quelqu'un pourrais me dire quel est en asie sud est le pays le plus approprier pour tripper 1 mois avec mon frangins.
voyager avec le sac, stop, bus, plage de paradis, case bon marché, locaux sympa accueillant, faune extraordinaire, petit village touristique mais pas trop ou se sentir chez sois mais déconnecté comme au costa rica ( montezuma ),
bref un trip d'un mois inoubliable, avec 1200 euro chacun vol compris.

ya des vols aller retour a 700 e pour la thailande ca te laisse 500e, soit 125 euros par semaine, ca peut passer si vous etes a deux dans une mm chambre, et qu'il n'y a pas d'exces de fetes !! en gros ne compte pas trop t'éclater avec ce budget ou que ce soit en asie, peut etre plutot au vietnam. ou indonesie, mais je connais pas le prix des billets

Il faut mieux rester chez toi, et faire le tour de Bora Bora, ou le tour des Iles Marquises.
Alors 1200 euros chacun si vous êtes 2, oui c'est possible si vous n'êtes pas difficile et si vous restez dans un pays comme la thailande où il est facile de bouger à petit prix car le pays est adapté aux touristes que j'appelle "sac à dos". Si u te renseignes bien avant, tu pourras y voir les 2 côtés de la thailande (touristique et dépaysante).
Vous comptez partir à quel période?
Si je fais le calcul:
Billet d'avion 600e (l'année dernière je suis partie avec Finnair, j'ai payé mon billet 470e avec escale en Finlande de 1h).
Hébergement 200e par personne (tu peux trouver des bons guesthouse entre 10 et 15 euros la chambre et dans toutes les villes!!!)
Transport en bus ou en train 200e par personne.
nourriture : 200e
Voilà, c'est faisable et tu verras du paysage, mais tu ne pourras pas trop en profiter avec ce budget, ce sera un peu de la survie mais je connais des amis qui l'ont fait!
ahhh.. 1200 euros vol inclus..ça sent le western union tout ça!!!😛, surtout qu'on à tendance à dépenser un peu plus que prévu..! petit calcul rapide :..en comptant en moyenne 30 euros/jour pour le logement+nourriture+transport (si tu bouges) ça fait 900 euros pour le mois +700 le billet on est déjà à 1600.... mais pourquoi pas si tu fais super gaffe..d'après Pékin express, tu peux avec 1 euro/jour!

Pour le vol là c à vous de voir (ICI de Frankfurt à Manille (A/R) le vol coute en moyenne de 750€ à 900 € suivant saisons et cie)
Logements
Coté chambre, il est facile de trouver des ressort ou guesthouse convenable entre 10 et 15€ la chambre.
Mtt avec bcp moins de luxe, tu peux aussi trouver des chambre à partir de 3€ mais alors tu feras ta toilette à l'eau froide (sanitaire commun)
Nourriture et repas:
Tu peux manger ds un toro toro (= cuisine Phil de mama) comme un Phil (= bcp de riz et peu du reste) déjà pour 50P par repas
Si tu désires manger toujours au mm endroit comme un européen alors compte 100 P par repas
Tu peux aussi manger ds un macdo - le rise/chicken pour 37P (prix de 2005)
Tu trouveras la bas tout les fastfood americain (Pizza hut et j'en passe)
Boissons
Une bière ou un coca coute .20 Pesos ds un café mais 14 P au magasin
Déplacements
Tu peux bouger aux Phil en jeepney par saut de puce au prix de 8P (= depl 3 à 8 km environ)
Longs trajets = bus (peu confortable) u car (un peu mieux) et cela te coutera en moyenne 1P/KM (exemple : Manille - Banaue ou Legaspy = 350P one way.
Sinon tu trouveras aussi des ferry (grand et petit) pour tes déplacements maritimes d'ile en ile (voir prix suivant déplacement mais exemple pour aller de cebu à Bohol : 515 P/P en 2005 ou 700 P avec air co)
Fringues
Il est inutile de prendre bcp avec toi. Soyez propre et vous serez toujours bien acceuilli et sur place tu peux te trouver des teeshirt pour 1€, scandale en cuir faite sur mesure entre 6.5€ et 9€, jeans short/burmuda à 3€ et j'en passe.
Partant de ces renseignements de base c'est mtt à toi de faire ton compte car je ne sais pas combien de litre de bière vous comptez ingurgiter par jour 😉
Retenez toutefois que du 15/03 au 15/06 c l'été la bas et donc la haute saison et que tout coute alors un peu + (surtout le vol et hotel + 20%
Nous comptions pour 2 pers en aout/sep donc hors saison et le budget à été respecté chambre prix moyen : 12€ 3 repas/jour : 8 à 10€ Boissons : 3 à 5€/jour
Te voilà donc à 25€ / jour + deplacement et vol pour deux.

Coté paysages insolites et plages vous ne serez pas déçu car il y a de tout mm des volcans 🤪

merci bcp pour ce long msg plein de conseils et de bonnes idées. moi j'étais un peu parti sur l'indonésie sur conseils de copains mais pourquoi pas les philippines. je pars cette année avec mon petit frère (19 ans) qui voyage pour la première fois. je voudrais donc savoir si tu peux me conseiller sur les choses à ne pas faire, les endroits à éviter, si l'on s'y sent en sécurité.
pour la bière je ne pense pas passer tout notre budget dedans, ce n'est pas le but, mais il faut aussi penser à se détendre un peu!😉
pour le confort, effectivement on ne compte pas sur le grand luxe avec ce budget, ça ne nous gêne pas d'être un peu "à l'arrache" si nécessaire. je suis un peu surpris par d'autres messages qui trouvaient que 1200 euros étaient ridicules, car j'ai passé 40 jours au costa rica (plus cher) et j'ai dépensé 1500 euros billet compris.

Je ne sais pas trop ou tu veux aller en Asie, personnellement je suis partie plusieurs fois en Thaïlande avec un petit budget, un peu comme le tien avec la peur de pas pouvoir faire tout ce que je voulais, mais en fin de compte tout c'est tres bien passé a condition de se serrer la ceinture et de ne pas etre trop gourmand bien entendue.
Surtout si tu pars avec ton frere tu peu diviser les chambres par 2, voir certaines activitées..
Pour exemple :
Logement Guesthouse de 80 a 500 bath.. selon ou tu va, ya meme des tres tres bon bungalow au bord de plage pour 170bath en lit double.
Pour la nourriture tu peu compter entre 20 a 50 par personne et par jour, sauf bien sur si tu va en resto ou autre MCdo ...
Le plus chere reste les transports, si tu veux voir du pays il te faudra emprunter pas mal de bus, train voir avion pour les long trajet mais je pense, vu ton budget que tu n'envisage pas cette otpion.
De souvenir, le train reste le plus abordable, et certain bus aussi ( faire atention a la compagnie )

c'est une île super cool
pour ce qui est d'en garder un bon souvenir(pour le fréro), il faut voir le style que vous aimez, y a le côté touristique (à fond) et le côté cool, à mon avis la Thailande ne s'apprécie pas totalement par un seul voyage, mais personnellment que ce soit le nord ou le sud j'adooooore
ma préferée c'est Chiang Mai, mais j'aime aussi phuket, des plages superbes, en fuinant y a encore des coins tranquils
pour ce qui est des sous sous, ça me semble juste, à cause du billet d'avion, il est certainement possible de le faire avec votre budget mais sans grands extras 🤪,
le mieux est de manger aux charettes, pour moi le meilleur et le moins cher, ou alors je ne sais pas comment le définir, ce ne sont pas vraiment des restos, ce sont des endroits dans les maisons où ils font a manger et où c'est excellent et pas cher et surtout typique

Ok fallait le savoir, mais au vu de ton profil ça laisser entendre que tu partirais de la Polynésie ça change tout là, un très bon plan pour économiser de l'argent sur ton vol regarde le comparateur des billets d'avion sur la page d'accueil de VF à droite de cette page, là tu fais une simulation aux dates que tu veux partir mais tapes Londres Bangkok tu as des vols à 450 € et selon d'où tu es en France tu as des vols low cost avec Raynair pour Londres à 40 € même moins si tu réserves à l'avance, attention Raynair ne pars pas de Paris mais de province voir sur leur site et chercher la ville là plus proche de chez toi, je connais pas tes dates mais ça vaut le coup car moins cher en partant de Londres . 😉

Marrant que personne ne pense au Vietnam-en fait, je pense que c'est le plus beau de l'Asie du Sud Est, surtout le Nord Ouest) pays magnifique s'il en est, et pas cher du tout vu que le tourisme balbutie: a Hanoi, je connais un htl en plein ds le Vieux Hanoi a $3 par personne en chbre de 4 lits, $4 en chbre a 2 lits, le tout impeccable avec toilettes et douches exterieures. On mange une soupe delicieuse ds la rue pour $1, les bus publics coutent rien, et les GH a la campagne st a $8-10 pour 2!!!! Si vs faites du trekking et couchez chez l'habitant (tres facile et experience fabuleuse car les locaux st TRES hospitaliers!), c'est $3 pour coucher et $3 pour manger (tres bien en plus!).

I’m currently working on a 30-day itinerary for May/June 2027.
10 days in eastern Java (Malang, Bromo, waterfalls, Meru Beriti Park, Banyuwangi, and Ijen), a short transit in Ubud for a few days, then Flores before heading back to Jakarta.
We’ll spend 15 days in Flores (the classic route: Moni, Bajawa, Riung, Ruteng, ending in Labuan Bajo).
I’d love some firsthand feedback on flights to Maumere or Ende from Bali Denpasar. I know there are no direct routes and that you have to connect through Labuan Bajo or Timor (I think), which isn’t an issue in itself.
But I’ve read here and there that flights to these destinations can be delayed—or worse, canceled—and that it’s better to fly in and out of Labuan Bajo, which isn’t exactly ideal...

I’d love to get some feedback on our itinerary—it’s probably pretty basic! This is our second trip to Asia and our first to Indonesia. We have three kids aged 20, 18, and 12. We land in Jakarta at 4 PM, spend 3 nights/2 days there, then take the train to Yogyakarta for 3 nights/2 days, followed by the train to Surabaya for 2 nights/1 day, then the train to Bromo for 1 day/1 night, a private driver to Ijen for 2 nights/2 days, then on to Bali (Ubud) for 4 nights/3 days, followed by Gili Air for 3 nights/2 days, Senggigi (Lombok) for 2 nights, and finally 5 nights in Kuta. I’m considering cutting the 2 nights in Senggigi to just keep Kuta and extend it to 7 nights. In Lombok, I’m not sure how to get around since I’m not comfortable with scooters... Your thoughts on all of this, and any advice, are more than welcome—don’t hesitate!
For those wondering why cities like Jakarta and Surabaya: we don’t often get the chance to visit big Asian cities, so we wanted to include that discovery in our trip. The trains between Jakarta and Yogyakarta, Surabaya and Probolinggo are booked. The return flight from Lombok to Jakarta is also set. Accommodations are booked but flexible (same for the trains).

I didn’t plan to return to Thailand this year, but my health conditions mean it’ll be the best place for me to stay between two trips to India. The tourism setup there is so well-organized that it’s the most "comfortable" country for a short visit. Thailand feels too sanitized for my taste, and there’s too much religion, Buddha, and the King, but it’s still the best option given how my health has been evolving. I’d considered two weeks in ThaTon for hiking, but I got too sick from the burn-offs during my trips to the mountains around Chiang Rai. So I’m not sure where to go this year. Definitely not the sea, touristy spots, or the mountains with burn-offs...

In 1996, we crossed Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi by motorbike—Minsk bikes we bought in Saigon. I haven’t been back since, and it seems like a lot has changed.
- We’re heading to the south (well, the north and center) with the family in July-August (3 people).
- Is the road network more developed now? Back then, there was only National Route 1 from south to north. I’m thinking of renting a car this time (no motorbike with the family—though in ’96, they had a Jawa sidecar for sale, and we hesitated… maybe it’s for the best).
- Is Halong Bay really something to avoid because of overtourism? Even back then, it was pretty crowded. Is there a less touristy alternative?
- We’ll be traveling from Hanoi down to Danang (the only city we didn’t stop in back in ’96). Even though it’s a bit overhyped in a Chinese-tourist kind of way (from what I’ve read), we’re only going for the beach—pure relaxation for 7 days. The beaches are stunning, and I know the South China Sea is warm like coffee.
- Then, we’ll visit Hoi An, where I stopped in ’96. It was already popular with backpackers back then, but no glowing boats or all the touristy fuss!
- After that, Hue, where I have great memories—it’s a beautiful city.
- And also the nature around Ninh Binh, followed by 2-3 days in Hanoi.
That’s the plan. I’d love to hear any tips to avoid mass tourism, and if anyone’s done this before:
- Is it possible to rent a car in Danang and drop it off in Hanoi?

Last year, we did Malaysia (KL and the mainland + around Kuching).
Day 1 – Arrive in Kota Kinabalu early, stroll around town and hit the must-sees.
Day 2 – Excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, snorkeling at 3 islands.
Day 3 – Hike around Mount Kinabalu without summiting (450 per person, no way).
Day 4 – Poring Hot Springs + evening flight to Sandakan.
Day 5-6-7 – Kinabatangan River (still looking for the right guide).
Day 8 – Sepilok for the orangutans, the Sun Bear Centre, and Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Day 9 – Selingan, turtle island.
Day 10 – Head to Semporna.
Day 11-12-13-14 – Sipadan, Mabul, Kapalai.
Day 15 – Bohey Dulang.
Day 16 to Day 25: I’M STUCK.
I looked into Danum Valley, but for 3 days/2 nights, they’re quoting 650 € per person—come on, that’s ridiculous.
I checked out a detour into Indonesia (still East Borneo), but I’m having trouble deciding what would be amazing.
I read about Sangalaki + Kakaban (2 islands, 1 base) / Mahakam Delta - Kutai (orangutans and river) / Sungai Boh (Dayak Kayan) – jungle & culture.
But honestly, I’m struggling to finalize this itinerary.
If we venture that way, we’d head back to KK from Balikpapan.
For a 4-month stay in Egypt, I had ENORMOUS problems. The regulations are very bureaucratic and extremely nitpicky there. For a 4-month stay in the Philippines, I was wondering if the procedures are just as complicated? I’m bringing my cell phone with an eSIM. Should I choose a plan from Canada for use in the Philippines, or should I get a plan only once I arrive? After 30 days, do I renew with the Canadian provider I chose before leaving, or do I switch to a local company? Do I need to register my phone with the authorities in the Philippines? (That was the case in Egypt.) For the 3rd and 4th months, will it be just as simple—renewing with a Canadian or local provider—or should I expect problems?

We like to decide things on the spot and go with the flow, without rushing everywhere. But I’m still a bit unsure: when heading down to the center (Hue), is it better to book the overnight trains in advance? We don’t want to take any flights while we’re there—just use the overnight train for the long trips. But I’m worried we won’t get seats if we buy the tickets on the spot, say, 2 days before. My trip’s coming up, and I’m having a bit of trouble with three bus/minivan routes. Usually, I find everything at this time of year, but this time—yikes!
Sandakan → Sepilok:
No app for this one—you just hop on bus #14 at the local terminal (pay cash on board). But where do I catch it, and where’s the stop??

From what I’ve heard, it’s the Sida Express company (great name, right? 😄).
Can’t book online, but apparently, you *have* to because there’s only one bus at 8 AM.
Where do I board, and where does it drop me off?
