Je vais simplement réserver quelques jours dans un hostel de Dublin pour être tranquille à mon arrivée et ensuite me diriger vers Galway ou Cork (comme beaucoup)...de toute façon sans job il est difficile de louer quelque chose je pense. salut, je vais bientot partir a gallway avec un pote, pour l'instant on compte partir sans rien et arriver là-bas en espérant y trouver du boulot. ton travaille de cuistot m'interresse beaucoup, j'ai déjà travailler en angleterre en tant que serveur l'été dernier, donc ben si tu pouvait en parler a tes supérieures ou me donner un contact je te serai trés reconnaissant. merci d'avance!!!

salut audrey, quand comptes tu partir?? par quel moyen, et pour combien de temps??, moi sa ne me pose pas de problème que tu viennes avec nous, il faut juste fixer les règles dès le départ! moi et mon pote, on ne veut plus parler anglais de tout l'été (ou presque). on va certainement enmener la voiture avec nous par le ferry. on part fin mai, donc voilà, tu es réticente à partir toute seule? franchement si c'était ton objectif de départ, tu devrai le faire, aprés tu sais, on peut toujours garder contact et se retrouver là-bas! enfin moi c pareil! c'est toi ki voi! 😛

bon désolé je ne vais pas vous apporter de réponses à vos questions, je vais plutôt alimenter les intérrogations.
J'ai essayé (pendant 2-3 mois) tant bien que mal de trouver un stage de fin d'études en Irlande, sans résultat. Je fais donc mon stage en France puis j'ai décidé de partir vivre, travailler, et faire la fête en Irlande (Cork ou Dublin) c'est-à-dire au mois d'octobre de cette année. Je devrais à priori rejoindre des amis qui partiront eux au mois de septembre.
D'un côté on dit qu'on trouve du boulot assez rapidement et facilement (cf capital) de l'autre on entend, on lit que ce mythe n'est plus ce qu'il était ! Mais qu'en est-il vraiment alors ?! Perso, je termine un master 2 d'informatique professionnelle, je me pose la question "trouverais-je un poste qui vaut le coup (enjeu, responsabilité, salaire...) et rapidement ?
Pour le logement, bien qu'ayant des amis la-bas, j'opte plutôt sur la collocation avec des irlandais parce que amélioration de la langue oblige.

c'est vrai qu'on entend un peu tous les sons de cloches sur l'irlande et le boulot. le Celtic Tiger, l'eldorado du chercheur d'emploi.... bla bla bla. mais comme tu as peut etre remarque, le temoignage des gens qui ont tente l'experience est bien moins rose que ce que l'on peut voire dans les medias en france. Perso, c'a fait un an que je suis a Dublin, et mon image sur le Celtic Tiger a aussi bien changer. Je ne veut pas jouer le rabas-joie, parce qu'il y a bien sur beaucoup d'oportunites ici....MAIS... c'est peu etre pas aussi facile que ca. Je, dirai, et ce la n'engage que moi, qu'on a tres peu chance de trouver un boulot dans son domaine, si on n'a pas un tres bon niveau d'anglais (je pars sur l'apriori que les calls center n'est le domaine de personne...), et si on ne compte pas rester au moins un an (apres on peut toujours mentir) Il y a beaucoup de jobs dans informatique en irlande, donc pour toi c'est peut etre un peu different... Autre point, dublin est rempli de francais (forcement avec tout ce qu'on dit a la tele). donc la concurrence est rude. Et la tentation de trainer avec des francais est grande (c'est pas le top pour amelioerer l'anglais) En regardant les news d'ici, tu t'apercoit que de plus en plus d'entreprisent quittent l'irlande, pour des pays ou la main d'oeuvre est moins chere. Venir a Dublin reste quand pour moi une bonne experience, et meme si professionnelement, j'ai pas exerce des jobs de reve, j'ai maintenant un bon niveau d'anglais, j'y ai rencontre ma copine, et j'ai mis assez d'argent de cote pour voyager pendant 8 mois !!! donc je regrette rien. Et puis quand on a rien a perdre a quitter la france pour quelques temps, faut pas hesiter. Et puis dublin, c'est jeune, ca bouge, ca fait la fete, donc ya moyen de passer du bon temps.

C'est sympa et très instructif d'avoir l'opinion de français qui sont sur place depuis un moment déjà. Pour revenir à ce que tu as dit :

C'est un point dont je n'étais pas au courant tout simplement parce que je n'y avais pas réfléchis. Je te confirme que les calls center n'est pas mon domaine de prédiléction et que mon niveau d'anglais est, comme bon nombre de frenchy, pas extraordinaire (à l'oral tout du moins). Cependant, je pense (peut-être à tord) m'adapter assez facilement en occupant un premier poste (hors call center) peut-être inférieur à ce que je pourrais prétendre en France puis ensuite une fois les "problèmes" oraux minimisés enchainés sur un poste plus intéressant professionnellement. Perso, je pense rester entre 2 et 5 ans en Irlande. Oui, j'imagine que l'on doit entendre parler français assez régulièrement dans les rues ou pubs de Dublin (Capital y a peut-être sa part de responsabilité ;) ) et donc qu'il y a de la concurrence mais "c'est le jeu ma pauvre lucette !". Je suis très motivé à partir et une fois là-bas ce ne sera pour baisser les bras.

tu as raison de ne pas essayer de trouver le boulot de tes reves tout de suite. C'est aussi ce que j'ai fait en arrivant, un premier boulot pour masteriser en anglais...ensuite s'attaquer aux bons boulots. le tout c'est de trouver un premier boulot qui te permette reellement de progresser en anglais. je pense que travailler dans un pub ou un resto, ou pire un call center francais, n'est pas forcement tres efficace pour faire progresser le niveau. Perso, en arrivant j'ai fait la tournee des magazins photo du centre de dublin en deposant mon cv (j'ai quelques connaissance photo, et impression)...et bingo...j'ai ete embauche comme vendeur dans un magazin. et la progression en anglais en ete tres rapide, en face a face toute la journee avec les clients...relou mais efficace...j'ai tenu quelques moi, et j'ai arrete juste a temps avant de tuer a fucking customer.... En meme temps j'ai applique la technique du "fuillons le francais", pris une colloc avec des australien et neozelandais... puis j'ai trouve un second boulot (un peu plus en rapport avec mon profil, mais toujours pas l'ideal)....l'etape suivante aurait ete de trouver un troisieme boulot (celui de mes reves), mais j'ai decider de suivre l'amour...et le soleil.
Donc reussir en irlande c'est possible, il faut juste prevoir quelques annees, fuir les francais (au debut), apprendre a vivre avec cette meteo de m..... Mais si t'es breton, ce sera peut etre plus facile pour toi, c'est dans tes genes... moi j'ai pas reussi !
Et pour la question d'Essen, combien d'argent pour vivre a Dublin ? BEAUCOUP !! je dirai, par semaine, pour survivre : €90 pour le logement, €40 bouffe (c'est de la survie, donc les courses chez Lidl, pas de bus, pas de pintes, pas d'extra, tu cuisine chez toi ou a l'auberge)... apres pour vivre correctement....multiplie par 2....pour se faire plaisir, multiplie par 3.. pour info, je crois que le salaire minimum en irlande est €330 par semaine.

les regions touristiques sont Dublin, le sud ouest, l'ouest... et puis un peu tout le reste.
Pour trouver une colloc, ca peut etre rapide, ou tres long... personellement j'ai vecu deux mois en auberge de jeunesse le temps de trouver un truc interessant (j'ai rencontre de personnes dans l'auberge, et on c'est pris un appart ensemble).
tu peut faire beaucoup plus rapide, en quelques jours si tu veux. le tout c'est d'etre super rapide pour repondre aux annonces (beaucoup de gens cherchent, et generalement la meme chose que toi !) Va faire un tour sur www.daft.ie ca te donneras une idee de ce a quoi tu peux t'attendre.

I’m heading to Bangkok for a 5-month internship, and I’m wondering about the budget because I’ve read all sorts of things—so I decided to post here to get answers tailored to my situation! :D I found housing that costs me 7,000 baht (I know it’s a bit pricey, but it’s super convenient...), which works out to about 160 € all-inclusive. So, I was wondering if it’s realistic to live on 500 or 600 € per month, and if so, under what conditions? Is that enough, considering I’ll be working 40 hours a week?

WEP offers loads of different projects, including one I really like: helping and volunteering on a farm, particularly in South America (Peru or Argentina).
I’d love to know if anyone has tried this project or knows someone who has... or has done something similar? I’d like to get some feedback before diving into the adventure.

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).

Hi, I’m a self-employed physiotherapist in France, and as my wife (a nurse) and I look into working abroad in about two years, I’ve been offered an equivalence to become a respiratory physiotherapist in Switzerland. Actually, I’m currently doing a postgraduate diploma in pediatric respiratory physiotherapy and want to specialize in that area. Anyway, that’s not the main point—could anyone explain the pros and cons of doing this job in Switzerland? Based on the paperwork I’ve received, the equivalence seems purely administrative or almost... What about working conditions, quality of life, salaries, etc.?

In the summer of 2026, my husband is being transferred to New Caledonia. We’ll be living near Nouméa. Do you know if the early childhood sector is a good field for jobs there? Can’t wait to discover this island! Right now, we’re in the middle of all the administrative paperwork for our 3 kids, finding housing, bringing our cat to the territory, and so on! We’d love to swap our apartment for a house with a pool within 20-30 minutes max of central Aix, with a budget of around 650k €.

Starting this spring, we want to settle near Aix-en-Provence. We're tired of living in the mountains with all the snow—we really need some sunshine and a fresh start. Is it hard to find a house to rent there? What about prices? If you have any great tips or useful info about the area, we’d love to hear it.
