Je cherche à réserver une chambre d'hôtel en Egypte. Selon les sites de résa (booking, hoteltravel.... et bien d'autres), les prix varient de manière significative. Pourquoi ?
Quelqu'un a-t-il testé ce moyen de résa. ? Pour quel hôtel ?
le fonctionnement habituel de ces sites marchands de chambre d'hotels est :
1 contrat annuel avec des prix préférentiels pour un nombre limité de chambres à vente en permanence sur leurs sites( pour cette raison, tu vois soivent dernière chambre à ce prix ...)
certains sites remettent régulièrement a jour toutes leurs typologies de chambres et leurs tarifs en recontactant les hoteliers pour renégocier des chambres additionelles ou remettre a jour les prix en fonction des promo et remplissage des hoteliers .
par ex pour le moment l'egypte est désespérément vide, les hoteliers bradent leurs prix ...
dertains sites suivent et réimpactent leur mises à jours pour etre concurentiels, d'autre non !! de là la difference significative !
de toute facon, il faut mettre en parallele et en concurence tous ces sites pour prendre ta résa au plus offrant ...
j'ai personnellement régulèrement utilisé booking.com avec satisfaction au niveau de la fiabilité de systeme, info sur l'hotel ( situation, prestation , qualité ...)
mais vais aussi régulièrement sur des sites comparateurs de prix tels que www.hotelscombined.com par qui eux se chargent de mettre en compétition ces memes sites cités plus hauts par toi et d'autres pour un meme hotel a la meme période ...
car justement comme expliqué plus tot , tous les sites n'auront pas les memes dispo en chambre en promo ni en typologie de chambre, ni en typologie de serivce et donc en mode de tarification
= certains sites ou hotels proposent differents package avec la chambre = par ex petit déj en plus , demi pension ou all in selon le type d'hotel pour des différences de prix parfois tres avantageuses et à tenir compte au moment du choix final
ce site comparatur mets en parallele justement les différentes options pour les memes hotels a meme période selon les sites venderus comparés et simplifie nettement ton choix ...
maintenant pour l'Egypte, rien ne t'empeche une fois le choix effectué et le prix vu en info sur les sitesm archands de contacter l'hotel toi meme et demander un tarif encore plus concurentiel, compte tenu que les hotels sont vides et que via ces sites vendeurs ils vont devoir laisser une commission importante au marchand intermédiaire ...
de l'ordre de 5 à 20% ...
ils préféreront peut etre certains te vendre en direct la chambre à moins chere encore que le site vendeur mais avoir l'intégrité du prix payés pour eux en direct et sans commission a reverser !!

Je réserve en direct dans des hôtels (égyptiens) ou location de villa à Louxor parce que je souhaite faire travailler les égyptiens en priorité. Par contre, j'ai un peu plus de mal sur Aswan que je connais un peu moins. J'ai envoyé des mails au Keylani (à toutes les adresses que j'ai) restés sans réponses. Du coup je m'oriente vers les pyramisa isis, plus chers, plus "toutou" mais avec piscine pour nous aider à supporter la chaleur !
Peut-être as-tu un ou des hôtels à me conseiller.

je ne sais plus trop quand tu compte venir en egypte, mais compte tenu que le tourisme sur le nil est actuellement de moins 80 à 90% ... tu ne risques pas d'avoir de problème de disponibilité de logement ni sur louxor, ni sur assouan !
pour les appartements sur louxor, je te conseillerais de ne réserver qu'une premiere nuit, et de voir ensuite sur place si tu es vraiement au meilleur endroit géographiquement par rapport a ton mode de vacances ( programme visites, centre ville ...) tu pourras changer plus facillement si tu n'as pas d'engagement,
attention beaucoup d'appart sont en fait propriété d'étrangers !! pas top pour faire travailler les locaux !
nombreux petits hotels avec piscine , et prix tres concurentiels , surtout maintenant !!
pour assouan , j'ai entendu aprler du keilani, mais idem louxor tu pourras probablement appeler de ton arrivée en egypte pour reserver ...
si tu veux un hotel avec piscine, je te recommande bien plus le BASMA que les pyramisas isis ...perso , je le trouve mieux placé, car acces a pied et pas de bateau navette a attendre qui te font perdre un temps precieux !
moins pretentieux en terme etoiles et prix .. .. et superbe piscine et vue sur le nil !
pour le moment, ils sont plus que vide et cassent les prix , je suis certaine que tu trouveras des prix super interessant sur internet ou en les contactant en direct !

Then, when I mentioned I wanted to stay for two or three weeks—maybe even a month—explaining that my trip wouldn’t be strictly touristy but more of a pilgrimage to the places of my childhood, and that it would likely be a very emotional journey, I expected a positive and warm reaction to my approach. Instead, I suddenly stopped getting replies from the three or four people I’d contacted. So now I’m wondering about the reception former Pieds-Noirs can expect...

- Does it need to cover the entire duration of the trip?
- Is this document mandatory for a hotel to rent a room?
- Is it checked during inspections?
- Is a hotel booking (e.g., via Booking.com) sufficient for the visa?
- If so, does it need to be paid in advance?
I plan to visit several cities and do one or more treks with a guide or agency.

I’d like to do a route that’s a bit different from my first stay, which was more focused on cities and culture (Tunis, Sousse, Kairouan, El Jem).
I’ll be getting around by public transport.
I’d like to head south toward Tozeur, and I saw that you can take a *louage* from Monastir to Sbeitla (2h30). I imagine it’s not too complicated to get to Tozeur from there afterward? The issue is the return trip to Monastir and safety in Sbeitla.
If this route seems too complicated, I might opt for Djerba instead, which looks simpler.

Day 8: Stop in Meknes and possibly visit the historic site of Volubilis
Day 9-10: Rabat (I’ve heard mixed things... some good, some bad)
After that, I have the choice of heading back to Tangier for my return flight... or going down to Agadir (also a possible return flight) and extending my trip by 5 days :)
From what I can tell, everything is well connected by bus (CTM) or train (ONCF).
Another question: Is the vibe in Moroccan youth hostels for meeting people the same as what you’d find in Western Europe?

(though there are fraudulent sites out there). On the official site, they ask for legitimate info
(name, nationality, etc.). What made me go "hmm" was the request for both an email address
AND a password (with confirmation). Is this normal?

A lot of people find it important to stick to their budget when traveling—not to skimp, but to visit as many places as possible since traveling is their hobby.
In this post, I want to share some tips for those coming to Morocco who want their trip to be budget-friendly.
1. Prebook everything: hotels or riads, car rentals, or tours. If you book these in advance, it’ll make your life easier. You won’t have to deal with hagglers or people trying to overcharge you for services that are available online for free. Use platforms like Booking, Expedia, carsrental.ma, Airbnb, and other booking services to get this done properly.
2. Exchange your money to Moroccan dirhams as soon as you land. 1 € is always a little over 10 dirhams, but many people get charged as if it were exactly 10 dirhams per euro.
3. When visiting an old site or the old medina, avoid talking to vendors and shop owners—they’re really good at getting your attention and making you overpay for things.
4. Ask your tour guide to buy things for you. Yes, they do get a commission, but you’ll probably pay way more if you buy something yourself that they can get cheaply.
5. Walk everywhere. You don’t need a taxi for every little trip. Pick a good location and walk—most Moroccan cities are safe during normal hours.
6. Buy your food, drinks, etc., from supermarkets at normal prices. They can’t overcharge you since they scan every product.

I’m planning my next trip outside Europe for next year, but unfortunately, I don’t have a choice with the dates—it’s late June to early July. Last year, I went to Japan for three weeks, and it was constantly 36-37°C with over 90% humidity. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t impossible either.
For Egypt, I know it’s a period to avoid if possible, but I’m thinking that by the sea, it might be manageable. Otherwise, I’ll consider another destination.

Day 5: Hurghada, then drive to Luxor in the early afternoon
Day 6: Luxor
Day 7: Luxor, then drive back to Hurghada in the late afternoon

For the Hurghada trip, either rent a car or—easier—a private car/van.
Is it worth adding an extra day in Luxor?
