Nous prévoyons d'aller pour la première fois aux Philippines du 05 décembre 2019 au 21 janvier 2020. Arrivée et départ de Manille.
Nous avons l'habitude de voyager en Asie sac à dos et chambres d’hôtes.
Nous serions très preneurs de vos idées de circuits pour visiter les bons endroits et les bons plans, avec transferts, bus, ferrys et avion.

Je reporterais de un mois ce voyage a votre place. Decembre est souvent tres pluvieux aux Philippines.Du nord au sud. 🤪
En fait, nous avons 2 dates, soit du 05 décembre au 17 janvier, soit du 17 janvier au 03 mars 2020.
Est-ce que c'est évident pour tout le monde que la 2ème période est la plus favorable ?

Comme Raph, je choisirais sans hésiter la 2ième période.😉
Par exemple, Vous pouvez commencer par Palawan(Port Barton-el Nido), Coron, retour à Manille , puis vol pour Camiguin, Bohol, Siquijor, Apo island, Dumaguete, Moalboal, Bantayan, retour à Manille(depuis l'aéroport de Cébu), puis bus pour Banaue afin de faire un trek pour voir les rizières, la montagne, et retour un jour avant à Manille pour visiter la ville et etre sur d'avoir votre vol retour...😉

Bien, voyant que vous êtes tous formels, nous choisissons la deuxième période.
Pour le moment, nous n'avons prévu aucun circuit, et nous sommes parfaitement ouverts à toutes les bonnes idées. Je suis simplement en train de regarder le circuit de Bruno, qui a l'air quand même de sortir des sentiers battus, et ça, c'est plaisant.
A partir de cette base, merci de me donner votre avis également.
Je commencerais par les rizieres de Luzon.Puis vol (ou ferry)pour Coron puis El Nido.De Puerto Princesa vol vers Cebu pour faire les Visayas.Au final, vol de Camiguin pour Cebu et dans la foulee
vol pour Manille.

Pour les rizières, y a t'il un moyen aérien de s'y rendre ou c'est toujours le fameux bus de nuit ?
Sinon, quel aéroport ?
Su un circuit de 46 jours (ou peut-être même 54 jours, on regarde . . ), quels sont les vols intérieurs évidents que vous nous conseillez.
Vol MANILLE - BUSUANGA pour CORON ? PALAWAN avec descente vers EL NIDO, PORT BARTON, puis vol PUERTO PRINCESA - CAMIGUIN ? LES VISAYAS puis vol CEBU - MANILLE ?
Cela ferait 3 vols intérieurs. Utiles, nécessaires ? D'autres ?
Enfin, comment partager la durée.

C'est mieux de commencer par les rizieres a la mi-Janvier, il y fera beau.Vous pouvez prendre un vol de Manille a Tugugarao.Puis rejoindre Tabuk en van (45mn).Y passer une nuit au Golden
Berries hotel.Puis, le lendemain matin vers 7-8h prendre soit un van, soit un jeepney pour
Tinglayan.Dormir au Riverside Inn de Luplupa.Faire un trek au village de Buscalan(tatouage).
Puis rejoindre Sagada via Bontoc. Ensuite redescendre a Banaue.Rejoindre Manille pour votre prochaine destination.
2 choix, soit le big ferry Manille-Coron, voir sur Travel 2GO, trajet de nuit,12heures. Soit vol de
Manille.A vous de voir combien de jours vous voulez restez a Coron et Palawan. De puerto Princesa prendre un vol pour Cebu(Mactan).Faire quelques iles des Visayas.Prendre le ferry a
Jagna(Bohol) pour Camiguin.Puis reprendre un vol pour Cebu et dans la foulee le vol final pour
revenir a Manille.Janvier et parfois Fevrier peuvent etre assez pluvieux dans les Visayas, raison
pour laquelle je vous le conseille en dernier.

A titre personnel, j'aurai fini avec les rizières de Banaue-Batad en me disant que le temps serait un plus propice qu'en début de voyage mais sans garantie.(peut-être je me trompe).Que plus on se rapproche d'avril(avril est l'un des mois ou il fait beau partout aux Philippines), plus vous avez de chances d'avoir du soleil.Mais Je n'habite pas Banaue .

Je prendrais le bus ohayami(ohayamitrans.com) entre 550 et 600p environ mais 8 h de trajet environ la nuit.Prévoir un pull, un jean, car le bus est très froid.

Par rapport au circuit que je vous ai proposé, Manille-Puerto Princessa, Manille -Camiguin, Cebu-Manille pour les vols(cebupacificair.com).Pour le reste, je choisirais le ferry, bateau, bangka moins cher que l'avion(Cebu pacific) et parfois la seule possibilité pour passer d'ile en ile vous pourrez réserver vos ferrys moins tot avant le départ.El Nido-Coron-Manille;Camiguin-Bohol-siquijor, etc...

Pour 46 jours, Je resterais 4 à 5 jours par destination sauf Apo Island 1 à 2 jours, le dernier jour pour Manille, sans grand intérêt, à titre personnel(Visite d'intra muros+ rizal park).Il faut compter 1/2 journée à 1 jour de transport entre 2 destinations.
A noter que le nouvel An chinois commence le 25 janvier 2020.Donc, il vaut mieux que vous regardiez de temps en temps sur Cebu pacific pour choper une belle promotion et prévoir aussi ou parfois vos réservations pour votre logement(el nido).La demande est plus importante à ce moment et de plus, c'est la haute saison sur les Philippines.

Difficile de se définir d'abord sur l'idée, les rizières au début ou les rizières à la fin, les avis étant partagés . . . .
Grace à vous et à Raph, j'ai effectué une ébauche de voyage qui est la suivante, et qui me laisse environ 7 jours de disponible pour ajouter ou allonger les destinations.

Pour Pamilacan , ok pour 4 jours mais à condition d'adorer le snorkelling (le spot est assez grand mais pas immense), d'aimer buller, lire l'après-midi, regarder la plage, se promener, discuter avec les locaux et ne pas aimer bouger.Je vous préviens, l'ile est très petite.Si vous etes très actif et vous voulez voir de nouvelles choses à un rythme soutenu, peut-être 4 jours sont peut-être longs.
A titre personnel, si je devais refaire mon voyage à Bohol, j'aurais fait 3 à 4 jours à Anda(belle plage), et j'aurai chercher des endroits pour snorkeller(louer un scooter), +caves+ chutes d'eau+ rizières+ ile de lamanok+ 1 jour pour visite tarsier+ chocolates hills(louer un scooter)+2 jours à Pamilacan+ 1 matinée pour le hopping island (départ d'alona beach+ dauphins+ snorkelling à balicasag+virgin island+ retour à Alona)+ l'après-midi à buller sur la plage dimuluan+ grotte d'Hinagdanan(Panglao)
Tagbilaran n'a pas un gros intérêt.
Pareil pour Apo island, si vous adorez le snorkelling et ne pas faire grand chose, c'est parfait mais si vous aimez bouger,4 jours , cela peut etre long.
J'espère que vous n'allez pas rester 3 jours à Banaue mais effecter un trek dans la région.
L'idéal serait de réserver seulement la 1ère nuit, comme cela, si vous plaisez à un endroit , vous pouvez rester autant de temps qu'il vous plait mais le hic, le nouvel an chinois commence le 24 janvier 2020.Cela dépend aussi de vos gouts, de votre style de voyage, si vous planifiez de A à Z en réservant tout à l'avance ou vous restez au gré de vos envies.Si vous bougez beaucoup, prévoir au moins un jour de récupération entre les transferts des iles, pour vous reposer.

Comme dit Cinephil, Tagbilaran n'a aucun interet, plutot rester sur Panglao, pas besoin de dormir a Alona beach, a l'arriere a quelques centaines de metres il y a plein d'hotels pas cher et tranquille.
A votre place je commencerais par le centre de Luzon, puis vol ou ferry de Manille a Coron.Puis

perso à chaque fois que je vais à Bohol, je loge à Tagbilaran, avec un scooter on peut facilement aller à la plage, et c'est plus typique et moins cher .....après, chacun son truc of course...

concernant ton itinéraire, juste quelques remarques totalement perso, hein, les endroits ça dépend vraiment des envies de chacun...
Apo 3 jours, ça fait beaucoup, c'est minuscule et rien à faire, pas même de belle plage, à part voir 3 tortues, bof....
EL Nido 4 jours, pareil, dans un autre style, je suis pas fan : on dirait une station balnéaire Thaî des années 80 : constructions anarchiques et pas de tout-à-l’égout, OK si tu en a marre du poulet frit et tu veux manger une bonne pizza ou des bons shushis....par contre les tours sont bien, enfin les paysages sont beaux (même dans un bateau remplis de chinois)....
Port Barton par contre je peux y passer une semaine sans problème....
Sur l'ile de Luzon, vous avez aussi Vigan, pour l'architecture de ses maisons coloniales.Si vous aimez le surf ou vous voulez essayer, Baler.Vous avez le mont Pinatubo(randonnée autour du volcan)
Camiguin n'est pas si excentrée que cela.Elle est à 4 h de Bohol en ferry.

I’m planning a trip to Laos and have received several quotes. Among them, this agency’s seem very reasonable, and so far, the interactions have been positive.
I’ve found a few positive reviews online, but I’d love to hear from travelers who’ve actually booked with them: how’s the organization, guide quality, accommodations, on-the-ground responsiveness, etc.

First stop on our discovery of the peninsula: Amphawa. It’s our first night in Thailand (we arrived at Suvarnabhumi at 8:50 AM).
Our initial plan was to explore the area before heading further south. The Mae Klong Railway Market is tempting... but what else is there to do????
We’ll be there on a Wednesday, and from what I’ve read on the forum, some say there’s absolutely nothing to do during the week—no floating market, barely any shops open, no restaurants, etc.
Others, though, say the place is actually more charming without the weekend crowds.
Could you share your thoughts? Missing the floating market is one thing, but if it’s really a ghost town on Wednesdays, I might just drop our bags somewhere else.
Amphawa seemed like a good first stop, just 1.5 hours from the airport, but I’d still like to settle somewhere a bit lively for our first evening.

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

After 1 night in Khao Sok, I’d like to find a 2 Days 1 Night package on the lake.
After reading a lot, I decided to "break the bank" and treat ourselves to a private tour—mainly to avoid the crowds.
But after contacting several operators, they offer "private tours" that are very expensive (around 700 €), yet in the details, the boats can only leave from the pier at 10 AM like everyone else. (I was hoping to leave much earlier.) The morning program is the same for everyone too (private or not). They drop us off at noon at our floating hotel (I’d chosen Phupha Waree). Free afternoon (swimming or kayaking in front of the hotel). We head back by boat for a 1-hour sunset ride. And the next morning, we leave the hotel at 8 AM to be at the pier by 9:30 AM at the latest—end of the trip.
So basically, we’re paying a lot for a private tour just to do the same thing as everyone else at the same time.
Or maybe I just had bad luck in my search.
I contacted Panida Ladi, who’s very popular on forums. We’d agreed on a private tour that matched my request (departure from the pier at 8 AM, very personalized itinerary). We settled on the itinerary and price, she asked for a Wise transfer for a 30% deposit, confirmed receipt of the deposit. Then 30 minutes later, she messaged me to say she was canceling everything because it was impossible to do the requested tour—and promised a quick refund of my deposit.
So here’s my question: Who’s done a *real* private tour on this lake? Who can recommend a reliable agency? Is it even really possible to do a private tour here?

I'm planning to visit Cambodia this winter, right after Christmas, for my first solo trip and my first trip to Asia. For two weeks (yes, I know it's short, but I really can't do more...). I have two main desires: Siem Reap and the countryside, the villages, the Mekong...
What do you think of this itinerary? Arrival in Siem Reap, departure from Phnom Penh.
SR: 5 days (1 day for arrival, 3 for the temples, 1 for the lake and its villages)
Kratie (stop on the way to Mondolkiri): 3 days (1 day of travel, 2 days there)
Mondolkiri/Sen Monorom: 4 days (1 day of travel, 1 day there, 2 days of treks)
PP: 3 days (1 day of travel, 2 days of sightseeing)
I think I need to cut one day somewhere if I travel from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday. In Kratie, maybe? Or in PP? And I'll miss the boat trip that everyone recommends (SR-Battambang), but I don't see where to fit it in. Unless I do a PP-PP loop starting in the east, skip Kratie or just stay one night, then SR, then PP.
In my timing, Mondolkiri seems closer than Ratanakiri, which also tempted me a lot! Will it be too complicated alone? I'm thinking of using local guides or a small local agency for a nature and village getaway.
I've read that Siem Reap is very crowded between Christmas and New Year's. I could also do the circuit in the opposite direction. But I thought it would be easier to get familiar with the country by arriving in a touristy area—I might be wrong...

We’re a family of four with two teens aged 16 and 18. We’re heading to Thailand this summer. We’ll arrive in Bangkok and plan to take a flight to Luang Prabang.
I’ve seen there are some great visits and excursions to do (temples, markets, waterfalls) and maybe even venture a bit north to places like Nong Khiaw, Muang Xay, Muang Ngoy, or Oudom Xay.
But I’ve also heard about the Bokeo region with the Gibbon Experience.
Since we won’t be able to do everything, I’d love to hear about your experiences, impressions, and advice on the two options I’m considering, especially since we’ll be meeting family in Chiang Mai, Thailand, afterward.
Option 1: A loop from Luang Prabang heading slightly north, then a flight from Luang Prabang to Chiang Mai.
Option 2: A few days in Luang Prabang, exploring within a few dozen kilometers around, then heading to Bokeo province for the 2-day/1-night Gibbon Experience. For this option, I saw on Rome2Rio that it’s possible to book a ferry trip on the Mekong from Luang Prabang to Huay Xay—they mention about 8 hours. But is that realistic? What type of boat is it?
Then, to get to Chiang Mai, there aren’t many options—bus or minivan—but how does crossing the border work?
Finally, for those of you who’ve been to Laos in August, what was the weather like?
We’ve already visited Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia during the same period over the past four years and weren’t really bothered by bad weather.

Not long ago, I used to travel as a couple, but my husband has since passed away, and I’ve decided to set off again. The trip I took to Cambodia in January 2025 did me a world of good.
I’m now considering Thailand, a destination we never included in our plans because even 15 years ago, people said it was too touristy. Still, I’m thinking about the itinerary below, but I don’t feel up to arranging buses, trains, or guides on my own while I’m there. I’m looking for one or more drivers and have been in touch with an agency, but their offers are just copy-paste group tours that I don’t want.

- 2 nights in Sidemen (1 day for Pura Kehen + Batur Caldera + Pura Besakih and 1 day to relax in the rice terraces)
- 3 nights on Gili Meno (Rest and beaches) from Padangbai
- 2 nights in Amed (1 day from Padangbai with the Abang rice terrace and Tirta Gangga baths, and the next day a boat tour in Amed)
- 4 nights in Pemuteran (1 day for transfer and rest, 1 day to visit Kawah Ijen, and 2 days of snorkeling at Menjangan Island)
- 2 nights in Munduk (1 day with the Dayang rice terrace and the 3-waterfall hike, 1 day at Pura Ulun Danu Bratan)
- 2 nights in Jatiluwih (1 day in the rice terraces, and on the last day, we’ll stop by Pura Taman Ayun in Mengwi and Pura Tanah Lot before catching our red-eye flight).

I'm wondering about the direction of these stops, which could also influence our international flights.
Either a round trip from Phnom Penh in the order above.
Or landing in Siem Reap with the following order:
This second option would save us the Battambang - PP - Kampot trip but means doing a round trip to Battambang from Siem Reap and placing the "highlight of the trip" (Angkor) at the beginning of our stay.
