J'ai validé ma 1ère année de master de psychologie en France, mais malehureusement je n'ai pas été acceptée dans une université cette année pour effectuer ma 2ème année de master. Ainsi, cette année je retente les concours pour la rentrée prochaine en master 2 de psychologie.
Je pensais peut-être faire ma 2ème année de master au Canada, mais en regardant les site des universités, des questions me sont parvenues...
Sur les sites, il a été mentionné 1er cyle, 2ème cycle et 3ème cycle. Je pensais que le 1er cycle correspondait à la licence, le 2ème cycle au master et le 3ème cycle au doctorat. Cependant, j'ai lu sur certains sites la chose suivante:
- 1ER CYCLE : baccalauréat en psychologie + certificat en psychologie
- 3EME CYCLE : doctorat en psychologie
Je ne comprends donc pas ce système... Le master fait-il parti du 1er cycle? est-ce qu'il correspond au certificat de psychologie ?
Autre question, j'ai pu lire ceci :
" La M. Sc. (psychologie) n’offre aucune formation professionnelle en psychologie et ne comporte aucun stage de formation clinique. Ces volets relèvent exclusivement des programmes de Ph. D. (psychologie – recherche et intervention) et D. Psy."
le M. Sc. correspond il au master ? Cela veut-il dire qu'en master il n'y a pas de stage ? Et qu'il y en a qu'en doctorat ?
Il me semble que pour être psychologue au Canada, il faut forcément aller jusqu'au doctorat (réforme qui date de quelques années).
Ceci expliquerait donc l'absence de stage en Master... A confirmer cependant parce que je ne suis pas sûre à 100%.
Une autre option intéressante aurait été le stage au Canada, mais il faut être inscrit dans une université je crois pour la convention... A creuser éventuellement, je sais qu'une copine était partie 9 mois pour un stage avec une neuropsychologue réputée et ça avait plu... Même si finalement elle est partie en M2R ^^
Mais pas de problème d'inscription universitaire pour elle puisqu'elle ne s'était pas présentée à un partiel afin de justement faire son M1 en 2 ans et donc pouvoir faire des stages pendant l'année pour optimiser son CV. C'est d'ailleurs ce que faisaient la plupart de mes collègues de M1 (M1 en 2 ans) avant de présenter la candidature au M2.
Pour info, je suis en M2R Cognitive à Lyon et c'est ce que font 99% des étudiants en clinique vu les critères de sélection... Un peu moins hard en santé / sociale / neuropsy...
Tu avais candidaté où, et pour quelle spécialité?
Parce que l'université catholique de Lyon a ouvert cette année un master de psycho (j'ai fait ma licence là bas) de clinique de l'enfant et de l'adolescent (pas sûre pour le titre, mais c'est quelque chose du genre), et en toute logique le M2 devrait ouvrir pour septembre l'année prochaine... Bon, niveau prix, c'est du privé, mais si jamais ça t'intéresse, c'est à creuser car comme le master vient d'ouvrir, il est peut être plus accessible aussi!
La maîtrise (on ne dit pas master au Québec sauf dans une conversation en anglais) est en effet un diplôme de 2ème cycle. Mais en psychologie, il faut obligatoirement un doctorat pour devenir psychologue. C'est pourquoi il n'y a pas de stage ni d'études cliniques au niveau M.Sc
C'est un peu comme la médecine: on ne peut pas "faire une maîtrise" en médecine , c'est directement le doctorat.

J'étais en Master 1 de Psychologie Clinique. J'ai validé mon année à 12,5 de moyenne et j'avais obtenu un super stage au sein d'un hôpital de jour pour enfants. Malheureusement, cela n'a pas suffit à pouvoir continuer mes études. J'ai voulu faire le master en un an, pensant que c'était plus valorisant (d'ailleurs c'était ce discours que tenaient les enseignants). Si j'avais su, j'aurai fait mon master 1 en deux ans et fait un stage de longue durée à l'étranger, comme tu le mentionnais dans ton message.
Dans ma situation, comment penses-tu que je pourrais valoriser mon dossier pour les inscriptions en juin prochain ?
Alors... Le doctorat en France c'est Bac+8, et peut s'étendre jusqu'à 9 avec dérogation (4 ans de thèse au lieu des 3 de base). Je suppose que c'est pareil au Canada, quoique s'ils se basent sur le modèle américain, les thèses peuvent aller jusqu'à 5 ans (mais ça c'est une autre histoire). Mais au final, le diplôme de Doctorat est international, donc pas besoin d'équivalence (comme la Licence +3 ici alors que son équivalent canadien, est +4).
Là où je suis à Lyon, ils nous disent que pour la sélection en M2 ils ne regardent pas en dessous de 14 de moyenne générale (après, entre ce qu'ils disent et ce qu'ils font, je ne peux pas te dire...). En même temps, ils ont environ 500 candidatures pour le M2Pro Clinique, et une 40taine de places je crois (peut être maxi 60, je ne connais pas les quotas exactement), donc ils ont largement le choix... C'est pour ça que tout le monde le fait en 2 ans (c'est d'ailleurs eux qui le conseillent).
Avec le recul, je pense que pour mes amies qui ont candidaté en M2Pro cette année en plus était finalement très utile : stages en plus, et même simplement vis à vis du mémoire, beaucoup plus de recul, de temps pour élaborer et réfléchir leur cas clinique, apporter des arguments théoriques, etc etc... La différence de rythme était flagrante par rapport au rythme du M2 dans l'écriture du mémoire.
Du coup, pour juin, je sais pas trop, si t'avais posé la question en septembre, il y aurait pu avoir l'option de faire un DU proposé par la fac (à Lyon y'en a pas mal en rapport avec la psycho, suivant ton projet professionnel ça peut être très intéressant) en cours du soir, et du coup ça laisse le temps de trouver un stage la journée + t'es étudiante, donc tu peux faire des stages car convention avec l'établissement.
Mais là éventuellement, pourquoi pas du bénévolat, en association en rapport avec ton projet pro (ça montre que tu es toujours motivée et intéressée) ou alors dans une structure spécialisée, pourquoi pas faire un CDD ou temps partiel en tant qu'AMP ou autre, même si c'est pas un poste directement en lien avec la psy comme on peut en avoir en stage, au moins tu es dans la structure et tu participes quand même à la vie de la structure. Ca te permet également d'avoir un autre point de vue sur le travail, le fonctionnement de l'équipe, les relations entre les différents corps de métier...
Après à toi de pouvoir justifier ça lors de l'entretien de M2.
Enfin, je sais pas à combien d'universités tu avais postulé, mais c'est clair que plus tu postules, plus tu as de chance d'être acceptée. A toi de voir les M2 qui peuvent t'intéresser ailleurs en France (ou Belgique ou Suisse, j'en connais pas mal de ma promo de Licence qui sont parties là bas parce qu'elles ne voulaient pas postuler à Lyon).
Pour ma part, je suis en M2 Recherche en Cognitive, et j'envisage une petite pause Working Holiday avant d'entamer une thèse, que j'aimerais faire à l'étranger.

Ceci étant un projet dont j'y crois , j'invite toutes personnes intéressées à apporter une touche personnelle, sous la forme d'un conseil, une orientation et enfin une implication.
NB: projet à l'échelle nationale et internationale au niveau de l'emplois.
