Bonjour,
Après une bonne dizaine de voyages en Asie (Thaïlande, Indonésie, Cambodge, Vietnam, Malaysie, Singapore, HK, Chine, Japon, etc), unami et moi (dans la trentaine) partons pour 21 jours (21 jours complets surplace) aux Philippines.
Nous aimons habituellement faire un peu de trek, beaucoupvoyager (bouger), ne pas trop s’attarder sur les plages à ne rien faire, bref voir du pays. Nous sommes surtout fan de beau paysages, plus que de lieux culturel et même si nous adorons le contact avec les locaux, ce n'est pas notre priorité sur un voyage aussi court en temps.
Voici mon programme.
Arrivé le 20 décembre 2013 à 9h20 à Clark avec le vol deQatar Airways. Repos la journée et organisation du trek sur le Pinatubo.
21 : Trek sur Pinatubo puis route sur Manille ou départpour Banaue ?
22 : Vol direct Manille – île de Coron (arrivé à 13:20)
23 Visite des lacs sur l’île de Coron.
24 Trajet Coron-El Nido.
25-27 : Au moins 2x1 jour d’excursion dans l’archipeldes Bacuit et 1 jour pour roder autout d’El Nido (que faire ?)
28 Trajet sur Port Barton
29 Trajet Port Barton Puerto-Princesa
30 Honda bay
31 Vol sur Cebu puis direction Olsob (pour aller voir lelendemain les requins Baleine oui je sais ils sont nourri, ce n’est pas bien, etc etc j’en ai lu pendant des heures à ce sujet..)
1 Nage avec les Requins (tôt le matin)puis direction Bohol.
2 Bohol, visite des Chocolate Hills
3 Trajet Bohol Cebu (en bateau) puis direction Boracay.
4-5 Boracay
6 Trajet Boracay Manille
7 Journée Manille – Volcan Taal
8-9-10 Boucle sur Banaue-Bontoc et retour sur Clark (pasidéal mais nous avons notre vol de retour à Clark)…
11 Vol retour à 12h05
Que dois-je modifier selon vous ?
Dans les variables, il y a Banaue. Ce n’est pas ma priorité.Le reste oui.
Fan de volcan, j’aimerais aussi aller voir le Mayon, maisvaut-il vraiment la peine de perde 2 jours pour cela ?
Un crochet à Negras pour faire du trek plutôt que banaue ?
Banaue à faire avant de descente à Palawan ?
Conserver cet itinéraire en supprimant Banaue en en rajoutant les 3 jous par-ci part-là?
Comme je l’ai dit, nous aimons bien bouger et passer 2 joursà la plage à Boracay est déjà bien bien suffisant pour nous.
Quand est-il du Palu dans ces destinations (bcp de Moustiqueen décembre-janvier ? )
Je ne prendrai pas de traitement préventif (j’en ai pris enTanzanie et j’ai été malade comme un chien pendant le voyage et deux amieselles, ont subit des effets secondaires pendant près d’une année…) : EnTanzanie je n’avais pas le choix, c’était impératif aux Philippines, je préfèretenter d’éviter les pires régions (j’ai vu que Bohol, Boracay c’était ok) et meprotéger au mieux (anti-moustique, manches longues / pantalon et moustiquaire)et avoir de la Malarone en cas de crise soupçonnée pour atténuer les effets.

OK je vais zapper Honda bay et rester 1 nuit de plus à Barton (que faire dans cette région, je n'ai pas encore épelucher le sujet).
Pour les temps de transports, j'y tient compte en règle général.
J'essaie de tennir compte des temps de trajet dans cet itinéraire, peux-tu me dire plus précisément ou celà coince selon toi?.
Nous prendrons l'avion le plus souvent possible et si parfois il faut payer pour un taxi privé, on le fera pour gagner du temps.
qu'entends-tu par temps d'attente?
Alors ou placer Banaue dans mon itinéraire? Et combien de temps? A la fin? après le Pinatubo?
ce serait mon trip, je trouve que tu bouges beaucoup mais tu as dit aimer bouger
mais du coup il y a zéro marge de manoeuvre (une journée d'orage, un avion qui part pas...)
Boracay, je n'y suis pas allé mais si c'est pour faire de la plage, tu trouveras des similaires sur certaines étapes de ton séjour
Banaue, c'est pas mal quand même, ça mérite 2 jours sachant qu'il faut un sacré teps pour la route
Si t'es volcan :
- les plages de zamboanguita au sud de dumaguete sur negros sont fait de magnetite crachée par le volcan en mer et rejetéee à la côte par la marée. mais si tu veux aller à negros, à la limite mais si tu enlèves une étape
- mais je pense que tu peux jeter un coup d'oeil à camiguin aussi avec 7 volcans mais qui nécessitera aussi que tu fasses sauter une étape. Tu pourras l'atteindre via le port de jagna au sud de bohol ou par avion de manille
va falloir faire des choix 🙂
pour la malarone, il n'y a que quelques zones endémiques au sud de palawan voire p'tet zamboanga (qui est une presqu'ile et non zamboanguita qui est un village). Le mieux reste d'avoir des répulsif mais sincèrement, je les trouve moins casse-bonbon aux phils que dans certains coins de france
il te faudra pratiquement la journée, pour faire el nido/port barton, et une bonne 1/2 journée pour port barton/pp. 1 jour à port barton, c'est jouir du calme, aller se balader aux chutes, et ce sera dèjà fini.
je prévoirais 3 jours de treks autour de banaue, A/R tu voyageras de nuit. si tu vas sur sagada prévoie 2 jours de plus.
sinon bien sur, comme cité, camiguin pour 4 jours.
pour le palu, emporte de l'insect écran peau ET vêtements, et si tu as des accointances avec l'inde, fais toi envoyer de l'odomos.
et il te faudras oublier boracay.
vérifie si tu peux rejoindre bohol en restant dans les environs d'oslob, sinon prévoie un retour sur cebu. si tu vas aux requins/baleine à 6h du mat, tu peux etre à cebu vers midi.
si tu repars de clark, tu devrais caser le pinatubo en fin de voyage. et essayer de rester plus de 21 jours.
De retour de voyage autour du monde, il me reste 11 comprimé de Malarone (boîte de 12) qui périment en juin 2017 que je vends 25€ si qqn est intéressé. Je vis à Grenoble.
J'ai luque sur Camiguin il pleuvait beaucoup en décembre janvier (pas la meilleuresaison). J'adore le trekking et la montagne, mais lorsque tu ne vois rien àcause de la pluie, ça ne vaut juste pas la peine. Mais l'île à l'air super, çame titille...
En réalitéje me pose la question si je dois passer du temps à port Barton ou fairedirectement El Nido => PP pour partir sur Cebu city.
PortBarton est-ce nécessaire si j'ai déjà fait Coron et El Nido? N'est-ce pas unpeu les mêmes décors?
Mon butest de voir des endroits différents et pas toujours les mêmes paysages et detirer le meilleure (si possible) de chaque endroit (chocolate Hills sur Boholpar exemple). Habitant la Suisse, je te promet que tu pourrais rester dessemaines voir des mois ici rienque pour faire les Alpes (idem pour les Alpesfrançaise), mais en 3-4 jours (si tu as de la chance avec le temps), tu voistout de même l'essentiel.
En faisant2 voyages de 3-4 semaines par année, et en changeant chaque fois de pays (34 àce jours), je ne peux pas prétendre explorer en profondeur les endroits que jevisite (sauf quand c'est un incontournable). Il y a tellement à voir sur cetteplanète qu'une vie ne suffit pas..
Bref jepense donc qu'il va falloir que j'inclue Banaue au début de mon périple etfaire le Pinatubo à la fin. 3 jours pour Banaue? c'est quoi le mieux en 3 jourslà-bas? (je précise que nous aimons marcher).
PourBoracay, beaucoup d'entre vous sont négatifs pourquoi?
C'est unmythe tout de même cette île.
Le but decette visite serait juste de faire 2-3 jours calmes et profiter de sortir unpeu le soir et d'avoir un peu d'animation.
Sinon monséjour n'est malheureusement pas extensible... :-(

pour camiguin, lemonk pourras te répondre, il y passe quelques mois. j'y suis allé en aout 2012, en 1 semaine une seule 1/2 journée de bruine.
pour le reste : je suis quequ'un d'assez solitaire et les endroits à la mode ne me branchent pas, d'où mon peu d’intérêt pour el nido et boracay, meme si la baie de bacuit est certainement un des plus beaux coins du monde. j'irai certainement un jour. port barton, j'y suis allé pour passer et suis resté 4 jours. cette fois, je compte passer 5 semaines à bantayan au nord de cebu.
pour banaue, en 3 jours tu pourras marcher 2 1/2 jours en t'organisant avec le guide. ou tout seul. ils ont une carte assez bien faite au greenview.
C'est vrai, Décembre et janvier sont les mois les plus pluvieux a Camiguin, Juillet et Aout aussi d'ailleurs...Depuis la dernière semaine d'aout il fait très beau, peu ou pas de pluies!😉

Tu as un programme bien chargé. Tu va revenir rincé !
Les transports aux phils sont beaucoup moins bien organisés que dans le reste de l'Asie. C'est souvent de l'artisanal... Je te conseille de te laisser quelques jours de gap en cochant certaines destinations à faire. Puis, tu verra sur place.
Pinatubo et Banaue, je ne connais pas. Je laisse donc les spécialistes te répondre à ce sujet.
Coron vaut le détour. Peut être rester une journée de plus pour louer une moto et faire le tour de l'ile ? Attention à la liaison coron-El Nido. C'est une liaison régulière qui, régulièrement ne fonctionne pas... Je suis resté bloqué 2 jours là bas car le Jessabel était en panne de moteur il y a quelques années. Il y a aussi les conditions climatiques qui peuvent faire reporter le voyage. Je te conseille de faire la liaison avec un chapeau, de la nourriture et de quoi boire. Nous, on est tombé en panne sur le trajet retour, ce qui fait que l'on a passé prés de 12 heures en mer ! Pas de panique, ce n'est pas dangereux et les philippins s'en sortent toujours. Mais des fois, ça prends du temps...
Port Barton, on m'en a dit beaucoup de bien, mais je n'y ai pas été (avec regrets)
Boracay, c'est la cote d'azur, sauf que la plupart des gens sont asiatiques, ce qui permet d'être tout de même dépaysé. Pour 2/3 jours, c'est pas mal. Attention, 2 aéroports pour y accéder. Toi qui ne veut pas perdre de temps, il faut atterir à Caticlan et non pas Kalibo.
Camiguin, c'est sympa, mais très chronophage dans le sens où il n'y a rien de direct (à moins qu'ils aient réouvert l'aéroport depuis l'année dernière).
Mon avis :
1/ En arrivant à Clark, part de suite à Manille + vol vers Coron (puisque tu atterris à 9h20). Tu aura le temps de visiter les alentours à la fin du trip et du coup, ça te fait gagner 2 jours que tu pourra exploiter à courir ailleurs...
2/ Si tu dois zapper un endroit par rapport à ton prévisionnel, c'est Bohol. A Bohol, j'ai aimé Balicasag. Les chocolates Hills, c'est sympa, mais ça casse pas trois pattes à un canard... Je n'ai pas aimé Alona Beach, qui est un ersatz de Boracay en beaucoup moins bien.
De plus, pour y accéder d'Oslob, tu va perdre une journée. Surtout qu'après, il va falloir en partir et donc perdre encore une journée de plus (trajet tagbilaran-cebu environ 2 heures de ferry)
Dernière chose : Ton voyage se fait en fin d'année. Il y a noel et nouvel an à prendre en considération par rapport aux transports, mais aussi aux hôtels qui risquent d'être complets sur ces dates...

Je viens de regarder on peut aller à Camiguin avec Cebu Pac, ce serait une bonne option ! 😎
J'ai passé beaucoup de temps ces derniers jour à chercher des informations sur différents lieux proposés pour modifier/ajuster mon itinéraire.
Comme l'on dit certains d'entre vous, je dois fair des choix.
Je risque de biffer les destinations suivantes.
Banaue => d'après ce que je vois, décembre/janvier, c'est très brumeux là-bas en général et les rizières ne sont pas très belles à cette période. De plus, même si je ne doute pas que la région est magnifique, 3-4 jours seront nécessaires au minimum avec de long trajet de Bus de nuit qui ne me réjoui que très peu.
Port Barton => je me demande si s'arrêter dans cet endroit en vaut la peine après avoir faire Coron et El Nido.
Camiguin => trop de pluie en moyenne en Décembre / Janvier => risque trop grand de ne pouvoir profiter des paysages et de la randonnée.
J'hésite encore pour le Mayon, le risque de ne pas le voir est grand (si je fait qu'un jour sur place) mais ce volcan est tout de même magnifique. ça me titille, mais y aller me rajouterais 2 trajets aériens dans mon itinéraire (Boracay-Cebu puis Cebu-Legazpi alors que Legazpi - Manille remplacerait Kalibo-Manille).
En refaisant mon programme (voir la pièce jointe), il me reste 4 jours de bon à caser pour détendre le programme ou pour ajouter quelque chose en plus.
J'ai envie (même si la météo n'est jamais sûr) de mettre un maximum de chance de mon côté pour avoir du beau temps (en évitant les zones trop humides en décembre/janvier).
J'ai mis dans mon programme le temps de trajet brut (ne tient pas compte de l'attente entre 2 ferry par exemple).
Alors que me proposez-vous?
Pour Cebu Pacific, comment fait-on pour ajouter des bagages à la réservation (j'ai vu un poste la dessus qui disait que c'était pas possible de le faire en ligne, est-ce que les choses ont changées)?

Avec Cebu Pacific, quand t'achète ton billet en ligne, il y aura une case avec 3 possibilités de bagage:15,20 ou 30 avec le prix, c'est a toi de cocher a ta con-
venance, et ca s'ajoute au prix du billet...ainsi que l'assurance d'ailleurs(je zappe)!
Jamais eu de problèmes pour acheter, de France ou ici! Attention, a Paques, Noel,

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

I’m struggling to wrap up the end of my itinerary, even though it’s pretty straightforward (long but simple).
Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

If you’ve had the experience—and since I’ve read (though it’s not very clear) that these two islands get quite crowded during this period—would you recommend booking accommodation well in advance, or is it easy to find something on the spot?

We’re heading to Vietnam as a family on July 8th for a little over 3 weeks (north and center). We’ve only booked the first 3 nights in Hanoi, and nothing else after that. We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. What do the experts here think? And which website can we use to book the tickets? Thanks in advance for your tips!

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

For our Bangkok-Sukhothai trips, I use a company I’ve already tried, but they don’t have a fleet available from Sukhothai and have to go through third-party companies—which, understandably, take their commission. This nearly doubles the prices...

My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.

August 8: Early departure with a private driver to Ampana, then ferry to the Togian Islands
August 9–15: Togian Islands (2 different resorts)

August 16: Flight Luwuk to Makassar
August 17: Rammang Rammang
August 18: Stroll in Makassar, then return home

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

Family of 4—2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 15) who are well-traveled.
We’re planning a 15-day trip to Indonesia and would love your thoughts on our itinerary.
We love discovering local culture, food (!!), seeing beautiful landscapes, and keeping an active pace. We’re not the type to lounge on the beach for 5 hours or spend ages by the pool when we’re halfway across the world. Also, we try to avoid places "ruined" by mass tourism (like Holbox in Mexico, which we loved 10 years ago but not at all on our last visit, or Phi Phi in Thailand, completely destroyed by mass tourism).
Special note: we love traveling by train :)
