Oui avec 1200 € tu as en assez pour vivre normalement, je ne vis pas encore en Thaïlande mais connaît très bien ce pays .
J'ai des amis qu'ils y vivent c'est leur budget des autres moins même .

Logement, nourriture, voiture, assurance maladie, visa, billet d'avion pour la France, ...?
Et que veux dire "bien vivre"? climatisation toute l'annee, une maison avec 3 chambres pour recevoir les amis, nourriture francaise de temps en temps, voiture, ...? ou un bungalow sans eau chaude, de la nourriture thaie basique, transports en commun, ...?
1200 € pour deux (+ les toutous) c'est assez pour vivre sur place tranquillement, compte 200/300 € pour un logement. Par contre pour les voyages faudra utiliser le bus. Pas sûr que Koh Chang soit le meilleur endroit pour s'installer, mais si ça vous plait...
Nous on tourne à 1, 000 € par mois à deux + un matou pour logement, nourriture et petites dépenses quotidiennes.

une petite maison sans prétention, avec une ou deux chambres, eau chaude, clime en option.2 scooters achetés, nourriture locale bien sur !!! et de temps a autre un bon repas francais !!! nous avons un petit pécule pour les imprévu, mais la question qui nous préoccupe le plus c'est l'assurance maladie.Quelqu'un peut-il nous renseigner? Il y a maintenant bien longtemps que je vis a Phuket et j'ai besoin de 1000 a 1100 euros par mois pour vivre. Dans ce budget, il y a la location de la maison, l'electricite, le telephone (internet), le carburant pour le pick-up et le chopper, le poisson pour le chat, ma femme (thaie), une ou deux ch'tites bieres de temps en temps + les frais imprevus. Nous allons de temps a autre au restaurant mais quand nous y allons, ce n'est pas pour manger un khrao pat.
Tout ca pour dire qu'on peut vivre avec 1000 euros par mois mais c'est sans faire le fou.
Le salaire minimum dans ce pays etant de 182 bath/jour (par jour ai-je ecrit), il est possible de vivre avec bcp moins de 1.200 euros par mois mais vous ne tiendriez pas longtemps a ce regime-la.
En resume, avec 1.200 euros, vous allez passer du bon temps.
Pour une assurance maladie, la prime est calculee selon l'age et aussi selon la couverture. Plus la prime est eleve, plus le choix des hopitaux est grand.
Pour ma femme et moi, cela nous coute 24.000 bath par an. Les petits "bobos" ne sont pas couverts.
Il m'est difficile de donner plus de precisions sans relire le contract mais c'est accessible sur le net. Si vous voulez en savoir plus, je vous enverrai le lien dans votre boite perso.
Pensez a prevoir un budget d'installation pour les motos, les meubles, des appareils menagers, ...
Pour l'assurance, si vous voyagez souvent a l'etranger, pensez a prendre une couverture "monde". Le moins cher est de prendre une assurance en Thailande. "blue cross" est serieux. Par contre, je ne connais pas les tarifs en Thailande.

Concernant l'assurance maladie, il existe plusieurs choix : La CFE (caisse des français à l'étranger) dont la cotisation est calculée en fonction des revenus et qui ne rembourse que 70 %, comme en France. À mon avis, totalement inutile pour un pays comme la Thaïlande où la consultation dans un bon hôpital privé coûte de 120 à 150 Baths (3 Euros = 2, 10 remboursés, sans compter qu'il faut leur fournir des factures en français ou en anglais).
Par contre, il est vivement conseillé de prendre une bonne assurance hospitalisation. Une caisse privée Thaïlandaise. Les montants couverts sont généralement limités. Il suffisent pour les accidents, traumatismes ou certaines maladies graves mais curables, par contre ils sont très rapidement épuisés en cas de pathologie grave demandant des soins à long terme (par exemple rééducation après une fracture, radiothérapie, etc.).
ATTENTION À LA LIMITE D'ÂGE qui est généralement de 65 ans !!!

A la CFE (j'etais Assure a la Caisse de Securite sociale en France, je n'ai eu aucun probleme (expatrie a 67 ans et 6 mois )
La CFE présente en effet les caractéristiques originales de la Sécu française : assurance "familiale" et pas de limite d'âge.
Par contre, il faut avoir un "matelas" de cash car les sommes avancées ne seront remboursées (à 60% environ !) que plusieurs mois après ...

avec mon amie, on paie $300 par mois de loyer sur bangkok pour un petit appart, toutefois bien place, donc j'imagine que pour une petite maison a koh chang, ca devrait etre guere plus cher
si vous bossez pour un employeur, et si vous n'etes pas a votre compte oubliez la CFE
demandez plutot un contrat medical IMS, la CFE c'est cher pour ce que c'est et ca couvre a peine vu que c'est sur la base de la secu, en Europe, ca couvre peut etre, mais a l'etranger, les frais medicaux grimpent rapidement, d'ou l'IMS qui couvre a 100% au premier dollar sans avance de frais
pour l'asie, le cashless se fait aupres de pas mal d'etablissements publics et prives dont les SOS international
j'ai calcule, a 2, on depense sans se priver environ $800 à $1000 par mois

Rentré de samui il y a une semaine, je ne pourrais pas trop t'informer sur les couvertures solciales et autre info du genre.
Par contre je connais bien l'ile.
Pour y vivre je te conseil le sud.
Plus beau, moins de touriste et de nombreuses maison a vendre, terrains, etc...
Sud ouest vers phangka ou sur est , au sud de lamai.
c'est vraiement les plus beaux endroits que l'on ai vu.
le nord est étant plus dédié a la vie nocturne et aux touristes.
Je suis aussi a la recherche d'infos, car nous comptons partir vivre la bas et monter une affaire si possible.

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
