Peut-on avoir des renseignements sur le bateau et en particulier sur les cabines situées au pont4?

Nous avons fait cette croisière l'an dernier mais sur le NéoRomantica. Nous avons aimé le périple, apprécié le calme et la douceur de Nauplie et bien sur l'escale de Volos pour les météores.
Nous avons voyagé sur le Classica en 2014 pour une mini croisière avant qu'il ne devienne Néo. Les parties communes sont sobres et élégantes, notre avis est très réservé sur les cabines qui si elles n'ont pas été rénovées sont vieillissantes. Matériaux et déco avaient bien besoin d'un coup de jeune, nous disposions cependant d'un écran plat interactif (ne pas se fier aux photos officielles). L'ensemble du navire est confortable et bien entretenu. Je pense que la salle de restaurant agréable et lumineuse a été réaménagée afin de convenir aux horaires libres et recevoir plus de convives.
Nous avons étés un peu secoués entre Ajaccio et Savone, réelles mauvaise mer? OUI assurément, défaut du navire ? je n'ai pas la l'expertise nécessaire pour en juger. Je ne pourrai pas vous parler du pont 4, nous étions cabine 6060 extérieure Prémium. Vous pouvez consulter les plan du navire et connaitre la position de votre cabine sur le site de Costa

J'ai voyagé sur le Classica il y a quelques années et j'en garde un bon souvenir ; je voudrais en fait savoir quelle a été l'importance des transformations pour que ce navire devienne Neoclassica. Je parle des cabines du pont 4 car elles sont, aux dires de certains , assez bruyantes (machinerie). Or , il se trouve que je n'aurai mon numéro de cabine que quelques jours avant l'embarquement car je dois être surclassé en tant que membre Pearl du club Costa. J'espère donc ne pas avoir une cabine située sur ce pont!!! Pouvez-vous me dire si l'escale à Naples , qui est relativement courte , laisse le temps d'aller à Herculanum par ses propres moyens sans passer par Costa. (je ferai juste l'excursion aux Météores avec Costa, c'est plus simple). Bonne soirée.

A Naples nous n'avons pas tenté le diable, nous avons trouvé l'escale trop courte pour aller à Herculanum y compris en excursion. Apparemment c'est possible, certains l'ont fait mais nous ne tenons pas à stresser pendant nos voyages ou à être bousculés par un guide et visiter au pas de charge. Nous nous sommes contentés de faire un tour dans Naples. Nous privilégions les navettes portuaires ou Costa et visitons par nous même les villes sans nous éloigner. Nous prenons les excursions Costa lorsque les ports d'escales sont trop éloignés des sites et nécessitent de longs transferts. Ex: Cadix- Séville ou Volos - météores.
Pour cette dernière excursion nous avions une guide parfaite, nous avons seulement regretté de ne pas visiter plus de monastères et la cohue. Je ne sais pas quel est votre état de santé (nous avons le même âge) pour ma part je n'ai pas éprouvé les difficultés annoncées pour atteindre les monastères. Les marches se montent aisément, d'autant que la foule des visiteurs engendre une certaine lenteur.
Désolé pour nos lacunes sur le pont 4.

Je vous conseille de prendre l'excursion du bateau pour Herculanum car elle est très bien et vous avez les explications du guide.
Lisez tout mon compte rendu car nous y avons fait escale (à Naples) en mars et vous verrez que cela vaut le coup😉

Nous avons fait cette croisière en Mai de cette année.L'excursion des météores est très bien.
Nous connaissons bien ce bateau pour l'avoir connu lorsqu'il faisait des croisières en Asie.
A mon avis pour les cabines ce doit être de l'entretien courant qui a été fait pour la transformation en Néo. En revanche l'arrière du buffet en plein air a été très bien réaménagé, ce qui permet de manger en extérieur tout en étant protégé Le buffet a été réaménagé
De même le coin piscine a été repensé et équipé de sièges très confortables qui sont vite squattés. Sur le bateau je vous conseille la discothèque (le jour) très bien placée pour avoir une vue panoramique sur le paysage

J'ai mis un peu de temps à vous répondre, j'en suis désolée.
Nous préparons nos escales seuls. Pour l'instant à Savone, nous n'avons pas trop d'idées. Lors d'une précédente croisière, en escale, nous nous étions promenés dans la ville qui est très agréable. Son fort offre une vue agréable sur le port et la ville - la chapelle Sixtine de Savone est à voir.
Naples que nous avons également visitée lors d'un week-end : à voir la chapelle San Severo et ses sculptures en marbre extraordinaires. pour Capri c'est un peu juste car il faut le temps d'acheter les billets, puis le temps de la traversée, puis l'attente pour le funiculaire pour monter à Capri de Marina Grande, ou la queue au mini autobus pour aller à Anacapri. Il vaut mieux dans ce cas prendre une excursion Costa (tout comme pour Herculanum et Pompéi je pense).
Kalamata et Nauplie nous allons le faire par nous-mêmes mais ce n'est pas encore très défini.
Pour Volos nous pensons prendre l'excursion Costa pour les Météores compte tenu de la distance.
A Athènes il est très facile de se rendre à Plaka par le métro (une marche d'une petite demi-heure du port de croisière ou prendre le bus 843 à la sortie du port qui passe au pied du métro - une passerelle enjambe les voies de circulation (un moment après avoir dépassé une église aux coupoles bleues) - c'est là qu'il faut descendre.
Pour Trapani nous étions allés à Erice (superbe) et nous pensons tenter Segeste cette fois-ci - les détails ne sont pas encore finalisés....

Nous prendrons également l'excursion Costa pour Volos et les Météores , comme vous, à cause de la distance et enfin nous aimerions bien nous rendre à Ségeste car il paraît que le site est magnifique; pour ce dernier site nous prendrons peut-être l'excursion Costa sauf s'il est facile de s'organiser par soi-même. Pour Athènes , nous nous organiserons par nous-mêmes car nous connaissons déjà. Nous aimerions par ailleurs aller à Corinthe peut-être seuls si cela est possible. Préparez bien votre croisière vous aussi: c'est toujours un bon moment car on est déjà dans l'ambiance du voyage et avec un peu d'imagination presque sur le bateau. Pour nous , ce sera la 23ème croisière et c'est chaque fois un émerveillement! On ne se lasse pas! Bonne soirée à vous.

C'est un article promotionnel payé par Costa.
Ce bateau était affrété par TAAJ , mais TAAJ a déposé le bilan sans être repris. Donc Costa l'a relooké à la va vite pour pouvoir l'utiliser. C'est une opération de récupération, pas de la grande modernisation.
En tenir compte et ne pas croire aux miracles😉
Mais qui parle de miracle, pour moi il ne s'agit que de trouver les modifications effectuées depuis notre dernière croisière. Ne cherchons pas plus loin. Quelque soit le but de l'article, la majeure partie des photos reflète bien une rénovation quelles qu’en soient les raisons. C'était le but de ma recherche.

J'aime bien , personnellement , ce genre de bateau pas trop gros , qui reste ainsi à taille humaine . C'est beaucoup plus convivial. Bonne journée à vous.

Les bateaux de taille moyenne sont bien souvent très agréables.

Je suis rentrée de ma croisiere "iles de la méditerranée" sur le costa classica donc peux vous en parler.
Nous étions cabine 6002 tout à l'avant du bateau. Cabine intérieure assez spacieuse. La salle de douche comprenait des échantillons de produit douche, shampooing, après soleil, coton tige, bonnet de douche, coton en plus du distributeur de shampooing-douche dans la douche.
La cabine était bruyante le matin pendant une heure environ, durée de la manoeuvre pour rentrer aux ports ou jeter l'ancre. De même, on entendait tous les bruits de couloir car il y avait une large grille d'aération au bas de la porte. Heureusement que nous étions tout à l'avant donc peu de passage !
Le bateau n'est pas très grand et on en a vite fait le tour c'est pourquoi je préfère les plus gros.
Nous avons très bien mangé tant à la cafétéria qu'au restaurant. C'était en plein mois d'aout et pourtant nous avons toujours trouvé de la place pour manger sous la pergola de la cafétéria le midi, en bout de bateau.
Il n'est pas très agréable de manger dans la cafétéria car nous y avons vue sur les chaloupes tout le long des vitres !
Le soir c'est placement libre. Nous préférons quand on nous place chaque soir à la même table avec les mêmes voisins car ainsi nous pouvons discuter. Là, beaucoup de table de 2.
Le 1er soir nous sommes allés nous installer à la table de 2 français avec qui nous avons sympatisé et chaque soir nous avons eu plaisir tous les quatre à nous retrouver pour manger.
Il y a eu 3 conférences à bord. C'était très bien.
Les spectacles étaient bien même si nous les avions déjà vu, tout au moins ceux des intervenants.
Un regret, nous ne pouvions accéder qu'aux ponts supérieurs, pas à ceux sur babord, tribord le long du bateau. C'est bien dommage, ils sont réservés au personnel.

Voilà un petit compte-rendu qui reflète bien l'impression que nous avons nous même de ce navire ou plus largement de la néo collection.
Un avis paradoxal toutefois sur votre post: vous regrettiez le placement libre mais celui ci vous a pourtant permis de dîner tous les jours avec des convives choisis. Sur une table désignée on peut avoir d'agréables surprises mais aussi prendre ses repas en mauvaise compagnie.
Bien que nous ayons apprécié le confort l'ambiance et la décoration sobre et élégante des deux bateaux (Classica-Romantica) nous préférons également les plus grosses unités et les cabines plus spacieuses. A bien y regarder les grands navires, plus hauts, plus longs de 60 ou 70 m présentant le double de ponts cabines, des ponts promenades, de grands Lidos, le triple d'ascenseurs, la "taille humaine" des moins imposants Classica ou Romantica n'est plus que l'idée qu'on veut bien s'en faire. Nous avons toujours pu sur le Pacifica par 2 fois comme sur les "Néo"passer des moments conviviaux aux différent bars ou en déjeunant au restaurant entre relations choisies. Nous avons également pu jouir de moments intimes tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur.
Nous repartons dans quelques jours sur le Magica, deuxième service une table de deux...l'attente est le meilleur moment, après tout passera très vite. Compte-rendu à suivre.

Vous avez raison, le placement libre nous a permis de choisir nos voisins de table le 1er soir😉 Heureusement sinon nous aurions mangé seuls tous les soirs car nous n'avons jamais eu l'occasion de discuter vraiment avec d'autres passagers le reste du temps et nos voisins de table non plus, nous nous en sommes fait la réflexion🤪.

Nous arrivons d'une croisière du 13/08/26 au 20/08/26 s/ le MSC ORCHESTRA avec escales à Tarragone, Valence, Livourne, Civitaveccia , Gênes et retour à Marseille. Le bateau était complet. Les transats déjà bien occupés par des serviettes de plage dès le matin et 1 ou 2 personnes dans les piscines....par contre, le jour du débarquement des Italiens, très peu de serviettes s/ les transats. Nous avons trouvé les Italiens moins volubiles .
Nous avions 1 cabine balcon au pont 9 à tribord. Cabine spacieuse , cependant le canapé était orienté face au bureau et pour regarder la TV, c'était torticolis assuré. Nous avons donc changé l'orientation du canapé pour le mettre face à la TV ( nous l'avons bien sûr remis à sa place le jour du débarquement). Nous étions 325 francophones à bord Beaucoup de personnel de l'île Maurice ce qui facilité les échanges.
Pas d'annonce intempestive s/ le bingo etc.....ça change de COSTA.
Pour le dîner, nous étions au 1er service à 19h45, à 1 table de 6.Le 1er soir nous étions 2 couples de "cheveux blancs" à table. Le second soir, 2 jeunes femmes se sont présentées à notre table et en nous voyant ont demandé à changer de table... L e spectacle pour notre horaire de dîner était à 22h15 et se terminait vers 23h. Nous avons trouvé cela tardif pour nous.Spectacles variés et de qualité. Menus au restaurant avec du choix, par contre au buffet le midi , beaucoup de plats avec pas mal de féculents.Goûter de 16h30-17h30 avec de bonnes pâtisseries entre autres.
Nous avons eu un problème de climatisation et de mauvaises odeurs dans la cabine un ap-midi. J'ai signalé le problème à l'accueil et du personnel avec notre Cabinier sont venus voir dans la cabine.Le problème a été résolu dans l'ap-midi. Deux jours après, nous avons eu la surprise de trouver 1 sac avec des objets à l'intérieur: 2 tasses MSC et 2 gourdes MSC maintenant le froid et le chaud pendant 10h.C'était un cadeau du service client suite aux mauvaises odeurs dans notre cabine.Nous ne nous attendions pas du tout à ce geste et nous avons remercié le service client de MSC.
Pour les excursions, MSC propose toujours des transferts port- C Ville pour 14 euros/ Ad à Valence et Tarragone, et 12 euros / enfant. Pour Livourne; 10 euros/Ad et 7 euros/enfant A Civitaveccia, navette pour la gare à 6 euros. Sur l'application MSC for Me, il y avait des "promotions" s/ certaines excursions. Just back from our first cruise on the Renaissance, and I’d like to share a few thoughts about life on board. Our feelings are mixed—we wanted a change after several MSC cruises, but the value for money on this repositioning cruise left us torn.
After taking advantage of successive promotions, we finally secured a well-located balcony cabin for 2600 € (almost 50% off the brochure rate). Given the amenities and the ship’s age, this now feels like the absolute maximum we’d pay for that period.
Overall, we were happy with our vacation on board, but a few details—when added up—left us with a somewhat mixed impression.

I live in Marseille, so a departure from Marseille would work, but I’m open to other ports too. If you have a cruise line to recommend and a destination you’ve enjoyed, or if you’ve had a great experience on a more intimate-sized ship, I’d love to hear about it!

I finally chose NCL’s Star for Iceland. I had already looked at this itinerary when I went to Scotland in April with CFC, but it was really expensive. You should know that CFC often offers last-minute deals 45 days before departure (the point when you can no longer cancel or modify). So, I got a great opportunity and grabbed it. Departure is on August 23rd.

A cruise seems like the best solution for me, especially since what I really love is the idea of a long stay on a ship—making stops in different places, exploring them, the change of scenery, and a real break from the daily grind. I’ve never been on a cruise before, so I was thinking of doing a 21-day cruise between a port in mainland France (Marseille) and Pointe-à-Pitre. The departure port doesn’t really matter—Marseille, Le Havre, or even a nearby European city would work.
Since I want to travel solo, I’m really keen on cruises designed for solo travelers. MSC has one from Marseille to Pointe-à-Pitre, lasting 21 days, departing next November (so in a few months). The price is within my budget, just over 1800 €.
I see that other cruises with similar routes and durations are planned for next year, November 2027, but the prices are totally different—around 3500 €, which is clearly out of my budget.
So, my question is: do you think I should wait for a possible price drop for the 2027 cruises (if I understand correctly, prices are adjusted based on how full the ship is and how close the departure date is) or should I book the one in November 2026? I could easily take three weeks off this fall. Also, is it too late to book for November 2026? I’ve read that visas might be required for some stops.
For the rest—accommodation in Guadeloupe and the flight ticket back to France—it’s not a problem; I can sort that out pretty easily.

We’re back from this cruise.
Boarding in Dunkirk: The doors opened around 12 PM. Since we were a bit early, I asked if my husband, who uses a walker, could wait inside instead of outside. I left him with the two suitcases and our two backpacks in the small hall while I parked the car in the reserved CFC parking lot for 10 € per day.
The shuttle that was supposed to take people from the parking lot to the model pavilion was supposed to arrive in 5 minutes, but after 15 minutes, nothing. After waiting 15 minutes, I saw a man walking and asked if I could follow him. In 15 minutes, we arrived, and still no sign of the shuttle—it must have passed us. Arrived at the model pavilion.
My husband had already checked in the suitcases with the help of a CFC staff member. The remaining formalities were completed quickly. We were on board by 12:15 PM. Headed to the buffet on deck 11 and waited in a lounge to access our cabin.
At 2 PM, we discovered our balcony cabin on deck 9 at the rear: spacious with a large balcony compared to MSC/COSTA.
Since we were at the rear, cabin 9202, there was always an issue with elevator number 4: "priority."
Elevator number 2 stops at deck 10... and elevator number 3 was often out of order, leaving only number 1 for those with mobility issues to reach the buffet, especially for people who struggle with stairs. Note: only one child on board and lots of "gray hair."
DAY 2: At sea. Lots of activities offered.
Day 3: GOTHENBURG (Sweden). Sunny, 19°C at 11 AM.
Excursion booked with CFC: Gothenburg and Haga for all.
Interesting visit with a great guide. The HAGA district, in our opinion, is full of cobblestones and nothing special, not suitable for people using a cane or wheelchair. Elevator number 3 was out of order again.
Day 4: Copenhagen. 15°C in the morning, showers in the afternoon.
We didn’t book an excursion since we’d already stopped here with CFC in 2025, and based on advice from this forum, we took the hop-on/hop-off bus right in front of the ship. I still went to see the Little Mermaid again.
No TV, but the elevator was fixed.
DAY 5: At sea. Still no TV.
DAY 6: GDANSK (Poland). 15°C, rain all day.
There’s a shuttle to get to the city center.
We took the excursion: Panorama of Gdansk.
The guide left us at the entrance of the city center for 45 minutes, telling us what to visit. Meet-up for the rest of the tour at 3 PM. The bus left at 3:15 PM to cover 10 km to see St. Mary’s Cathedral. We arrived at 4:16 PM... The guide said there are often traffic jams in that direction. We had 10 minutes on site before heading to see the lighthouse and the Westerplatte monument, where we also had 10 minutes.
Many of us wondered why we didn’t do the tour in the opposite direction since they knew there would be traffic...
I went to reception to complain about the organization. The staff member read me the program: we were supposed to start with the lighthouse, then go to the cathedral and stay for 30 minutes before heading to the center of Gdansk for a short guided walk with some free time to buy souvenirs, etc.
The guide did the complete opposite of what was planned and didn’t even give us a guided tour—just dropped us off in the city...
DAY 7: Bornholm Island (Denmark). 14°C, a few sunny spells.
We saw in the excursions that there was a walking tour of RØNNE. So, like many others, we explored on our own. There was a small orchestra welcoming us at the port and two people with city maps. We took the shuttle to leave the port—it ran every 15 minutes. The tourist office was next to the "shuttle bus." A pleasant visit at our own pace.
DAY 8: KIEL (Germany). 18–23°C, nice weather.
We took the "Kiel for all" excursion. Great guide and interesting visits.
The port is in the city, and in 10 minutes, we were in the city center by following a blue line on the ground from the port. Elevator 3 was stuck again... and the TV was back.
DAY 9: At sea. Elevator 3 works.
DAY 10: At sea. Elevator 3 is out of order again...
DAY 11: Disembarkation in Dunkirk.
Cabins had to be vacated by 7:30 AM. Buffet open until 9 AM.
Elevator number 1 was "reserved," leaving only number 2, which doesn’t go up to deck 11... a problem for people with mobility issues who had to cross the entire deck 11 and try to use one of the four working elevators at the front, which were crowded.
My opinion: Interesting stops.
The onboard staff were always welcoming, smiling, and mostly French-speaking.
Evening shows were better than in March/April 2025—better singers, dancers, and presenters, and the costumes were improved.
I liked the "magician" shows less.
There were three onboard lectures by a very cultured person, but they went off-topic and were too historical for my taste. I didn’t attend the other two; my husband went to the second but not the third.
For this cruise, there was a bridge theme, but we’re not players or interested.
We didn’t take a drink package on board—water, coffee, tea, and herbal teas were available.
We had a water leak in our cabin the night before disembarkation. We reported it, and after the technical staff came (with a translator who didn’t speak English), we were asked to leave the cabin for a while for repairs. We went to a lounge, and after 1.5 hours, I checked in at reception. The repair took longer than expected... we had to change cabins... not ideal the night before disembarkation. No balcony cabins were available, so we got an ocean-view cabin, 6075, with a bathtub (impossible for both of us to use). We packed our suitcases, took a shower in our cabin, and moved to the new one. Noise from chairs until 12:30 AM because the cabin was under a lounge, and constant ventilation noise in the hallway... sleep was hard to come by. Disembarkation: Well organized. We were helped with transporting the two suitcases and bags to the waiting room while I took the shuttle to get the car. Guylène

We’d like to know if it’s possible to walk out of the port quickly and reach a nice area of Naples on foot (we’re two older people). It’s with immense sadness that I learned this morning of the passing of our friend Nathalie (nadu). Many of us knew her through this forum, which she loved so much. She enjoyed reading your travel stories, joining discussions, sharing her cruise reviews, and offering valuable advice—always with kindness, gentleness, and discretion.
For me, Nathalie was so much more than just a cruise enthusiast. She was a friend, a deeply kind person who was always there to listen, despite the many health challenges she faced with tremendous courage. We corresponded regularly, and sometimes we had the chance to visit each other’s homes or attend the cruise show together with our respective husbands.
We shared a common dream: when we both retired, we had planned to finally go on a cruise together. Life had other plans, and that trip will forever remain a journey we never had the chance to take. That thought weighs heavily on my heart today.
I’ll remember her as a gentle, generous woman who was always ready to help others. Her presence on this forum will leave a huge void, just as her friendship has in my life.
I send my sincerest thoughts to her husband, her family, and all those who had the chance to know her.

hi there, a group of friends and I are going on a cruise at the end of June with CFC in Norway. I’d love to get some info on the different stops we’ll be making. We’ll be sailing on the Renaissance with CFC to southern Norway from July 4 to 11, 2026, departing from Dunkirk (the cruise was booked through "Planète Croisière").
When entering some personal details or pre-selecting options on the CFC website, I’m wondering about the "optional" categories for drinks and WiFi.
I’m actually a bit surprised by these extra charges, as we weren’t used to them on other cruises (Australis in Patagonia; Hurtigruten’s Coastal Express in Norway and Alaska; Rivages du Monde in the Arctic or on the Douro River; a Nile river cruise in Egypt), where we sometimes had access to basic drinks at meals and free WiFi when near land.
Anyway, for those who’ve already taken a CFC cruise on the Renaissance, could you share some advice? Specifically about the most basic drink package, called "Fraîcheur" (238 € for two), which doesn’t seem to be described anywhere. The "Premium" package seems excessive (490 € for two for the week) for light drinkers.
As for WiFi, it’s 10 € per day per person. While I find that price acceptable for parking our car in Dunkirk, it feels overpriced here (especially since it was free on the Nordlys "Coastal Express" just 3 or 4 years ago).
So, I’d love to hear from experienced cruisers who’ve been on this ship!
