Mon fils part Vivre en Nouvelle Caledonie en fevrier( il part à l'aventure ) et le problème est le choix de la banque . Comment faire pour ne pas voyager avec son argent . J'aurais voulu que ceux qui ont été confrontés à ce problème me répondent . bien sur il a un compte en France au Credit maritime qui n'est pas représenté là-bas . Il a une carte visa . Il aurait voulu ëtre au clair avec sa banque avant de partir . C'est à dire fermer son compte en France afin d'eviter les frais de gestions ou autres . Et redemarrer là-bas . Nous avions pensé à la poste pensant qu'on pouvait ouvrir un compte içi avant de partir et le retrouver là-bas . Une internaute du Forum vient de me repondre ( merçi beaucoup ) et me conseille de voir avec ma banque . Le problème c'est que comme ils n'ont rien là-bas, ils s'en foutent ! leur seule réponse a été : - ça va vous couter des frais Pour faire le transfert .

je n'habite pas en nouvelle-calédonie mais a tahiti ou je pense le probléme est le même : Le franc pacifique...
Je ne pense pas que le caillou soit passé à l'euro donc gros probléme avec les banques. Avant nous avions le trésor public mais... terminé. La poste .... elle doit être indépendante comme la notre et même si elle pourrait authoriser les chéques en euro attention aux frais.
Le mieu est la cloture de son compte en france et ouverture d'un compte dans une banque de la place en évitant les transferts vers la métropole (gros frais, parfois supérieurs au montant transférer).

🙂La Calédonie n'est pas le Sahara, c'est un territoire français et on trouve a Nouméa les grandes banques françaises et des distributeurs de billets comme partout. Ne comptez pas sur les banquiers français pour vous renseigner, il ne savent pas ce qu'est le statut du territoire ! Pensez que le change CFP/ EURO est gratuit, sauf si vous débitez des chèques CFP en euros et vice-versa. C'est une parité fixe, et les billets en CFP sont émis par la Banque de France.
Ce qu'il est possible de faire, c'est de demander à son banquier d'augmenter la somme dont on peut disposer par semaine avec la carte bleue, ou d'avoir plusieurs cartes.
Bon voyage, la Calédonie est un très beau pays, mais il faut l'aimer pour qu'il vous rende la pareille !

Merçi Onibaba pour votre réponse . Je suis allée à la poste de ma ville qui me dit que mon fils n'aura pas de problème si il ouvre un compte chez eux avant de partir . La poste Caledonnienne est l'OPT et D'après eux c'est la même chose qu'en France . Donc si il ouvre un compte içi, il le retrouve là-bas en justifiant son identité . Car comme je vous l'expliquais, il souhaite fermer son compte actuel au credit maritime pour ne plus rien avoir avec eux . Et je pensais que l'avantage, c'est que la poste on la trouve partout, dans la moindre petite bourgade, c'etait l'idéal . Il aurait donc sa carte bancaire de la poste pour partir . Si il garde sa carte actuelle, il sera forcement encore attaché au credit maritime qui lui facturera des frais .
De plus, je me suis laisser dire que les banques caledoniennes sont rétissantes dans un premier temps pour donner une carte banquaire aux nouveaux arrivants car trop de metropolitains sont partis sans laisser d'adresse . Ce que je comprends fort bien . Je pense que l'on va opter pour cette solution .

il faut se mefier; les banques locales n'ouvrent pas de compte au personne en sejour temporaire ( même pour une durée de 4 mois),
avant de stopper son compte en metropole, il ferait mieux de s'assurer d'avoir son compte ici.

J'ai été en NC pour le boulot pendant un an et je n'ai pas ouvert un seul compte, j'ai utilisé ma carte Visa classique pour effectuer le retrait, sans frais bancaire.
Comme c'est dit, un peu plus haut, il faut demander l'autorisation d'augmenter la capacité de retrait.

Il va faire le choix de la poste, ça simplifie tout . Il aura sa carte, son compte à L'opt et on pourra lui versé son salaire dès qu'il trouvera du boulot .
C'est bien d'ouvrir un compte à la poste mais il vaut mieux qu'avant de partir votre fils dépose à sa banque une autorisation écrite autorisant la banque à faire des transactions par fax. C'est une sécurité au cas où il a des problèmes. Il me semble que le compte ouvert en France ne sera pas le même qu'à Nouméa. Il faudra qu'il ouvre un compte ici. Dans ce cas quand il aura ouvert son compte il pourra donner des ordres par fax au banquier de France. C'est un conseil que m'a donné ma banque. Celà facilitera toutes ses opérations.

Nous avions aussi ce problème de banque avant d'aller vivre à Nouméa (c'est pour début février) :
J'ai pu ouvrir, de France, un compte auprès de l'opt.nc qui est une structure presque pareille à la Banque Postale en métropole (c'est une cousine en quelque sorte).
Nous avons reçu un dossier à remplir, à faire viser par notre banquier d'ici, et sous 3 semaines, nous avons eu des relevés d'identité postale, des renseignements sur les tarifs, sur les cartes utilisables là-bas etc ..
On a même pu commander un chèquier (à condition de faire un premier virement sur ce nouveau compte).
Tape opt.nc et tu pourras entrer en communication avec ces services ..

P.s : j'ai oublié de te dire que nous prenons le minimum de liquidités (50euros) échangeables à Nouméa sans problème.
Puis des chèques-voyages (pas plus de 150 euros).
C'est effectivement la poste, devenue banque postale, qui a été la plus pertinente pour nous ouvrir un compte sur place (nous étions déjà clients en métropole).
C'est vrai, il faut chercher par soi-même, mon conseiller d'ici n'a pas été capable de me renseigner dans un premier temps (il faut dire que ce cas ne se présente pas tous les jours !!)
Un conseil si je peux me permettre : une fois que ton fils aura ouvert un compte en Nelle Calédonie, tu pourras lui envoyer le solde de son compte français par virement international (payant sauf si tu as vidéo-poste France)

Moi j'avais pensé qu'il ouvre un compte une fois sur place . Et pour eviter le virement du solde de son compte içi vers Nouméa, il prenait la carte "Realys" de la poste qu'on utilise comme une visa . C'est pas mal comme carte, quand tu n'as plus d'argent, tu ne peux plus tirer . Comme ça t'es fixé .

Pourquoi des chèques-voyage ? pour éviter de transporter trop de liquide, les chèques-voyage sont signés par toi en allant les chercher à la banque et si tu les perds, personne ne peux les encaisser à ta place ..
Effectivement, ça fait trop juste pour ouvrir un compte postal de France à Nouméa, mais ton fils pourra se rendre à l'Office des Postes et Télécommunications de Nouméa (aussi appelé centre financier), 7, rue Eugène Porcheron - Tél 26 88 00. La rue se trouve entre le Musée et le Commissariat de Police.
Une pièce d'identité devrait suffire pour ouvrir un compte courant (peut-être en plus une justification de domicile à Nouméa ? - notre cas est différent puisque mon mari est muté)
Tu pourras toujours lui faire un virement international simple pour le solde de son compte français, dès qu'il aura un relevé d'identité bancaire de nouvelle-Calédonie.

De toutes façons il existe une carte locale gratuite des ccp qui permet de faire des retraits dans les distributeurs de la poste (comme tu dis, quand tu n'as plus d'argent, t'es fixé) et aussi de payer les commerçants locaux.
Evidemment, en ouvrant un compte, il faut verser un minimum dessus, donc dans le cas de ton fils, il vaut peut-être mieux qu'il emmène de quoi l'alimenter pour le début.

Je te conseille de conserver un compte bancaire en France et signer un virement permanent pour que cette banque française envoie l'argent à tes créanciers (en veillant à ce que le comtpe soit approvisionné !)
Oui, tu peux faire des virements de NC à France mais renseigne-toi bien car certaines banques font payer les virements et d'autres non ..
Un exemple : la Société Générale de Nouméa accepte un virement par mois GRATUIT sur un compte de France métropolitaine (qui n'est pas forcément une succursale de la Sté Générale).

Votre compte postal français n'est pas accessible à la poste de Nouvelle calédonie, même avec une pièce d'identité ! On vous a induit en erreur. Il n'y a pas de ramification bancaire entre l'OPT calédonienne et la poste française. Les virements bancaire d'une banque française à une banque caledonienne peuvent atteindre 2, 5 mois, c'est une experience personnelle et pas unique d'après des temoignages. Augmenter sa capacité de retrait me semble une bonne solution et savoir que l'on peut emmener jusqu'à 7000 euros en espèces net de frais. La vie est chere, mieux vaut surestimer sa capacité de retrait.
