Est-il facile de se déplacer sur place (en transport en commun par exemple) ? Pour aller dans des centres de ski et de hiking...
Aussi, j'aime faire du ski de fond et je me demandais si ça se faisait de louer de l'équipement là-bas ou si je devrais apporter le mien?

Va a banff, il est assez facile de trouver du travail, je penses au Banff Spring entre autres, un tres bel hotel.

Non pas beaucoup d'experience. Mais à Banff ce sera plus facile. Canmore est moins touristique. Plusieurs personnes du Québec y vont pour apprendre l'anglais. Le probleme par contre, est que les groupes francophones sont servis par des employés francos. Le probleme n'est pas pour les clients, il est pour les francos qui y vont pour apprendre l'anglais, mais travaillent souvent en francais.
Malgré ce petit detail, c'est une tres belle experience. Sur la rue principale, en direction du Banff Spring, tu trouveras certainement un emploi. Il te faut quand meme un minimum d'anglais.
Canmore peut aussi s'avérer intéressant. Cette ville n'est plus ce qu'elle a déjà été (une ville 'banlieue-dortoir' de Banff). On y trouve plusieurs cafés, restaurants, et autres services de toutes sortes. Un centre local d'emploi où on parle français. Reste qu'elle est plus paisible que Banff.
Une majorité d'employeur met des 'Staff house' à prix modique à la disposition des employés. Faut toutefois vérifier leur état et coûts. Si les employeurs veulent des employés... Les camps de constructions au nord (Grande Prairies, Fort McMurray, Cold Lake) sont aussi une option).
Y'a pas mal de travail jusqu'en avril. Après, ...ça dépend du temps ! Un temps mort s'en suit pour revenir avec la saison d'été autour du 24 mai.
Tu peux appeler pour connaître les besoins, jauger l'achalandage, mais pas vraiment pour te faire embaucher. Tu devrais trouver sur place. Quitte à tenter un arrangement avec une des auberges de jeunesses (une nuit contre 4~5h d'ouvrage /jr) en attendant de trouver. Te déplacer vers Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper et autres petits endroits. Beaucoup de québécois s'échangent des infos 'pour s'informer des jobs disponibles.
Sur la langue, dépendant du domaine où tu te retrouves, il y aura échange ou non avec le public. Mais dis-toi qu'on apprécie souvent une employée travaillante, allumée à une autre. Et l'anglais, ça s'apprend ! En se tenant pas trop avec les francophones. 😉
Y'a pas de transport en commun mais beaucoup d'entraide de la part des automobilistes et travailleurs.
Tant qu'aux 'trail' de hiking, y'en a ...partout !
Tu peux louer de l'équipement de ski de fond sur place, mais tu devras évaluer combien de fois tu comptes faire de sorties pour savoir quelle option est la meilleure pour toi... Si tu veux sauver le transport Qc-Ab, au pire, tu achète un kit sur place et le revend.
En ce moment, je me questionne sur un prochain séjour dans l'ouest canadien et aussi pour l'hiver 2013.
J'aimerais me rendre dans le bout de Golden ou de Banff. Mon but est d'apprendre l'anglais et de travailler dans un hôtel ou comme serveuse. Je veux profiter des montagnes, des gens et de la vie dans l'ouest. J'ai déjà une amie d'enfance qui sera à Golden mais j'aimerais connaitre d'autres gens dans se voyage.
Alors, j'aimerais quitter le Québec vers la mi janvier.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
