après avoir dû reporter mon projet d'aller au JAPON pour imprévus. ça y est c'est décidé nous partirons à KYOTO les 2 premières semaines de AVRIL 2011.
Nous atterirons à OSAKA et dans la foulée irons loger directement à KYOTO où nous séjournerons les deux premières semaines d'avril 2011.
Comment nous rendre d'OSAKA à KYOTO ? et faut il prendre un pass.
Puis pour circuler dans KYOTO, NARA, etc.. est il valable de prendre un pass si oui lequel pour 2 semaines ?
Et faut il le prendre à l'avance ?
J'avoue que les transports au JAPON me stressent un peu à l'avance. 😕
Pouvez vous me donner des tuyaux, où prendre les pass s'il y a besoin comment circuler dans KYOTO et même avec un pass éventuel style peut-être KANSAI PASS, dois-je payer un supplément dans la région pour prendre un transport qui ne serait pas compris dans le pass ? 😊

ben en fait, mon programme c'est très simple car nous aurons l'occasion de retourner au JAPON donc on veut faire par petits bouts à chaque fois.
Et là on aimerait se concentrer sur KYOTO principalement pour deux semaines (les 2 premières d'avril pour j'espère voir les cerisiers en fleurs).
Donc arrivée à l'aéroport d'OSAKA là direction KYOTO (par quel transport ? train mais lequel et quel prix ou quel pass).
Nous resterons à l'hôtel du côté du palais Impérial à KYOTO.
Nous comptons voir le quartier de GION, l'allée de PONTOCHO, le marché couvert de NISHIHI, le Pavillon d'Or, le Jardin des Rochers, le HIGASHI HONGAN-JI, le pavillon d'argent, la villa impériale de KATSURA, le temple de FUSHI INARI,
Puis une journée ou deux aller à OSAKA et une journée à NARA.😎
En fait, on voudrait vraiment découvrir KYOTO tranquillement en sentant l'atmosphère du coin et ne pas courir puisqu'on pourra revenir au JAPON pour visiter TOKYO, NIKHO HAKONE etc..
Alors quand pensez-vous ? et que devons nous prévoir comme moyens de transports ??. Faut il un pass ?🤪
Et pour le bus est-ce facile dans KYOTO déjà c'est une bonne nouvelle de savoir qu'il y a un pass illimité à la journée.

Ah et pensez-vous que début avril c'est bien pour les cerisiers en fleurs ? En tout cas il ne semble malheureusement pas y avoir de MATSURI à cette époque. Dommage
c'est une bonne decision de ne visiter que cette region et de decouper vos voyages pour profiter au maximum de chaque region. c'est ce que je fais egalement pour ne pas avoir de regret.
vu que vous restez sur kyoto et proche le jrpass n'est pas tres utile. les 90% de vos visites se feront en bus
pour vos deplacements en train osakak-kyoto ainsi que fuhimi inari et nara vous pouvez utiliser ces 2 sites:
mais Jorudan est plus simple a utiliser. regardez tous les resultats car il y a souvent divers tarifs donc autant prendre le moins cher s'il y a peu de difference sur le temps de trajet 😏

Il semble à moins que je n'ai pas vu que sur le tableau des bus que tu m'as envoyé, ce soient des départs depuis OSAKA ITAMI, mais je n'ai pas vu depuis OSAKA KIX. En tout cas si c'est 1280 yens par adulte cela ne semble pas trop cher, si je ne me trompe pas, car avec les trains il semble y avoir des changements et à chaque fois un coût supplémentaire. Donc au final peut-être pas plus de 1280 yens.😊

pour le train en effet il faut faire plusieurs changement car il y a plusieurs compagnies differentes.
le bus est tres pratique car aucun changement puis tu vois du paysage. j'ai utilisé ce type de bus mais a tokyo pour aller de l'aeroport au centre ville et c'était impeccable.
pour le ticket de bus tu l'achete dans les comptoirs de l'aeroport en sortant de la douane et de l'imigration. tout est indiqué ne t'en fais pas. sur le ticket tu aura l'horaire indiqué et ta place réservé, les bagages seront mis en soute et étiqueté par le personnel de la compagnie.
sinon pour KIX il faut bien regarder dans le lien il faut juste cliquer sur la page d'accueil pour choisir le depart et l'arrivée

oui a l'aeroport juste quand tu passe la douane tu as carrément des grands comptoirs comme celles des compagnies aeriennes et ne t'inquietet pas dans les aeroports ils sont bilingues donc c'est traduit et le personnel parle anglais.
si moi j'ai pu m'en sortir sans probleme alors que je parles tres mal anglais, toi tu t'en sortira encore mieux :p
au pire pour te rassurer fais comme moi, tu imprimes la feuille de trajet pour la montrer et etre sure.

pour l'arrivée tu descends à Kyoto Station. c'est la gare centrale de kyoto. ensuite tu as differents bus pour aller vers le palais imperial. il y a un accueil point info touristes dans la gare où ils t'aideront et te donneront tous les plans nécessaires.
pour l'hotel a osaka je ne sais pas car je dors toujours a kyoto, c'est bien plus simple pour les visites. j'ai dormi une fois ici c'était correct http://www.chuogroup.jp/en/
par contre imprime toujours les plans pour aller à ton hotel car au japon il n'y a pas comme en france des noms de rues, ou juste dans les grands boulevards.
j'ai travaillé mon futur voyage du moins pour les transports déjà qui me faisaient un peu peur.
Donc j'ai bien vu sur les liens que tu m'as communiqués, depuis KANSAI AIRPORT à KYOTO Station il y a plusieurs horaires de bus direct. C'est génial, il n'y aura donc pas de stress (lol).
J'ai vu que le prix du billet Aller pour KYOTO est de 2.500 yens par personne. Mais si je prends un round trip (j'ai compris A/R), c'est 4.000 yens. Donc plus intéressant.
Est ce possible de prendre un ticket A/R à 4.000 yens quand on arrive le 1er jour et utiliser le retour avec notre ticket l'avant dernier jour de notre séjour au JAPON ?
Sinon j'ai vu en arrivant à KYOTO STATION (gare) que nous pouvons prendre le métro aussi pour la station Marutamashi près du PALAIS IMPERIAL. C'est du direct.
Mon autre question du jour, sais-tu s'il existe aussi des pass avec le métro qui inclueraient des visites dans KYOTO et alentours ?
A moins que cela existe mais avec le pass des bus à 500 yens la journée ?

Je suis donc preneur d'infos et conseils (généraux et prospectifs à ce stade) sur le parcours train en Asie centrale et Chine, pour rejoindre la côte est.
Je suis particulièrement intéressé par des infos sur :
- le délai d'anticipation / difficultés éventuelles pour réserver les billets
- s'il existe des systèmes de PASS (ou équivalent) entre pays et/ou si certains billets permettent de faire des escales, autrement dit de monter et descendre à sa guise
- trains de jour / de nuit (cette 2° option permettant de découvrir des villes entre 2 trajets) ?
- un ordre de grandeur du coût des billets

a) Is it possible to buy train tickets for these segments from Canada?
b) If so, which website should I use to do this?
c) And if it is possible, will we be able to print our tickets from Canada?

Hi everyone, I wanted to take the Paris-Berlin overnight train with a sleeper berth, the new service operated by European Sleepers.
24/05/2026 17:45 Paris-Nord (actually 16:00 from Paris Bercy Seine) -> 25/05/2026 9:59 (actually 7:30 in Berlin)
05/06/2026 18:31 Berlin (actually 20:00) -> 06/06/2026 10:00 Paris Nord (actually 12:30)
Part of the journey was operated by bus instead of the promised overnight train.
For 2 people: 340 € round trip
A total disaster. Never again. I was really looking forward to taking the overnight train, but we faced last-minute changes and truly unpleasant travel conditions. Here are the details:
1) 2 days before departure: email announcing a change of departure station for the outbound trip—Bercy Seine bus station instead of Gare du Nord.
2) Change of schedule: 4:00 PM from Bercy instead of 5:45 PM from Gare du Nord.
3) Change of transport mode!! A bus from Paris to Brussels, then an overnight train from Brussels to Berlin. No functional toilets on the bus. No children under 4 allowed on the bus.
4) On the sleeper train at 9:30 PM: no functional toilets in our carriage, so we had to go to other carriages, even in the middle of the night, to find working ones.
5) The onboard staff, though very friendly, were as lost as we were. In particular, they didn’t know how to handle the lower berths, so people using them had less space (armrests and backrests). Berth numbers weren’t respected, so some passengers had to move. The staff also didn’t know who was supposed to join the compartment during the journey.
6) Arrival at 7:30 AM in Berlin instead of 10:00 AM. No arrival announcement. Passengers had to search for staff to get breakfast and ended up with just a coffee (breakfast = 15 €, not bad for just a coffee).
7) Return trip: drastic schedule change announced by email on 26/05/2026—departure at 7:30 PM instead of 6:30 PM, with arrival between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM in Paris instead of 10:00 AM. No change in transport mode announced.
8) Change in transport mode announced by email on the same day (05/06/2026)!! Overnight train from Brussels to Berlin, then a bus from Paris to Brussels. No functional toilets on the bus. Children under 4 banned from the bus, and families in this situation were asked to find another way—after being notified the same day.
9) The overnight train arrived at Berlin station with a 30-minute delay on top of its initial delay (scheduled for 6:31 PM, then 7:30 PM, finally arriving at 8:00 PM). The heating was blasting in the compartment with no way to turn it off. No functional toilets in the carriage. From that point on, customer service stopped responding to my messages.
10) Woken up at 5:00 AM with an announcement in all carriages about arrival in Liège.
11) Woken up again at 6:00 AM to be told we’d arrive in Brussels at 7:00 AM.
12) Arrival in Brussels at 7:00 AM and a one-hour wait for the bus to Paris. No functional toilets on the bus.
13) Arrival at Paris Nord at 12:30 PM, so 2.5 hours late compared to the originally scheduled time.
14) The overnight trains used are very old—I recognized the carriages from 20 years ago!! No functional power outlets, no Wi-Fi, no air conditioning. Five people per compartment is a bit cramped, but I consider these conditions expected (especially the air conditioning), so I’m not complaining about that. There’s already plenty to gripe about with the travel conditions.
I have little hope of getting even a partial refund. Customer service emails acknowledge the discomfort but only offer to reimburse the cost of a coffee on board if we send them the receipt... a bit weak.
I’m sharing this experience in the hope it might help others.

Tomorrow afternoon, I arrive at Lyon Part-Dieu on the TGV at 5:50 PM and take the TER to Mâcon at 6:16 PM. Is a 26-minute transfer doable? Are the TGV and TER on the same departure board? And are they on the same platforms too?

I just realized there’s only one payment method accepted for booking the Mombasa-Nairobi express train ticket online: M-Pesa, a mobile money transfer service used in Africa. Would it be impossible to book as a European?
I’d love to know if any of you have recently eaten on the overnight train from Bangkok to Chiang Mai.
We’ve always ordered food on the train, and it was really good (and super convenient).
But in 2022, we ended up feeling like total idiots (with our 4-year-old daughter...) when we boarded the train only to find out that this service was no longer available... (It was the first time we’d traveled right after COVID.)
That’s also when we saw once again how kind Thai people are—they all offered to share their food with us, even though we were mortified. In the end, we managed to buy some instant noodles, which was better than nothing. Anyway, that’s the little story behind it.
In the following years, we’ve always brought our own meals.
I’ve read online that meal trays are back in service (could you confirm this, please?), but that the quality is really poor. I’ve also seen multiple reports that, even though you can eat well everywhere in Thailand, the train meal was the worst food travelers had during their trip...
Could you give me a recent opinion on this?
