Bonjour, je partirai au Pérou en février 2010. Nous somme 4 femmes, dont 3 font de la haute tension artérielle. La tension est controlée avec prise de médicaments mais j'aimerais savoir si quelqu'un a eu des problèmes reliés ou quelqu'un qui est allé au Pérou et qui faisait aussi de la tension artérielle.
Est ce que c'est plus a risque ?? Est ce que l'altitude est un problème.
Comment vous sentiez vous et est ce que c'est risqué.
Mon épouse fait de l'hyper tension et a même eu un problème cardiaque (spasme) cela ne nous a pas empéché de passer trois semaines au Pérou, passer un col à 5 000. Ensuite nous avons grimpé le Kilimandjaro sans souci. Le tout après avoir pris les conseils de son cardiologue.
Et bien, merci Gérard, c'est encourageant, donc je ne devrais pas me faire de souci du tout. Où étiez vous à 5000 m d'altitude, c'est haut en titi ca !!!
Je sais que le lac Titicaca est à 3600 m d'altitude, ce qui est déja tres haut.
Nous avions fait un trek pour rejoindre le Machu Pichu par le Salkantay, le col était à 4 900. Nous avions aussi passé un col à 4 800 je crois pour faire le canyon de la Colca près d'Aréquipa.
Sur le lac Titicaca, nous avions dormi sur l'île d'Amantani, un peu touristique, mais une superbe expérience chez l'habitant.
Bonjour, ne pas se faire trop de soucis, jusqu'a 3000 mètres cela se passe presque normalement, au dessus je n'ai pas controlé ma tension,
mais de toute facon on ne passe qu'une partie de la journée a cette altitude et on redescend a l'hotel pour la nuit.
Pour info j'ai 67 ans, et ma tension avec médicament est de 13/7 a 14/7 au niveau de la mer et monte a 16 ou 18/8 en altitude.
Tout rentre dans l'ordre au retour.

Je suis avec les médicaments a 118/75 ce qui est très bon.

de 11 / 6 se qui est très bon, et pour les hommes l'idéal serait 13 / 7 mais avec l'age cela est toujours un peu supérieur. Tant que le docteur
ne nous interdit pas de prendre l'avion tout va bien!

Disons que de passer de Lima à Cuzco sans transition, ça fait tout de même un peu un choc mais franchement, ça vaut le coup d'être un peu essoufflé. Demande conseil à ton médecin avant le départ, il adaptera le traitement ou le dosage en fonction.

de l'hypertension.Chez moi cela semble etre d'origine nerveuse, donc le décalage horaire, l'excitation du voyage etc... doivent influer.
Je prends ma tension tous les matins avec un appareil fiable (brassard).Mais il n'y a pas d'interdiction, vous pouvez aller au Pérou en
toute quiétude, demandez un médicament spécifique a votre médecin a utiliser en cas de besoin.Mais si vous avez des problèmes
d'hypertension équipez vous d'un appareil de controle, cela permet de savoir ou l'on en est et cela tranquillise.

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...
