Planning my first solo trip to Malta

I’d like to visit Malta for the first time as a solo woman, in January 2025 for two weeks from Lille in northern France. Explain everything to me from A to Z, please! Is it possible to go without a guide? What do you recommend? Thanks for your valuable advice

From A to Z is a bit much for me. If you're talking about a paper guidebook, that would give you the A to Z. If you mean a physical guide, it's not necessary at all... Plus, the bus network is really extensive, so you can get around without any issues.

Hi Hyerois83, thanks for replying, when I say from A to Z it’s because I don’t know this island at all and I’m afraid of getting lost. I just want to feel reassured. I want to know how to organize myself when I arrive, what to do beforehand, and what to do next. Thanks for your tips....

You can find a tour of the island on my blog: https://escalescroisiere.fr/escale-a-malte.html

Hi there, no need for a guide (neither physical nor paper)—you can find plenty of info online. The island is easy to visit, and there are buses to get around (though you might not always know what time they run, so patience is key!) I’d also recommend visiting the island of Gozo—you can explore it in a day if you’re up for some walking.

There’s the Talinja app that gives you real-time info (though it’s not totally reliable...)

Hello, Thanks and best wishes! For renting rooms during each guided tour, can we get info directly?

I didn’t get it

Yes, that’s exactly it—a youth hostel or cheaper room, just to rest, in each place and during each visit. Thanks a bunch!
