à siquijor, suivant le budget : coco grove 2400 php, beau resort avec tout sur place; coral cay 800 à 2000, bar top pour le coucher du soleil. ça c'est coté san juan. au nord de larena, islander paradise 700 à 1100, un peu isolé, bungalows au bord de la plage de sable blanc, dommage que l'accueil ait été aussi peu sympa ( aout 2011 ). pour les ballades, partez à l'interieur de l'ile et flanez. les gens sont très accueillants. autrement, un beau couvent à voir à lazi ainsi que des chutes où l'on peut se baigner, bons petits restos pas chers autour du marché de maria. les grottes autour du mont bandila-an, le village de san antonio et ses guérisseurs....il y a de quoi s'occuper 3/4 jours. à dumaguete, éventuellement la ballade aux twin lakes, 2 lacs de volcan, mais pas exceptionnels. j'y suis en fevrier cette année et je vais explorer le coté valencia et malatapay. à dumaguete, je loge toujours à l'hotel palwa, double à 969 php.

Malheureux Twins lakes est un superbe coin de randonnée depuis Dumaguette louer une moto , si possible enmener une tente, faire le tour du lac et les environs, végétation luxuriante....un coin superbe; location de barques pour ballade sur le lac; la route monte 1500 m superbe point de vue sur Negros et les iles environnantes. nav

A Suiquijor, le Coco Grove à san Juan très cher et un peu surfait même si son cadre et la plage sont idylliques, j'ai préféré au nord de Larena le hard rock cottages, très intime et mer au pied des cottages, le Tulapos marine sanctuary trés vaste mérite le déplacement, , la route sous de grands tamarins et autre arbres gigantesque arbres sous lesquels de petits marchands vendent des mini bananes délicieuses. puis la route traversante par le mont Bandila-An est trés agréable pour les amateurs de flore et de faune. A coté de Dumaguete, Dauin vaut le coup si tu trouves un bateau(se renseigner dés l'arrivée) pour aller voir les dauphins et les hauts fonds où il fait bon se baigner parés avoir dégusté les poisson achetés sur le "champ" aux pêcheurs qui ne manquent pas , et cuits aussitôt sur le bateau. Je ne me souviens plus du nom de l'hôtel bon marché à la sortie de Dauin à droite, ils peuvent te prêter la cuisine aprés le repas du soir vers 19h pour faire cuire ton poisson frais à ta façon. Ne pas perdre de temps avec les décevants twin lakes qui ne valent pas le temps qu'on mets pour y aller.

Je confirme le grand interet des twins lakes et les trecks a faire ici en pleine nature. Ici especes rare!faune et végétation, vue superbe sur negros et Cebu. Si possible emennez une tente .il est trés facile et rapide d'y aller depuis Dumaguette:louer une moto dans le centre ville. Puis si voulez aller sur Bias et voir les dauphins dans le Tanion strait, c'est la route...un conseil montez jusqu’à' a San Carlos pour visiter la petit ile de Sipaway de là vous pouvez prendre le bateau pour Tolédo sur Cebu ou monter à Sagay prendre la bangka pour Bantayan. The Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao

In the mountains of southern Negros Island, 12 km west of the town of Sibulan, Negros Oriental peacefully lie the captivating Lake Balinsasayao and its twin lake, equally breathtaking Lake Danao. One of the major tourist attractionsin the province, Lake Balinsasayao is a protected Natural Park, home to an expansive ecosystem and great biodiversity. The lakes are two small but deep crater freshwater lakes rising 1000 feet above sea level and separated by a narrowmountain ridge, situated in a hollow between four mountains, Mount Mahungot to the south, Mount Kalbasan to the north, Mount Balinsasayao to the east and Mount Guidabon to the west. Lake Balinsasayao lies to the northwest of the ridge and Lake Danao to the southeast.

Activities include swimming, fishing, boating, trekking and kayaking. There is a clean restroom and a small canteen sellingbeverages and light snacks The area is surrounded by lush tropical greens and vegetation. Age old trees, giant ferns and other exotic plants and orchids are among its natural inhabitants. Wild rare vines freely cling to the barks of the trees. The Almagica Tree, the tallest tree of the Philippines growing up to 60 meters tall, can still be found here. It is also the habitat of many rare species like the Japanese Night Heron whose presence in the vicinity was recorded in the 1970s. The dipterocarp forest is rich in bird life. The lake is teeming with fish making it an ideal fishing ground. The calm waters also make it perfect for swimming, boating and kayaking or just sitting under one of the small huts to take in the view and the fresh mountain air. Most people bring their own packed meals for a lunch picnic in one of the cottages that may be rented. There is a canteen selling drinks, bottled water and light snacks. A small restroom is also available. In recent years, there has been a threat by the local cut and burn farmers known as kaingeros. Uncontrolled cutting of timber in the Balinsasayao area has resulted to a reduction of the inflow of water to the lake which has in turn, caused a fall in its water level.

How to get to the Twin Lakes of Balinsasayao

From the capital city of Negros Oriental, Dumaguete, the town of Sibulan is 6 kilometers away and about 20 minutes road travel time. From a certain point you head up to the mountains, a steep and winding path, until you reach the area for disembarking. Finally you make a short descent to the lake by way of a man-made stairway made from flat stones. The majestic and serene lake slowly unfolds before your eyes as with the silhouette of the mountains behind it.
