Bonjour à tous pour notre lune de miel nous aimerions partir pour 2 mois en Asie et faire un trek au départ de phuket juska lombok
pour cela jai besoin de votre aide afin de finaliser ou rectifier mon itineraire; malgré toutes les discussions que jai pu lire jai du mal a me décider
de france nous arriverons a Phuket pour 4 nuits afin de se poser un peu et profiter du soleil ;) ensuite nous prendrons un vol pour KL et nous resterons 2 jours (les vols de phuket juska medan sont trop cher) juskici tout va bien ensuite nous prendrons un vol pour Medan et cela se complique mais au final voila ce que jai decidé de faire:
Medan Bukit Lawang 2 nuits
retour Medan aéroport et vol pour Padang (cest court je sais mais nous préférons faire le lac Maninjau au lieu de toba et pour Brastagi la route trop longue pour faire lascension sibayak qui ne vaut pas forcement le détour apparemment et nous aurons l'occasion den voire dautres)
de padang route vers ricky beach 3 nuits
taxi juskau lac maninjau 2 nuits guest house Murao Beach
taxi juska la vallée d'harrau 1 nuit Abdi Homestay
taxi juska Bukittinggi 2 nuits Orchid Hôtel et retour aéroport padang pour aller a Bali
est ce que cet itinéraire vous semble logique? vous auriez une idée de prix pour les transports?
de Bali nous irons 5 nuits a Ubud au natura resort
2 nuits à Munduk à L’Atres villa l
2 nuits à Sidemen logement?
et route vers les illes gillis pour 5 nuits logement conseillé pour un bungalow pied dans leau ?
et pour pres de 10 jours a kuta lombok et finir notre lune de miel dans un endroit paradisiaque a lombok senggigi précisément qui est apparemment le + bel endroit de lombok et de là nous sillonnerons lile en scooter kk1 pourrait nous donner une idée de logement en bord de mer avec piscine dans un hôtel/bungalow de rêve? pas plus de 70e la nuit
qu'en pensez vous? le but de notre voyage et de rallier détente découverte plongée randonnée et tout cela avec un minimum de confort cest pourquoi nous voulons pas perdre 1 journée entière dans les transports pour faire 90km et risquer davoir un accident
nous économisons depuis des mois pour se voyage et ca sera le dernier avant lgtps nous voulons donc en profiter a fond !;)
nous avons environ 5OOO€ tout compris vol logement excursion transport interne est ce faisable????

qqs remarques en vrac :
- Bali : bon tiuming pour les séjours a Ubud, Munduk et ds l'est (Sidemen ou autre)
- Lombok : on a trouvé Senggigi un peu décevant (1 plage quelconque, l'autre sale) malgré le site très beau. Si tu veux un hotel haut de gamme de rêve, il y en a plusieurs sur les magnifiques criques désertes (sauf qd il ya un hotel mais elles sont tellement grandes que ça va) de Mangsit au nord de Senggigi (je n'ai pas de nom en tête mais pour 70€ vous trouverez ss pb).
Attention si vous voulez sortir le soir, pas gd chose ds le coin a part regarder le superbe coucher de soleil sur le Mt Agung a Bali.
Bonne idée de sillonner la région au nord de Senggigi en scooter car peu de circulation, contrairement a Mataram et je ne connais pas le sud.
- pas d'avis sur Sumatra que je ne connais pas
- enfin moi je ne m'arrêterais pas a Phuket mais ça n'engage que moi !

pour bali je vais donc garder cet itinéraire et peut être le pofiner une fois sur place nous allons prendre un guide pour faire les tarjets et par la même occasion s'arrêter pour des visites entre chaque ville

pour Lombok je pense pas que nous allons finalement loger à Senggigi d'après ce que vous dites plus ce que j'ai pu lire

par contre j'aimerai bien éléminer KL de notre itineraire sauf que les departs de Phuket à Medan sont trop elevés
Effectivement on trouve toutes sortes d'avis sur les Gilis .. en voila donc un de + !
Je pense que tout est question de comparaison par rapport a ce que chacun connait déjà :
- on est allé a Gili Trawagan et on a bp aimé : si je compare les Gilis aux plages désertes de sables blanc de Flores et aux fonds marins de Komodo qu'on a connu après, les Gili sont nettement moins bien, mais si vous ne connaissez pas ce sera très chouette (tjs comparaison).
- sept 2011 c'était la saison creuse, pas gd monde, on a trouvé ss pb un joli bungalow sur la cote nord, ce qui permet de voir le lever de soleil sur le volcan Rinjani a Lombok et le coucher sur le Mt Agung a Bali. C'est aussi un endroit très calme, a 10 min de marche des restos.
- il parait que c'est une ile bruyante pour fêtards, mais ça doit être a d'autres saisons, car le seul bruit qu'on a entendu est celui du muezzin !!! : je ne sais pas qd est votre voyage, privilégiez Air et Meno pour le calme si vous êtes en saison touristique ou aller au nord de Trawagan
- suite des comparaisons : rien a voir avec Phuket, les Gilis sont + routard, il y a juste des bungalow (confortables qd même) et qqs petits hotels + chic sans étage, voir sans piscine. En + pas de route ni voiture
- je ne connais pas le sud de Lombok, mais ça commence a construire dur, depuis que l'aéroport est ds le coin, mais il doit bien y avoir des endroits encore sauvage (a chercher ds ce forum)
- si vous faites le trajet Gili-Kuta Lombok, ça peut valoir le coup de prendre son temps entre Bangsal et Senggigi sur les superbes criques (en scooter) Prendre le bateau "lent" pour les locaux de 8h aux Gilis pour Bangsal (ne coute rien, c'est folklo et 20 min de traversée) plutot que le rapide a touristes assez cher qui va a Senggigi, puis louer un scooter a Senggigi pour aller vers ces superbes baies aux plages de sables blanc
- passer par KL ou pas, tjs le pb des correspondances en voyage avec la perte de temps ! ceci dit KL n'est pas désagréable (ce n'est pas Jakarta très pénible) même si on peut s'en passer. Si vous devez y passer 1 jour, il y a des choses a voir
- qd a Bali, tout le nord d'Ubud est magnifique et les distances pas très grandes , vous pourrez modifier votre itinéraire sur place en fc des envies

ce qui m'inquiète le plus c'est le problème de logement pour Bali nous avons deja trouvé les logements pour les gillis je pense que nous verrons une fois sur place car je veux avoir un logement pied dans l'eau avec un bon lit confortable et sans grosse araignée autour! ca gacherait mon voyage pour lombok notre dernier periple je pense que ca sera le Novotel en esperant kon aura assez d'argent et kon aura pas tout dépensé avant 😛 jaurai preféré un bungalow de luxe k1 chbre d'hotel mais je ne trouve rien sur les forumspeut être k1 fois sur place je trouverais mon bonheur

si je comprends bien: apres Munduk, vous allez a Pemuteran.
Ensuite bateau pour Nusa Lembongan.et retour vers Pemuteran.
Pemuteran est au Nord ouest et Nusa Lembongan au sud est de Bali, entre les 2, il y a environ 170 kms de route a faire. Pratiquement les extremites de l'ile de Bali. Par la montagne, c'est environ 4 heures et plus en fonction de la circulation a Kuta et alentours.
Et ensuite retour a Ubud.
Vous allez beaucoup d'aller retour. Beaucoup de route a faire.
Pemuteran est interessante avec l'ile de Menjengan (pour la plongee et snorkeling).
Nusa Lembongan, je ne connais pas.
Visitez Sulawesi (Celebes), Bira beach, Kendari et Toraja!

du coup que pensez vous du trajet?
Sur l'ile de Menjengan, je pense que l'on ne peut pas y loger, mais dans le parc, il y a le Menjengan Resort, qui permet differentes activites comme faire du cheval ou decouvrir le parc avec un guide. Quelques petites plages de sable blanc, mais aussi des plages de sable noir. Pas loin, vous pouvez aller voir le Kawah Ijen, un volcan sur Java. En prenant le ferry a Gilimanuk, on peut y acceder facilement. Interessant et pas difficile du tout, je suis monte en sandales.
Pas encore beaucoup de touristes dans le nord ouest, on ne se sent pas agresser comme dans le sud et on peut rencontrer des balinais authentiques.

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. Hi everyone,
My girlfriend and I booked our tickets with Saudia Airlines for a trip to Thailand this summer, from July 5th to August 3rd. Given the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we’re keeping a close eye on the news.
I was wondering if anyone here is in the same situation as us?
• Have you heard anything about possible mass cancellations or if the airline is still maintaining its routes to Asia?
• Are there any travelers who’ve recently returned who could tell us if air corridors have been changed (longer flight times)?
The idea is to know what to expect so we can prepare as best as possible. Thanks for your replies! !
