Que voir et faire à Djerba en Tunisie au mois de juin?

Je reviens d'une semaine de vac a djerba. C'est une petite ile mais y a pleins de choses a faire . Nous on a fait les marchés de Sediouikech (tout petit marché, on a vu aucun touriste le jour ou nous sommes allés, alors y a des affaires a faire), le marché de Midoun (tres connu, tres touristique mais sympas a faire, faut marchander a mort et a la fin du marché vers 12 - 13 h ils bradent les prix !!), le marché de Houm souk ( le plus touristique... donc un peu étouffant mais ca c'est mon avis perso). allez vous dans un hotel ? car dans ce cas ils proposent des excursions, nous nous sommes parti 2 jours dans le desert et on a fait du quad dans les palmeraies et sur la lagune de Djerba. Genial !! ( nous étions a l'hotel Telemaque) Pour le reste, comme faire les marchés ou des soins hammans, massage... faut aller part ses propres moyens car proposé par l'hotel c'est bcp plus chère. nous on c'est débrouillé, trouver des bon plans sans souci. et vraiment pas decut.

Je pars la semaine prochaine pour le sofitel djerba et n'ai pas souhaité prendre la demi pension et la thalasso et me débrouiller sur place.

Y en a pleins d'autres....(12 cures differente, aux huiles, classique etc..)
voilà ca te donne un appercu des prix.. Le mieux c'est d'y aller des ton arrivée pour prendre leur brochure qui detail tous les soins les cures, epilation, coiffure etc comme ca tu pourras comparer avec les tarifs de ton hotel. ( nous a notre hotel c'etait 2 fois voir 3 fois plus chère !! et pas de bonne reputation par ceux que l'on a rencontré a l'hotel et qui avait pris des forfait dès le premier jour)
Nous nous y avons ete le dernier jour du sejour au Relax center et on regrete car si on avait su comment c'etait on aurai profiter plus des soins.
On est venu nous rechecher a l'hotel (gratuitement) en voiture particulière. Au programme, hammam, gommage et envellopement ( 26 dt, 16 euro): hamman (mixte) au moins 30 mm serviettes fournies, puis gommage, ensuite envellopement au algues, puis de retour dans le hamman au moins 30 mm. Apres une bonne douche et une serviette propre nous nos sommes retrouvé dans un petit salon a boire le thé a la menthe en de détendant dans de grand fauteuil en serviette. c'etait cool. Le personnel est tres sympas. On a pris des photos en souvenir...

Nous serons à l'hôtel Abir à Midoun. Quels jours a lieu le marché à Midoun et où se déroule t'il ?
Je crains un peu le comportement envahissants des locaux (sans que cela soit péjoratif) dans les souks notamment, comment cela s'est il passé pour vous ?
Dites m'en un peu plus sur vos sorties en quad svp ?

Il y a pleins de choses sympa à faire à Djerba mais tout depend de l'état d'esprit.... Je connais un guide sur place qui pourra vous proposer des tas de choses à des prix très compétitifs.
Nous au départ on était pas trop rassurée et puis un ami à moi qui travaille à Midoun nous l'a recommandé. Je n'ai plus ses coordonnées mais mon ami pourra vous mettre en contact avec lui.
On a pu faire des tas de visites pas cheres, avec taxi réservé pour nous devant notre hôtel, bref la classe... on a vraiment eu l'impression d'être des privilégiés! on a fait du quad, le bateau pirate sur l'ile au flamands roses (a faire meme si ca fait tres touriste de base), le tour de l'île, les souks, le desert etc....
Si ca vous interesse je vous donnerai les coordonnées de mon ami.

Le jour de marché a Midoun c'est le jeudi apres midi et le vendredi matin. Tu prend un taxi qui t'emmène a l'entrée du marché et pour repartir tu veras y a pleins de taxi partout. Nous on était 2 filles alors ca drague bcp mais toujours dans l'humour et le sourire et pas d'agressivité, idem si tu regarde leur boutique, faut toujours rentrer voir, sinon tu dit que tu es deja venu l'autre jour et que tu regarde juste car tu connais, ou que tu as deja acheter... Mais nous on a bien aimé discuter avec les gens dans les boutiques, avons bu bcp de thé vert. c'etait sympas. Pour le quad c'etait organisé par l'hotel mais avec un magasin de quad a l'exterieur. 40 dt les 1h30, , tres sympas. mais je connais pas le nom de la boutique qui organise les sorties en quad.

Ce que vous pouvez faire, c'est aller au souk de houmt souk et celui de midoun, faire les marchés, vous avez la possibilité de faire un tour de l'ile en petit train qui passe vous chercher a votre hotel, je me souviens qu'on avait été visiter le village de guellala, village potier de l'ile ou s'est très intéressant de voir les hommes faire leurs poteries artisanalement. djerba est une petite ile..
Mais tu prend les taxis (tu en trouve partout !! ) et ils te diront les dates des jours de marché ( c'est sympas a faire, et pour les bonnes affaires attendre la fin du marché comme chez nous !! ). ils peuvent aussi de déposer dans des endroits tres jolis (faut négocier le temps d'attende, mais ca le fait sans souci).
sinon faire du quad dans les palmeraies et jusqu'a la lagune de djerba au couché du soleil c'est super sympas a faire, pour infos 1h30 de quad = 40 dinard. je n'ai plus le nom de la boutique ou on avait reservé mais tu trouve facilement avec les taxis qui connaissent l'ile par coeur.

This autumn’s trip should be in Morocco—barring any geopolitical issues between now and then.
After many trips to the south of Fès, I’m giving the north a try.
My plan is roughly to do a road trip loop from Rabat back to Rabat, passing through Asilah, Tangier, Tétouan, Chefchaouen, Akchour, Fès, Meknès, and Volubilis.
That’s a lot of cities. Probably a bit too many for our taste—we usually prefer more isolated spots...
So I’m looking for tips on little backroads, secluded beaches, half-day hikes, and offbeat places.
If you’ve also got recommendations for accommodation... (We’re open to splurging over 100 € if it’s a real favorite.)
Feel free to think outside the box—this is an open-ended plan! !😉

I’m planning to go back myself soon to reconnect with my roots... before I pass away...
I’ve started making a few pre-bookings for hotels and apartments to rent in Algiers. At first, I received friendly and welcoming responses. Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...
Anyone here who can share their experience of returning? I specified “recently” because it seems that right now, diplomatic relations between the two governments are extremely tense, not to say hostile... even if Macron claims otherwise...

I’m traveling to Algeria from October 27 to November 16, 2026.
I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through the process about the accommodation attestation required for the visa application:
- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency. If you have any contacts you’d recommend, I’d be grateful!

I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Even though I come to Morocco four times a year, it’s been a long time since I’ve made the trip by car. I need to refresh my knowledge! I’ll be traveling in early October. I have a car that’s about 20 years old. The plan is to cross via Algeciras/Ceuta.
A few questions:
1) Does this crossing still exist? If so, do I need to buy the ticket in advance or on the spot? From whom? Any advice is welcome!
2) What documents are required for the car?
3) If anyone is making the trip around the same time, it could be fun to drive together 😊

Just so you know, I’m planning to do this trip solo (25 years old), using only public transport and just a backpack. I’ve already been to Marrakech and climbed Mount Toubkal two years ago...
I’ll be arriving in Tangier. Day 1-2: Explore the city center, hike around Cap Spartel... Day 3: Stop in Tetouan Day 4-5-6: Chefchaouen and a day hike in the Rif Mountains Day 6-7: Discover the city of Fes (I’ve heard so many great things!!) Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad) After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF). Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

Tickets for entry to Majorelle Garden are only issued online via an official site
(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

I aimed for an excursion to the Chigaga desert from M’Hamid because it seems less touristy and allows for a more compact loop. Is that a good idea? Is the drive to M’Hamid maybe too tedious?

In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

is it advisable to take a taxi at the airport (cost?) or is it wiser to book one through the hotel before departure (which would cost me 20 €)?

For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.
