Je me demandais si quelqu'un s'étais déjà expatrié pour une période dans un pays étranger sans avoir réellement de travail, je veux dire par là sans contrat de travail signé.
En effet, je désirerais, après y voir passé un moment en stage, trouver un travail en République Dominicaine en étant sur le territoire. J'ai des contacts sérieux sur place qui pourraient m'aider à trouver un travail ainsi qu'un logement. Mais j'aurais quand même aimé savoir si quelqu'un l'avait déjà fait.
Je sais que pour le visa ça ne poserai pas de problèmes car lorsque j'y suis allé la dernière fois (pendant six mois), je suis rentré en achetant une carte de tourisme et ait payé une petite amende de 1000 pesos à la sortie. Je comptais donc faire la même chose pour l'entrée et régulariser ma situation sur place.

Je suis exactement dans la même situation que vous, à la différence que je suis présentement en république pour cette fois-ci au moins 15 mois. J'y suis ici depuis le 1er novembre 2009. Arrivé, ici, j'avais aucun travail ou offre formelle. Travailler ici ne m'inquiète pas vraiment. Je suis dans le secteur de l'informatique et j'avais déjà appliquer sur 3 postes au pringtemps. 3 entrevues plus tard, on m'offrait 2 job à la condition de pouvoir commencer à travailler le mois suivant ce que je n'ai pas pu faire dû à des derniers engagements au Canada.
Je suis retourner chez moi pour régler les derniers détails. Depuis mon retour le mois passé, j'ai pas vraiement cherché intensivement du travail car ce n'est pas ma priorité et je me dirige d'ailleurs pour créer ma proprre business ici. J'ai seulement placé mon CV sur http://www.aldaba.org/ et je reçois 1 offre en moyenne par 2 semaines. Mais je répète. Je ne cherche pas intensivement. Ici, ce qui est PRIMORDIAL, c'est d'avoir des bons contacts dominicains ce que j'ai par chance. C'est LA clé ici. Tout fonctionne avec des contacts, des échanges de services.
Il est très important également de parler la langue du pays. Dans le secteur de l'informatique, même si cela est un secteur où ça se passe en anglais, il faut un bon niveau d'espagnol pour espérer diriger les gens sinon tant py.
Une chose que j'ai remarqué aussi, c'est que le français peut être dans certains cas un atout car quelques compagnies d'informatiques ici ont des clients ailleurs dans le monde.
En conclusion, tout dépend de votre secteur d'activité et des contacts que vous avez ici. Même en informatique, pour ceux qui voudraient tenter leur chance, n'allez pas croire que vous ferez un tas d'argent ici. On vient ici je crois pour d'autres raisons: défi personnel, nouvelle culture, nouveau rythme de vie, ou..... par amour...
Si vous avez des questions plus spécifiques, envoyez les moi, je peux peut-être faire quelques choses.

Ce qui me fait, un peu peur, c'est au niveau des conditions de travail et du salaire du potentiel poste. Combien doit on gagner pour espérer vivre convenablement là-bas ?

l'hotellerie... ouf, je connais vraiment pas. Tout ce que je sais, c'est que si c'est pour être représentant à distance, vous devriez regarder pour un grossiste en voyage français. Les conditions seront surement meilleures. Ça fonctionne comme ça pour un représentant a distance lorsqu'on est canadien.
L'idéal est vraiment de travailler pour une compagnie de votre pays qui ont des lieux d'affaires ici. C'est plus simple et plus payant.
Le salaire nécessaire pour vivre ici ? Le plus possible!!! Les produits locaux sont très bon marché, les produits importés sont chers mais les services comme mécanicien, coiffure, femme de ménage sont d'excellent marché.
Il y a de tout dans les prix pour le logement. je connais pas encore suffisamement le marché pour vous donner une réponse juste. On paye 600 ou 700$us pour mon appart, je m'en rappeles plus :-). L'important selon moi est de vous trouver le moins bruyant possible, au moins cher possible évidamment...
En fin de semaine, j'ai visité un condo de 3 chambres au bord de la mer à Juan Dolio. Toit cathédrale. Petit bloc, le tout très sécurisé, piscine creusée et plage privée. 620$us + 40$ de frais d'entretien (sécurité, piscine, générateur, etc...) Juan Dolio est par contre à au moins 50 km de la capitale....
J'ai bien failli avoir une faiblesse de joie en te lisant...j'explique!
Sylvain mon amour à moi (d'où la faiblesse) et moi, avons travaillé à deux reprises en Afrique de l'Ouest. Syl est programmeur analyste, toujours travaillé à son compte à Montréal. A eu un commerce en informatique à St-Jean aussi et un resto à la soupe dans le Faubourg.
Puis depuis l'Afrique 2003 et 2006, on arrive plus à vivre ici. Tu es Québécois? Sans explication tu comprendras.
Puis l'Afrique c'est génial, mais y'a un mais...lNos enfants adultes parfois ados...les parents qui vieillissent...les filles qui enfantent...et les petits enfants qui poussent. Alors on souhaite oui plus de calme, plus de yo men, plus de ça va aller doucement, plus de mer, plus de soleil, plus de chaleur itou...ouille les os à 50 ans.
Ne fais pas le saut! Oui 50 pis après! Liberté 55? Malade. Je joue du djambé, Syl chante, on sait encore faire la fête de temps à autre, rouler en moto également. Marginaux vous dites? Si Senor...un poco hablar espagnol...un poco. We learn to speak about 2 weeks!
Alors voilà on se propose de partir en juillet. On vend tout encore une fois et on essaie. On peut tout faire, on a tout fait. On a pas de fortune on en veut pas, juste de quoi vivre gentiment sa vie de grand.

Moi, et bien depuis l'Afrique j'ai quitté emploi municipalité de Laval pour venir prendre soin de personnes handicapées dans Chaudière Appalaches. Nous sommes à Lévis face au fleuve, face au château et on rêve..d'une chaumière. Comprends-tu ça?

Tu parles de loyer a 600 dollars mais le salaire moyen est de 5000 pesos ici soit environ 140 usd
Un dentiste dominicain gagne 25 000 pesos soit environ 695 usd........
Après vérifications et pour clarifier l'ambiguité que j'avais laissé dans mon premier post, le coût de notre appart ici à Santo Domingo, quartier "Mirador Norte" est de 22000 pesos (+/- 610$us) + 2000 pesos (+/- 55$us) d'entretien par mois. 1er niveau, 3 chambres, 2.5 salles de bain, générateur et sécurité tout inclus.
On paye donc ici exactement le même prix que le miniuscule condo à Juan Dolio au bord de mer que je donnais en exemple précédamment.
Il y a des apparts biensûr un peu moins cher et d'autres beaucoup plus cher.
À la Capitale ou sur un bord de mer zoné touristique, c'est dispendieux
A priori cela ne pose pas problème car tu as déjà fait un séjour de stage. Seul conseil vient avec suffisament de finance pour pouvoir vivre quelques mois et voir si tu peux trouver quelque chose qui te convient.
Il faut essayer mais prévoir en cas d'échec une retraite dans son pays envisageable, car c'est difficile de'y gagner correctement sa vie, si tu n'as pas une vraie spécialité reconnue rare chez les locaux (Moniteur de Plongée en bouteille, Cuisinier expérimenté, Gestion de l'environnement-déchets etc...)
De plus il faudra prévoir de cotiser toi même à une assurance maladie-accident, et assurance-retraite
La plupart des étrangers ouvrent leur propre affaire, peu réussissent, les secteurs d'affaires à éviter sont : Hotels, Restaurants, Bar, Sports moteur, (Quads, Motos, Jet Ski, ...) importation et commerces sans relation haut placé.
Les secteurs ayant un peu fonctionné sont : construction, entrepreneur immobilier, car le coût de la main d' oeuvre haïtienne essentiellement présente dans ce secteur est bon marché et les constructions de maison-villas à la dominicaine ne sont pas fiable dans le temps surtout au point de vue isolation, étanchéité, canalisation et qualité des évacuations.
Les loyers mentionnés ci dessus sont très élevés, il existe des moyens de trouver très bon marché pour autant que l'on se contente de vivre à la dominicaine...et qu'on ne choisisse pas les quartiers les plus cher de la capitale, comme ci dessus, beaucoup d'habitants proposent notamment une partie de leur logement avec entrée privée pour une somme très modique. comme tout cela se trouve par relation...parler est essentiel par exemple au colmado du coin qui sait tout sur tout le monde... (et pas par annonce internet qui ne concerne que le haut de gamme et dont la cible sont les étrangers ...!!!) négociez en pesos et jamais en US $ ou €, sauf pour votre salaire...lol

Toutefois, le meilleur moyen est de regarder pour les affiches sur place en se prommenant. A moins d'être prêt à accepter n'importe quel appart en se fiant a quelques photos, il est beaucoup mieux de filtrer les propriétés à vendre en regardant d'abord si on aime le secteur, la rue, la vue, le bruit... Pour vous donner un idée, ça fait 2 ans que je cherche par temps perdu un secteur que j'aimerais VRAIMENT et j'ai pas encore trouvé. Il y a de très beaux endroits mais toujours quelques chose qui cloche. Je suis difficile il faut croire...
Pour acheter des biens immo en rep dom il ne faut pas être pressé, sinon vous risquez de tout perdre...
Il ne faut envisager aucun achat immo si vous n'avez pas une expérience de 6 mois de location sur place ! étudié les lois et entretemps trouver le Bon avocat...
