Depuis longtemps je cherche une aventure dans une région que je ne connais pas, et je viens d'avoir une proposition de poste à La réunion en architecture. Je voullais échanger des expériences de personnes qui y travaillent, savoir comment sont acceptés les métros sur l'île, si il est ''facile'' de se faire des contacts, avoir une idée du coût de la vie, ... toutes les infos que vous pourrais me donner m'interresse.

Me voila réunionaise depuis qq mois, alors je peux t'expliquer un peu comment je vois la chose.
Je crois que les expériences de chacun sont différentes selon là où ils vivent: les climats, les personnalités, les ambiances changent d'un endroit à l'autre. Tu sais où serait ton poste?
Sinon, il faut prévoir d'avoir une voiture. Je ne suis pourtant pas une adepte, mais c'est indispensable ici. Il y a des bus mais c'est galère, des bouchons très souvent, et il faut toujours prendre la voiture pour faire quoi que ce soit.
Au niveau du cout de la vie, si tu veux garder tes habitudes de consommation, ça va te revenir très cher (je crois que les prix sont supérieurs de 40%). Par contre, si tu es prêt à consommer local, poisson fruits et légumes vont te sembler (presque) donner!
Et sinon, je trouve qu'on sent un clivage entre métro et réunionais, mais il y en a quand même des adorables et très ouverts!
Il y a pas mal de sites où tu peux lire les expériences de certains, ça peut aider.
Et par contre, attend toi à une certaine d"sillusions, sur les îles, tout n'est pas aussi rose que ça en a l'air! et si tu veux pouvoir aller te baigner en sortant du boulot, il faut habiter à l'Ouest, entre St Paul et St pierre en gros!

Si le projet se concrétise, avant de faire le grand saut, j'aimerais faire un petit voyage de une semaine environ, pour faire connaissance avec le poste et l'ambiance sur l'île.
J'ai un peu peur de me sentir à l'étroit sur l'île (En Métro, je prend facilement le voiture pour bouger). Avec la montagne au milieu de l'île, il reste de l'espace !?

Pour les sites, tu tapes "vivre à la réunion" ou "habiter réunion" dans google, et tu trouveras, c'est ce que j'avais fait.
Et au niveau routier, la conception de l'île est simple: en gros une route qui fait le tour, où il peut y avoir des bouchons assez facilement près des grandes villes, et plein de petites routes qui montent dans la montagne. Un calcul a été fait, si toutes les voitures de la réunion étaient mises l'une derrière l'autre, ça ferait 4 fois le tour... Donc n'oublie pas d'avoir un autoradio, on passe beaucoup de temps dans les bouchons.
Et sinon, je ne sais pas trop comment te répondre pour la "place qu'il reste". Il y a beaucoup d'acitivtés aquatiques liées à la mer, mais aussi beaucoup de randos, et activités du genre pédestres. Repose moi ta question plus clairement si ce n'est pas la réponse que tu attendais!

je pense que le scooter est un moyen de transport limité sur l'île: est ce que par scooter ça pourrait être moto?
Déjà, il n'y a pas beaucoup de supermarchés en ville, donc pas pratique pour les courses; il y a des routes dangereuses pour les 2 roues (ex: route du littoral entre st denis et le port); pour faire quoi que ce soit, il faut prendre sa voiture / scooter, donc ça veut dire passer du temps dessus...
Mais certains le font, ça doit être jouable!
pour le travail, ca dépend dans quel domaine, de ta motivation, de ton cv, mais j'en ai trouvé avec peu de formation, alors je croix que c'est aussi jouable!
quand aux relations réunionais - métro, certains n'ont pas l'esprit très ouvert et il existe un peu de "racisme", c'est à dire que certains réunionais voient les métro comme des personnes venant leur prendre leur travail. Heuresement ce n'est pas le cas de tous!

je vois que tu as eu pas mal de reponse, effectievement il ny a pas une reunion mais une multitude comme de climats...
un bon moyen deviter la voiture est la moto, ... dangereux mais te fera gagner bcp de temps. rien ne tempeches davoir une petite voiture dappoint en cas de besoin... perso jai passé le permis moto ici car la zone du port a louest est tres difficile en terme de circulation.
