A quoi faut-il prêter attention ? Comment vos proches ont réagi ? Quel pays choisir ? Existe-t-il un endroit où l'on ne te juge pas uniquement sur la voiture que tu roules, l'installation high-tech que tu viens d'acheter ou la destination de tes vacances ? etc...

Tu es bientôt prêt à t’approprier un rêve qui est tiens! Je te comprend si bien, je suis de Montréal et suis sur le point de quitter en octobre pour vivre au Mexique avec ma fille de 12 ans. J’ai déjà un preneur pour mon appart et mes meubles. Ceci sera ma deuxième expérience. j’ai aussi vécu 4 ans sur l’île de Saint-Thomas ou j’ai appris l’anglais. Je suis entré au bercail en 2000 et veux repartir au plus vite. Comme tu décris si bien ta vie de ville alors ici c’est pareil.
Vivre dans les îles vierges (St-Thomas) fut l’une des plus belles expériences de ma vie. C’est en voyageant que j’ai découvert l’endroit et décidé d’y rester. J’y garde les souvenirs les plus riches de ma vie, sans compter les amis qui me sont toujours aussi chers. Je t’encourage grandement à faire le pas, ça fait très peur d’y penser mais lorsque la décision est prise tous devient plus facile en se retrouvant dans l’action de cette décision. Il est important de se faire confiance à soi et à l’avenir. Je sais que tout est possible, je l’ai vécu.
Les proches ne réagissent pas tous de la même façon, certain on peur pour nous et c’est normal, mais il ne faut pas les laisser nous dresser une barrière face à notre projet. Le futur prouvera que tu as fais le bon choix. Il faut essayer et risquer…
Tu peux toujours revenir chez toi, non? Et puis une job n’est qu’une job ça se crée partout il faut garder confiance. Alors écoute ton feeling et vis ton rêve.

Il faut bien avouer que c'est assez contradictoire notre réaction, je m'explique. Depuis notre plus tendre enfance, l'on nous "rabache" qu'il faut être studieux à l'école car cela te permettra de faire de grandes choses plus tard dans ta vie et d'avoir un bon travail (chose que j'ai faite !!!). J'ai tout ça et pourtant je ne comprends pas pourquoi j'ai envie de tout plaquer ? La crise de la trentaine ? Je ne sais pas mais dans tout les cas j'ai besoin de changement assez rapidement. Toutefois il ne faut pas confondre vitesse et précipitation. En tant que "bon suisse", je me dois d'être préparé minutieusement afin de parer à toute éventualité !!!
Pour l'instant je n'ai pas de destination précise. Je puis constater que d'après ce forum l'Asie et les Caraïbes sont plutôt prisés.
Tout d'abord merci pour ton témoignage, je trouve très aimable de ta part de me faire partager (un temps soit petit peu) ton projet.
Je trouve tout à fait remarquable que tu oses franchir le pas alors que tu as un enfant à "charge", bravo. Je me dis que je suis pitoyable à ne pas l'avoir encore franchi vu que je suis seul.
L'histoire, respectivement la pré-histoire, nous a montré que l'être humain était nomade, dès lors je ne me comprends à hésiter à vouloir bouger ? Est-ce qu'il se complait dans son petit comfort douillet ? Est-ce que le changement est pour lui synomyme de danger ?
Sans vouloir faire un débat "philosophique", peux-tu m'expliquer (si ce n'est pas trop indiscret) qu'est-ce qui arrive à te faire surmonter toutes tes angoisses ou tes craintes dues au départ ?

Comment vas-tu dans tes pensées? Le temps fournit bien des réponses tu sais. Il est important de mariner sur nos idées jusqu'au jour ou un déclique nous apparaît et de là en découle l’inévitable. La peur s’absente alors de plus en plus. Après quelques années d’hésitation et de questionnement, l’évidence pour moi avait surgit. La certitude la plus totale, j’allais enfin partir…
Tout en éduquant ma fille, je garde les paramètres essentiels à ses besoins mais en même temps je lui fais connaître les pays d’ailleurs, les coutumes, les langues et surtout les vraies valeurs humaines. J’ai besoin de quitter l’abondance et me rapprocher de l’essentiel! J’ai dû préparer ma fille à ce départ mais elle est confiante et pense que le meilleur est à venir. Elle a raison… Il faut se concentrer sur sa vision, ce rêve auquel on aspire. La vie d’ici ou ailleurs nous réserve ses lacunes. Il y a des jours si pénibles dans ces changements mais à la fois si riches. Après avoir vécu ailleurs plus d’une fois je crois qu’il est raisonnable de se donner du temps, celui avant le départ et celui en arrivant dans cette nouvelle vie.
Je peux te dire à quel point il est excitant de rebâtir sa vie, il y a là une ouverture immense à laquelle on s’autorise à choisir. Et la peur qui parfois fait acte de présence devient alors une alliée à notre sécurité, faire attention à soi, chez-nous comme ailleurs…
Alors Rêveurs ne fais que garder ton cap en te disant que c’est à chacun son rythme et ton déclique viendra…

Je me réjouis de ce fameux déclique et mon projet mûri de jour en jour. Je collecte une multitude d'informations sur le net, dont ce forum, utiles à la réalisation de ce que je pourrais également appelé "ma nouvelle chance" ou plutot mon "nouveau départ".
Tes phrases telles que "J’ai besoin de quitter l’abondance et me rapprocher de l’essentiel!" ou encore "rebâtir sa vie, il y a là une ouverture immense à laquelle on s’autorise à choisir", c'est que du bohneur. Je trouve là-dedans une serenité certaine. Un jour viendra où ce sera à mon tour de tenir ce genre de propos.
Il est certains points à ne pas négliger tout de même avant de partir, notamment la manière de subsister une fois sur place (je n'ai pas encore gagné à la loterie) ainsi que l'endroit à choisir.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
I believe it’s time to bring this space to life to meet pressing needs and serve the common good of society.
The project is simple:
1) Grow maize + build a processing plant to produce flour
2) Open a mini supermarket + a modern bakery using the flour for pastries, etc.
3) Build a healthcare service
4) Build a nursery and primary school
5) Construct free housing for retired expatriates in exchange for their voluntary contributions in their respective fields.
