Future mariée du mois de juin, avec mon futur mari, nous sommes à la recherche de notre destination de voyage de noces.
Tout irait bien, si nous n'avions pas quelques contraintes :
Pas de chaleur trop forte ou de soleil qui brûle (car je ne supporte pas la chaleur et mon futur mari a la peau fragile) Durée limitée : départ au plus tôt le samedi 23 décembre pour retour le lundi 1er janvier au plus tard (nous ne pouvons pas avoir plus de congés payés, car nous avons des nouveaux emplois depuis peu) Pas trop loin de la France ou facilement accessible de Lyon si c'est plus loin (pour ne pas passer une journée à l'aller et une au retour dans les transports) Si possible pas un endroit trop "usine à touristes", mais quelque chose de romantique et calme Des activités variées (visites, randonnées, sports, détente...)
Comme nous ne sommes jamais partis en voyage, nous n'avons vraiment pas d'idées sur une destination. Se pose aussi le problème du climat. Nous avions pensé à des pays comme l'Autriche, la Croatie, la Finlande, la Norvège...
Niveau budget : ce n'est pas un problème actuellement, nous ne sommes pas partis depuis 5 ans en vacances, donc, nous voulons nous faire plaisir !
J'ai essayé de chercher sur les sites des voyagistes des informations sur les séjours, mais c'est encore trop tôt, il n'y a que les infos sur l'été et l'automne.
si vous pouvez nous donner quelques pistes de réflexion, ce serait vraiment gentil de votre part.
Je m'y connais très peu en destinations mais dans vos "contraintes", celle de "Pas trop loin de la France" me paraît annuler la première "Pas de chaleur trop forte ou de soleil qui brûle" car je ne pense pas qu'à cette période et en Europe (même en Afrique du Nord, pas très loin non plus) tu tombes sur un séjour écrasant de chaleur!
Perso, j'hésiterai entre deux optiques:
1) c'est l'hiver on assume à fond et on choisit une destination qui va avec type Laponie, Norvège, etc. (en moins radical ça donne aussi Vienne, Prague, etc.) et qui fait tourner son tourisme autour de l'aspect justement festif de Noël. A vous les promenades en amoureux dans les rues enneigées et illuminées, les chocolats chauds réconfortants, les musées (ben oui, c'est dedans, ça réchauffe 😉!) etc.
2) comme c'est l'hiver vous cherchez un peu de soleil et donc une destination plus douce 😎 comme le sud de l'Espagne, du Portugal ou de l'Italie. La température sera sans doute autour de 10 degrés plutôt qu'autour de moins 10 😛 et vous permettra de passer bcp de temps à vous balader et à faire des activités extérieures!
PS = alors je précise que tout ce que je dis au dessus est peut-être un tissu d'ânneries car je ne connais rien au climat du Portugal en décembre, ni rien à rien en fait... je veux dire je ne parle pas d'expérience... juste de mon petit point de vue à moi qui ne vaut que ce qu'il vaut!

ça ne sera pas l'Egypte, pas une station de ski des Alpes (je suis originaire des Alpes !), ni Belle Ile ou l'ile de ré, ni les Canaries ou Madère
Vous n'auriez pas des idées sur le climat des pays en décembre. La scandinavie nous plait bien, mais j'ai peur que ce soit vraiment trop froid et trop nuit (vu que c'est la nuit polaire). D'un autre coté, c'est Noel et Noel au pays du Père Noel, ça ne se fait pas tout le temps !
Si la Scandinavie vous intéresse, pourquoi pas naviguer à bord de l'Hurtigruten sous les aurores boréales et dans la belle, à ce qu'on dit, pénombre des jours d'hiver arctique.
A ce qu'il parait, c'est très sympa de passer les fêtes à bord. Et puis, il y a des remises pour les voyages de noce.
Je viens de visiter les sites internet que vous m'avez recommandés. J'ai demandé des brochures pour l'Hurtigruten. Je ne connaissais pas du tout ! Les voyages proposés ont l'air très sympatiques !

Pour avoir le plus de chance d'en voir, il vaut mieux être au delà du cercle polaire et donc compte tenu de la durée brève de votre séjour, embarquer sur l'hurtigruten à Bodø (ou Tromsø) pour naviguer jusqu'à Kirkenes puis retour jusqu'à Bodø (ou Tromsø) pourrait être une bonne solution.
C'est magnifique et ça me donne de plus en plus envie d'aller là bas ! J'en ai profité pour aller faire un tour sur votre site internet. ça me conforte dans mon idée d'aller dans les régions froides, plutôt que sous les tropiques, vu que je supporte beaucoup mieux le froid sec que la chaleur étouffante des tropiques ! Et puis on cherche quelque chose d'original et d'insolite aussi. J'aime bien le principe de l'hurtigruten : "croisière" mais pas façon "croisière s'amuse"...

Je me pose maintenant la question du transport France / Norvège. On partirait de Lyon, ce qui implique surement un transfert sur Paris d'abord. Et ensuite entre Oslo et les autres villes, comment ça se passe ? Est ce qu'il y a des autres villes que Oslo qui sont desservies à partir de la France ?
Il va vraiment falloir que je me penche sur la question, mais on va laisser passer le mariage d'abord !

Pourquoi pas Madère ???? le temps est doux, les activités peuvent y être très variées comme ce que tu recherche, et ce n'est qu'à 3h de vol de Paris (je ne sais pas de Lyon) avec seulement une heure de décalage. En plus, les illuminations des fêtes de Noêl et le feu d'artifice sont mondialement connus.

On commence à y voir un peu plus clair, niveau destination. Ce sera probablement la Norvège ou l'Autriche. Je viens de recevoir de la documentation qu'on va s'empresser de potasser, enfin, quand le mariage sera passé !

Je me souviens avoir passé il y a quelques années un séjour merveilleux à Venise à Noël et la semaine qui suivait. Très peu de touristes, une lumière extaordinaire, des concerts dans les églises, les restaurateurs, hoteliers, etc, pas stressés. il faut sire que nous avons eu la chance d'être escortés par vénitien "ami d'un ami d'un ami", qui connaissait la ville comme sa poche et nous l'a fait découvrir à travers l'histoire, les légendes. Il connaissait chaque pierre et recoin de sa ville hors circuit touristique et avait un talent de conteur extraordinaire ! un vrai conte de Noël !
A tel point, que nous ne voulons pas y retourner à une autre période de l'année, de peur d'être déçus.
Bon, ce n'était pas la grande chaleur, mais emitouflés sous le soleil pâle de Venise, cela valait le déplacement et cela ne manquait pas de romantisme.
Un seul bémol - pour ceux que ça intéresse - nous avons voulu assister à la messe de minuit à Saint Marc, et nous avons fait choux blanc, comme d'autres personnes qui attendaient aussi : une année sur deux, la messe se fait à St Marc, l'autre année à Trieste (si mes souvenirs sont exacts), se renseigner !

L'hiver c'est moins chargé en touristes, le climat est pas chaud, voire froid, mais romantique en diable, et pleins de visites à faire... sur les environs à pied je ne sais pas.
J'avais pas tout lu, je constate décision prise pour la Norvège, connais pas.........donc rien à en dire, sinon qu'il fait pas vraiment chaud, s'attendre à des au moins - 20° + quelques mètres de neige, et les fjords sont pris en glace.
Quand je serai riche (peu d'espoir vu que j'ai 64 ans) j'irai passer des mois et des mois en Afrique: c'est le continent de la richesse humaine qu'on a oublié en Occident, et quelques temps au Vietnam.

La proposition de Milou me rapelle un séjour en décembre à Venise sous la neige, il y a quelques années. C'était magique. Les ponts ejambant les canaux avec les parapets souverts de neige... J'y retourne régulièrement en décembre et même sans la neige il ya ce coté magique, des vitrines illuminées le soir et du marché de Noel vénitien.....
Je suggérerais aussi Prague... la vieille ville, ce côté Europe Centrale un peu aristocrate et désuet.. terriblement romantique. Je vous conseille l'hotel "U tri Pstrosu" (pardon pour l'orthographe c'est surement erroné (ça veut dire Aux trois Autruches). C'est au pied du pont Charles et à l'entrée du vieux quartier tranquille de Mala Strana.
Le restau est très bon.... si vous y passez, admirez les plafonds peints dans les chambres.... ça veut pas dire que j'ai passé mon temps à contempler le plafond!! ;-)) ( http://www.utripstrosu.cz )
Et si vous voulez un peu plus de dépaysement, il y a le Connemara en Irlande. Pour changer d'univers: http://www.loughinaghlodgehotel.ie/ . C'est un peu cher (attention prix affichés par personne.. moi j'avais pas réalisé !!) mais c'est super.
Sinon, pour rester en France, il y a mon dada: le Perche. Il y a une ambiance "cosy" en hiver dans ce coin spécial de la France, niché dans ses collines entre Chartres et Le Mans. Cocoon, et comme je l'ai lu je ne sais plus où: les propriétaires savent faire rimer campagne et champagne.

We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.

I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

My husband and I are planning a trip to Ireland in September 2026.
We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?
