C'est la saison des pluies et vu qu'on est dans l'hémisphère sud ça correspond à notre été. Il fait donc chaud et humide. Mais tout dépend du versant de l'île. Les pluies peuvent parfois être torentielles.

Les moussons
Le terme de mousson est trompeur et n'a pas de rapport avec les moussons asiatiques par exemple, très pluvieuses. Il s'agit plutôt de courants marins apportant des algues sur les plages en particulier sur l'île de Praslin. La mousson d'hiver va de mai-juin à septembre, c'est une mousson du sud-est, avec un vent de 25 à 40 km idéal pour la voile et la planche à voile. Elle amène des algues sur les plages de Grande Anse et d'Anse Takamaka, à l'ouest de Praslin. La mousson d'été va de novembre à début mars, c'est une mousson du nord-ouest qui amène des algues sur la côte d'Or (Anse Volbert), l'Anse Possession et l'Anse Lazio, cependant en beaucoup moins grande quantité que la mousson d'hiver.
Je voulais te donner cet extrait pour que tu voies par toi-même. Par rapport à Mahé, Praslin est touché par la mousson en février, ce qui amène des algues (moins qu'en hiver).
On distingue une saison très chaude (en moyenne 32o) avec un air lourd et chargé d'humidité correspondant à leur été et allant de décembre à avril et une saison moins chaude (en moyenne 24o), plus sèche, correspondant à leur hiver de mai à septembre. Les saisons subissent l'influence modératrice de l'océan. Situées hors de la zone des cyclones, les tempêtes et les vents violents sont rares sur ces îles.
Le climat peut varier selon la latitude et selon le relief. Il pleut moins sur une île plate que sur une île escarpée comme Mahé par exemple.
La période touristique idéale se situe en principe dans les mi-saisons aux mois de mars, avril et novembre.

Cette année la pluie qui avait commencée en décembre à continuée jusque fin janvier pendant cette période ce sont de trés fortes pluies plusieures fois dans la journée il peut y avoir grand soleil en quelques minutes c'est le déluge il pleut moins à Praslin ou la Digue Notre expérience sur ces 16 derniéres années ou nous avons passé février à Praslin a partir du 20 nous n'avons pas eu de pluie a part quelques ondées passagéres de courte durée la meilleure période etant mars avril même s'il pleut en janvier février c'est l'été austral la température descent rarement sous 28°

chez l'habitant tu auras du mal à trouver il y a des petits byngalows à louer sympa notamment chez WARSTON bon c'est pas le luxe non plus mais tu es quand même à la Digue, on y mange très très très bien ton budget par jour est de combien ????

Nous avons passé 12 jours en cette année en février et nous avons été très satisfait du temps
Sur Praslin 3 jours de beau temps.
Sur la Digue 1/4 d'heure de pluie et le restant très beau temps.
Sur Mahé nous avons eu une demi journée de pluie, sinon le temps était mitigé ( beau ou nuageux).les locaux nous disait que l'île est plus grande et plus montagneuse donc le temps est plus incertain sur Mahé.
Nous étions à l'hotel complex Gregoire.
Je vous le conseille. Les chambres étaient propres, spacieuses et climatiseés.Il est très bien situé.
Le propriétaire de cet hotel est le même que celui du Digue Lodge.
Avantage: vous prenez d'excellents petits déjeuners au Digue Lodge, vous bénéficiez aussi de sa piscine et des sorties qu'organise le Digue Lodge .
Le prix de la chambre sera moins onéreuse qu'au Lodge( prévoir 150 Euros la chambre pour 1 nuit )
Nous en gardons un excellent souvenir et reprendrons cet hotel lorsque nous y retournerons.

I’ve planned a three-week itinerary for this summer, from August 9 to 27, in Sri Lanka:
Negombo – 1 night
Sigiriya and the Cultural Triangle – 4 nights
Kandy – 2 nights
Ella – 3 nights
Tangalle – 6 nights
Colombo Airport – 1 night
I know this isn’t the ideal time for the south since the beach conditions aren’t great, but we’ve booked a hotel with a pool and won’t be swimming in the sea. We want to relax after all the travel since we’re bringing our two kids, aged 6 and 8.
I know the east would be better, but (i) I’m struggling to find suitable accommodation, and (ii) it adds a lot of travel time, and my kids can only handle about 3 hours at a stretch.
I looked into Arugam Bay, but it’s a 7-hour trip back to Colombo from there.
I’ve checked every weather site imaginable, but they don’t all agree. Do you think we’ll spend our whole trip in the rain, or is the monsoon in the south mostly limited to the sea, as I’ve read?

The only other country we’ve visited during the rainy season is Brazil (in the northeast) around the same time, and honestly, aside from a few really annoying downpours, we had sunshine most of the time and it was awesome. That said, the climate is totally different, so I’m not sure how relevant the comparison is.

Personally, I see a promising opportunity here—jumping on this adaptation to extreme climates before others do, since they’re inevitably coming.
From my own travel experience, I’ve met a few guides so far who are starting to adjust, like in Egypt, Kenya, Senegal, and elsewhere.
They avoid crowds and the hottest hours by starting their tours around 6–7 AM, when it’s cooler.
Yeah, you’ve gotta wake up early, but the payoff is so worth it. 😴
