The couple involved refused to pay the extra fee demanded by the flight coordination company. Things quickly escalated. It got so bad that the man ended up physically fighting with an airport agent, even rolling on the ground.

If you can’t afford to pay for your luggage, don’t travel 😡. What’s next? Are they gonna hit the tour guide in Mykonos because the price of the tour went up without warning 🤪?
A heads-up to all EasyJet travelers: baggage checks are more strict than ever!
Hi, it's my first time taking a plane and I chose EasyJet for a Geneva -> Barcelona flight.
I booked my ticket.
I received my booking reference by email, but I don’t see the actual ticket (barcode or QR code?).
Then I checked in to get the boarding pass with the flight details, QR code, etc. But does this boarding pass act as the ticket?
Because I’ve seen several times online that the flight ticket and the boarding pass aren’t the same thing.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
I’m booking a flight operated by Luxair for my wife and me.
30 hours before the scheduled departure time and as requested by them, I complete the online check-in. I’m then offered the option to choose our seats. Looking at the cabin layout, I see that two seats have already been assigned to us—one in the middle of the cabin on the left side, the other at the back of the cabin on the right side. I notice that both have an adjacent seat available, along with dozens of other seats.
I move one of the seats so we can sit together on the plane... and I’m charged 19 €! When I complain, Luxair (or rather, the platform) responds that there was no way to get adjacent seats.
This tactic to push passengers into pre-reserving seats for a fee is really bordering on a scam! And now I’m getting messages encouraging me to upgrade my seats!
Basically, airlines keep prices low but do everything to pressure us into paying for extras.

Hello,
We’re planning a cruise to the UAE/QATAR/OMAN starting from DUBAI, with flights departing from Paris CDG. Which airlines would you recommend for round-trip flights, with or without a layover? We need assistance for check-in and boarding/disembarking (my husband is a mobility-impaired traveler who uses a cane and/or a walker). We’ve done a cruise return from Dubai to Paris CDG before in 2016, with a layover in Istanbul, but we booked the transfer and return flight with COSTA. For our current plan, it would be with Celestyal, which doesn’t offer round-trip flights from Paris to Dubai. Should we book very far in advance, or is a few months before departure enough (4/6 months)? We’re thinking of arriving the day before the ship departs, so we’d need to stay overnight in Dubai—either on the way there or for the return flight, depending on the flight schedules. Could you recommend a hotel not too far from the airport, and how to get to the port from the airport?
Thanks so much for your advice. Have a great Sunday! Mum49

Hi there,
I just booked a round-trip flight from Brussels to Da Nang on eDreams, with a layover in Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific. Does anyone know the check-in procedure for these flights?
1) For flight CX294 BXL-HKG, I’ll need to check in on the Cathay Pacific website,
2) For the next flight CX5552 HKG-DAD, what should I do? I only have a 2h25 layover. Will I need to collect my luggage, go through immigration, and then recheck in at the airport counter, etc.?
I’m pretty worried about this layover—I thought check-in could be done on the airline’s website and that my luggage would be transferred automatically during the layover, like with most other airlines...
Thanks so much for any help from those who’ve been in this situation!
Hi,
I swapped my first and last name when I made my reservation. I’d like to know if this could cause any issues for boarding or not? I have a layover in Istanbul on my way to Dubai.
Could you please point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I bought my flight ticket with my first (usual) first name, which appears first on my passport. However, I have two first names on my passport, and of course, it’s mentioned in the machine-readable zone at the bottom.
I booked with Turkish Airlines (through an online agency) for a trip to South Korea.
I wanted to know if it would be a problem that I only used my first first name on the ticket, while my passport has two. I had requested through the agency to add the second first name, but the airline refused because it doesn’t meet their general conditions. (They must have seen that the last name and first name were the same, and only the second first name was added.)
So, my ticket has my last name and first first name correctly spelled, and when I check in online, I’ll enter the passport details correctly.
I’ll have a layover in Istanbul on the flight.
Thanks in advance for your replies. Have a great day.

Hi there,
I’ve got a long layover (about 10 hours) in Seoul on an upcoming trip.
I arrive from Phnom Penh at 7:20 AM and depart for Montreal at 6:00 PM.
First question: Will my checked baggage be transferred automatically? I have a single ticket from KTI to YUL (Air Canada ticket—KTI-ICN operated by Asiana (codeshare) and ICN-YUL by Air Canada).
Second question: I saw it’s possible to join free guided tours (Airport Transit Tour). What do you think of this kind of service? And is my "actual" layover time (accounting for security checks, check-in, etc.) enough to do one of these tours?
Thanks in advance to everyone who chimes in on this!

Hi there,
We’d like to visit Vietnam during the visa exemption period (45 days), and our flight ticket is already booked. After that, we plan to head to Cambodia via the fast boat from Chau Doc and return to Belgium from Cambodia. I don’t think we can buy the boat ticket from here. Do you think this is doable? I’m worried about potential issues at boarding in Brussels if I don’t have proof of leaving Vietnam after the 45 days.
Thanks for your advice!
Hi,
I’m traveling from Paris to Tokyo with a connection in Hanoi.
My layover isn’t long (1h45), so I’m a bit stressed about missing my second flight to Tokyo.
So I have a couple of questions: 1) Will my luggage go straight through, or do I need to collect it?
2) Do I have to go through everything again (customs, security, etc.)?
Just to clarify, my Paris-Tokyo ticket is with Vietnam Airlines.
Thanks for your help!

Hi there,
This afternoon I had a flight at 5:10 PM to Amsterdam from Nice (final destination: Berlin). I arrived at the airport a little before 3:00 PM and saw that the flight was now leaving at 6:30 PM. I went to the counter to point out that I wouldn’t have time to make my connection, and they told me I’d be spending the night in Amsterdam.
When the agent checked her computer, she saw that I’d been put on a flight with another airline and asked if I hadn’t received an email.
In the end, I had to change terminals and leave at 7:05 PM with Swiss Airlines, then Air Baltic.
Just to clarify, I checked in less than 24 hours ago for both KLM flights (Nice-Amsterdam and Amsterdam-Berlin) where I had seats assigned. I checked my emails carefully, and I was never notified!
Luckily, the Swiss Airlines flight left later—otherwise, at 3:00 PM, I wouldn’t have had time to check in (I have a checked bag), and I don’t know how I would’ve proven I never got an email. Also, thankfully, I went to the counter much earlier than planned for the 6:30 PM departure.
In the end, I was lucky because with KLM, I would’ve lost a whole day. And it’s a good thing I always travel for at least two full weeks because I’ve often lost a day due to delays—I wouldn’t do that for a week or a weekend getaway...
This is the first time this has happened to me, but there’s a first time for everything!

Hi there,
I’m flying to Bogotá with a one-way ticket in early January. A friend told me that I’ll likely have trouble boarding in France if I can’t show a return (or onward) flight out of Colombia. He was in the same situation but from the US and had to buy one at the airport before leaving.
So, I’m thinking of buying a ticket that I can get refunded once I’m there. Are there still airlines that offer full refunds without any reason? Is there a legal timeframe within which I can do this?
Thanks!
Levelo.

Hi everyone,
I booked a flight to Bali in December through an online travel agency. I received my reservation number but not the e-ticket, so I wanted to check everything on the airline’s website (Qatar Airways).
On the airline’s site, for each of my flights, I see the status "confirmed" and an e-ticket number. However, I can’t generate the ticket. Should I be able to generate it, or are the e-ticket numbers enough?
Also, when I check the passenger information, the "title" field is grayed out and can’t be completed, even though it’s marked as mandatory. Is this a problem? Can I wait until check-in at the airport? Should I contact the agency or Qatar Airways?
Thanks in advance for your help! !

Hi there, I’d like to know if it’s possible to catch a 9:00 AM flight to Lombok with Air Asia after landing in Kuala Lumpur at 6:10 AM from Paris with Malaysia Airlines (we don’t have checked baggage, but our tickets are separate, so we’ll need to go through immigration). Same question for the return: arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 9:20 PM from Lombok and departing for Paris at 11:40 PM. I’ve read that the two airlines are in different terminals at the airport. The other option is to take flights with a 7- to 8-hour layover. What do you think is better? Thanks!
Hi there,
Hi, I just bought a flight ticket on eDreams. My account was debited, but I haven’t received the tickets. I checked my spam folder, but no luck. Could you provide me with a contact number or a link to their site so I can file a complaint? Alternatively, if anyone has a solution, I’d be interested in getting a refund. I contacted my bank, but since the amount has already been debited, what can they do? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I’m reaching out to the community because I can’t find the answer to my question.
I’d like to book a flight from Barcelona to Singapore, then from Singapore to Bali with Singapore Airlines.
When transferring from Singapore to Bali, does the airline handle the baggage transfer between the two flights?
Or do we have to collect our luggage, go through security again, check in, etc.?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi there,
I bought a ticket for a flight from Toulouse to Mauritius through the Go to Gate agency. The flight leaves Toulouse with Air France, then has a layover in Paris before continuing to Mauritius with Air Mauritius.
Unfortunately, I made a typo in my partner’s name. The travel agency won’t correct it, even though Air Mauritius doesn’t see a problem—but they won’t send an email to authorize the change either. They say it’s up to Go to Gate to handle it.
Just so you know, the airline can’t modify the name themselves; according to them, it’s Go to Gate’s responsibility to make the change.
What should I do? Thanks so much!

Hi, I know this topic has already been discussed, but in a rush, I booked a flight ticket with my married name (on my passport it’s noted as "married name X").
I’m flying with Oman Air, but since I booked through Expedia, they refuse to change it to my maiden name. Can I still travel? I’m really panicking!
Hi,
We arrive at Rome airport from Lyon Sunday morning at 9:30 AM and have a layover until 11:45 AM for our flight to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
We need to collect our luggage at T1 to head to T3.
Will we have enough time?
Thanks for your feedback.
Hi there,
We’re heading to Chile in September 2025, and we booked a Paris–Santiago flight (AF) that was supposed to arrive in Santiago at 7:45 AM, with a same-day connection to Calama on LATAM at 2 PM. Air France just changed the arrival time to 8:45 AM in Santiago. Do you think we’ll still have enough time for the connection to Calama, or should we change our 2 PM flight to one the next morning? The other same-day options are too late. How long should we budget for customs, health checks, and baggage claim—since we’ll need to recheck our bags for Calama?
Is moving between the international terminal and the domestic terminal time-consuming?
Thanks so much for your help! :)

Hi everyone, we need your advice to avoid being denied boarding at Paris CDG.
We’re planning a one-month trip to China, which matches the 30-day visa on arrival, but with a return ticket from Vietnam. For example, we’d arrive in Chengdu, then travel via Lao Cai to Vietnam, and fly back to Paris CDG from Hanoi 45 days later. Do you think this could be an issue at boarding?
Second option: arrive in Chengdu (*30-day visa duration*), then fly from Kunming to Hanoi 45 days later (Vietnam visa duration), and return to Paris CDG from Hanoi. Thanks for your input!

Hi, does anyone know if it’s necessary to have a return ticket to go to Mexico? I’d like to go there—I’ve bought a one-way ticket and plan to cross the border by bus to Guatemala. I’m worried they won’t let me board the plane if I don’t have a return ticket.

Hi,
I’m leaving for Brazil in two weeks with my partner and just realized I made a mistake on the flight ticket regarding the middle name. Usually, I never include one, but this time I wanted to add my partner’s middle name—and instead of putting it on his ticket, I put it on mine. So now I have an incorrect middle name (a male one, no less!). Otherwise, the first and last names are correct. Do you think this could cause a problem, given that the middle name is optional? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I have to leave for Canada and I’ve got a layover at Paris CDG. A friend of mine will be at the airport to see me. What are the options for us to meet up? Can she access my terminal (T2E), or can I leave the international zone?
Hi there,
We're leaving for Albania on June 18th. When I validated the flight tickets with Wizz Air on Booking, I only put my son's first name but forgot to include his other three first names on the ticket. On the passport: SURNAME: Dupont, FIRST NAMES: toto titi tutu tata On the flight ticket: SURNAME: Dupont, FIRST NAME: toto I can't seem to reach anyone at Wizz Air to get an answer. Booking and Wizz Air's chat say I need to modify it, but ChatGPT says it should be fine. I wanted to know if he can fly like this or if I need to change his ticket? (It costs 140 €, I know I shouldn't have made a mistake🙁)
Thanks for your feedback.

Hi there,
This might be a silly question, but I’m traveling to Japan from CDG and returning via Osaka with EVA Air, and I have a pretty bulky aluminum knee brace. It’s this model: https://enovis-medtech.eu/fr_FR/OA-FullForce-74358.html
Has anyone had any experience with airport security checks or flying with one of these?
Thanks in advance! Best regards,

So, even before starting my explanation, I’d like to introduce myself since this is my first post on the forum :) I’m Jérôme, a huge Asia enthusiast, and I’m currently in the process of moving to Japan with my family in 2028.
Now, onto the topic :)
We’re a family of four traveling together to Seoul, with two separate bookings.
Our original itinerary was: Madrid → Doha → Seoul (March 23–24)
The issue is that our entire outbound flight was canceled, and the airline simply rescheduled the Madrid → Doha leg. Now we’re left with an incomplete journey, with no solution to reach our final destination (Seoul).
Since then:
- Can’t modify flights online (technical error every time) - Can’t get help via chat or WhatsApp - Phone support is unreachable, and the usual French number isn’t working right now
We don’t want a refund. We just want to be rerouted to Seoul, as our original ticket promised.
We’re flexible:
- On dates (we can leave on March 21 or 22 instead of the 23rd) - On the itinerary (different layovers if needed)
Have any of you dealt with this before? Do you know how to unlock a booking in this case or get a rerouting? We’re considering going straight to the airport to resolve it at the Qatar Airways counter....
Thanks so much for your help! 😊

Thanks!
Hi there,
When I run searches on Skyscanner, I see that only Lufthansa has flights to Seoul with just one stop. Air France doesn’t show up, even though I thought the French airline served Seoul? I can’t even log into the Air France website—it keeps glitching.

Hello,
We’re planning to fly from Paris to Bangkok at the end of June with my wife, our daughter, and the baby who’ll be 4 months old by then.
The baby won’t be born for another 2 months, and I was wondering if it’s possible to book the 3 flight tickets now and add the baby after the birth? I read that a ticket isn’t necessary for babies.
Can you confirm this for me?
Is there a risk that in 2 months they’ll tell me the flight is full and we can’t add our baby?
Finally, is it possible to reserve a seat in the first row (where there’s the most space) right now?
Thanks so much for your help
