Nous avons récemment décidé un voyage à Moscou/St Petersbourg pour la fin de l'année.
Je n'avais pas envisagé à quel point les formalités pour obtenir un visa sont compliquées - le mot est très très faible -...
Mais bon, je persite !
Billets et hôtels sont réservés... Reste le visa...
J'ai contacté une agence recommandée par le GR (à Paris bien sûr), mais... pas très envie d'envoyer nos 5 passeports par la poste, et sachant qu'il y a un consulat à Marseille, ai décidé de me débrouiller toute seule comme une grande !
Donc, j'ai :
- passeports en règle (valables 6 mois après retour + 2 pages vierges) ;
- attestations d'ssurance en règle (demandée via net ou tel auprès de carte visa ou mastercard) ;
- formulaire ;
Et là, la prise de tête commence...
Comment obtenir les fameux vouchers ???????????????????????????
Le consulat, que j'ai pu joindre par téléphone, me dit que je peux les demander directement à l'hôtel... Mais je suis passée par un site de résa, et ma résa est annulable jusqu'à la veille du départ, donc non règlée... Je me demande même si l'hôtel me connait à ce jour...
Suis je donc obligée de passer par une agence, à laquelle je devrais juste donner le nom des hôtels réservés, et, qui moyennant finances et un coup de baguette magique , me délivrera ce précieux voucher ?
En fait, j'ai l'impression, après avoir lu pleins de conversations sur les forums, qu'il n'est pas nécesaire d'avoir une résa d'hôtel pour obtenir ce voucher ??? Ce document est il juste officiellement bidon ???
Après tout peu importe, mais dites moi comment faire !!!

Bon courage ! .. pourtant dans ce cas c'est plus simple de passer par une agence spécialisée ils savent faire et surtout ils savent qui est acceptable, et si besoin sont a mm de fournir ce voucher
cela fait +/-15 ans que, habitant en province, je fais tous mes visas en utilisant Action Visas sans aucun pbl et il y en a d'autres sur la place comme "on dit"
et attention la fin d'année c'est bientôt et il faut 2 semaines + délais postaux pour avoir un visa russe ou payer un supplement assez élevé pour réduire a 8j
PS un "vrai voucher" implique normalement un paiement des prestations

J'ai toujours organisé mes voyages moi même.. Ça fait partie du voyage. Mais là Je n'arrive toujours pas à comprendre pourquoi j'ai ne peux pas faire ce qu'une agence non officielle peut faire pour moi moyennant finances : il ne s'agit pas là du visa pour lequel je trouve normal de payer, mais juste d'une preuve d'hérbegement... 45€ par personne, ça faut bien monter le prix de la chambre !
Et puis pourquoi passer par une agence puisque heureusement depuis peu il y a un consulat à marseille, inutile donc de confier les passeports à la poste , il me suffit de réunir les documents, de prendre RDV au consulat, de déposer mon dossier. Le pb c'est ce satané voucher...
Voyager zen, je ne demande que ça mais cette fois ça s'engage mal...je suis certaine que ce parcours du combattant se fera oublier dès l'arrivée à moscou mais quand même...!
PS : le départ est pour le 30 décembre, ça laisse 2 mois... Mais je m'active !

J’ai également effectué moi-même les démarches pour le visa et je suis d’accord avec vous, ça n’est pas si compliqué que cela.
Dans mon cas, l’hôtel m’avait envoyé les vouchers (mais j’avais réservé l’hôtel en direct). Ils m’ont envoyé un formulaire que j’ai dû leur retourner par fax (!) . Et en plus c’était gratuit.
Essayez d’appeler les hôtels que vous avez réservés et s’ils ont bien mention de votre réservation, demandez-leur de vous envoyer les vouchers ?
Sinon, annulez votre résa d’hôtel puisqu’elle est annulable et re-réservez directement sur le site de l’hôtel.
Après, je comprends que ça peut être compliqué si vous avez plusieurs hôtels.

Voilà qui répond précisément à ma question ! Je peux donc obtenir mon voucher toute seule comme une grande sans passer par une agence, et, icing on the cake, sans frais !
Je vais essayer de contacter les hôtels (je n'en ai que 2, 1 à moscou et 1 à st petersbourg) dans un premier temps, et, sinon, suivre votre bon conseil : annuler ma résa et ré-réserver directement sur le site de l'hôtel.

Attention, le voucher est en fait 2 documents : une lettre de confirmation et le voucher à proprement parler. Mais ils sont toujours délivrés ensemble.
Petite précision quant à la gratuité des vouchers via l’hôtel : certains hôtels vous font payer le voucher.
Dans mon cas c’était gratuit, mais l’hôtel se gardait le droit de me prélever 15 euros de frais si j’annulais ma réservation après coup. C'est logique.
D’après ce que j’ai pu comprendre (mais je ne suis pas sûr), les hôtels bons-marché vous font payer les vouchers, les hôtels haut de gamme vous l’offrent.

Et je préfère cette solution qui consiste à gérer seule plutôt que passer par une agence..

Un hôtel de "classe" ne fait pas payer votre "voucher"
Il est assez difficile de vous suivre sur le même sujet, dans deux endroits différents.
Si tous vos documents sont corrects, vous n'aurez jamais de problèmes.
Pour votre information, vous allez recevoir une carte d'immigration , à la douane (à remplir par vous ou suivant les douanes vous sera remise remplie). Vous ne devez absolument pas perdre ce papier, il vous sera demandé pour la sortie de la Russie.
Il sera réclamé par votre hôtel avec votre passeport.
Si j'ai bien compris, vous êtes plusieurs. Je vous conseille, à Moscou, de visiter le métro. Vous êtes pas loin d'une station.
Prenez pour une personne;10 voyages. pas cher et le métro est très beau. et vous pourrez faire le tour de Moscou.

L'hôtel, même réservé par une agence ou internet, peut vous délivrer les vouchers. Mais à la condition que le séjour soit réglé. Ceci est un service gratuit ou payant, selon les hôtels.
Passer par une agence pour obtenir le voucher permet de contourner cette difficulté, puisqu'on vous remet un voucher pour un réservation "bidon", mais tout à fait valable.
Vous pouvez également commander votre invitation à une agence russe. Il y en a qui proposent des invitations touristiques à 20€ par personne et qui vous les envoie par mail en 24h. Que vous ayez un hôtel ou non, vous aurez ce document. Vous avez raison de déposer vous-même votre dossier au VHS (centre de visa) de Marseille. J’y ai fait ma dernière demande en septembre. Ils sont très efficaces, mais n’oubliez pas de prendre rendez-vous sur leur site http://www.vhs-france.com/main.php

L'hôtel de Moscou ne me répondant pas, j'ai contacté russie autrement hier après midi... j'ai reçu mes 5 vouchers ce matin !!! Pour la modique somme de 17euros par personne ! Au lieu de 45 sur les sites indiqués par le GR... Le petit fûté en dit le plus grand bien...
Je remplis les demandes de visa sur le site de l'ambassade, je prends RDV pour le dépôt du dossier... et à nous la Russie !
Je pense contacter cette angence pour mes billets de train Moscou/St pet, et un guide pour une visite à l'arrivée dans chacune de ces villes.
Je vous tiendrai informés de la suite des évènements, mais je suis reboostée !

Pour la façon d'écrire en russe. je ne suis plus habitué au caractères latins.
Pour le russe. et en latin , parfois c'est bizarre. pour les traductions.
Pour ce qui vous concerne; vous ne m'avez pas encore expliqué le nombre de jours que vous souhaitez rester en Russie.
Pour une demande inférieure à 15 jours, vous devez avoir la mention "payé"; en russe. style cachet. sur votre "voucher".
Si votre demande est supérieure à 15 jours, la société qui a délivré votre voucher, signalera ou a signalé qu'elle ne peut pas fournir d'attestation de paiement pour l'hôtel. Vous risquez un refus de visa pour une période supérieure à 15 jours.
Pour 17 euros; c'est acceptable. mais vérifier ce qui est écrit. tout.

Pour la liaison Saint-Pétersbourg à Moscou , vous pouvez prendre le CAMCAH le "M" signifie "P" . En français le TGV ou Sapsan.
Vous pouvez réserver par internet.
En France, avec VHS, vous devez signer votre demande de visa en noir ou en bleu. je ne sais plus. Pas se tromper. il paraît que c'est un motif de refus.
Vérifier vos photos. elles doivent être conformes.
Pour l'assurance; l'attestation de l'assurance vous couvrant pour les périodes déterminées, ou plus; en Russie est suffisante.
Il n'y a rien de compliqué
L'est, (Pologne, Biélorussie, Ukraine, Allemagne) ne sont pas des caractères latins. à vous de découvrir. mais beaucoup plus sincère.
IMPORTANT.
Réserver, votre avion, votre train , moyen de transport.
Confirmer quand vous avez le visa.
Inutile de dépenser de l'argent pour un refus de visa.

I’m planning a trip to Laos from France with a transit through Thailand involving 2 entries. I might spend up to 7 days max in Thailand (round trip).
The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?
- Number of days spent in Thai territory?
- Entry and exit dates: number of days between the two?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I’ve tried my hotel, the Lotte Hotel (which is well-known in Seoul), the airport—basically, I’ve entered at least 20 addresses, all rejected....

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

Paper documents might not be accepted.

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
