2/ Ce guide, voyage t-il en général avec ses clients pendant tout le voyage donc du Caire à Abou Simbel et retour ? -- Ou y a-t-il plusieurs guides ?
3/ Ce guide conduit-il ou y a t-il aussi un chauffeur ?

je vais tenter de repondre à vos questions dans l'ordre :
1 / 8 à 10 jours pour le caire LXR ASW ABS est TRES COURT !!
dans le laps de temps vous ferez donc la course ou ne verez qu'une intro à l'egypte sans pouvoir faire tous les sites majeurs !
préférez alors vous limiter à la haute Egypte = Louxor Assouan et ABS.
ou rajouter 3 jours pour ainsi vous donner 2 semaines pour faire le grand tour !! ...et cela restera chargé si vous voulez tout voir !
2 / les guides locaux en egypte n'ont pas license pour faire des réservations, ils sont guide free lance ET C'est TOUT !
si vous voulez des résas de vols, d'hotel ( vous pouvez les faire sur internet par vous meme) vous devez faire appel à une agence de voyage ou agence réceptive locale.
si vous préparez votre itinéraire avec une agence européene, elle passera de toute facon le dossier à une agence locale et se prendra sa comission, vosu pouvez donc sans problème vous fier à une agence locale qui fera le meme travail sans intermédiaire additionnel ( celui ci servant surtout justement pour les gens qui ne parlent anglais) il vosu fadura par contr trouver par vous meme une agence fiable avec qui communiquer tous vos désideratas ! ( et qui communique donc en francais !)
3 / si vous souhaitez que votre guide vous accompagne du caire à abou simbel, il vous faudra alors prendre en charge sur votre prix du voyage ses frais à lui d'avion et d'hotel !
l'accompagnent sinon peu etre proposé par les agences par un guide local sur chaque ville, vous prenant en charge d'un aeroport à l'autre, ou d'un transport à l'autre ( et rentrant dormir chez lui le soir) sachant cependant que le niveau et la qualité de celui ci est hélas souvent tres fluctuant d'une ville a l'autre !
la qualité d'un guide qui vous accompagnera tout le long du voyage et aura ainsi un fil conducteur poru son discours se paye bien sur !!
3 bis / les guides ne sont JAMAIS LES CHAUFFEURS !!
en egypte , il s'agit de 2 metiers bien distincts ....
le besoin de se concentrer sur la route pour le chauffeur lui prenant toute son attention, et le niveau d'étude des guides ne les invitant pas vraiement vers le metier de chauffeur, car ayant un salaire baisque en Egypte.
NB/ si un guide vous propose ses services en guide chauffeur, cela sera le plus souvent un guidage en BLACK avec sa voiture privée ( non déclarée via une agence et non assurée) , attention que vous ne serez dans ce cas JAMAIS couvert par des assurances autres que votre propre assurance personnelle !!
4 / les grandes agences ayant pignons sur rue ont des numéros d'enregistrement officielles et doivent les afficher sur leurs sites internet.
devoir r&égler des accomptes font partie des procédures classiques partout au monde ; cela est un risque à prendre dans le choix d'une agence locale.
= le meme risque pour la qualité des prestations proposées ...c'est ce qui fait la réputation des agences francaises = leur fiabilité sur le choix, le niveau et la garantie de prestation , car ce sont eux qui sont responsables et qui pilotent ce type de risque et de problème en choisisant leur prestataires locaux !

J'ai été en contact avec une agence locale qui a des guides fancophones. Ils m'ont l'air sérieux et ont un site Internet. C'est l'agence Memphis tours. Vous trouverez peut-être ce que vous cerchez. J'ajoute qu'évidemment, je n'ai aucun intérêt dans cette agence :-)

Déjà , oubliez le Caire ... ou prenez des j en plus ! Ceci étant dit, de quoi avez vous besoin : de 2 hôtels ( Louxor et Assouan) et évent. d'1 à A. S.
Pas besoin de grandes agences pour cela, vous pouvez tranquillement regarder et trouver cela sur le Net ( des conseils si vous voulez mais il faudrait avoir une idée de vos préférences et budget .
Puis, le mieux serait : un guide à Louxor et un ( autre) à Assouan .
A priori, je ne suis pas pour les grosses agences généralistes, clé en main, et qui risquent de vous imposer un pgm inamovible .
Vous n'êtes plus des enfants et on ne doit pas vous prendre par la main pour aller d'un point à 1 autre, sans vouloir vous vexer : rien de plus facile!
Je vous donne les mails de mes connaissances en MP ; vous trouverez ou ils vous enverrons des prop. de visites, des itinéraires et leur prix .
Ils peuvent venir avec leur chauffeur et leur voiture, climatisée, ... ou vous prenez un taxi ( très bon marché ) et embarquez le guide : les prix ne seront bien sûr pas les mêmes !

My plan is roughly to do a road trip loop from Rabat back to Rabat, passing through Asilah, Tangier, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Akchour, Fès, Meknès, and Volubilis.
That’s a lot of cities.
Probably a bit too many for our taste—we usually prefer more isolated spots...
So I’m looking for tips on little backroads, secluded beaches, half-day hikes, and offbeat places.

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...
Anyone here who can share their experience of returning? I specified “recently” because it seems that right now, diplomatic relations between the two governments are extremely tense, not to say hostile... even if Macron claims otherwise...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Even though I come to Morocco four times a year, it’s been a long time since I’ve made the trip by car. I need to refresh my knowledge! I’ll be traveling in early October. I have a car that’s about 20 years old. The plan is to cross via Algeciras/Ceuta.

Day 3: Stop in Tetouan
Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains
Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!)
Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.
Day 1: Arrival in Hurghada in the evening
Day 2, 3, 4: Hurghada
Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon
Day 8, 9, 10, 11: Hurghada
Day 12: Return flight
For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
