voila les vacances au maroc sont bientot fini , je me prépare donc pour rentrer mercredi prochain .
mon vol est prévu pour 10h30 alors pour etre sur de ne pas rater mon avion j'ai reserver une petite chambre a hotel atlas a marrakech .
je ne connais pas du tout marrakech , j'ai peur de galerer avec mon petit bonhome et les bagages, pour cela j'aurai besoin de quelques renseignements.
_j'arrive a marrakech par bus ctm , vers 17h, quel moyen de transport pour me rendre a l'hotel?les petits taxi peuvent ils m'amener jusqu'a devant l'hotel?sachant qu'il est situé en plein centre?quel prix prevoir ?
_connaissez vous cet hotel?est il un endroit sur?vu le prix bas j'ai peur que ça ne soit pas tres calme?ou alors dur a trouver.
_le ledemain je dois etre a l'aeroport a 8h, pareil je me demande comment je pourrais m'y rendre?combien cela me coutera il?et surtout j'ai peur d'avoir du mal a trouver un moyen de transport pres de l'hotel , j'ai peur de me perdre , comme je disais avec un enfant de 3 ans et des bagages ;ça ne va pas etre simple.
L'hotel Atlas est un de mes préférés, propre et accueillant, souvent calme, mais on est pas à l'abri de clients sans gène.
De la gare CTM, il y a pour 12/14 dh de taxi, on se fait déposer devant l'hotel Tazi (ils connaissent tous), prender la rue piétonne (av des princes) , le plus simple (ca rallonge de moins de 100m) est de remonter jusqu'à la place, et de faire 2 fois à droite autour du marchand de journaux, et rentrer dans la rue Sidi Boulakat, par un porche, c'est tout droit et l'hotel est à moins de 100m à gauche.
Pour aller à l'aéroport, rien de plus simple, le bus est à 200m , au terminus des bus , face à la koutoubia, il y en a un toutes les 1/2 h , à 20 et à 50, qui met 20 mn pour aller à l'aéroport pour 20 dh. (dans ton cas le 7h20 est approprié)
Je confirme ce que dit Raoulx, hôtel à recommander, propre, calme et accueil vraiment sympathique.
Oui, de la gare CTM à l’hôtel, 12/14dh
…..Mais la gare CTM est devenue comme l’aéroport, ils vous demandent d’office 30 à 40dh et refusent de mettre le compteur, surtout ne pas céder.
Et pour repartir, si tu ne veux pas prendre le bus, remonte directement sur la place qui est vraiment à proximité et à cette heure là, il y a plein de taxis qui tournent, impose 50dh pour l’aéroport.
Et en janvier, à cette même heure, le taxi m’a même attendu le temps que je prenne mon petit déjeuné au Toubkal

Taxi a 50 DH pour l'aéroport !!, c'est ce qui doit etre logique .mais la realité est autre chose... si tu demande le prix, c'est pas moins que 70 Dh, si ce n'est pas plus, ils sont trop gourmand ces chauffeurs a Marrakech , sutrout en destination de Marrakech vers l'aéroport .
Il y a 2 semaines, j'ai pris le bus vers L'aéroport , on était que 4 personnes, cela a fait un peu prés 25 minutes a 30, a partir de la gare du train,
Donc, je rejoint l'avis de Raoulx, il y a un bus chaque 30 minutes, pour éviter tout risque de rater le bus, il vaut mieux se poser a partir de 6 h 50 devant la station du bus, qui fait le départ a 7 h 00. le billet est a 20 Dh , 40 Dh a 2 .
Remarque : Avec les taxis a Marrakech, il faut être vigilant, chaque fois vous montez, vous exigez qu'on active le compteur, sinon, ils risquent de vous demander une tarif imaginaire .

Il faut arrèter de hurler à l'arnaque des taxi.
Il faut surtout arrèter de la provoquer :
en demandant le prix de la course,
en marchandant ,
les taxis s'amusent de ce jeu et en profitent .
laissez mettre le compteur , c'est tout.
ou acceptez un forfait que vous trouvez honnète,
très tot le matin il y a plein de petits taxis qui rodent et demandent 50 dh pour l'aéroport.
NB, à Marrakech, il est plus sérieux de se présenter 2 h avant le vol , les formalités peuvent etre longues.

A mes connaissances, et selon mes experiences dans les vols via des aéroports, et pour éviter tout imprévu, il faut se présenter 2 heures a l'avance .
Pour les bus, je pense pas il a y un bus a 6h du matin, et si tu désires prendre un taxi a 5 h du matin, il faut prévoir au minimum 150 Dh, les chauffeurs de taxis dans une ville très touristique comme Marrakech, n'ont pas besoin de provocation comme a dit Raoulx, il ont la tête fière, préfèrent partir a vide au lieu de prendre un client avec un prix qui ne les satisfait pas, et il faut pas trop rêver pour avoir un taxis qui peut mettre le compteur pour te prendre a l'aéroport .
Une chose est sur, il faut bien prévoir 2 heures avant le décalage de l'avion et même a tout prix .
Si , moi , je maintiens ces chiffres , c'est aussi parceque je les ai pratiqué récemment !!!!!!! non seulement pour mes voyages, mais pour aller chercher des VFistes et autres amis, à l'aéroport.
et je me répète encore :
DAns le sens Aéroport Ville, il est difficile de trouver un taxi à moins de 100 dh, voire 150 pour l'autre face des remparts , ils ont l'impression que tout ce qui descend de l'avion, a un excès d'euros.
Mais en A M, il y a le bus à 20 dh toutes les 1/2 h.
Dans le sens ville Aéroport, le matin très tot, dès que l'on sort d'un hotel avec une valise, on est accosté par tous les chauffeurs de taxi , qui proposent un aller aéroport pour 50 dh, ils passent meme devant l'arrèt du bus, et dès qu'ils voient un touriste, s'arrètent pour dire que le bus est en panne , ou en grève, et font la même proposition.
Merci à tous pour ces profusion de conseils. Nous devons récupérer une voiture de loc pour repartir le lendemain matin, est il préférable de la récupérer à l'Aéroport, mais la conduite dans Marrakech et la possibilité de se garer est il aisé ?

Que ce soit à l'hôtel, à la gare, à l'aéroport ou sur un axe de sortie de la ville, c'est la même chose : le livreur repart par ses propres moyens, souvent le bus.
Il ne s'agit pas de le laisser en pleine campagne, mais en ville, à un endroit où il lui est facile de trouver un transport en commun pour rentrer !

Une réponse avec beaucoup d'idéalisme et du charme, je préfère rester pragmatique et garder les pieds sur terre, car, conduire dans une ville sur-peuplés, trés touristique, avec le nombre de motos, des voiture, des taxis, mais surtout, surtout l'anarchie et le non respect du code de la route. une ville ou on conduit par , mais plutôt on s'évite, cela risque d'être une mission trés difficile pour un touriste qui aura la moitié de ses intentions et de sa concentration prise ailleurs a la recherche des destinations, et des panneaux ... et cela est synonyme de stresse .

Il y a un bus qui passe à quelques centaines de mètres, c'est le bus d'Amizmiz que l'on prend à la station de Sidi Mimoun. qu'il faut déja rejoindre avec un taxi!

First of all: a big thank you to everyone whose insightful, funny, lively, and exotic posts we’ve enjoyed. It’s a joy to find such lovely writers on this forum, who’ve given me tons of ideas and addresses to prepare our trip.
Our plan: to explore Morocco from November 2nd to December 4th. We’ll have our own vehicle (a 2011 Renault Grand Scenic, in great condition), shipped with us from Sète to Tanger Med. Returning from Nador.
Our profile: 75 and 62 years young, so old but happy to be, in very good health. Seasoned travelers—it’s practically our whole life. Lovers of beautiful landscapes, historic sites, fine craftsmanship, and road trips. This will be my 3rd trip to Morocco, but the first two were 20 and 17 years ago. I’ve never been north of the Essaouira-Marrakech line (though I’ve gone further south). As for my husband, a lifelong expat including in Muslim countries, it’s his first time in Morocco.
He’s the one driving. He’s very experienced, cautious, not necessarily fast, but used to driving in all conditions (and countries, including the most creative on the road). But I don’t want to tire him out, and he no longer drives at night (and we’ll be there in November).
I’ve decided to show him a bit of everything by taking a road trip along beautiful backroads, with daily distances averaging 180-200 km (except on highways, which will be rare), regularly broken up by rest days. I’m counting on a speed of 40-50 km/h, plus stops/visits along the way.
Since I’ve read so many posts, I’ve narrowed it down to some very specific questions.
1) Coming directly from Rabat via the highway, we’d prefer to skip Marrakech*. Still, we’ll need to sleep somewhere nearby. We’ll head toward Skoura the next day. Does anyone have a well-located address for this route, possibly east of Marrakech? Ideally, we’re looking for a small town, easy parking, clean accommodation (minimum) with average comfort (or better if available), a bit heated, and if possible, pretty and/or nice—but above all, a place to sleep well, wash with lukewarm (ideally hot) water, and have a decent dinner.
(*Explanation for the "no-go" in Marrakech: it’s a shame, because there are truly beautiful things in this city, but I think the vibe won’t suit us—it’s an understatement for "it’ll put us off" / "make us flee" / "traumatize us." Not because it’s too crowded and we want to stand out from tourists (we’re part of them), but because of forced henna on your hand, or spending 10 minutes every quarter-hour saying "no thank you" to a "guide" who’s as much a guide as I am a trapeze artist. Knowing us, it’ll wear us down. The country is vast and beautiful, and our time too short to waste our memories just days after arriving. And I don’t want to ruin things for my peaceful husband, or he’ll demand we turn back—and Sète in November isn’t exactly thrilling either.)
2) Which route to Skoura (in 2 days)? I see two options: either via the Tichka Pass, with a night in Telouet before reaching Skoura, or via the R307/N23 from Demnate, with a night near Megdaz before descending to Skoura. So: Tichka Pass or R307/N23? I have a slight (big) preference for the second option, even though I know the other route is very beautiful too. Of course, before deciding, we’ll check the weather and the current state of the R307/N23—does anyone know where to get info on the road conditions? But even assuming the road is "passable," is it a bit too tough in itself? In short, is it reasonable? If a kind soul could share their experience, a thousand thanks in advance.

Il semble que ce soit la saison basse donc mon souhait serait de faire un voyage itinérant sans avoir besoin de réserver les hébergements à l'avance. Dans d'autres pays, les réservations nous ont contraint et empêché de visiter des sites non prévus à notre programme. Notre liberté nous est chère, mais je voudrais aussi éviter d arriver sur place et de ne rien trouver.
Que me conseillez vous? Réserver ou pas?

Is there a way to buy tickets in Spain? Or another way to get the Algeciras–Tangier crossing cheaper? Thanks for any tips or info!
We found a guide who offers the trip from M'hamid to a camp (departure at 3 PM, tea, meal, camel ride, overnight stay, breakfast, and return to M'Hamid by 11 AM the next day via the sacred oasis). He quoted us a price of 380 € for April.
What do you think of this rate?

I’ve read through the various discussions about the country, but I’m still a bit unsure🤪: for currency exchange, I saw on the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that withdrawing currency with a bank card from ATMs is limited to 200 TND per week. There are four of us traveling by car, so that might be a bit tight! And it’s a hassle to carry a lot of cash, even if I’m not being paranoid! What do you all recommend?

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...
Anyone here who can share their experience of returning? I specified “recently” because it seems that right now, diplomatic relations between the two governments are extremely tense, not to say hostile... even if Macron claims otherwise...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’m leaving for Tunisia in five weeks for a full 15-day trip. I’ll be arriving in Monastir and departing from there as well.
I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

A few questions:
1) Does this crossing still exist? If so, do I need to buy the ticket in advance or on the spot? From whom? Any advice is welcome!
