One country, 5 snapshots

Hi Kate, that’s the idea. The wording is way more vulgar. 😉 Beyond its literal meaning, the first word is also an interjection that pops up all over the place in speech—like in those exaggerated Milanese imbruttito videos you can easily find on YT. Catherine

My topics have always been a bit messy, I think... Personally, I don’t mind. 🙂

Just wanted to say hi to the regulars—the guy with 50,000 posts minus two photos and the immortal Japanese member with no clichés...

No worries, Masterpo probably knows what I'm getting at. It was just an inside joke, and I think he's got as much of a sense of humor as I do.

Five stereotypes about people from five countries—only one is true:

Japanese people are lazy Swedes are ugly French people are hardworking Italian women only love bel canto Sawadians are restless
AT Attila Globetrotter ·
And you wouldn’t happen to have 5 photos that capture your idea of Zimbabwe, by any chance?😛
NI Nilsou Veteran ·
Hi everyone. Just a quick question ❓ How do you all post photos of this size? I’m using a Samsung S22 and don’t have access to my computer anymore. Thanks so much for your help and explanations!

NILSOU.

How is it a photo of this size?? Once the photo is uploaded, just click on "add to text" and it’ll place it where you put the cursor in the text.

I just did it from my smartphone without any issues and without modifying the original photo.

Just for a test! 😊

She’s got a bigger smartphone than you! 😏

😂😂

In Paris, we’d say there’s “Stereotype Square” (thanks Gad)

And to join in by paying tribute to our Milanese friend: Her Italy! Bay of Naples, summer 2023

One evening view from Mount Vesuvius

The unmissable ruins of Pompeii

A church in Sorrento

An art gallery in the same Sorrento

And how can we talk about Italy without mentioning the Cuisine! 😋
MO Montagnard74 Globetrotter ·
🇮🇹 always, my neighbors I adore!

Puglia region, summer 2020 (with the mask 😷)

Bari, a summer evening—easygoing and warm

Ostuni, the sleeping beauty in the heat

Alberobello, a must-see in the area

A bit further north, Vieste, Gargano National Park

And we head straight back down to Polignano a Mare

Kate won’t hold it against me for the sixth photo, ‘cause with me, it often ends with aperitivo 🍷😄
KA Kate Globetrotter ·
She won’t hold it against me for the sixth photo, because with me, it often ends up at apéro time 😂🍷

I’m on my way!

Ciao

And how can we talk about Italy without talking about Cuisine!

I’d thought about it, but how to choose? Besides, here I eat without photographing...

Super simple express recipe (and delicious if the tomatoes are good) as a thank-you for the tribute: Pasta al pomodoro A good drizzle of olive oil in a pan, sauté two garlic cloves cut in half and two or three finely chopped shallots. When it starts to brown, add a good splash of dry white wine. Add tomatoes (peeled beforehand) roughly chopped. Let it simmer until the tomatoes break down. Turn off the heat, add roughly torn fresh basil leaves. Add the al dente pasta. Toss everything together while giving it a quick blast of heat. Serve in deep plates, sprinkled with parmesan. Enjoy.

Attila, you did say you had no objection to the post going off in all directions? 😛

Catherine

You did say you didn’t mind if the post went off in all directions, right? :P

Not me. 😉 No idea about the new Michels, though.

Anyway, when posting photos, it’d be nice to at least stick to the topic...

One country, 5 photos...
AT Attila Globetrotter ·
Uhhh, wouldn’t that make 11 photos for Italy?😇

Or did Puglia secede and aperitivo become its own country?😏

😜 Oops, I’m getting scolded by the teacher 😪 “Teacher’s strict, but teacher’s fair.” Promise I won’t do it again 😊 At the same time, Italy deserves way more than 5 photos 😉 And apéro isn’t a country—it’s a religion! And a religion is universal, so we’re allowed 🤷🏼

🎃🥰

I’ll take 5 aperitif photos from 5 different countries! 😛

(This post is kind of like the "if you were going to a desert island, what 5 things would you bring..." one)
MO Montagnard74 Globetrotter ·
5 countries, 5 dishes—I’m in!
KA Kate Globetrotter ·
No, she wants 5 photos of 5 different country aperitifs 😛 (but are non-alcoholic drinks considered aperitifs? For example, mint tea in Morocco...)
