je suis en possession d un visa etudiant en thailande, categorie NON immigration type ED, valable 1 an pour de multiples entrees..
j ai bien fait de m inquieter un peu sur le sujet, en effet l ambassade thai en suisse m avait dit que mon visa etait valable 1 an, ce qui est marque dans mon passport...mais en fait ce grand tampon n est pas un visa, c est juste le droit de rentrer dans le pays..
je dois aller a l immigration tous les 3 mois et justifier que je suis encore etudiant et payer 2000 bath..
je dois aussi avoir une lettre signee de l ecole que je suis tj etudiant chez eux..
pourquoi l ambassade en suisse me donne une version differente? pourquoi je dois renouveller tous les 3 mois alors que c est ecritr noir sur blanc dans mon passport que je peux legaler etre en thailande pendant 1 an..
ce pays me surprend de plus en plus quand a leur legislation en matiere des visas...

T'inquiète pas, tout est normal. Le grand tampon est un visa. Tu as effectivement le droit de rester un an en Thaïlande mais tu dois te présenter tous les 3 mois à l'immigration pour un tampon. Ils vérifient que tu es toujours bien entrain d'étudier. Ce que je ne sais pas en revanche c'est si tu dois sortir du pays, ce qui expliquerai le "multiple entries", ou si tu peux te contenter d'aller au bureau d'immigration de Bkk. Par contre je ne suis pas au courant pour les frais. Pour un non-immigrant B ou O ils sont de 1900 bahts chaque 3 mois.

Si c'est un multi, pas besoin d'aller a l'immigration tous les 3 mois, par contre tu dois sortir de Thailande tous les 90j et rentrer a nouveau pour obtenir 90j et ainsi de suite. En plus, juste avant la date d'expiration du visa dans 1 an, tu sors et rentres pour obtenir une derniere fois 90j ce qui fait un total de 15 mois en Thailande.
Si c'est un simple tu as droit a 90j et dois aller a l'immigration avec tes justificatifs environ 1 mois avant l'expiration pour demander une extension. Il te donneront 1 an a partir de ta date d'entree sur le territoire. Et la, tu devras retourner a l'immigration tous les 90j.
c est bien un multi entrees sur le passport valable 1 an..a ce que l immigration a dit a ma copine je dois aller le faire prolonger pour 3 mois, ils n ont pas mentionnes que je devais sortir du pays..
par contre des que le grand tampon est echu, mais que je suis tj etudiant, est ce qu ils le prolongent de nouveau 1 annee???

C'est quoi le "grand tampon" dont tu parles?? Normalement un visa c'est un autocollant, pas un tampon.
La plupart du temps, les etudiants prennent un simple entree valable 90j et vont a l'immigration a BKK faire l'extension pour rester un an. Tu peux le faire aussi mais dans ce cas tu auras paye plus cher en prenant un multi plutot qu'un simple.
A la fin, si tu veux rester une autre annee, il faut aller redemander un visa au consulat thai.
Et non Jérome, le visa peut etre un tampon, c'était le cas pour moi, et 3 fois !!!
Sinon si c'est un multiple entrées et bien ps le choix, il faut ressortir du pays tous les 90 jours. Ou alors aller au bureau de l'immigration et ..... payer ce qu'on a deja payé pour le visa. Autrement on se fait avoir par les autorités.
pour obteni le visa etudiant j ai simplement booke 1 an de cours de langue dans une ecole et l ecole a prit contact avec l ambassade thai en suisse, qui m a delivre le visa, c etait tres simple..

Aucun visa n'est delivre en Thailande, que tu soies etudiant, marie a une thaie, retraite ou employe il faut toujours aller renouveler son visa a l'etranger.
Tu devrais probablement pouvoir le renouveler a Singapour ou Kuala Lumpur.

J'ai obtenu un visa ED pour une durée de 1 an en payant 120e . Je me suis dit cool je reste plus de 6 mois en Thailande comme ça ne n'aurai pas besoin de renouveller mon visa.
Donc début mars mon stage est fini et je me présente à l'immigration de l'aéroport pour prendre mon avion et ils me disent vous ne pouvez pas sortir du territoire.
Un autre mec m'informe que je ne peux pas séjourner plus de 90 jours consécutifs.
Ils me disent vous devez payer 45 000b pour sortir du territoire du coup pas le choix je devais rentrer en France absolument, je vais donc retirer des espèces. Aprés un mec de l'aéroport vient m'aider et il me dit g reussi à négocier et vous ne payer plus que 20 000b.
Donc du coup me voilà "allégée" de 20 000b plus des 35e de frais de retrait.
Bref je me rends compte en lisant les différents messages qu'ils n'avertissent pas les gens pour leur prendre un max de fric pour sortir du territoire! Et là je suis vraiment dégoutée et déçue de ce pays.
L'ambassade de Thailande en France aurai du m'avertir au lieu de ça ils m'ont dis pas de problème avec votre Visa pour une durée de 1 an.
Quels recours pourrais-je avoir? Je pensais appeler l'ambassade de Thailande à Paris, l'ambassade de France en Thailande, le ministère des affaires étrangères et aller porter plainte!

Le consulat royal de thailande m'a fait change d'avis et j'ai pris un visa multi-entree a 120 euros parce que, d'apres eux, je n'aurais ensuite pas besoin d'aller a l'immigration tous les 3 mois pour renouveller mon tampon.
Comme je n'etais pas dans une universite formelle mais en sejour de recherche avec une institution, ils n'etaient pas au courant du fonctionnement des visas non immigrant ED. DOnc j'ai laisse passe 7 mois sans m'inquieter, d'autant plus que le seul tampon visible sur mon passeport se contentait de dire que j'etais entree a telle date.
Et puis j'ai lu ton post et j'ai eu un coup au coeur. J'ai regarde partout sur mon passeport, et j'ai fini par trouver le tampon, bien cache sous l' "arrival card" disant que je n'ai droit de rester en Thailande avec ce tampon que jusqu'au 12 octobre 2007 (aujourd'hui 29 janvier). Si je calcule, j'ai donc depasse le temps legal de 110 jours, ce qui signifie que je dois payer la modique somme de 55000 baht ou 1100 euros.
Je vais essayer de negocier aussi, mais je trouve tout ca assez terrible...
