concernant mon petit voyage en thailande une petite question sur la plongée, j'ai déjà mon niveau 1 et j'ai pas envie de passer le 2, aussi je souhaitais savoir si les clubs proposent des packs genre 2 ou 3 plongées "normales" (avec le niveau 1) voire 1 de nuit.
Je sais que j'aurais pu chercher un peu mais comme c'est une demande un peu particulière je suis pas sur que j'aurais trouvé beaucoup de réponses sur le forum...
Bien sur! Tous les clubs (sauf ceux qui ne font que des croisières de plusieurs jours) proposent des day trip avec 2 ou 3 plongées.
L'idéal pour les day trip c'est Ko Tao car les sites sont très beaux et tous à 15 minutes de bateau de l'ile en moyenne.
Sinon tu as Phuket mais les distances sont plus longues (minimum 1h30 de bateau, sauf en speedboat). Tu peux aussi plonger de Phi Phi.
Il y a d'autres sites, notament autour de Ko Chang, mais moins intéressants.

avec mon fiancé, j'étais la semaine dernière à ko tao et nous avons tous les 2 le niveau 1;et bien, nous avons fait des plongées magnifiques (10 chacun/2 par jour) et c'était le top;on est descendu à 20 mètres tout le temps.
en fait, tu t'adresses à n'importe quel club et là il te propose 1 plongée à 1000 baths puis le prix diminue en fonction du nombre de plongées que tu effectues lors de ton séjour.pour ton info, pour 10 plongées on a payé 7000 baths (700*10);ensuite tu peux t'inscrire aussi pour la plongée de nuit;
en fait, il regarde comment tu te débrouilles lors de ta première plongée mais il ne te demande pas d'exercices!!!dès la 1ère plongée, c'est une vraie plongée et ça c'est bien.cela s'appelle les "dive fun" ou plongée plaisir car tout le monde ne va pas à ko tao pour passer son PADI loin de là!!!
n'oublie pas ton carnet de plongée pour qu'il voit ton niveau et surtout garde bien les yeux ouverts : on se croit dans un aquarium!!!!

Le problème c'est que j'ai passé le niveau 1 en Corse y a longtemps et que je suis pas sur de retrouver le carnet.

ben écoute, vaut mieux que tu aies ton carnet de plongée sinon c'est sûr ils vont te faire faire des plongées exercice quand même!!!mais bon tout est relatif, un vidage de masque, quelques signes sous l'eau pour voir comment tu te débrouilles dans une eau à 31° à 20 m avec des milliers de poissons, y a pire quand même!
sinon je te conseille d'amener un certificat médical fait par ton généraliste pour la plongée car certains centres le demandent (d'autres non) et ce serait dommage de perdre 1h ou 2 sur l'île à chercher un médecin pour un certif!de plus, ce certif est valable 1 an donc il pourra te resservir si tu plonges à un autre moment de l'année.
mais surtout te prends pas la tête (je sais on le fait ts un peu) car la thaïlande c'est le pays du sourire, de la débrouillardise, des non-embrouilles où tout est simple, rien à réserver, tout est facile et tout se trouve!suffit de sourire comme eux et ils sont ravis de te dénicher ce que tu veux!
Tu as plein d'infos sur Tao, en voici quelques unes sur Phuket.
Tout d'abord je me présente, je me nomme Valérie, je suis instructrice de plongée en free lance à Phuket depuis deux ans. Je connais bien les clubs pour travailler avec eux, et tous les sites de plongée du coin.
Le site le plus proche, Racha Yaï, est à une heure de bateau, et convient tout à fait au niveau 1. Ensuite tu as d'autres sites à 1h30 de bateau, Shark Point, Anemone Reef, King Cruiser (épave), Koh doc Maï, Racha Noï... plus à 3h de bateau ceux de Phi Phi.
Si tu es interessé, je peux facilement t'orienter vers les différents clubs et te communiquer leur tarif, ainsi que leur planning. Voire même, nous pouvons plonger ensemble, je m'occuper de tout, il suffit que tu me dises ce qui t'interesse et je peux t'organiser tes journées.
En revanche, essaye de trouver ton carnet de plongée, c'est comme si tu partais en voyage sans prendre ton passeport 🤪
Si Phuket est la destination que tu auras choisis, n'hésites pas à me faire signe..

Le plus bel endroit pour plonger en mer d'Andaman (cela n'engage que moi, evidemment) est Richelieu Rock, mais tu ne peux y acceder qu'à bord d'un bateau de croisière car c'est au nord des îles Similan et il vaut mieux être niveau 2 pour plonger sur ce site. Tu devrais lui offrir son N2 PADI (soit son Advanced Open Water Diver). 😉C'est une formation sur deux jours, 5 plongées
Comme vous etes sur Patong pour une courte période, il serait plus sympa pour lui de réserver une journée et plonger au sud de Phuket.
Anemone Reef, Shark Point, Racha Noï sont des sites trés sympas, ainsi que Koh Bida Nok et Naï vers Phi Phi Island.
Je suis sur Chalong, à 20mn en moto de Patong. Je me déplace fréquemment pour travailler dans les clubs de Patong.

comme tu peut le deviner je vient en famille avec tout les obligation que sa engage, j ai une petite fille de 2 et demis et dans l optique d y vivre je pense a sa scolarité future a sa santé(medecin, hopitale....)si tu connais de adresse pour chercher un logement(gite, location....) car on pense venir en début novembre pour voir si ont si sent bien dans un premier temps et dans le pire des cas ont fera de belle plongée
Il peut y avoir du boulot à Phuket pour un instructeur comme toi, seulement les places sont chères et il y a du monde à vouloir travailler. De mon côté, je suis indépendante, j’ai monté ma propre société avec mon compagnon l’année dernière afin d’obtenir plus facilement nos permis de travail.
Si tu viens en novembre, le mieux à faire c’est de te présenter dans les centres avec ton cv. La plupart d’entre eux auront déjà leurs équipes formées, car la saison démarre à cette période.
Les salaires ne sont pas mirobolants (on est loin des excellents salaires égyptiens) mais le coût de la vie est 4 fois moins cher qu’en France.
Pour travailler légalement en Thaïlande, il te faut un visa B, et un permis de travail. Tu peux travailler avec un visa touriste, mais à tes risques et périls, si l’immigration te tombe dessus c’est la prison, amende, retour en France, et interdiction de territoire. Autre solution, trouver un club qui investisse un permis de travail pour toi
Sinon, Phuket est une île où tu trouveras tout :
Dentiste travaillant avec un matériel irréprochable dans des cabinets propres et modernes, hôpitaux avec médecins compétents (je suis allée au Bangkok Hospital, c’est un 5 étoiles, avec interprète dans ta langue si tu ne comprends pas trop bien le bilan du spécialiste consulté), écoles internationales (j’ai une amie française qui vit à Phuket depuis 9 ans et son fils a fait toute sa scolarité sur l’île depuis l’âge de 6 ans), supermarchés où tu trouves de tout (il y a même un Carrefour à Patong), cinéma avec des salles à faire pâlir Gaumont, Pathé et UGC… Vraiment tu te rendras compte de par toi même, mais je pense qu’il est possible de s’installer avec un enfant et bien vivre à Phuket.
Je te conseille de venir tâter le terrain, visiter quelques centres, plonger sur les sites, visiter l’île, se mettre un peu dans l’ambiance, et t’organiser si tu veux venir t’installer définitivement.
Dis moi ce que tu recherches comme hébergement, ça dépend un peu du temps que tu vas rester, car les prix ne sont pas les mêmes si tu restes deux semaines ou 6 mois.

Pour notre maison, nous l’avons trouvé en tournant en moto sur l’île est en s’arrêtant des que nous apercevions un panneau « house for rent ». La plupart d’entre elles sont louées sans meubles…

I’d describe myself as a "former diver." I’ve done around 450 dives in natural environments across different settings. I put diving on hold about 5 years ago due to work/schedule constraints and, let’s say, family reasons. Since then, I’ve still tried to stay in shape with hiking trips, running, swimming, and freediving in protected environments, etc...
I’m planning to get back into the bubbles somewhere this year.

For my trip to Thailand with two teens aged 13 and 16, do you have any info or tips to share? I’d like to go jet skiing, either in Phuket or Koh Samui, but I’d need at least two jet skis since there are three of us. Can my 16-year-old ride alone? Our Bali-Lombok trip is taking shape, but we’d love to wrap up the stay with at least a solid week of snorkeling somewhere the coral is still in great condition. In your opinion, are the Gili Secrets in southern Lombok better than Flores Island, where there are supposedly amazing underwater landscapes?
We’ll be in Dahab again this October—we’ve been going since 1979—to freedive. In 2025, to our surprise, access to the Blue Hole is now paid: on top of the 10 € taxi fare, you have to pay $10 per person to enter the park. So we’re heading outside Dahab to the Three Pools site by bike, rented locally. Is there a bus that goes there, or shared taxis, instead of the tourist taxis? And where can we catch them? We’ve seen big buses full of local families on the site, but we don’t know where to find them. Thanks in advance!

For flight schedules and prices from Bordeaux, and ease of reaching Alexandria by bus/train afterward, I’m considering spending 4 days around Hurghada (direct flight from Bdx).
I don’t think I’ll go for courses to get my Level 1, since I don’t plan to dive often in the future—unless you think it’s better than doing 2 discovery dives in this area (I only have one baptism under my belt, in Koh Tao 15 years ago—amazing! But I’m not targeting trips for diving; I need to go to Alexandria, so this is a chance to get back into diving and snorkeling).
I’m looking for a spot to do some snorkeling, 1 or 2 baptisms, and explore the surroundings. I’ll arrive in early March on the evening of Day 0. I’ll have 3.5 days after that (I’m planning to leave on Day 4 around 4 PM by bus/train).
Is Hurghada completely to be avoided in favor of another area in the Red Sea, or can I still have a nice 3.5 days there? I know places like Dahab are more pleasant, but the convenience and timing of Hurghada appeal to me...
I usually prefer more authentic travel spots and places, but I’m willing to compromise on that if it’s still worth it for the diving.
Or should I only stay 2.5 days and head to Alexandria a day earlier? (I’ve already seen Cairo and Luxor a bit.)

Compared to my buddy, I love macro photography (nudibranchs, etc.), so I’d also love any tips on that.
And completely unrelated to diving, but I’d also like info on places to visit (national parks, reserves, etc.) to see the local wildlife.

I’m heading to Malaysia from mid-May to mid-August 2025 for nearly 3 months.
With my advanced certification in hand for a few years now, I’m on the lookout for the best dive spots in Malaysia.
I’ve obviously heard about the Perhentians and Sipadan.
Someone mentioned Tioman too, but not necessarily for diving.
Do you have any feedback on these places for diving? (visibility, marine life diversity, etc.)
Any idea about the rates for fun dives?
Dive centers you’d recommend?

I’m looking for a destination in Vietnam for January to spend a week and go snorkeling.
Anyone have any suggestions?
I know Thailand well, and with my Thai friend, we’d like to try a different country.
This is the excursion we shouldn’t have done in Mauritius.
We did it with The Friendly Dodo, but from what I saw, it’s the same with most agencies.
Departure at 6 a.m. (even though the sun rises at 7 a.m. in August). Why? Because there’s only one well-known spot where the dolphins are, and all the agencies race to get there first.
For 45 to 60 minutes, it’s just straight-line navigation to the spot. No one’s looking for dolphins—we’re just speeding there in silence, full throttle.
Once we arrive, there are already 5-6 boats. The dolphins are there, sure. The boats fight for the best position, cutting off the dolphins’ path, and then—go, go, go—everyone jumps in. Not a single instruction is given on how to approach the dolphins respectfully. Result: everyone jumps in at the same time from 3 boats, creating a huge splash, and rushes toward the dolphins. Outcome: faced with this chaos, the dolphins dive, and you can’t see them from the boat anymore. The swimmers who are right in their path might see them pass below for a few seconds at best.
Everyone climbs back onto the boats, and as soon as the dolphins resurface, the same cycle starts all over again.
After 5 or 6 jumps like this (3 of which I didn’t even see the dolphins), it’s back to the port the same way we came.
Not a single explanation is given during the entire excursion about the dolphins themselves or how to approach them.
Safety-wise, I didn’t feel comfortable either with all the boats fighting for position. I bumped into another boat (no pain) while swimming, and I wasn’t reassured about the propellers.
With all this circus, my daughters didn’t even want to get in the water. The problem is, when you stay on the boat, you don’t get much out of it either—because as soon as the dolphins resurface, everyone jumps in haphazardly and scares them off again.
Having done the same kind of outing in Réunion, I can confirm it’s nothing like this (much better organized and ultimately much more rewarding in Réunion).
Under these conditions, this is an activity we never should’ve done! !

I’ve been in Malaysia for a month now and still have two more to go. I started traveling with friends, but I’ll be solo for the next month and a half.
We did a pretty classic route: Perhentians, Cameron Highlands (which I found pointless), Tioman, and Kinabatangan in Borneo. Now I’m thinking of heading to Redang Island—Langkawi is also an option, but it doesn’t appeal to me as much. Any feedback on these two spots?

Any thoughts on the diving there?
So far, I haven’t had much luck with diving—at the Perhentians, it was pretty disastrous with water at 31°C 😵😫
I’d love to find a nice island where I can meet people (locals and travelers) because going from a group of six to solo at the end is going to feel weird.

notre voyage en Indonésie étant annulé, et notre agence nous déconseillant l'Egypte, nous sommes à la recherche d'un lieu où nous pourrons faire du snorkeling depuis la plage (et en excursion bateau). Je connais un peu Zanzibar pour y être allé il y a plus de 10 ans, ainsi que Pemba (mais les prix ont explosé), et je me tourne aussi vers Mafia.
Est ce propice au snorkeling , des resorts ont ils des house reef où l'on peut voir des choses intéressantes (je ne m'attends pas non plus au niveau de la Sulawesi ou des Raja).

Donc, je planifie de passer l'hiver au sud de l'Europe, et ou vers les Balkans et j'aimerais savoir si c'est partout de la plongée en eau froide donc avec le drysuit et tout ou s'il y a des endroits qui sont superbes et ou je peux plonger avec un suit plus épais seulement même exemple en février et mars. Ce que j'aime en plongée c'est l'eau claire, les fonds marins attrayants, la vie aquatique particulière, etc. Je ne suis pas une fan d'épaves, mais je considérerai tout les sites / pays proposés :)
Nous sommes allé faire une plongée profonde de 100 pieds à la carrière Flintkote. Nous sommes descendu sur le site de l'autobus. êtes vous déjà allé plus bas? comme a la voiture?
