Hi, Any suggestions for a traditional Austrian restaurant in Vienna (Austria)? Thanks in advance, Jc

Hi there! As a suggestion, start from Westbahnhof and follow the long avenue, Mariahilfer Strasse—there are some restaurants there. Because otherwise, if you look in the city center, it’s very touristy and prices are likely to be higher.

Thanks Mahews, great idea, Let’s leave tomorrow for 3 days, and it’ll be crowded....

Near Belvedere Palace, the Salm Salm Bräu brewery.

Thanks Sissi57, We’d planned to try this brewery too, but we’re at the end of our stay in Vienna. If it helps anyone else, here are our three experiences with traditional Austrian dining—no reservations needed: 1° Centimeter: there are 3 locations, a bit off the main tourist drag but walkable. Great value for money and a fun vibe. 2° Glacis Beisl: next to one of the Centimeter spots near Maria-Theresien-Platz. A little pricier but gourmet. 3° Café Eiles near City Hall. A café/brewery with good value and Austrian dishes. We got a table for 4 on a Saturday night without booking.
