Hi there, I’m looking for a destination in Vietnam for January to spend a week and go snorkeling. Anyone have any suggestions? I know Thailand well, and with my Thai friend, we’d like to try a different country.

Thanks in advance.

For beach vibes, I’d say Phu Quoc Island, but I haven’t snorkeled there myself so I can’t really say—but the beaches are gorgeous!

Hi there,

Vietnam isn’t exactly known for its marine life 😉

I went diving there this summer around the Cham Islands (from Hoi An/Da Nang), and it was still a great discovery. There were quite a few snorkelers on the boat too.

Later!

Hi there, Vietnam isn’t really a snorkeling destination, as others have already mentioned. Cham Island is very rainy in January, and Con Dao Island is also quite windy that month—so you won’t see much even if the weather’s nice. January is better for Phu Quoc, with plenty of sites and agencies. I’ve tried it too, and it’s not unforgettable, but there are some nice spots, though they can be a bit crowded with tourists. Have a great trip! Eric
