Après bien des hésitations, je crois que je vais faire mon visa depuis la France,
étant donné que je vais rester - non pas 15 - mais 21 jours en IRAN.
Se présente alors le problème qui suit...
NUMERO D'AUTORISATION
L'obtenir par le biais d'une Agence de voyage iranienne m'embête.
J'ai peur de devoir ensuite composer mon voyage selon leurs désirs...
D'autant que se pose aussi le paiement (à l'avance et via l'Allemagne),
question soulevée par un membre du forum. Grimaces !
Mes questions :
- S'il faut passer par une agence, avez-vous des adresses sûres ? Je veux dire :
qui connaît à Téhéran une agence capable de me fournir un NA, SANS avoir à payer à l'avance,
donc paiement seulement une fois arrivé à Téhéran ?
- Quelqu'un est-il passé par Zarrin Nama Travel Agency (paraîtrait jouir d'une bonne réputation) ?
Pour tout les membres, je dirai ici ce qu'il en aura été de leur réponse...
- Si, avant d'arriver à Téhéran, il faut avoir retenu un hôtel (condition sans laquelle 'de NA tu n'auras pas'),
pouvez-vous me donner des adresses avec prix. Je n'ai pas honte de dire que je suis un 'backpacker'
visant essentiellement des hôtels ou GH en catégorie 'petits budgets'.

absolument pas, de nombreuses agences iraniennes ont l'habitude de proposer comme option le numéro "sec" même si vous voyagez ensuite de manière autonome.

j'étais passé par une agence qui m'a demandé de payer sur place à l'arrivée. Je n'ai même pas eu besoin de passer à l'agence : c'est l'hôtel où j'ai dormi la première nuit qui a encaissé et ma nuit et les frais pour l'agence. Pour le choix de l'hôtel, pas de problème : l'agence m'avait demandé mon accord sur le choix de l'hôtel (secteur, qualité, prix) avant de conclure. Mon interlocutrice à l'agence a été de bon conseil les 2 ou 3 fois où j'ai fait appel à ses services en cours de voyage, et tout-à-fait fiable.
Seul détail qui risque de ne pas vous arranger, ce n'était pas à Téhéran, mais à Shiraz : Iran Traveling Center une toute petite agence, mais elle a des contacts avec d'autres agences ou guides dans plusieurs régions d'Iran. Et il y a sûrement plusieurs agences similaires à Téhéran, mais je ne les connais pas.

2 choses tout de même : peux-tu donner plus de détails au besoin par MP (message privé) sur ce site :
- de quand date ton voyage ? (c'est important)
- ton hôtel : le type d'hôtel que tu souhaitais, le prix que l'agence t'a fait payer ; le prix d'autres hôtels ailleurs
- et si tu as un peu de temps : ce que tu as aimé visiter ou simplement faire là-bas ; comment tu t'es déplacé de ville à ville (avec prix de bus, avion).
N'aie crainte, je ne veux pas m'immiscer dans ta vie privée, c'est juste le besoin de m'informer pour préparer au mieux mon voyage.

comme j'étais en haute saison au début (congés de Noruz), je n'avais pas d'exigences trop précises, mais "assez proche" du centre, et "pas trop" cher (tranche 20-40€). J'ai trouvé moins cher aussi , en partageant des chambres 4-5 places avec d'autres voyageurs ou dans les coins moins touristiques (Bam, Rayen, Tabriz...)

30 € le numéro d'autorisation, 5€ de commission par nuit pour les réservations d'hôtels. Comme je ne voulais pas avoir de contraintes de dates, je ne leur ai demandé de s'occuper de mes réservations que 2 fois (à l'arrivée à Shiraz, et à Ispahan où il y a + de touristes), mais ils ont fait ça très bien. Il suffisait que je leur envoie un mel ou que je leur téléphone 2-3 jours avant.

Et parfois en bus, train ou savari parce que je n'avais pas assez de temps pour tout parcourir à vélo.

Aucun complexe à dire que les hébergements les plus "cheap" sont ceux qui m'intéressent le plus. Peux-tu m'en dire plus au niveau des prix hébergements et déplacements inter-villes ? Tu sais, c'est ce genre d'infos qu'attendent le plus les voyageurs s'enquérant d'un pays qu'ils ne connaissent pas du tout, élaboration d'un budget oblige... (si tu n'aimes pas trop exposer ça publiquement , écris en PM (message privé).
Je vais être en Iran du 07 au 27 mars. Je serai de retour à Téhéran le 23 c'est dire en pleines fêtes (4 jours du Norooz) ! Y a-t-il des ponts sous lesquels crécher (lol) si les hôtels sont pleins à craquer et les lits à des prix prohibitifs ? Bon, ça je verrai sur place. Mais c'est un hôtel à mon arrivée Téhéran le 07 Mars qu'il me faut : qui me donnera le bon tuyau ?
Je traite en ce moment avec TouranZamin, au téléphone ils sont sympas. Avant-goût de la qualité des Iraniens, I hope so.

non, il n'est pas facile de louer un vélo en Iran. Je voyage à vélo, avec mon vélo. Et je n'ai pas visité Téhéran.

fin mars - début avril, il faut bon à Bam, pas encore trop chaud. Pour moi la question de la distance ne se posait pas: j'ai traversé l'Iran de Shiraz à Kerman. Une fois à Rayen, ça aurait été dommage de ne pas passer à Bam en étant si près. Surtout que j'étais en Iran pour 2 mois, pas 2 semaines...

je n'ai pas fait preuve d'originalité, j'ai pioché dans le Lonely Planet. C'est d'ailleurs le problème : la plupart des voyageurs en Iran utilisent ce guide... Prix entre 5 € (une chambre minuscule avec juste un lit sans draps à Rayen, mais vu que je voyage avec mon matériel de bivouac ça ne me gênait pas) et 50 € (à Ispahan, réservation l'avant-veille, les hôtels moins chers étaient déjà complets). On trouve des chambres très correctes à 20€, et des "dortoirs" (chambres partagées 4 à 8 places) à 10€.

Si on se rend à Kerman, Bam n'est plus si éloignée que cela. Encore moins de Rayen.

Il est possible d'y aller en autocar depuis Kerman, ce n'est donc pas vraiment onéreux.
En partant très tôt le matin de Kerman, j'ai visité Bam à la mi-journée, puis Rayen dans l'après-midi, pour aller coucher à Mahan. Par autocar, sauf grand-route -> Rayen où j'ai été pris en auto-stop, puis Rayen -> Mahan en taxi affrété (mais je manquais d'expérience, j'aurais pu le faire en savari, donc pour bien moins cher).

En Iran, les hébergements d'entrée-de-gamme sont appelés "mosaferkhaneh", littéralement "maison pour voyageurs", et sont rarement référencés par le Lonely Planet. Et pour cause, il n'est pas courant que le tenancier parle anglais.
Chambre sans aucun chichi. En général, toilettes et douches partagées. Souvent des possibilités de partager aussi une grande chambre, pour 3-4 personnes, voire plus. Propreté très variable selon l'établissement, j'en ai fréquenté quelques unes exemplairement propres.
Pas de restauration sur place, mais souvent un espace cuisine permet au voyageur de faire sa tambouille. Ainsi que réfrigérateur / congélateur où on peut mettre ces bouteilles d'eau, et même quelques provisions.
On trouve de tels établissements aux abords immédiats du bazar (où l'on peut trouver aisément des bouis-bouis pour manger), car historiquement ils accueillaient les voyageurs de commerce. Pour les trouver, je demandais conseil aux hôtels déjà complets, et m'orientais en questionnant si nécessaire les passants dans la rue.
Avec quelques rudiments de persan (notamment compter !), j'ai pu me débrouiller avec ces mosaferkhaneh sans trop de souci.
A l'été 2010, la nuitée dans une mosaferkhaneh me coûtait de 8 500 à 12 000 tomans, le plus courant étant à 10 000 tomans, avec un taux de change moyen à l'époque de 1 320 tomans pour 1 euro. Soit 7-9 euros / nuitée. Depuis 2010, l'inflation a été très conséquente (mais sans doute bien moindre que la moyenne nationale pénalisée par les produits importés), mais sans doute largement compensée en euro par la variation considérable du taux de change.
Pas de référence de mosaferkhaneh à Shiraz et à Yazd, car j'y avais trouvé des hôtels à prix attractifs (par ex. Orient Hotel de Yazd excellemment négocié à l'époque pour 12 000 tomans, hors petit-déjeuner).
A Ispahan, je n'ai pas pu trouver de mosaferkhaneh avec chambre libre. En ayant l'impression qu'ils ne voulaient pas s'embarrasser d'un étranger, sans doute du fait de paperasse administrative supplémentaire.
Je peux indiquer des mosaferkhaneh (ou équivalent en positionnement) à Ardabil, Kaleybar, Tabriz, Ourumiyeh, Qazvin, Kermanshah, Hamadan.

Cela ne signifie pas pour autant que c'est conforme à la loi. Laquelle est logiquement assez stricte sur la promiscuité inter-sexes hors mariage.
Donc acceptation aléatoire, fonction du tenancier et de ce qu'il paye à la police pour être tranquille.

L'intérêt, c'est qu'il y a sur ce document :
- le nom de chaque partenaire,
- un entête officielle française.
- un tampon officiel.
Cela devrait suffire pour arguer d'un lien "marital" aux yeux d'un iranien.

Par contre, de plus en plus d'iraniens sont capables de lire l'anglais, donc un texte en caractères latins. D'ici à comparer des noms avec ce qui est porté sur un passeport... facile.

Voici les mosaferkhaneh (ou équivalent) où j'ai séjourné à l'été 2010. Coordonnées latitude x longitude permettant de localiser ces établissements sur une carte en ligne, par ex. Google Map.
Ardabil : cela commence mal, je n'avais pas noté le nom de cette mosaferkhaneh. Mais elle est située sur Dr Beheshti Street, en 38°15'12.7"N 48°17'45.9"E (à peu près). Un hamman était encore opérationnel juste en face, donc ni salle-de-bain, ni douche dans cette mosaferkhaneh. Très rustique en conséquence, mais fourneaux et feux à disposition pour cuisiner. Chambres exposées au soleil jusqu'en fin de journée, donc un peu chaudes.
Kaleybar : hôtel Araz, situé très près de Moallem Street en 38°51'48.8"N 47°02'44.7"E. Propre et calme. Douches communes.
Tabriz : hôtel Mashad, localisé sur Ferdowsi Street en 38°04'37.1"N 46°17'27.6"E. Propre et calme, mais rustique, chambre un peu petite, sans point d'eau. Une unique douche collective peu aérée. Très bien situé, entre le bazar et l'axe Est-Ouest de Tabriz, proche d'une gare d'autobus.
Ourumiyeh : hôtel Karoun, situé sur Emam Avenue (le nom semble avoir changé) en 37°32'59.2"N 45°04'21.6"E. Pas facile à trouver car dans une allée transversale commerçante, qui plus est à l'étage.
Calme, propre, accueillant, douches communes.
Qazvin : mosaferkhaneh Golesham, située sur Emam Khomeini Street en 36°16'10.7"N 50°00'08.3"E.
Propre, chambre calme si non sur la rue, douches communes. A proximité de la place centrale. Mais expulsion sans courtoisie à 09h00. Etablissement fermé pendant la journée.
La nuit précédente, j'avais dormi à l'hôtel Markesi (tel (281) 222 6279), mosaferkhaneh propre et calme pour VRP.
Chambre correcte, avec téléviseur, téléphone, mais le prix restait raisonnable. Douche collective. Un peu excentrée en étant au niveau du carrefour du bazar (proche de 36°16'13.1"N 49°59'46.5"E, mais souvenir approximatif).
Kermanshah : Hôtel Nabovat (tel 823 1018), situé sur Modares Street en 34°19'21.4"N 47°04'22.6"E. Bien situé, proche du bazar et de la gare d'autobus.
Chambre calme en dépit de la proximité de la place Azadi. 1 douche partagée, mais propre.
Hamadan : mosaferkhaneh Farsi, sur Shohada Street en 34°47'55.4"N 48°30'59.0"E. Au plus près de la place centrale.
Chambre petite et étroite. Etablissement d'une propreté irréprochable, calme pour les chambres du fond. Réceptionniste très dévoué, assure service de blanchisserie.
Aucun de ces établissements n'avaient de climatisation. Par contre, généralement chauffage au gaz pour la période hivernale.
Je n'ai pas indiqué les prix payés car cela date, et du fait de l'inflation, cela n'a plus beaucoup de sens. A l'été 2010, j'avais payé de 8 500 à 13 000 tomans (1 seul occupant), soit 7 à 10 euros au taux de change de l'époque. A priori, la dépréciation du rial compense l'inflation galopante qu'a connu l'Iran depuis. Prix généralement négociés, d'où l'intérêt de savoir compter en persan 🙂.
Aucun petit-déjeuner servi, pas même en supplément. Sauf au Mashad Hotel de Tabriz qui avait une buvette au sous-sol.
Dans ces établissements, la connaissance de l'anglais est rare, au mieux parcellaire. Ainsi, pour me demander de payer d'avance, un réceptionniste se bornait à répéter de manière insistante "pool, pool, pool!". Jusqu'à ce que je me rappelle que pool signifie "argent" en persan.
I have two questions about applying for a Non-Immigrant O Visa at the Thai embassy in France for someone over 50:

- - Financial proof: Is a retirement statement showing over 2,000 € per month sufficient, or are bank statements also required?

I’m planning a trip to Laos from France with a transit through Thailand involving 2 entries. I might spend up to 7 days max in Thailand (round trip).
The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?
I’m leaning toward the first option, but to avoid any administrative hassles with Thailand (fines, etc.) and before booking my ticket, your input would really help.

That’s great, of course, and my wife and I are planning to visit them. However, flights that go through the United States are causing us a problem because we’ve been to Cuba. The information I’ve found about whether an international permit is required is contradictory. Some sources say you need one, others say you don’t.

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!

I’m heading to Seoul in September, and to do that I need to get a travel authorization that we apply for through K-ETA....... turns out I can (barely, I admit) fill out the form up to the address of our "stay location," but every address I’ve entered has been rejected by the system. I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....
So, to anyone who’s successfully gotten the authorization, could you tell me which address you used to get that "elusive" approval?...

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

We’ll soon be moving to Madagascar long-term.
As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).
If you have any info on this, I’d appreciate your replies.

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

There are rumors going around about the ETA: it must absolutely be on your smartphone in the "ETA" app.
Paper documents might not be accepted.
Is this real or just a hoax?

We need to apply for a B2 visa because we visited Iran in 2018. It currently costs $185, but they’re planning an additional $250 fee per person for the same visa—it’s been approved but not yet implemented. Does anyone know when this fee will take effect?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
Has anyone here been in this situation recently?
Did the airline ask for an exit ticket before boarding?
Did Chinese authorities require proof upon arrival?
Is a train/bus ticket to Vietnam sufficient?
Is a cancelable or flexible reservation accepted?
Calme, propre, accueillant, douches communes.
Propre, chambre calme si non sur la rue, douches communes. A proximité de la place centrale. Mais expulsion sans courtoisie à 09h00. Etablissement fermé pendant la journée.
Chambre correcte, avec téléviseur, téléphone, mais le prix restait raisonnable. Douche collective. Un peu excentrée en étant au niveau du carrefour du bazar (proche de 36°16'13.1"N 49°59'46.5"E, mais souvenir approximatif).
Chambre calme en dépit de la proximité de la place Azadi. 1 douche partagée, mais propre.
Chambre petite et étroite. Etablissement d'une propreté irréprochable, calme pour les chambres du fond. Réceptionniste très dévoué, assure service de blanchisserie.
