J'ai 20 ans et je vais bientot terminer mes études. J'aimerais partir (seul) environ 5 / 6 mois à l'étranger (à partir de novembre) pour perfectionner mon anglais.
Je dispose d'un bugdet assez restreint (je compte travailler de juin à fin octobre pour financer ce voyage) et j'ai toujours rêvé de vivre sur une île du coup mon choix s'est porté sur le Belize !
Pensez vous qu'un séjour d'une durée de 5 ou 6 mois au Belize me permettra de travailler mon anglais ?
Je me suis beaucoup renseigné sur ce pays et Caye Caulker m'intéresse tout particulièrement.
Je ne compte pas manger dans des restos souvent, j'ai juste besoin d'un lit à l'abris et d'un endroit pour prendre ma douche et faire la cuisine ; en gros que je ne cherche pas du tout le grand confort (le soleil et l'océan me réconforteront suffisamment 🙂).
Sachant ceci, quel est le budget minimum à prévoir pour se loger et se nourrir ? Est il possible de trouver une location pour 6 mois qui serait moins cher que louer une chambre à la nuit , et si oui comment trouver (mes recherches à ce sujet n'ont rien donné)
J'avais pensé à environ 600€ / mois pour le logement et 200€ / mois pour la nourriture . Est ce trop ? Pas assez ?
Enfin, ce que j’appréhende c'est surtout qu'en étant tout seul pendant ces quelques mois je risque de galérer à ne rien faire.. (j'aurais aimé y travailler mais cela me semble impossible au vue de mes recherches).
Est ce que selon vous c'est possible de rencontrer des jeunes sur place afin "d'avoir une vie sociale" pendant tout ce temps et ne pas se retrouver seul a rien faire tout les jours ? Je peux me contenter de musique et de sport, mais bon tout seul c'est moins cool sur le long terme..
Après, si vous avez d'autres destinations à Belize qui pourrait être intéressantes je suis preneur ! (voir pourquoi pas un autre pays tant que le budget n'est pas élevé)
Puisque petit budget et peur de t'ennuyer pendant les 6 mois, pourquoi pas tout simplement la GB ? Le voyage coûtera moins cher et tu auras le droit de travailler et donc sans gagner des milles et des cents, cela te permettra de mettre du beurre dans les épinards et aussi de t'occuper et de rencontrer des gens.
Pour ce qui est de l'apprentissage de l'anglais à proprement parler, à mon avis (je suis prof de langues), mieux vaut privilégier un anglais et un accent standards, ce qui sera un plus notamment pour ta vie professionnelle plus tard si tu envisages d'utiliser l'anglais, qu'un anglais "bizarre". Au Belize, tu auras accent, vocabulaire et structures grammaticales différents et franchement sur ton cv, cela ne fera pas "sérieux". Pour te donner une idée peut-être plus parlante, ce serait comme apprendre le français au fin fond de l'Afrique plutôt qu'en France et donc pas très prisé par les recruteurs potentiels.
salut le Belize demeure une destination relativement onéreuse...c'est comparable aux prix de la France voire légérement au-dessus.
Et pour ne rien arranger, CK est un endroit encore plus cher qu'ailleurs..parce que c'est très touristique.
Donc sur place il faudra trouver une petite chambre un peu à l'écart du centre touristique.
Pour manger faut compter dans les 10 dollars US minimum ça fait dans les 20 B$..
pour ce qui est d'apprendre l'anglais par contre oui le mieux c'est de rester à CK parce que beaucoup de touristes canadiens et des USA.
Mais l'anglais du Belize est un peu particulier , les Bélizéens ont leurs accents comme dans la zone Caraîbe...ceci dit il est assez facile à comprendre par comparaison avec un américain ou même un britannique.
ne pas s'attendre à parler l'anglais d'Oxford , les bélizéens parlent surtout soit espagnol soit garifuna entre eux..
le soleil et l'océan me réconforteront suffisamment
attention bien que CK soit assez paradisiaque, on en fait vite le tour...si tu veux t'installer 6 mois ça vaut peut être la peine d'acheter un kayak gonflable pour se ballader dans la mangrove genre Gumotex.
Ensuite les excursion de plongée coûtent assez cher.
Et puis il y a le bateau/navette à payer pour aller à Belize City.
Maintenant si tu tables sur un budget de 600euros ça devrait aller c'est certainement possible de trouver une piaule..
ou alors se rabattre sur San Ignacio par exemple qui doit être meilleur marché ; mais San Ignacio c'est une ville de passage.

il faut savoir qu'il y a tout de même de la criminalité au Belize, que Belize City est une ville déroutante lorsqu'on arrive.
Mais tu ne seras jamais seul, les bélizéens sont très ouverts et relativement accueillants tout de même.
Si tu veux vivre une expérience au Belize c'est plutôt en vue d'une orientation professionnelle dans le tourisme...
moi je ferais un stage au Belize ça serait pour devenir moniteur de plongée par exemple...
