Hello ! Voila vers fin Aout, je dois me rendre au Etats-Unis pour aller passer une année scolaire la-ba dans un lycée américain. J'avais demander d'être placer dans les allentour de New York ce qui comprenait New York City, Washington DC, la Virginie et d'autre endroit placer à l'est du pays. Le probleme c'est que je viens de recevoir mon placement et il se trouve qu'il m'ont envoyer dans l'état de Washington, celui complétement à l'ouest du pays, dans le nord. Jusqu'a là sa aller encore je me disais choutte Seattle mais enfaite non, je me retrouve dans une ville un peux perdu nommer buckley :/. J'ai regarder un peux des photos et je me suis rensseigné un peux et franchement c'est pas vraiment mon genre d'endroit, c'est un peux trop perdu ^^ Alors voila j'aimerais savoir si c'est encore possible à l'heure qu'il est de changer de destination et de famille d'acceuil, sachant que je dois partir le 21 aout ?.
Sinon je ne suis pas contre quelques infos sur Buckley, si quelqu'un y est déjà aller sa sera avec plaisir ! Merci beaucoup.
Alors bon tout d'abord je ne connais pas ta ville buckley a Washington. Mai je vien juste pour temoigner et te raconter ma propre experience. Je vien tout juste de rentrer d'un semestre d'étude aux USA en echange avec mon université. 😎
J'ai donc passé 6 mois dans une Université Americaine dans l'Ohio a New Concord pres de Columbus, Cleveland. etc. Et c'était absolument fabuleux!!!🙂
Moi c'était mon rêve de partir aux USA depuis tout petit. J'ai donc saisi l'opportunité. La ville ou je me suis rendu n'était meme pas sur googlemap lol et pourtant c"était génial. Le campus était immense, je vivais a l'américaine et en plus notre Université a preparé plusieur gros trip pour les International student. j'ai pu donc visiter Chicago, Columbus, Cleveland, j'ai passé 2 semaine a New York pendant Spring Break.
Voila mon conseil a moi c'est fonce, meme si ce n'est pas la ville que tu esperais Fonce, parce que tu ne le regretera pas. Et tu pourra voyager, moi meme j'ai voyager avec des amis avec la compagne de bus greyhound. En plus tu es sur la cote ouest, pas tres loin de San Francisco etc. C'est les USA il y a toujours quelques chose a voir a faire.
Moi depuis que je suis rentré sur Toulon c'est un peu la désilussion les USA me manque grave lol..

Merci pour tes consseil, oui en effet c'est vrai que les Etats-unis c'est vraiment un pays intérréssant mais ma crainte c'est celle que j'ai pu voir à travers plusieurs messages de personnes ayant vécues cette expérience, c'est a dire que l'endroit est tellement perdu que pour se déplacer c'était impossible sans devoir être dépendant de quelqu'un possedant un véhicule, donc voila sa me fait un peux peur, je crains de m'ennuiyer et pour un an je trouve sa vraiment dur :/
Peut être ai je eu de la chance, mais j'étais entourés de personnes tres sympa. C'est vrai que l'on est dépendant. Mais quand on se trouve dans une ville ou il n'y a aucun bus qui passe a part les bus scolaire jaune, on peut pas faire autrement.
Surtout il y avait une tres importante communauté d'étudiant internationaux et on s'arrangeait pour sortir et bouger. Et je dois dire que je ne me suis pas ennuyer un instant pendant ces 6 mois. Tout simplement parceque les américains sont en general tres sympa, et je suis sur que tu pourra bouger facilement avec eux la as.
Mais evidemment si tu as une proposition pour une ville plus intéréssante ca change tout.Au sinon, ne t'en fais pas tu bougeras facilement la bas.
Pour ce qui est d'autres élèves étrangers, ont m'a averti que j'étais le seule qui ai était envoyer la bas :/ Pour ce qui est des personne qui m'acceuilles, le père travail pour boing alors il est pratiquement jamais à la maison et pareil pour la mere qui est assistante médicale, les trois enfants non pas le permis, ils ont mon age. Seule la grande soeur de 18 ans à le permis mais elle est à l'université donc elle vient pas souvent chez elle :/
Un point positif, c'est que la ville Buckley est à moin d'une heure en voiture de Seattle donc c'est super mais je n'irais pas tous les jours non plus et ayant vue des images de la ville, bah sa à l'air désert :|, Six-Fours à l'air plus vivant c'est pour dire ^^ M'enfin je dois encore prendre contacte avec la famille, j'aurais certainement beaucoup de questions à leur poser.

J'avais pas compris ca, je pensais que tu serai dans un campus universitaire. C'est vrai que si tu es le seul etranger, ca risque d'être un peu dur. As tu regarder sur le site greyhound, si il y avait une gare routiere ou un arret greyhound a buckley auquel cela te permettrai de voyager pour pas cher.
Je sais que dans mon patelin il y avait 3 gare Greyhound aux alentour, donc il devrait en avoir aux alentour de ta ville.
J'ai chercher sur le site et il ne semble rien n'y avoir :/ Je me demande c'est pas possible de demander un autre endroit mais bon si il m'envoit la bas à mon avis c'est qu'ils n'avaient rien trouver d'autre. Sans indiscrétion, je peux savoir ou tu étais aller ? lol

Ah bah super si ca peut te remotiver, c'est genial. D'ailleurs je vais peu etre visiter la cote ouest cet hiver, je me verrai bien a las vegas pour le jour de l'an. Fin j'ai plus qu'a taffer pour réunir l'argent pour y retourner. Parce que les USA ca 'a vraiment laisser une super impression, surtout les gens la bas bref.
Je n'ai hélas pas de réponse à te donner mais suis intéressée par ton projet car ma fille souhaite également partir l'année prochaine (quand elle aura 15 ans) passer une année scolaire aux USA. Peux-tu me dire avec quel organisme tu pars ? Ma fille en a trouvé deux sur le net (ISCA et EF) mais il y en a surement d'autres. Si tu pars avec ces organismes, il est possible de rencontrer des élèves qui ont déjà vécu cette aventure, même s'il n'ont pas été dans ton futur établissement, ils ont peut-être comme toi eu les mêmes inquiétudes. N'hésite pas à en parler à ton organisme, ils doivent être en mesure de te renseigner et de répondre à tes questions. De plus en allant sur différents sites, j'ai pu lire le message d'une personne qui s'est retrouvée dans un coin complètement perdu, éloigné de grandes villes et a été très surprise de découvrir à quelques kilomètres de chez elle un lycée immense fourmillant d'étudiants. N'ayant pas de moyens de locomotion, se sont les parents de ses nouveaux amis qui venaient la chercher pour passer l'après-midi. De toute façon si celà ne se passe pas bien tu as toujours la possibilité d'en parler à ton correspondant local et de faire une demande de changement de famille (mais pour celà il faut avant que tu expérimentes ta nouvelle famille quelque temps avant de pouvoir donner ton jugement). En tout cas c'est une expérience formidable que tu vas vivre alors profites-en bien !
Pour répondre à tes questions, je suis passé par l'association STS, et oui j'ai pu rencontré plusieurs personnes qui ont déjà passer une année au Etats-Unis dans le cadre scolaire au cour d'une réunion. Sinon oui j'ai contacter les représentants de l'association et j'ai eu réponse à mes questions puis oui tu as raison j'ai toujours la possibilité d'en parler avec mon représentant local :)

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
