Hi, I’d love some tips for visiting Costa Rica with someone who can’t walk for long distances. Is it doable? Thanks for your feedback!

Absolutely! Costa Rica is totally doable, even for someone with mobility challenges. You just need to choose your stops carefully: prioritize beaches, waterfalls accessible by car, and boat excursions, and avoid long hikes in the parks. It’s best to plan fewer moves and take your time, since some roads can be exhausting. With an adapted itinerary, you can really enjoy it!

Hi there, Costa Rica isn’t just a destination for hikers—there are tons of sites (parks, volcanoes, etc.) and beaches you can visit by car. Renting a car isn’t mandatory, but it’s highly recommended.

For my part, I went with my wife and my son, who was only 5 at the time, and we didn’t walk much. We rented a regular car. A 4x4 really isn’t necessary for most of the road network.
