Ayant utilisé ce forum pour organiser mes voyages au Vietnam et ayant eu de très bons retours je renouvelle l’expérience pour la Thaïlande cette fois ci.

Je prévois un séjour de 3 semaines environ 20 jours voyages inclus en avril 2020.

Nous serons 4 adultes de 38, à 70 ans et 1 enfant de 9 ans .

Voici dans les grandes lignes ce que nous souhaitons découvrir :

Bangkok : lieu d’arrivée ( si vous avez des hôtels sympa à un prix raisonnable je suis preneuse )

Kanchanaburi et sa région dont le pont de la rivière kwai et les chutes d’erawan.

Changmaï et un centre de sauvegarde des éléphants

Et après les îles là où se situe mon plus grand dilemme, mer d’Andaman ou golf de Thaïlande

À vrai dire j’aimerai les 2 et en particulier , koh Lanta, koh Ngai, et koh tao.

Et aussi peut être une mini croisière pour faire quelques autres îles mais pas forcément loger dessus .

Concernant les îles mon but premier n’est pas les fonds marins mais le repos et la baignade dans des eaux cristallines à l’écart Du tourisme de masse et des fêtards.

Voilà pouvez vous m’aiguiller De sorte que j’optimise Les déplacements intérieurs . Dans quel sens dois je programmer ce circuit pour perdre le moins de temps dans les transports ?

Je suis preneuse de toutes vos idées , conseils et bonnes adresses .... Merci d’avance à tous .

Je pars pour la Thaïlande avec mon conjoint et notre fille de 3 ans pour 15 jours. Nous projetons le circuit suivant :

1 jour à Bangkok 10 jours sur les îles en Mer d’Adaman La question est quelles îles ?? 2 jours Bangkok

Nous avons remarqué Koh Jum, Koh Lipe, koh kood,

Ces îles ne sont pas proches, dans un idéal nous aimerions faire 2 ou 3 îles sur ces 10 jours et éviter les îles où il y a trop de tourisme festif

On ne sait plus où donner de la tête !

So happy to see that VoyageForum is back up! We're planning a trip to Thailand in October 2025. We're looking for quiet islands with nature/jungle, beaches, and pretty villages (no party scene!). We'll be traveling with our 5-year-old son. I've done some research and found a few islands that seem to fit our criteria. We're torn between the islands on the Gulf side (Koh Chang, Koh Mak, Koh Kood) and the Andaman Sea islands (Koh Yao Noi, Koh Yao Yai). What are your tips? Any area to prefer in October? Are there other islands you'd recommend? Thanks

For a stay of four or five nights around August 15th, would you recommend Krabi or Koh Samui (or Koh Phangan)? Ideally, we're looking for crystal-clear waters and beautiful sandy beaches—more for walking than just lying around sunbathing on a lounger.

Hi everyone, we’ll be in Thailand from August 2nd to 21st, arriving in Bangkok on the 2nd for a visit. From the 5th to the 8th: Angkor temples. Then, starting on the 9th, we’re planning to head to Chiang Mai, and by the 14th or 15th, we’d like to be on an island until the 19th, when we return to Bangkok. Five days in Chiang Mai seems a bit long to us. What do you recommend between the 9th and 15th, and which island? We’re not big fans of sunbathing—we’d love to snorkel and explore the island. Ideally, I’d have liked to find a house to rent, but every time, I end up with places far from the beach, whereas we’d really like to be able to walk to the beach for strolls. Hi everyone, I know my post might sound a bit repetitive with the questions asked regularly on this forum, but I’m feeling a little lost and thought I’d still ask for your help. Here’s my situation: I’m traveling to Thailand with my wife and 12-year-old son during the February 2025 school holidays. We’ll be spending 12 nights in the country. So far, I only have our flight tickets to and from Phuket. Now, I need to plan an itinerary that lets us discover beautiful places and the culture of this country. I’d like to stay by the sea, with stunning fine-sand beaches and breathtaking landscapes in areas that aren’t too urban, but also be able to see some beautiful monuments, typical villages, and wildlife not too far away. That said, I don’t want to be lost deep in the jungle either—I’d like a bit of atmosphere in the evenings (no nightclubs, but rather nice bars with music). I’ve done some research and here’s a first draft of what I might do:

Spend my first 3 nights in the suburbs of Phuket to explore the city and the province more broadly, Then head to Ko Yao Noi for 2 nights to discover the charms of Phang Nga Bay, Next, fly from Krabi to spend 4 nights on Koh Samui (maybe with a little excursion to Ko Pha Ngan?), Then fly back to Krabi to reach Koh Phi Phi for 2 nights, Finally, return to the Phuket area for my last night in Thailand to be close for my flight the next day.

The idea is to explore several places without having to pack and unpack every day, and to avoid spending hours on transport every day. What do you think? Do the places seem relevant? If so, does the number of nights seem appropriate? Thanks in advance for your help, Best regards, Lionel

I'm "finalizing" a trip with my adventurous family (wife + 3 kids aged 16, 14, and 8) for this Easter break in Thailand (we'll be there from 04/19 to 05/01).

I'm going through the site and wanted to thank you all for the tips and insights you share on the forum. They're really valuable. But boy, it's tough to sketch out an itinerary

Of course, my backpacking route might be debatable, but I'm trying to target this path to get a first taste of the country's different "facets" and keep everyone in the family happy 😛

For this first trip, we're sticking to the classics and planning to explore a different side of the Land of Smiles in the future:

- arrival in BKK at 4 PM on 04/19 ==> leaving the same day at 7 PM for Chiang Mai (I "hesitated" with the 5:30 PM flight but was worried we wouldn't have enough time to switch from British AW to Thai Airways + airport fees + baggage + customs, etc. )

- from 04/20 to 04/23 ==> Chiang Mai with the main highlights (we've picked: Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat, elephant sanctuary, Doi Inthanon, the old city, Wat Chedi, Wat Phra Singh).

==> For the elephant sanctuary: any recommendations? Morning or afternoon visit?

==> It might seem ambitious, but we're considering a day trip to Chiang Rai—though it's not a must. Yes, we know it means ~6 hours of travel in one day.

- direct flight on the morning of 04/24 to Krabi ==> Railay - Phang Nga ==> this part isn't finalized yet (we won't stay in Krabi).

For those who've been there, which part of the south would be best weather-wise during this period?

We'd stay in the south until 04/28 and take a 8 PM flight to BKK.

- BKK on 04/29, 04/30, and part of 05/01 before our flight to London at 11 PM.

We'll hit the must-see/classic spots there.

If you have time to share some insights, I'd really appreciate it.

I’d like to do a kind of personal retreat this winter and I’m looking for a destination near the sea (preferably an island) that’s quiet. Is that possible in Thailand, or should I consider another destination? Thanks for your thoughts. Dayi

Bonjour, Je pars en Thailande fin janvier, et après 9 jours dans les "îles" du sud-est (Kao Lak pour commencer, puis Koh Phiphi et Koh Lanta), et avant de prendre le vol retour à bangkok, il me restera 6 jours (et 5 nuits) dont trajets. Initialement je pensais aller 3 jours à Koh Samui, puis rentrer en train de nuit de Surat Thani. Mais au final je ne sais pas si c'est le bon choix. Est-ce qu'il ne serait pas plus intéressant de passer 3 jours du côté de Prachuap Khiri Khan (et Bang Saphan), en remontant ? Ca a l'air très joli, et sans doute moins usine à touristes, qu'en pensez-vous ? Je suis plus à la recherche de beaux paysages, sports (nautiques, rando, vélo), et plutôt authenticité (calme et nature) même si je sais que ça sera tout relatif sur ce point Mais j'ai peur de me retrouver avec des trajets galère à gérer si je prends cette 2e option ; car alors ça ne serait pas possible de nuit. Ou alors priviléger Koh Phan Ngan ? Ou combiner Koh Phan Ngan et Prachuap avec le bateau jusqu'à Chumpon ? Un journée à Bangkok à l'arrivée avant le reprendre l'avion le soir est prévue et me suffira pour ce qui est de cette ville. Merci par avance de vos conseils.

Bonjour, L'année dernière, nous sommes passés à Chan AM, petite ville au dessus d'Hui HIN. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié son immense plage extrêmement bien entretenu et ces transats a disposition. Concernant la ville nous cherchons des infos, est-ce aussi vivant q'HH, les restaus en bord de plage sont-ils sympas et abordables.? Nous cherchons hôtels ou guesthouse bien situés pour y séjourner une 15 de jours , pas trop chers (20 a 30 euros pour 2) car nous séjournons 2 mois en Thaïlande. Bien sûr, Pattaya est proscrit. Nous ne recherchons pas particulièrement la plage, mais plutôt des balades. Cela fait 45 ans que je bourlingue, aussi je sais très bien que les endroits hors sentiers battus se font de plus en plus rares, néanmoins, j’espère trouver un endroit paisible et sympa en faisant appel à votre expérience. For the past two months, I’ve been checking flight ticket prices to spend 4.5 weeks in Thailand from early July to early August. I’m traveling from Brussels with a young child, so I want to avoid layovers. That’s why I’m only looking at Thai Airways’ website and only choosing direct flights.

At the end of August, I saw tickets for 955 € per person. On October 1st, they were 1,225 €. Today (October 22nd), the price is the same as on October 1st. (Same dates: Departure: July 4th, Return: August 7th.)

My question is: Is it possible these prices will drop significantly in the coming months?

Note: I clear my browser cache before every search, which I always do during the week and in the evening. This time, I also checked with my work computer, which has a VPN. So, the price isn’t influenced by cookies.

I’m arriving at Trang Airport in mid-November. What’s the going rate for Pakmeng Pier and then for Koh Mook? Also, what’s the cheapest way to get from Koh Mook to Noppharat Thara (Ao Nang)? After that, I’ll be heading from Railay to Koh Yao Noi. Should I buy tickets from a local agency or at the pier?

Thanks also for your great tips! What are the must-see spots during 5 nights on Koh Mook, 3 around Ao Nang, and 3 on Koh Yao Noi? After that, I’m planning to visit Phuket City, Khao Lak, Surat Thani, Ao Khanom, maybe Koh Samui... and Bangkok for 4 nights. Hi there, I’m heading to Thailand at the end of June (I know it’s not the best time, but I don’t have a choice) for three and a half weeks, and I’d love your advice on the itinerary. I’d like to visit Koh Lanta, Ko Lipe, Ko Chang, and Ko Kood. What do you think is the ideal order based on the travel logistics? My initial plan was this, after a night in Bangkok to recover from the flight: 1: Flight Bangkok – Krabi, then boat Krabi – Koh Lanta 2: Boat Koh Lanta – Ko Lipe 3: Boat Koh Lanta – Krabi, then flight Krabi – Bangkok, then flight Bangkok – Trat, and finally boat Trat – Ko Chang (quite a long day!) 4: Boat Ko Chang – Ko Kood 5: Boat Ko Kood – Trat, then flight Trat – Bangkok for the return trip.

Is there a better order or a more efficient way to organize this? (For example, starting with Ko Lipe from Hat Yai and then taking a boat to Koh Lanta?) Anyway, thanks in advance for your thoughts and tips, and have a great weekend!

Nous sommes déjà partis en août en Martinique et à Cancun, il y a eu très peu de pluie. Mais comme c'est un autre coin du monde… on ne sait pas

On recherche des vacances en Asie car c'est moins cher qu'en France et en Europe. Nous n'aimons pas l'Europe et nous partons souvent aux usa mais l'été prochain nous aurons un budget plus serré.

Nous recherchons le coté plages, mer chaude et visites.

Que nous recommandez-vous ?

Bonjour, Nous avons acheté nos vols hier après midi. Malheureusement ce matin nous étions tenus de les annuler. Nous avons appelé ce matin le service clients de Qatar Airways à Doha (bien que le numéro de téléphone soit français). Nous avons annulé nos vols téléphoniquement. (pas de délai de rétractation) puis nous devions recevoir un email de confirmation 6 minutes après : au bout d'une demie heure nous avons rappelé là nous devons être patients puis 1h après vous avez dû recevoir un mail nous as t-on dit et il faudra attendre que le service Back office s'en occupe : si aujourd'hui ou demain matin nous n'avons pas toujours reçu d'email de confirmation d'annulation, les rappeler...nous sommes allés alors sur le forum du routard et là, découverte que cette manière de procéder n'est pas nouvelle avec cette compagnie. Nous ne savons plus quoi faire : attendre une hypothétique réponse ou et attendre le remboursement (la moitie de la dépense) qui interviendrait 2 semaines ou 4 semaines après... Quelqu'un a t-il rencontré ce problème? A qui vous êtes vous adressé? comment avez vous fait! à notre âge (plus de 70 ans) notre stresse va grandissant>. Je souhaite partir 15 jours avec mon conjoint début décembre. Nous devions au départ partir en octobre et aller à Bali ou en Thailande. Au final séjour reporté et on nous dit que Décembre ce n'est pas la bonne période pour aller à Bali ? Confirmez-vous cela ? Au final, on nous a beaucoup parlé de la Birmanie et maintenant on se dit pourquoi pas ?? Bref, vous l'aurez compris flou complet sur notre destination. Nous voulons vraiment quelque chose de très naturel dépaysant, faire des randonnées, visiter des temples, s'imprégner de la culture du pays. Nous souhaitons pouvoir nous déplacer facilement par nos propres moyens (pas de chauffeur privée etc sauf lors d'excursion). Nous souhaitons du repos et des belles plages en deuxième partie de séjour. Nous sommes même ouvert à d'autres pays d'Asie selon les avis de chacun. Budget 2500 € / personne avec les billets internationaux. Quelqu'un peut-il nous renseigner ? Merci d'avance,

We have the opportunity to get away for a little two-week trip at the very beginning of January, just the two of us, without our kids. Because of the kids, we haven’t traveled much in Asia, so we’d love to take advantage of their absence to explore Thailand. Even though I’m used to planning our trips, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed this time.

We’d like to visit Bangkok and head south by renting a car (we have an international driver’s license, and my husband has driven on the left before). I’ve managed to sketch out a rough itinerary that might work for us, and I’d love to hear your thoughts.

To set the scene: we haven’t booked anything yet, we don’t like spending hours on the beach (though a little time at the end of the day is fine), we love walking and sightseeing, and what we enjoy most is being independent (so if we can avoid group tours, that’s ideal).

After that intro, here’s the rough outline of our itinerary: Day 0: Paris-Bangkok flight Days 1, 2, and 3: Bangkok (Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Wat Arun, markets, boat ride through the khlongs, Jim Thompson House) Day 4: Ayutthaya Day 5: Pick up a rental car and head to Sam Roi Yot Day 6: Sam Roi Yot and Prachuap Khiri Khan Day 7: Drive south – overnight near Surat Thani Day 8: Uthayan Tham Khao Na Nai, then drive to Ao Nang (staying near Tubkaek) Days 9 and 10: Boat trips (Railay, Ko Hong, etc.) Day 11: Drive to Phang Nga with a few stops along the way Day 12: Boat tour (mangroves and Ko Tapu) Day 13: Drive to Phuket Airport and return flight

A few questions and doubts: - I’d considered Cheow Lan Lake but read some not-so-great reviews (crowds, just 3 viewpoints, and the rest was meh). What do you think? - Can we start from Ao Thalane Pier for trips to Ko Hong and Ko Tapu? - I’m not thrilled about driving through Bangkok, but I’m not sure where to rent a car west of the city (since we won’t return it to the same place, I assume it’s best to target rental companies at airports).

Hello, We’re heading to Thailand for 26 days (excluding flights) next July with our two teens (12 and 15 years old). My husband and I have been there several times before they were born—so that’s 15 years ago—and I’m a bit worried about some of the changes that might have happened since, especially with the rise in tourism... I’d also like to keep a pace that allows us to settle in a bit and enjoy local life beyond just the main sights. Plus, we’re pretty active. For now, our plan looks like this:

Arrival in Bangkok, where we’re thinking of spending several days (minimum 4) Chiang Mai for about a week 2 or 3 islands in the Gulf Return to Bangkok for 2 days before departure.

We’re pretty set on Bangkok and Chiang Mai, but we’re unsure about which islands to visit—I’ve read such mixed things that I’m even wondering if we should consider the coast instead. Organization-wise, I’d love any tips or feedback on whether we need to book in advance at this time of year, which transport options to prioritize (train, bus, or plane), and of course, any suggestions for stops or routes. Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to help us prepare for this amazing trip!

Bonjour - Mon mari et moi même vivons en Thailande depuis qqs années. Cette année, du au Covid, nous avons décidé de ne pas rentrer en Europe pour diverses raisons. Nous avons donc décidé de faire le tour de Thailande pendant 3 semaines ou 4 semaines au départ de Krabi où nous avons notre résidence secondaire. J'ai préparé un trajet, mais j aimerais avoir vos conseils Tout d abord conseillez vous de réserver les hotels ou BB au jour le jour - Nous avons envie de visiter à notre rythme, et rester sur place plus de nuits que prévues si le coeur nous en dit. Pouvez vous aussi, si vous êtes golfeur me dire où nous devrions nous poser plus longtemps afin de faire un petit parcours de golf. Voici le trajet auquel j ai pensé KRABI - Bang Saphan (2 nuits) - Sam Roi Yot - (2 nuits) - Kanchanaburi (2 nuits) - Chainat (1 nuit) - Mae Sot (2 nuits) - Lampang (1nuit) - Chiang Mai (3 nuits) - Chiang Rai (2 nuits) - Nan - (1 nuit) - Phitsalunok (3 nuits) - Loei (2 nuits) - Petchabun ou Chian Khan ou Sri Chiangmai (je suis un peu perdue par là ...... (2 nuits) - Hua Hin (qqs nuits) avant de reprendre la route vers Krabi.

Est ce envisageable ? Le nombre de nuits est il correct par rapport aux visites sur place

Der Kreis schliesst sich. La boucle est bouclée. Ca m'embête un peu car je n'ai pas laissé de consigne. Je ne reverrai donc pas München. C'est au temple de Bantaï qu'on m'incinérera.

J'ai posé mon gros sac à l'épicerie. Le temps de visiter un petit bungalow. 2500 bahts au mois. Affaire conclue.

Les jours passent. On a fait tirer une ligne adsl sur les cocotiers depuis la ring road. Ca fonctionne quand l'électricité n'est pas coupée.

A l'épicerie, je retrouve le soir mes voisins autour d'une Chang. Olaf, Sven, Kurt le Bernois. Parfois Skippy, un allemand qui habite la jolie maison derrière notre cabane.

Fin d'après-midi, on part au bout du chemin. Au bord de mer. Paï thale. On y regarde l'horizon, cette île en face, les enfants qui jouent dans les vaguelettes du récif.

Les pluies ont commencé il y'a deux semaines. La nuit le jour. Les croassements des crapeaux rendent les conversations difficiles. Je patauge à l'aide d'une lampe-frontale pour rejoindre l'épicerie.

Noï, la compagne de Kurt le Bernois me dit qu'un type qui parle français a débarqué.

Oui, j'ai perdu mon passeport à Suvarnaphumi en attente du vol pour Samui. Mais là, coup de bol, une dame qui nettoye les sièges et tout le bordel, le trouve. On m'appelle en loud-speaker et c'est mon nom. Donc là, honnêtement je suis ivre en fin de course et les types arrivent à contacter ma copine sur l'île et me balancent dans l'avion. Je me rappelle plus. Mais elle est là, à l'arrivée.

Bonjour à tous. Je sais que la question à déjà été posée mais j'aimerais vraiment savoir combien de temps les speedboats mettent pour faire le trajet koh lipé / Phuket.

J'ai cru comprendre qu'ils faisaient plusieurs escales sur d'autres îles et nous avons un vols international au départ de Phuket à 18 h.

Pensez-vous que cela serait trop juste de partir le jour même du vol ou c'est largement faisable?

Sachant que l'on entend des temps de trajet qui vont du simple au double " de 3h à 6h" et sur la tigerline ils proposent des départs à 9h00 arrivé à 13h45. Est-ce fiable ou pas?
