ehhh ben vous aurez besoin de votre passeport ainsi que les passeports de vos enfants, vous n'avez pas besoin d'avoir de passeport haïtien. je suis moi-même d'origine haïtienne et je rentre en Haïti avec mon passeport canadien.
si vous ne connaissez personne ou n'avoir pas de famille proche sur place qui vous héberge ou vous guide, je vous conseillerai de voyager en forfait tout inclus, ainsi, on vous prendra en charge depuis l’aéroport jusqu’à votre départ du pays, croyez-moi, ça vous reviendra bien moins cher que de voyager par vous-même pour un premier voyage la bas avec des enfants.
pour un touriste ordinaire, Haïti peut paraitre cher comparer a la concurrence de la région, pour un routard expérimenter non.

hinche se trouve dans le département du centre et est au centre du pays a environs 4h de l'aéroport de Port-au-Prince, dépendamment du moyen de transport.
si vous ne parlez pas créole, vous aurez surement de la misère a comprendre les gens sur place, du moins dans un premier temps.
est-ce que vous maintenez les contacts avec les familles a hinche? et est -ce qu'il y'a de la confiance?
ne parlant pas créole sachez, bien que je considère Haïti relativement sécuritaire pour un touriste(mon point de vue d'haitien) vous devez faire preuve d'une certaine prudence. Certaines personnes, comme partout dans les pays du sud, auront tendance a croire que vous êtes riches, puisque venue d'europe, et vous charge en fonction de votre tête.

Une amie vit en Haïti depuis 4 ans. Elle vient de nous inviter à passer 2 semaines avec sa famille.
Je suis très attiré par cette expérience avec mes 2 enfants de 5 et 7 ans, mais je suis un peu stressé par ce que je peux lire sur les "conseils aux voyageurs" de l'Etat français.
Elle sera bien sûr là avec nous pour nous accompagner et nous guider dans nos déplacements, mais est-ce que cela suffit pour passer un séjour tranquille?
J'ai beaucoup voyagé un peu partout dans le monde sac à dos, mais je ne suis jamais parti dans un pays qui était vivement déconseillé par l'état.
Est-ce que quelqu'un aurait un avis?

Il est vrai que ce qu'on lit n'encourage pas à aller en Haïti. Deux amies hésitaient à partir, ensemble nous avons organisé leur voyage. Une est partie en mars avec ses grands enfants et l'autre vient juste de revenir. Elle était avec son mari et son fils de 10 ans. Ils sont revenus enchantés!
Niveau sécurité, il n'y a pas eu de souci particulier, sachant qu'ils y ont fait attention quand même, mais pas plus que dans d'autres pays.
De plus, si votre amie sera présente, si elle peut venir vous chercher à l'aéroport et vous accompagner, vous limitez les risques.
Si vous avez des questions particulières, n'hésitez pas!

J'ai eu notre amie au téléphone et elle a la même analyse que vous. Elle dit que certains quartiers de Port aux Princes ne sont pas recommandés mais que le reste du pays est sans souci. Elle ne comprend pas que les avis officiels sur Haïti soient si pessimistes.

je préfère entendre ses commentaires d'un non haïtien car, plus objectifs. si on commence a croire les recommandations des bureaucrates, personne bougeraient de chez eux. la marjorité des crimes en Haïti sont, soient politiques, ou des gens qui sont mêlés a des affaires louches comme, ils en existent dans beaucoup de pays.
je fais en moyenne 2 a 3 voyages par an et je suis toujours en un seul morceau.

Je viens tout juste de rentrer d'Haiti et je peux vous répondre avec un grand OUI vous pouvez acheter votre billet. En plus vous avez quelqu’un sur place (c'est mieux d’être accompagné d'après moi, je dirai même c'est nécessaire ). J'espère qu'on va vous faire découvrir ce beau pays car Haiti ce n'est pas que les quartiers de Port au Prince (qu'il faut certes éviter ) mais c'est aussi Jacmel (mon coup de coeur ) avec ses belles plages et bassin bleu , c'est aussi cap Haïtien avec ses plages , la citadelle , palais sans soucis ( même si la route pour y aller est difficile ) Haiti c'est aussi Petion ville en hauteur , c'est aussi une culture très riche, Haiti c'est aussi île vache un paradis, Haiti c'est ............................vous verrez par vous même . Si vous avez des questions , n'hésitez pas.

Haïti est relativement sécuritaire en ce moment , le pays commence à trouver une stabilité mais vous devez faire preuve d'une certaine prudence comme partout. Et comme il a précisé certaines personnes vont penser que vous êtes riche. Etant donné que vous ne parlez pas créole , je vous conseille d'avoir un contact sur place , un guide ou un accompagnateur , qui peut vous prendre en charge à l’aéroport et vous faire découvrir Haiti . D'ailleurs je ne conseille pas à quelqu'un de partir sans guide ou sans une personne sur place ( ce n'est pas pour une question de sécurité ) la raison est simple Haiti n'est pas encore très touristique , il y a très peu d'informations, et pour se déplacer un guide ou un accompagnateur est nécessaire. si vous avez des questions ou des précisions n'hésitez pas .

si vous voulez faire de l'humanitaire pour vous rendre utile, cela va dependre de vos compétences. si les enfants sont trop petits et si vous n'avez pas de famille en Haiti, il sera dificile de faire de l'humanitaire avec de jeunes enfants.

Me voici de retour d'Haïti après 2 semaines de balades dans le pays.
Nous sommes partis en famille avec nos 2 enfants de 7 et 5 ans qui se sont très vite et très bien adaptés à la vie haïtienne, alors que ce voyage n’a pas toujours été facile.
Nous avons séjourné dans la belle vallée de l’Artibonite puis visité l’Île-à-Vache dans le Sud.
L’accueille des haïtiens a été magnifique, nous avons fait de très belles rencontres, et jamais nous n’avons ressenti de l’insécurité. Nous avons vécu portes ouvertes, avec les enfants du coin quasiment toujours avec nous, et il n’y a eu aucun vol.
La traversée de Port-au-Prince nous a paru un peu hostile. Beaucoup d’embouteillages, de monde et d’ordures.
Ce fût une très belle expérience, mais je pense qu’il est effet préférable de voyager avec des haïtiens ou quelqu’un qui connait le pays, car ce n’est pas facile de trouver le bon tap-tap ou le bon taxi-moto. Les hôtels sont très chers (100$US) et vraiment pas très confortables.
Merci du retour, ça confirme que les médias exagèrent sur presque tout en Haïti. Je confirme que les hotels peuvent paraître un peu cher mais, c’est un peu le résultat des quelques 10,000 ONG qui se sont livrés batailles pour le contrôle de chaque bout de territoire, surtout, après le tremblement de terre. Ils sont épouvantables, ces ONG.
Par contre, on peut trouver des hôtels, un peu rustiques pour certains, utilisés en grande partie par la diaspora haïtienne pour 50$ ou moins avec air conditionné et un confort correct. Mais, pour la plupart ils ne sont pas répertoriés sur internet malheureusement, il faut des connaissances.
C’est toujours bien de lire des retours sur mon pays d’origine 🙂

Pour moi c'est clairement la première semaine à Deschapelles, car nous étions posé avec les haïtiens. Nous avons fait pâques (bricolages, dessins, oeufs) avec les enfants du coins, nous avons joué au foot, et nous avons visité l'hôpital, l'école et la boulangerie. Nous avons passé une journée dans les Mornes où nous avons découvert les villages et cette vie encore plus difficile.
J'ai aimé cette "vie de quartier" car, pour moi, l'intérêt c'est de découvrir la vie des gens du pays.
La deuxième partie, plus "touristique", nous a fait faire beaucoup d'heure de route. J'ai pu découvrir d'autres paysages et bien sûr le bord de la mer, mais j'ai moins rencontré les haïtiens.
Mes enfants ont adoré ce voyage. Je suis très fier d'eux, car ils se sont parfaitement intégrés aux autres enfants, ils ont mangé de tout et goûté à tout. Ils ont été malades, car l'hygiène est quand même difficile à gérer dans ce pays, mais finalement grâce à un hôpital sur l'Île-à-Vache ils ont été bien soigné.
Mais... je ne suis pas revenu indemne de ce voyage...

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?
