On m'a dit que les chiens etaient très mal acceptés dans certains pays d'Afrique, qu'en est il du Gabon?
Au niveau santé, l'humidité et la chaleur sont elles mauvaises ou difficiles pour les chiens? Y a t'il de bon vétérinaires?
Y a t'il des vaccins spéciaux ou traitements à faire avant le départ (il a déja la rage)?
Trouve t'on des croquettes la ba? les mêmes qu'en France?
Comment cela se passe à la sortie de l'avion, y a t'il des formalités particulières? une quarantaine?

En général les gens ont plutot peur des chiens et ce genre de chiens là bas, ça passe encore moins! Un conseil évite de le sortir trop hors du jardin, ...et puis parfois ce sont les enfants rentrant de l'école qui s'amuse à exciter le chien, lui lancer des cailloux, donc inutile aussi de dire que s'il s'échappe à ce moment là...! Un accident comme ça s'était produit une fois je me rappelle. Une autre fois c'est un chien qui a été empoisonné. Donc jardin bien cloturé, d'où on ne verra pas le chien de la rue.
Il y a une tres bonne vétérinaire, quartier Les Hauts de GuéGué, Meme Berthonneau.
En plus du vaccin de la rage tu dois faire la sérologie(test de taux de protection rage), 3 mois avant la date du départ, certains pays s'en fiche mais ce n'est pas le cas de tous, et de toute façon c'est obigatoire pour le retour en France. Donc tu l'auras déjà . Les animaux sont plus sujet à des parasitoses, surtout la filairioze, il faudra lui donner un médicament pour ça régulièrement en plus du vermifuge.
On trouve croquettes et autres, les meme qu'en France (royal canin), un peu chéro toute fois !
Il n'y a toujours pas de quarantaine à ce que je sache. Avoir tous les papiers, vaccination + sérologie.

En plus de la sérologie que je te conseille de faire à l'avance en france, ben il y a un certificat de bonne santé qui doit avoir moins de 7jours, rempli par ton véto et fourni à l'arrivée. (c peut etre même 4 ou 5jours, donc à vérifier)
Le traitement pour le truc filaire, c'est un médoc à donner tous les mois à la même date, pour ne pas casser le cycle. il met 10jours après la 1ère prise à etre efficace. le principe c que les mouches pondent des oeufs, ca rentre dans ton chien et le ver tisse autour du coeur jusqu'à l'étouffer... donc à prendre au sérieux !! Il n'y a pas de quarantaine (je suis arrivée en juillet 2007). Il est vrai que les chiens font peur aux locaux !! Mon shih tzu (et ses 6kg), est très fièr ici, il n'a jamais impressionné autant de monde !! hihi... Je ne savais pas que des personnes pouvaient avoir de mauvaises intentions à leur égard. mais peut etre aura tu un gardien ds le coin pour prévenir toute intrusion...
Pour les sorties, non, il n'y a pas trop d'espaces verts, mais il y a la rue. alors tout dépend où tu tombes.. chez moi, avec la pluie, c vite la gadoue, alors on rince les pattes 4fois par jour ds ces cas là...
Les croquettes sont chères, c'est clair... mais, il y a une sous marque à Mbolo (canigou je crois) qui peut aller. Mon véto, c Delestre, un français très sympa et compétent jusque là.
Tu n'auras pas plus de vaccins à faire que ceux en france. mais tu as interet à etre en regle pour la rage, car c pour rentrer en france qu'ils seront chiants !!
Pour finir, oui, il a bcp de chiens ici, mais sans maitre, qui bouffent dans les poubelles et se font ecraser regulièrement... 🏴☠️
A l'arrivée je serais en appart jusqu'à l'été probablement, et puis on aura une villa. Pour le temps ou je suis en appart, tant que je peux au moins le sortir en laisse dans la rue sans soucis, c'est déjà ça. Pour le reste on l'emenera courir sur la plage, il faut qu'il se defoule le bougre!
Non les espaces verts faut pas trop y compter, à la limite le WE, tu l'emmènes le matin courir à la plage de la Sablière ou sur le bord de mer ballader, mais en laisse et là il ne doit pas y avoir de problème en laisse . Les chiens que l'ont voit le plus là bas sont les chiens errants, donc garre à ceux là surtout s'ils sont en meutes, seuls ils sont plutot peureux en général.
Oui de toute façon contacte un véto, car il faut un carnet que l'on appelle passeport international de vaccination sur lequel les vignettes du vaccin contre la rage sont collées. Il faut aussi + le certif de bonne santé 3 ou 5 jours avant le départ, les autres vaccinations sont toujours portées sur le carnet de santé classique. Et n'oublie pas de demander pour la sérologie rage à faire 3 mois avant le départ, apres c'est valable tout le temps à condition de respecter au jour pres l'échéance de la vaccination pour le rappel (infos datant de qqs jours seulement).
Oui, la laisse c'est mieux pour le début ! j'espère que tu seras dans un coin sympa pour le sortir, car avoirun chien en pleine ville, c jamais facile.. (france ou gabon d'ailleurs)
Pour la plage, tu pourras t'en donner à coeur joie, car j'en vois tous les jours dans l'eau avec leur maitre !! ( des labradors souvent d'ailleurs. )

C'est la langue du peuple fang( Les Betsi, Eton, Ewondo, Boulou, Ekang....) dans le Woleu Ntem, province du Nord Gabon, mais aussi vers Lambéréné ... ainsi qu'au Cameroun, Guinée Equato, Sao Tomé, Congo. J'ai du nouveau, je serais (dans un premier temps au moins) dans un appart situé en centre ville à 800m à pied de la presidence.
J'imagine que le centre ville n'est pas l'ideal pour ballader le chien mais bon, la plage n'est pas eloignée non?
Donc tu ne seras pas loin du bord de mer ce sera déjà ça...à pied c'est un peu éloigné de la plage mais c'est faisable, ça fait une bonne ballade. Ce qui est sûr c'est qu'avec ton chien en laisse, tu ne seras pas ennuyé !!
