Maintenant depuis quelques mois l'envie me reprends de voyager mais seul de laisser ma mere souffler lol et de voyager mais moi mon but est de rester dans un pays et apprendre la langue j'habite en france et je voudrais allez d'abords en belgique puis au pays-bas et y rester pendant quelques mois mais voila le probleme c'est que j'ai un budget limiter et que j'ai 16ans j'ai une carte d'identité et un passeport perimé depuis 2ans et ce que il me faut des autres papiers mon but est soit de partir en train mais je comprends rien et j'ai peur car il faut changer de train etc
ps: si quelqu'un peut m'expliquer le changement de train sa serait avec plaisir
ou sinon en auto stop mais voila es ce que j'aurai des problemes avec des conducteur vu mon jeune age et surtout a la frontiere.
ps: sa peut sembler a une fugue mais c plus pour que j'apprenne la vie avec ses difficultes et que je prenne de l'assurance et que j'apprenne des choses culturellement.

je suppose que tu sais que l'on parle francais en Belgique, je ne t'apprend rien, et ... flamand !! pareil en Hollande , néérlandais. Un Francais qui veut apprendre le flamand, etonnant. Sans prerequis ? selon moi, dur d'apprendre ça sur le tas.
Pourquoi le choix de ces pays pour apprendre une langue ? tu as une idée derrière la tête ? un projet d' avenir dans ces pays ? car le flamand ne te menera pas franchement loin...
En plus, tu souhaites te demerder comment en etant mineur pendant plusieurs mois dans un autre pays ? tu envisages de bosser ? je pense que tu devrais plutot partir accompagnée, via un organisme peut-être ou un ami majeur. car je ne pense pas que tu auras un asses facile même au niveau des hotels en etant mineur (je me trompe peut-être) mais comme tu dis, ca risque d'eveiller les soupcons
euh oui tu te trompes. Les langues sont aussi différentes que le français et l'espagnol.
Pour information, à 16 ans avec une carte d'identité, tu auras besoin d'une autorisation de sortie du territoire signée de tes parents.
euhh très proche bofbof quand même !! sache juste que si tu as envie d'apprendre une langue qui pourra te servir plus tard dans ta vie professionnelle, et bien ce n'est peut-être pas le flamand qu'il faut choisir en 1er, sauf si tu rêves de bosser en Flandre ou en Hollande bien sur 🙂
je ne connais pas d'organisme en particulier, encore moins francais, mais peut-être un échange linguistique genre erasmus (mais ça c'est dans le cadres scolaire) ou un stage à l'étranger.... il y a le service volontaire européen, à voir avec eux concernant ton âge. Fait quelques recherches sur le net, tu devrais trouver facilement bonne chance

Parce qu 'un jeune, qui voyage seul et qui semble perdu est vite repéré. Ca parait louche à tout le monde.
Perdu tu vas l'être, à Anvers c'est grand, et tu ne vas rien comprendre, ni pouvoir te faire comprendre..
Tu ne trouveras jamais de travail sans parler le flamand/néerlandais courament.
Quand aux Pays Bas, déjà la vie est très chère, surtout les hotels, et tes économies vont fondre comme neige au soleil..
Pour y rester, en arrivant il faut aller s'inscrire à la mairie, avoir une adresse et justifier de revenus ou d'un contrat de travail ( mais en Belgique ça doit être pareil ), et on te donne un numéro d'identification, sans lequel tu ne peux rien faire.
Si tu n'es pas passé par cette case et que tu te fais controler, ce qui ne manquera pas d'arriver, ils vont te ramener au Consulat de France..qui te ramènera en France et accompagné comme tu es mineur et la note sera salée.
Mais surtout, seul tu risques de faire de mauvaises rencontres, quel que soit le pays.
La police t'arrétera , ou les gens appelleront la police , pour cette raison et pour te protéger..
Personne ne prendra le risque de faire travailler un mineur seul au black , et donc ne rêve pas d'y rester pour apprendre la langue.
Ils ont des cours gratuits pour leurs immigrés qu 'ils ont choisi, pour les intégrer, mais ça ne marche pas pour les européens.
Dans d'autres pays c'est arrivé qu 'on fasse bosser des jeunes, bien plus grands que toi, et qu 'à la fin de la semaine on les mette à la porte sans les payer.. Et ce n'est pas le seul risque.
Enfin si tu devais aller à l'hopital, on va présenter la facture à ta mère si tu n'as pas fait les démarches auprès de la sécu avant de partir..
Pour partir à l'étranger il y a des organismes internationaux pour les jeunes, mais il faut bien connaitre la langue pour pouvoir aller au bahut.
Si ça te démange vraiment, de partir à l'étranger. Prépares toi pour l'année prochaine en été, tu dois pouvoir travailler comme saisonnier. Ma fille est allée faire des vendanges en Allemagne, mais chez des gens qu 'on connait.
Il y a aussi des échanges linguistiques : tu reçois un jeune etranger chez toi et tu vas chez lui après.
Dans les villes, parfois c'est possible avec les villes jumelles, et ça permet au moins de connaitre des gens, de parler avec eux des possibilités.
Mais ne pars pas seul à l'aventure comme ça, et surtout pas sans en parler à ta mère..

Lorsqu 'on voyage, devant les consulats, on voit souvent des jeunes qui ont parfois la trentaine et qui se sont mis dans la m... Parfois le consulat peut aider , mais il envoie la note à la famille..
Je ne t'explique même pas si tu as un problème qui t'envoie devant un tribunal, c'est pas la France . Ce sera avocat et interprète à payer.
Il y a aussi des assurances , mais si tu es mineur il faudra l'autorisation de ta mère..
Prépares ça comme il faut, tu en profiteras davantage, que d'aller te fourer dans une galère.
Si tu as déjà peur de changer de train à Lille , imagines dans un pays dont tu ne parles pas la langue..
Sur un controle d'identité , mineur sans autorisation de ta mère, tu vas finir au poste ..
C'est aussi plus simple d'attendre d'être majeur, même si les précautions sont les mêmes et la préparation de son séjour indispensable..
Je pense comme les autres, tu devrais attendre d'avoir 18 ans. Ce sera moins compliqué et ça t'évitera des ennuis.
De plus, tu auras le temps de mettre un peu d'argent de côté et d'apprendre les bases de langue du pays de ton choix. En arrivant avec une certaine base de la langue, ça facilitera ton intégration. Et tu trouveras plus facilement tu travail aussi.
Pour le choix de la langue justement, l'anglais me semblerait le choix le plus judicieux. Sauf si tu maîtrise déjà très bien cette langue.
Sinon l'Espagnol ou l'Allemand te serait certainement plus utile dans la vie que le Néérlandais 🤪

C'est quand même un peu plus simple que ça de voyager en UE même pour un mineur de 16 ans (qui soit dit en passant peut aussi avoir un gabarit de pilier de rugby ou même être sportif professionnel).

Il existe des organismes pour apprendre une langue étrangère à l'étranger en étant logé (hotel (même pour les mineurs) ou apparts partagés ou famille d'accueil ou sans logement : tu te demmerde par tes propres moyens pour trouver qqc). Ca existe pour tous les pays, c'est plutôt cher (au min 200€ par semaine pour les cours et le logement, bien sûr c'est dégressif), mais si tu peux c'est un bon moyen d'apprendre une langue. Malte est par exemple spécialisé là dedans.
Il existe aussi des organismes pour te permettre d'aller passer quelques mois dans un lycée étranger dans une classe de niveau équivalente à la tienne, pas la peine de bien savoir parler la langue, il faut juste faire les démarches. Tu seras logé en famille d'accueil.

et je suis d'accord que si déjà 30 euros, tu ne veux pas les lacher, bin je vois pas comment tu payeras ne fut ce que tes transports.... maintenant, faut pas exagerer non plus, la Belgique ou la Hollande, c'est pas la brousse, en etant un peu debrouillard et en utilisant sa langue, on peut aller partout, maintenant faut être aussi debrouillard, et tu ne m'as pas l'air de l'être (vu que tu flippes rien que pour un bête changemet de train à Lille) et même à Anvers ou dans n' importe quelle ville flamande, tu n'auras pas de mal à trouver ton chemin, les flamands parlent bien le français en general, tu en trouveras bien un pour te renseigner.

Que tu le puisses, surement. Mais légalement non.
Tu devrais prendre ton temps, rien ne presse, à mon avis il y a d'autres choses à faire quand on a 16 ans...
Si tu veux mon conseil : Commences par apprendre l'anglais par toi-même, en plus des cours que tu peux suivre au collège, lycée etc. Il y a des sites sur internet très biens pour ça (Babbel notemment), ou alors prends des cours particuliers. Commences à regarder des films anglais sous-titrés en français pour te familiariser avec l'accent, puis ensuite des films anglais sous-titrés anglais, puis ensuite en anglais sans sous-titres...
Savoir parler couramment Anglais te permettra de comprendre et te faire comprendre quasiment partout, même dans les pays où l'anglais n'est pas la langue de base. Tu trouvera toujours dans chaque pays du globe une poignée de personnes qui parlera Anglais. Par contre tu ne trouvera pas dans chaque pays du globe une personne parlant flamand ou néerlandais, ça c'est certain... 🙂
Alors à moins que tes envies de voyage ne se concentrent que sur la Belgique et les Pays-Bas, apprends l'anglais dès maintenant, c'est une langue facile à apprendre et à utiliser si on s'y met régulièrement.
Concernant le voyage en lui-même, je rejoins l'avis des autres : Prépares le à l'avance et parles-en à tes parents, à ton entourage, ne pars pas sans aucune préparation et sans en informer personne, car en effet là ça ressemblerait juste à une fugue et pas à un voyage, et une fugue n'a que des défauts tandis qu'un voyage c'est tout le contraire. 😉 En plus quoi de mieux que de partir à l'étranger quand tu sais que tes parents et tes amis le savent et te soutiennent ? 😛
Tu pourras partir "à l'arrache" avec très peu de préparation plus tard, quand tu aura de la bouteille, mais pour l'instant tout ce que tu risques de gagner à faire ça c'est au mieux de vivre une mauvaise expérience et de revenir en France avec l'envie de ne plus sortir et de rester enfermé chez toi, au pire d'avoir des ennuis et de très mal finir.. Et ce n'est pas ça que tu veux 🙂

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. I’ve found some great deals on flights to two destinations: Menorca in the Balearic Islands and Alghero in Sardinia.
The flights would take us from Bordeaux to Menorca on the evening of 9/07 and return to Bordeaux in the evening on 13/07.
Or to Alghero very early on 10/07 (departure at 6 AM) and return in the mid-afternoon on 13/07.
We love beautiful landscapes, the sea, snorkeling, walks (hiking), and the charm of villages.
We want to spend some quality time as a couple without our kids and mix discovery with relaxation.
I can’t make up my mind. The transport costs are roughly the same when you factor in parking for Sardinia since the early departure means no public transport from home.
We’ve never been to Menorca, Sardinia, or Italy at all. I’ve been to Majorca, though.
Menorca would be 4 nights and 4 days, while Alghero would be 3 nights and 2.5 days.
Also, what itinerary would you recommend for Alghero and Menorca?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wanting to visit both countries. Are there any great tips to drastically reduce the cost of renting a car?

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
We’re a group of 4 heading out at the end of June for 11 days.
I’m just starting my research.
We’ll be renting a regular car, not a 4x4.
I’m not finding a ton of info on the North.
Would love your take on all those kilometers—is there a route that lets us cut out a section?
