quel est le "meilleur" visa à demander pour des entrées/sorties multiples de ce type?
sachant que 2 mois est une approximation et non une durée fixe

j'ai eu le consulat au téléphone et rien ne correspond... c'est quand meme con!
il y a le double entrée à 60euros mais on ne peut sortir et rentrer qu'une fois... et en plus, j'ai un autre souci, nous n'avons que le vol aller et pas de retour puisqu' apres, on va en australie (vols non réservés)...
le consulat m'a dit qu'il fallait des billets de sortie sauf qu'on va au cambodge par la route... c'est d'un simple!!!
il faut peut être qu'on prenne l'exemption de visa d'un mois, histoire de passer 15 jours en thailande puis d'aller au cambodge/laos puis revenir vers la thailande pour max 15 jours (puisque par route) et à ce moment là acheter les billets pour la birmanie (aller retour) et surtout celui pour l'Australie, sinon ça ferait encore une entrée en thailande sans sortie fixe...
ce qui me fait peur, c'est que la cie aérienne peut ne pas vouloir un billet aller simple au début, meme si on explique qu'on sort par la route...
peut être qu'il faut que je réserve les bus de sortie vers le cambodge mais ça me saoule car je ne connais pas encore les dates!!

il vous faut imperativement un visa (une entré) est sufisant,

oui visiblement sans billet... c'est le seul moyen apparemment. On peut prendre le double entrée, ce qui nous permettra d'aller au cambodge au moins.
Pour la birmanie, si on se décide à y aller, il faudra le faire et enchainer direct avec le départ pour l'Australie..à nous de trouver des billets arrivée thailande/départ australie le meme jour!
j'ai aussi eu l'ambassade de paris au tél, mais ça n'était toujours pas clair...
sinon l'autre idée que m'avait dév le monsieur du consulat de marseille, c'est de prendre notre billet pour l'Australie 2 mois après l'arrivée à bkk, ce qui justifie notre départ et donc pas besoin de visa (mais ça me semble bizarre puisque j'ai lu que c'était 1 mois l'extension de visa)..
bref, ils sont speeds au téléphone et ne prennent pas le temps de tout écouter, du coup je suis toujours paumée... à retravailler donc!

Pquoi faire compliquer qd tous est si simple pr nous autres europeens..car on a la chance d aller ds pas mal de pays sans avoir son visa a l avance et c est un privilege qui n est pas partage par tous.
Revenons a votre cas....vous pouvez passez par exemple 29j en thaillande allez au cambodge par la route pour une 20aine de jours puis encore 14j en thaillande en repassant la frontiere ds l autre sens.
Votre seul souci serait alors de pouvoir justifez que vs sortirez ds les 30j de votre exemption de visa....le plus simple ds ce cas serait de prendre un billet low cost pr - 30 que cs n utiliserez pas.
oui ce qui m'embête c'est bien de devoir prendre un billet qui ne me servira à rien, juste parce qu'on est 4 et que 4fois quelques euros, ça monte vite😉
j'aurais bien aimé faire simple! franchement je ne pensais pas qu'il fallait un billet de retour sachant justement que plein de billets sont pipeau. soit on respecte les règles et on sort du pays par la route et quand on revient, on a un billet pour un autre pays. Ou encore on a le droit de rentrer deux fois en thailande parce qu'on a envie de visiter un pays à l'est et un à l'ouest... soit on ne respecte pas les règles, et on est un "fraudeur", et on prend des faux billets alors qu'on reste en thailande plus d'un mois et on paye de l'overstay ensuite. Ce n'est pas mon cas!

Effectivement il ný a aucun probleme avec les douanes, seuls les compagnies aeriennes posent problemes. Tu devrais essayer de les contacter.
1 fois j ai eu des problemes a l embarquement avec la compagnie (eva air). Celle ci má fait prendre une reservation(gratuite!) sur un vol retour le jour de mon arrivee a Bangkok au cas ou on me refuserait l entree du pays. Bien entendu, aucun probleme avec les douanes.

Tu peux prendre un visa touristique avant de partir, c'est 60 jours.
Puisque tu vas rester 15 jours en Thailande et pour ne pas perdre le benefice de ton visa touristique, pendant les 15 jours ou tu es en Thailande il te faut aller a l'immigration et tu demandes un visa reentry (une entree) pour 1000 baht.
Comme ca quand tu reviens du Cambodge, ton visa reentry est active et te donne l'autorisation de rester en Thailande jusqu'a la date initiale qui a ete donnee quand tu es arrive la premiere fois.
Ex: tu arrives le 1 aout avec un visa touristique, autorisation de rester jusqu'au 29 septembre.
Tu y restes qu'au 15 aout, tu t'en vas au Cambodge, tu reviens en Thailande le 10 septembre et a la frontiere on te remet le tampon jusqu'au 29 septembre.
Tu t'en vas en Birmanie et quand tu reviens par avion, tu auras 30 jours en Thailande.

je prends le train en marche, mais pour faire clair, je reviens de 4 mois de bourlingue entre le Cambodge, la Thailande et le Vietnam. Pas besoin de visa pour la Thailande, t'as 30 jours d'office en arrivant par avion. Ensuite pour le Cambodge aucun probleme, à l'aeroport visa d'office pour 25 USD, les postes frontieres terrestres delivrent aussi des visas pour 25 USD pour une durée d'un mois renouvelable trés facilement à l'immigration (aeroport de Phnompenh) pour 40 ou 50 dollars. Pour passer de Thailande au Cambodge par bus, le plus pratique depuis bangkok c'est de passer par Poipet, sinon avion Air Asia,
Bangkok/Phnompenh à 80 euros. Pour la Birmanie je sais pas, je me renseigne également, j'y vais dans 4 ou 5 semaines.
Nous revenons d'un voyage de 4 mois en Asie du Sud est (départ en novembre 2011). Nous avons atterri à Chiang Mai avec escale à Singapour. Nous avons ensuite uniquement pris des bus (sauf pour la Birmanie).
Nous avons découvert la veille de notre départ que la compagnie aérienne exigeait une preuve de sortie du territoire thai dans le mois afin de nous laisser embarquer... Nous avions aussi entendu parlé de la solution de prendre un visa avant de partir mais nous étions complètement hors délais.
On a ensuite pensé réserver une auberge de jeunesse au laos, mais la compagnie aérienne nous a dit que ce n'était pas suffisant.
Nous avons finalement pris un billet Air Asia pour la destination la moins cher qu'on ait trouvé au départ d'un aéroport thai.
Pour finir, nous avons pris l'avion à Amsterdam : on ne nous a rien demandé - On a re-pris l'avions à Singapour : on ne nous a rien demandé - On a passé l'immigration en Thailande : on ne nous a rien demandé !
Bon, ça vaut ce que ça vaut, mais c'est notre expérience, on a peut être eu de la chance. Je ne sais pas si à refaire je tenterais le diable ou pas mais je dois dire que sur le moment on était vachement frustrés ! :-)
Sinon, je ne prendrais pas de visa a entrées multiples non plus, les visas étant gratuits pour la Thailande, ca ne servirait à rien et il faudra de toute facon faire la loooooooooonngue file de la frontière Cambodge-Thailande.
Je ne sais pas si tu comptes faire les visas pour la Birmanie à l'avance, mais si non, voici une autre petite info. Nous pensions faire nos visas à l'ambassade de Phnom Penh et là ils imposaient un délais de 10 jours ! (sans possibilité de payer pour accélérer les choses). Par contre à Bangkok, les délais sont tout à fait raisonnables et en payant un tout petit peu en plus on l'a même pendant la journée... Il faut évidemment se faire la longue file d'attente, mais vous l'aurez compris, c'est relativement courant dans le coin.
La seule info interessante de votre temoignage aurait etr de donner le nom de votre Cie aerienne qui nous vous a pas demandé de justif de continuité ou de visa a l embarquement....

On reste une quinzaine de jours en thailande, puis laos, cambodge et en revenant en thailande par les voies terrestres, on fera gaffe de ne pas dépasser les 15 jours autorisés avant notre vol pour l'Australie

The flight I’ve spotted: arrival at BKK and return to France 31 days later.
With the new regulations/visa:
"Starting September 15, 2026, French nationals holding an ordinary passport will be able to stay in Thailand visa-free for up to 30 days for tourism purposes only, down from the previous 60 days."
How do you think the counting is done?

I’m planning a trip from France to Alberta/British Columbia, and I’m unsure about which bank card to use for the security deposit with the rental company (I’m thinking of going with AVIS).
I contacted Avis Canada, and they told me a credit card is absolutely required. I asked my bank for a credit card (a *real* credit card), but they only offered me a deferred debit card.
My question: For a rental with Avis Canada, is a Gold International Mastercard deferred debit card usable for the security deposit needed to finalize the rental? Is the "CREDIT" label enough? (Some cards say "CREDIT" and others say "CARTE DE CREDIT"—seems minor, but it’s actually a big deal in how the card works.)
I’ve seen conflicting info everywhere I look... My bank says it’s *usually* okay (the deferred debit card), while Avis Canada insists it *must* be a credit card, not debit—even when I mention the deferred debit card.
I know the whole credit card concept is already confusing, and on top of that, some sites say a deferred debit card counts as a credit card, while others say it doesn’t.

I’ll explain my situation.
Unfortunately, I lost my passport, and I only realized it two weeks before my departure for a humanitarian mission in Libya. I’m a nurse, and this mission really means a lot to me.
First, I applied for an emergency passport, but it was denied by the Val-d'Oise prefecture on the grounds that a planned humanitarian mission wasn’t considered an urgent reason.
So, I submitted a biometric passport application on July 20th. Since then, the tracking has been stuck, and the town hall can’t (or won’t) give me any clear information. Every time I call, I get a different story. The last update I received was that the passport had been produced since July 23rd with a status of "about to be shipped," but nothing since then.
I’ve managed to push my departure back to next Tuesday at the latest, but I’m starting to really panic.
Have any of you submitted an application around July 20th, especially in Val-d'Oise (95)? How long did you wait between the passport being produced and it being available at the town hall? Is it normal for this step to take this long?
This mission means so much to me. I had everything organized, and I’m also supposed to attend a friend’s wedding right after near the border.

I’m a bit embarrassed because I need to travel to Quebec from February 27th to March 13th. I’m a regular visitor to Canada—this will be my 10th trip since 1997, plus a year as a permanent resident (2000–2001) and a cross-country run from Vancouver to Halifax in 2011. So, I’m definitely not a terrorist!
But since our last trip in July 2015, they’ve introduced this eTA thing. Seems more like a way to make money than to actually secure Canada, if you ask me, but anyway, that’s not the point.
I applied for an eTA for myself, my wife, and our two kids. They all got approved within hours, but not me! I was asked to create a GC key and then an IRCC account, which I did. Normally, you get news within 72 hours, but since Monday, January 15th, nothing!
In the "message" section of the account, it says "explanation letter (required)" with a deadline of January 25th, but I can’t find any explanation anywhere—despite searching the Canadian government website and Google. No links, nothing!
I’ve emailed them but haven’t heard back yet. I’m thinking of calling the Canadian embassy in Paris tomorrow. Even though I’m not stressing yet, it’d be a bummer if everyone else got to go without me!
If anyone’s had this issue before or knows what this explanation letter is about, I’d love to hear more.

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.
