Notre agence ne peut annuler le voyage et nous n'avons pas d'assurance annulation. Je voulais savoir s'il est possible rendu sur place de changer de destination en discutant avec un représentant. Connaissez-vous des gens à qui cette situation est arrivé ? Est-il possible de le faire ?
Nous voudrions aller à Punta Cana (République) à partir de Cuba (Varadero). Cependant, nous avons déjà un forfait tout inclus du 15 au 22 juin à Varadero. Je voulais savoir si je pouvais, rendu sur place, faire de changement.
Vous ne pourrez pas changer de pays une fois rendu à Cuba. Votre tour opérateur n'opère pas de vols entre ces deux pays. Si vous voulez aller en RD à partir de Cuba, vous devrez vous arranger tout seul, et ça sera cher. De plus, les vols entre Cuba et la RD partent de Habana (2h de route de Varadero) ou Santiago et attérissent à Santo Domingo (environs 3h de route).
En fait, la raison est qu'il annonce un temps totalement merdique durant nos vacances, et cela semble moins pire en RP, bien que ça demeure dans les caraïbes. Est-il possible de changer de villes à Cuba, si exemple il annonce du beau temps à Holguin, etc...Vous allez sûrement me dire ne pas me fier aux sites de météo, mais plusieurs m'ont écris comme quoi ils arrivaient de Cuba et qu'ils ont passé une semaine complète sous la pluie.
Et petite précision: même si vous aviez une assurance annulation, elle ne peut s'appliquer qu'en cas d'urgence médicale pour vous ou quelqu'un de proche de vous.. aucunement en cas de..... pluie. Malheureusement, ça fait partie des risques du voyage, n'importe où dans le monde. Mais il ne pleuvra probablement pas tout le temps!

Changer de ville implique de payer le déplacement et probablement un extra pour l'hôtel. En plus du temps de déplacement. Il y a au moins 8h de route entre Varadero et Holguin.
La météo annonce toujours du mauvais temps à Cuba en cette saison, mais c'est peu souvent le cas. Vous pourriez très bien changer d'endroit et avoir du mauvais temps à cet autre endroit. La seule chose que vous pouvez faire est d'espérer pour le mieux et de planifier pour le pire en amenant des choses qui vous permettront de passer le temps s'il pleut.

La météologie n'est pas une science exacte à 100% les gens font des modelisation des fois ça tombe bien des fois non même ici on a dejà vu ça. Moi je vous conseille de vous rendre sur place et de demander quelles sont les prévisions pour la semaine. vous vous decidez si vous devriez rester ou non
La region Holguin serait bien vu qu'il y a une secheresse dans cette zone occidentale.
Mais c'est ridicule!!!! Vous partez dans une semaine, comment vous pouvez vous fier à la météo??? Les météorologistes Cubains ne sont pas meilleurs que les notres, et ici on a de la misère à avoir des prévisions exactes à 3 jours d'avance!!!
Ben oui, ils prévoient de la pluie à Cuba!... Au cas où vous ne seriez pas au courant, juin c'est LA SAISON DES PLUIES!!!! Pis c'est pareil partout à Cuba, pis partout dans les Caraïbes!!!
Pis changer de ville, oubliez ça!!! Ça prend 3 jours pour se faire changer de chambre (dans le même hôtel!) si tu ne donnes pas un tip à quelqu'un, imaginez changer de ville, juste parce qu'il PLEUT!!! Rien ne vous empêche de prendre un taxi ou l'autobus Viazul jusqu'à Holguin et louer une chambre au plein prix, mais jamais votre voyagiste ne vous remboursera une cenne.
À en croire tout le monde, les sites météo et le métier même de météorologue devait être à proscrire ! Évidemment, qu'on ne peut pas suivre à la lettre les prévisions, mais ces sites nous donne tout de même de bons indices des tendances générales. Je n'ai pas fait une thèse dans le domaine, mais après avoir vérifier 30 sites météo et que la plupart indiquent un genre de dépression à partir du 16 juin, j'imagine qu'ils se sont tous appelés hier soir et s'amusent à créer des prévisions pour le plaisir...
Une dame qui revient tout juste de Cuba, m'a confirmé qu'elle a passé une semaine enfermée dans son hôtel à cause des nuages et pluie pendant 7 jours consécutifs. Oui malchance, vous me direz, mais l'argument de cette supposée pluie brève en fin de journée vient de foutre le camp. Et l'autre argument du «restons positif et prions le seigneur» n'en n'est pas plus très rassurant. Revenons sur terre

Pour répondre à votre question, j'étais AU COURANT que c'était la saison des pluies, mais on tient compte aussi de nos disponibilités en tant que voyageur et aussi de nos propres moyens financiers. Si vous croyez réellement que je m'en prend à des gens sur ce forum, je vous suggère d'aller lire mes anciens messages dans vos temps libres et vous verrez que je demeure très courtoise dans mes communications contrairement à bien des gens sur ce forum. Moi je suis d'accord avec Greenwood puisque payer pour se prélasser au soleil et ne pas pouvoir le faire, jouer aux cartes et lire des livres quand on peut si bien le faire chez soi par choix et non par dépit du mauvais temps, c'est frustrant.
On travaille toute l'année pour s'offrir un ou deux voyages puis on ne peut même pas en profiter.
Cette année j'étais en saison sèche à Cancun puis sur 10 jours j'ai eu seulement 3 jours avec des éclaircies. Il a eu de la pluie très peu en effet, mais à 23-25, venteux ciel gris opaque c'est déprimant... J'avais les genoux et toutes les extrémités froides, je n, avais pas soif donc je ne profitais pas du bar, et pas chaud donc ça me tentait pas du tout de me jeter à la mer... C'est pourquoi ça ne me tente plus de voyager en tout-inclus maintenant, moins souvent en tout cas.
Je pense plus à visiter l'Europe etc... quand le ciel est gris on s'en fou, c'est pour faire les musés et les châteaux, pas pour flâner à la plage etc...
L'été, pour la chaleur sèche, je te suggère le sud-ouest américain ( dans cette période, tous mes voyages réunis en californie, nevada, arizona, utah donc 7 semaines) j'ai seulement eu un après-midi de pluie. Pas de tout-inclus, mais un régal pour les yeux, des paysages hors de l'ordinaire, hotel pas cher, voiture de loc pas cher, essence pas cher, bon rapport us/$ etc... Plages très belles, eau du colorado très rafraîchissante et pure ( lac mead et lac powell ) 27 au bord de la mer à 45 max .celcius dans les terres ( sec et tout de même agréable )
Il y a la Turquie ( balnéaire bodrum ou antalya )
Idem pour la Tunisie et le Maroc
L'Espagne et le Portugal ( oh combien ravissant! )
Un tout-inclus dans ces endroits varie entre 1100 à 2000 $ la semaine, mais c'est 32-39 sec assuré !
Pour le reste, je te comprend Greenwood, et si ta semaine tu ne peux pas la changer ( regarde avec sunwing pour le sud de l'Europe ) et que la pluie te hante, il est peut-être temps pour toi de découvrir d'autres horizons, de t'organiser la prochaine fois un autre genre de voyage, et qui sait, cette expérience que tu crois si mauvaise pourrais t'apporter plus de bien que tu penses à tes prochains voyages !

Je suis parfaitement d'accord avec toi. Si on tient à avoir du beau temps pendant ses vacances, on planifie le voyage en conséquence (endroit + période de l'année).
Je ne dis pas que la température n'a pas d'importance. Je ne dis pas que le mauvais temps ne gâche pas des vacances dans le sud.
Ce que je dis c'est qu'il faut s'informer avant de réserver pour savoir à quoi s'attendre, mais une fois qu'on a réservé, c'est trop tard pour changer quoi que ce soit, alors c'est tout à fait inutile de s'angoisser avec la température qu'il fera et de surveiller 30 sites internet pour savoir s'il fera beau ou non.
Maria a parfaitement raison de plus il y a personne qui peut vous dire avec exactitude que cette semaine il fera beau. Il y a tellement de choses qui peuvent gâcher une semaine de voyage. Pour ceux qui ne le savent dans les Caraibes il n'y a pas les 4 saisons comme ici. il y a 2 periodes sèches ou pluvieuses qui s'echelonne sur l'année
donc saison sèche tu as decembre janvier et fevrier et juin juillet aôut. Cela ne veut pas dire que durant cette periode vous auriez pas une goutte de pluie. L'année dernière, j'etais à Holguin on a eu 2 journées de pluie succesive mais il s'agissait d'une tempête. C'est sur que tu peux avoir durant la journée ou la nuit une averse très forte de quelques minutes.
En fait, la saison sèche à Cuba est de novembre à fin avril, et la saison des pluies de mai à début novembre. Pendant les saisons des pluies, il y a généralement moins de pluie en juillet et août. Le mois de juin est le plus pluvieux de toute la saison... À part ça, personne ne peut prévoir. Vous pouvez avoir une semaine magnifique en septembre et une semaine maussade en février. Personne ne peut prédire, surtout pas à l'avance.

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
