on s'est un peu emballer avec des copains on part sur oslo 5 jours en fevrier( 18€ le billet d'avion aller retour). lorsque je lis les differents posts je me rends compte qu'a cette epoque pas grand chose est faisable. est il utopique de louer une voiture et si oui pour quoi faire? on aimerai bien voire autre chose que la ville de Oslo. nous sommes interressé par tout.
si en passant vous avez des adresses sympa pour faire la fete. existe t il des bars tout en glace comme on peut voire dans certaine ville du nord.
On s'y croisera peut-etre, on s'est embalé aussi de notre côté ! Par contre nous ne comptons pas rester à Oslo, mais monter au Nord pour avoir une chance de voir des aurores boréales, je te fais part de quelques liens à ce sujet.
adio c'est ryan air qui casse les prix. nous on part du 2 au 7 fevrier mais au depart de barcelone. tu compte circuler comment la bas. je trouve terrible comme idée de montée dans le nord mais comment? est ce réaliste en 5 jours. on y va pas pour courir. on veut faire la fete et decouvrir le pays. continu a me donner des bonnes idées comme ca, je suis preneur.
D'après les infos que j'ai pu trouver, Oslo - Tromso c'est 30 heures par la route (bus ou voiture) ou par le train, et sinon 2 heures par avion. Je n'ai pas encore regarder le prix des billets d'avion par contre. Et comme on a aussi que 5 jours, 30 heures de jours ça fait beaucoup... J'ai aussi aussi que c'est à Tromso qu'il y a le plus de bars par habitants en Norvege 😉
Bref pour l'instant je ne suis pas plus avancée, je te tiens au courant. Et si tu as d'autres idées, n'hésites pas à les partager !
J'ai fais seulement une journée à Oslo, et je pense que 5 jours ça fait peut-être beaucoup en effet pour rester dans cette ville... Je connais pas le reste de la Norvège mais peut-être que louer une voiture pour aller sur Bergen, Flam ou faire un peu de la côte ouest peu valoir le coup... Pour faire la fête, oslo est une grande ville donc ça devrait être jouable, et il me semble qu'il y a pas mal d'étudiants à Bergen, donc idem... A confirmer cependant, c'est pas du vécu, j'ai juste entendu parler de ça... 🙂

Oslo en février. Les nuits sont longues, mais il y a souvent de la neige en cette saison ça égaye un peu le paysage. Il doit faire jour de 9h30 à 16h à vue de nez.
Si tu aimes le ski de fond ou alpin, il y des pistes à portée de métro (Tryvann). C'est pas les Pyrénées mais pour une journée ça peut être sympa. les pistes sont éclairées. En montant à frognerseteren en métro, tu peux aussi louer une luge pour une demi journée par exemple, descendre la piste (port du casque recommandé!!), reprendre le métro en bas de la piste et recommencer autant que tu veux. Moi, j'ai 35 ans : sur la piste je passe pour un vieux mais ça empèche pas de se marrer. A frognerseteren, tu as un super resto/bar en architecture tradi avec super vue sur le fjord et excellent gâteau aux pommes à la crème. Goûter aussi au vin chaud local, le gløg.
Le soir, si tu as suffisamment économisé sur le billet d'avion pour t'offrir une bière au tarif norvégien, y' a pas mal de bars autour de la station de majorstua, ou dans le centre près du port. Pour info bière se dit øl, et se prononce "eul" ( expression norvégiene indispensable : "En øl til! " : encore une bière svp patron). Je vous dit ça parce que du côté de bayonne je crois savoir qu'on sait vivre.
Si tu aimes le shopping, tu peux descendre Bogstadtveien depuis Majorstua jusque dans le centre. Tu peux aussi le faire dans l'autre sens mais ça monte !
Côté musée, va faire un tour sur la presqu'île de Bygdoy voir le musée des bateaux viking, l'archi traditionnelle au Folkmuseet (superbe église et bâtiments des XVIe - XVIIIe siècles en bois, musée en plein air génial si il fait beau), le musée du Kon TIki etc.. tout ça c'est au même endroit, et on peut peut-être aller à bygdoy en bateau depuis le port d'oslo (15 minutes, à vérifier en février. Sinon, en bus). Bygdoy, c'est une journée pour tout voir.
Il y a aussi le musée Munch si tu aimes la peinture triste (avis personnel).
Une promenade dans le parc de frogner, dit aussi VigelandPark, c'est joil et gratuit.
En 5 jours, je crois que je tenterais l'aller retour en train jusqu'à Bergen : tu traverses toute la montagne coast to coast, les paysage sont extraordinaires. compter, de mémoire, 6 à 8h de train en fonction de la météo. Visite de Bergen (sous la pluie comme d'hab') et retour le lendemain. ça doit pouvoir se faire sur 2 jours et ça peut être très sympa, si on aime le train (confortable, spacieux et lent). C'est aussi l'occasion de faire des rencontres (tout le monde parle anglais). Retour possible en avion si vs avez les moyens.
Je suppose que vous vous êtes un peu renseignés et que vous savez que tout est super cher en Norvège (logement, bouffe ...).

Tu connais donc bien la région de Tromsø j'imagine... Sais tu si en février on peut facilement, en étant logé à Tromsø aller faire du ski (plutot alpin), ou des balades en raquettes ? Est-il possible d'aller aux Lofoten ou est-ce trop loin ?
Et question logement, connais-tu un petit village proche de Tromsø qui permettrait d'avoir plus de chance de voir des aurores boréales (moins de pollution lumineuse) tout en restant proche de la ville ?
En fevrier, pas de problème pour le ski, mais juste un petit centre de ski (il y a le Tromso Alpinsenter). Sinon, la tradition est de monter soi même les montagnes avec les peaux de phoques.
Vous pouvez aller aux Lofoten à partir de Bodo - dans ce cas je vous suggère de simplement aller là au lieu de passer par Tromso, c'est incroyablement beau et il y a du ski et des aurores boréales là aussi. On trouve les billets d'avion sur le même site, environ au même prix. Vous pouvez jeter un coup d'oeil à mes photos de ski dans les Lofoten en mars
Si vous allez dans les Lofoten, vous pouvez rester dans la region de Svolvaer, ou on arrive par bateau de Bodo.
Dans tous les cas, si vous allez au nord, utilisez Oslo seulement comme port de départ et n'y perdez pas de temps.
Le transport en autobus dans le nord peut être un peu difficile à ce que je sais, alors si vous êtes sans auto je pense que ça peut être un peu compliqué de chercher les petits villages.
Aux Lofoten par contre, il n'y a que des petits villages.

On compte a priori louer une voiture, donc on pourra circuler sans problème. Comment sont les routes en février ? Pour info, nous étions au Québec (Granby) l'hiver dernier, et prendre la voiture avec la neige ne nous a pas géné.
Et sinon j'ai entendu parler des Aples de Lyngen, ce n'est pas dans la région de Tromsø ?

Aucun problème pour les routes, très bien entretenues et pas mal toujours pratiquables (le gouvernement Norvégien dépense des sommes d'argent faramineuses pour faire vivre sa population dans les coins les plus isolés). Faites gaffe au prix de location de voiture - vérifiez d'avance.
Lyngen, c'est pas loin de Tromso oui, et c'est super beau, et il y a plein de petits villages pour observer les aurores.

Pour ce qui est de rester à Oslo en février: oui, 5 jours est largement suffisant. Trop sûrement!
Je proposerai effectivement 2-3 jours sur Oslo et un voyage extra vers la côte ouest par le train Oslo-Bergen de nuit ou vers Tromsø en avion, pourquoi pas (mais alors là il aurait peut-être fallu 6-7 j en Norvège)
L'utilisation de la voiture en hiver est inconcevable. Moi-même, je ne tenterai guère la route Oslo-Bergen. Les routes sont mauvaises en Norvège, rien à voir avec le standard européen et français. De plus la neige/glace sur les routes n'arrange rien. Prenez le train ou l'avion si vous voulez faire plus de 100 km hors de la capitale.
Faire du ski nordique aux alentours d'Oslo: oui! La capitale est pour ainsi dire en bordure de forêt, il n'y a qu'à prendre le métro vers Frognerseteren et le tour est joué!
Oslo est à voir en hiver (jan-fév.) et en été (Juin-juillet) à mon avis. Bon séjour et remplissez votre porte-monnaie avant de partir.
Mais comme je le disais plus haut, je ne compte pas aller à Oslo mais à Tromsø (directement en avion), et je compte louer une voiture sur place, à Tromsø pour me déplacer dans les environs.
Sinon ma question portait sur le lever et coucher du soleil en février à Tromsø, et les différentes activités à faire dnas le coin... Qu'en penses-tu ?

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
