Mon mari et moi aimerions allez découvrir l’andalouse en début février.
Ns avions pensé louer un appart à Marbella 2 semaines et 2 autres semaines ailleurs, pas décidé encore. Ns louerons une voiture et visiterons aux alentours et ferons aussi des randonnées pédestres, ,,
Par contre les commentaies que je lis, parle de Marbella comme une cité de béton, ,,
Ça m’arrête un peu car on aime bien la mer et les jolis villages typiques.
Ns ne serons pas toujours en route mais aimerions passer aussi du temps ds le village ou ville à flâner!

Le parc national Cabo de Gata est le seul morceau de littoral préservé et sauvage, et excellent pour marcher. Le PN Sierra de Cazorla à l'intérieur est aussi excellent pour la rando.

L'Andalousie est immense... il y a tant de trésors à découvrir.. ça dépend si vous préférez la mer ou la montagne, mais justement dans le cabo de gata la montagne tombe dans la mer...

Si vous avez la chance de dispose de 4 semaines, ne vous bloquez pas 2 semaines à Marbella. Regardez la carte, et en fonction de vos intérêts, sélectionnez en tout cas 4 point de chute différents. N'oubliez pas que l'on ne circule pas sur les routes de campagne, dans une région montagneuse, comme entre Montreal et Quebec . Evitez de perdre du temps en allez et retour non nécessaires.

Ns avons déjà fait Barcelone et préférons rester dans l’andalousie et voulions poser nos bagages une ou deux fois pour visiter autour, ou crois tu qui serait idéal?
Et bien rien qu'avec Cordoue, Grenade, Séville, Malaga il me semble que cela fait 4 points de chute, et il y a pas mal de possibilités de balades et de villes et villages intéressants dans les environs de chacune de ces villes.
Un conseil, ne pas s'entêter pour 2 endroits, mais plutôt pour 4 pour éviter des kilomètres en aller-retour... De plus, il faut voir le soir Séville, Cordoue et Grenade (si illuminé en février, ça je l'ignore)...
Personne ne peut prévoir le temps en février ! Juste avant Noël, à Cabo de Gata, on pouvait rester sur la plage en maillot de bain à condition d'être à l'abri du vent.

Vous nous en donnerez des nouvelles à votre retour. Nous on part 1 mois (19 mars à 19 avril) quand les conditions de sports d'hiver deviennent moins intéressantes pour nous. On a loué un condo à Calahonda à cause de sa situation directement sur la mer (vue et trottoir de bois longeant la mer jusqu'à Marbella). On a loué une auto et certains jours on va longer les villages/villes le long de la côte tout en revenant "chez nous" le soir sauf quand nous irons à Seville. Ce n'est pas un voyage de plage, ni un voyage de visite non stop. Du dehors, au soleil, pour recharger nos batteries.

Selon vos dates de voyage, l’événement à ne pas manquer en Andalousie est vraiment le carnaval de Cadiz. Il se déroulera cette année du 8 au 18 février 2018 😉
On a un planning très relaxe, très macro. Le plus loin qu'on veut aller c'est Séville et Grenade et on veut rester le plus possible en Andalousie pour profiter du beau temps. C'est certain qu'on va aller à Malaga évidemment car on est à 30 minutes de cette ville. On veut faire beaucoup de marche sur le bord de la mer. Juste en bas de notre condo, il y a d'ailleurs une promenade en bois qui va de Calahonda à Marbella. On veut faire les petits villages autour comme Calle de Mijas, Mijas, Nerja ainsi que d'autres petites villes portuaires. On veut aussi voir de quoi a l'air Torrox. J'y ai vu de beaux condos sur airbnb et si l'expérience nous convient, qui sait.
Torrox ne regorge pas de sites historiques à visiter comparé à Séville, Cordoue, Grenade, Gibraltar et autres. C'est un petit village d'environ 15 000 habitants seulement. Mais pour les paysages et voir un peu plus la vie quotidienne, ça semble intéressant. Ah, tout est tellement à découvrir !
Je crois que ns allons le visiter.
On voyage un peu comme vs on aime bien les petits village et voir comment vivent les gens.

Du côté de la cathédrale : Mamarracha, Ovejas Negras, El Pinton
Du côté de l'Alameda : El Aljibe, No Lugar
A faire absolument à Séville : boire un verre à la tombée de la nuit, sur un toit-terrasse proche de la cathédrale, afin d'admirer la cathédrale illuminée.
A tester à Séville selon votre personnalité (en dehors des grands monuments): petit-déjeuner sévillan (accompagné par un guide francophone), tapas-tour (accompagné par un guide francophone), catas (=dégustation) d'huiles et/ou de vins...
A visiter à Séville: la Cathédrale (entrée payante), l'Alcazar (entrée payante), la place d'Espagne (accès libre). De manière classique à pieds, de manière romantique en calèche (c'est cliché mais très sympa - par contre, réservez la calèche auprès d'une agence locale qui fait appel à son carnet d'adresses, ce qui vous évite d'avoir un cocher démotivé...), de manière ludique en segway (c'est fun, et cela se maîtrise en 05 minutes).
Egalement à découvrir : un spectacle de flamenco. Mon conseil à Séville : faites la visite du musée du flamenco suivie du spectacle de flamenco. La visite est ludique et le spectacle de qualité.
Pour réserver nombre de prestations en ligne, vous avez www.zoom.guide , ou vous pouvez les contacter par mail, ou vous pouvez aussi leur rendre visite à Séville, c'est une agence locale francophone située à proximité de la cathédrale. Je les sollicite lors de mes voyages en Andalousie (car ils ont un sacré carnet d'adresses sur l'Andalousie, ils sont super sympas, et aident sur tous les sujets), et je suis également leur blog.
J'allais oublier les hébergements. Personnellement je préfère loger en appartement (condo est le mot que vous utilisez, je crois) et réserve auprès de Genteel Home (plusieurs villes possibles - www.genteel-home.com).
Si vous avez d'autres questions, n'hésitez pas, et surtout faites un beau voyage.

J’ai réservé justement un appart avec une terrasse sur le toit où l’n Voit la cathédrale de nuit, très beau!
Ns y resterons 4 nuits pour allez ensuite vers córdoba.

Oui, 03 ou 04 nuits c'est tout à fait correct pour tomber amoureux de Séville ! 😉
De plus, depuis Séville, vous pouvez prendre le train pour aller jusqu'à Cordoue avec RENFE (www.renfe.com), le trajet est de 45 minutes. Vous pouvez donc même imaginer une escapade sur Cordoue sur une journée.
Ce ne serait pas la plage d'el playazo ?
Cette photo illustre bien le propos climatique , dans les montagnes vers Jaen le 26 il faisait entre -1 et +8 avec un super soleil . Comme quoî l'Andalousie c'est très variée .

Personnellement, je dirai que 02 jours/01 nuit suffisent (03 jours maximum). Cela peut varier en fonction d'éventuelles visites de musées par exemple.
Les monuments incontournables à visiter sont :
Le quartier juif et ses ruelles fleuries,
La mosquée cathédrale de Cordoue,
La plaza de la Corredera,
L’Alcazar de Cordoue et ses magnifiques jardins.
Également:
Le Palais de Viana (et ses 12 patios),
La synagogue de Cordoue,
Les écuries royales de Cordoue,

Notre périple se passe très bien d’autant plus qu’il fait soleil à tour les jours 12 à20 degrés. Marbella c’est bien, avec la promenade, la mer et vieille ville, mijas village blanc à voir absolment, Ronda faut voir, Séville très belle ville j’ai adoré, Grenade pour l’alhambra, et Cordoue pour la mezquita absolument a voir. L’andalousie est plein d’oliviers à pertes de vue, super beau avec de beaux petits villages blanc. Ns terminerons par la herradura en appart pour 7 jours face à la mer près de nerja moins touristique. si tu veux des infos n’hesite pas! A+

Comment se passe la conduite automobile ? Ce matin, nous sommes allés chercher notre carte pour notre GPS.
Y a-t-il beaucoup d'affluence touristique ? Devez-vous faire des réservations à l'avance obligatoirement, ex l'Alhambra ? Prévoyez-vous aller marcher au Caminito del Rey ? Il paraît que c'est à couper le souffle.

La conduite automobile est extraordinaire car les routes sont super belles et On dirait qu’on est seul! L’alhambra réserve sur internet et imprime ta confirmation c’est le meilleur moyen car les places sont limite.

J’ai réservé à l’avance sur booking sauf mes 3 dernières semaines et j’ai eu un appart pour 1 sem à la herradura pres nerja.
On devrait faire la rando au camino del rey ça l’air trop cool mais il faut réservé et autour de la Sierra Nevada, ,,

Ns sommes allez à torrox avec sa grande promenade sur le bord de la mer, mais beaucoup d’ immeubles r et de l’autre côté plus typique c’est bien.
Ns avons fait une promenade dans les alpujarras , Trevélez ( le village du meilleur jambon) Pampaneira très pittoresques çà vaut le détour, de très beau paysages.
Il ns reste 2 semaines et on poursuit notre escapade!
Le Soleil est au beau fixe.

notre séjour hivernal en Andalousie se termine dans une semaine après 2 mois.
connaissant l'Andalousie en quasi totalité à l'exception de la région d'Alméria, nous arrivons toujours à découvrir quelque chose...il y a tant à voir, à faire et à goûter . et en toutes saisons !
Nous sommes restés basés les 2 mois à Marbella (le must d'Andalousie pour la météo : clémente) par choix : nous connaissons depuis 25 ans et je suis un peu d'ici.
Simplement pour ton séjour, je ne sais où tu seras logé mais voici quelques adresses de resto à prix doux, cuisine andalouse et fraîcheur des produits garanties :
- petit déjeuner : cafeteria Parquesol, angle avenida Nabeul et av Ricardo Soriano
- restos : en limite de la vieille ville : Bar El Cordobes
dans la vieille ville : Bar Altamirano (plus cher)
à proximité du port de pêche : Bar los canutos ou Bar los Canizos
attention que du poisson dans ceux là.....
- menu du jour sympa pour le midi : cafeteria Cuesta del Mar , av del mar (à 100m de la plage)
- chiringuito sur la plage dans le quartier touriste : Basilio (très bonne paella)
- les meilleurs churros de Marbella : churreria Generalife (à/c du bar El Cordobes)
quelques idées de ballades à faire :
- à pied par le bord de mer : de Marbella à Puerto banus (7kms) et si courageux jusqu'à San Pedro d'Alcantara (3 kms de plus) . retour à pied ou en bus
la promenade en bois le long de la mer vers Malaga (dont parle votre ami dans le post) n'existe que partiellement et reste à l'état de projet pour l'essentiel au départ de Marbella.
- la vieille ville de Marbella
- la ballade du front de mer chaque fois qu'il fait soleil
- en voiture : partir vers l'ouest jusqu'à Tarifa voir l'océan et .... au retour s'arrêter au mirador à droite pour profiter de la vue sur Gibraltar et les côtes marocaines. ( 120 kms AR)
autre : partir vers l'ouest , passer Estepona puis prendre à droite la route Casarès . y arriver en fin de matinée pour boire un verre avec una tapa sur la place du village. reprendre la route pour Gaucin puis Ronda. visite de la ville et repartir vers la sierra de las nieves et El Burgo, puis Coin, Ojen et retour à Marbella (environ 180 kms) mais quelle beauté des paysages traversés.
autre : aaler vers l'ouest jusqu'à Estepona, prendre la route du " Puerto de penas blancas " ou (et) Genalguacil . suivre la route qui est totalement asphaltée malgré les cris du GPS !!!! jusqu'à Génalguacil : un des plus beaux villages blancs, totalement méconnu et authentique. vous pourrez y manger (sauf le vendredi ) à la sortie du village au bar Las Cruces....de là vous pouvez rejoindre en 30 minutes Ronda.

Nous partons bientôt et j'espère que la température va s'améliorer. L'an dernier, j'avais surveillé la température pour mars avril dans le coin où nous allons demeurer (Cala de Mijas, Calahonda) et c'était du soleil mur à mur, presque pas de pluie. We’re planning a short trip at the end of July to explore the legendary mountains and valleys of the Bernese Oberland: round trip from Nancy (Swiss highway vignette planned), 2 nights in a room with a small kitchen in Adelboden, then 2 nights in a hotel at the Gletscherblick in Grindelwald, both with half-board included.
Could you share some tips on the best road routes to take, as well as some walking hikes (we’re not as fit as we used to be, so nothing longer than 2-3 hours)? Maybe also 1 or 2 cable car rides—I was thinking of Oeschinensee Lake above Kandersteg and the First gondola above Grindelwald for better panoramic views of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau... all while keeping it doable with our schedule. We’ve ruled out the "premium" trip up to the Jungfraujoch for this time.
I’m also guessing that paying to access Wengen or Mürren only makes sense if we’re staying there for a few days, right?
- Is the road through the narrow valley of the White Lütschine toward Lauterbrunnen and beyond still worth it in terms of views and scenery?

I’ve found some great deals on flights to two destinations: Menorca in the Balearic Islands and Alghero in Sardinia.
The flights would take us from Bordeaux to Menorca on the evening of 9/07 and return to Bordeaux in the evening on 13/07.
Or to Alghero very early on 10/07 (departure at 6 AM) and return in the mid-afternoon on 13/07.
We love beautiful landscapes, the sea, snorkeling, walks (hiking), and the charm of villages.
We want to spend some quality time as a couple without our kids and mix discovery with relaxation.
I can’t make up my mind. The transport costs are roughly the same when you factor in parking for Sardinia since the early departure means no public transport from home.
We’ve never been to Menorca, Sardinia, or Italy at all. I’ve been to Majorca, though.
Menorca would be 4 nights and 4 days, while Alghero would be 3 nights and 2.5 days.
Also, what itinerary would you recommend for Alghero and Menorca?

I visited the Faroe Islands in late March 2026 for about ten days. I was invited by a friend who lives near Tórshavn, so I don’t have any info on tourist accommodations or car rentals. Still, I’d like to share a few thoughts about my trip:
- Before leaving, I consulted travel guides and blogs. I was surprised by how repetitive and unoriginal the featured sites were. This leads hurried travelers to follow the same overcrowded routes, which can annoy locals. I found that all Faroese villages were interesting—they reflect the country’s identity, even without the iconic grass-roofed houses. Those are indeed harmonious and beautiful, but they feel like an exotic cliché. For activities, I loved the lively ports that keep the country running.
- I was annoyed by the paid trails in tourist spots. Locals explained that these paths cross private land, and owners are responsible for maintenance and safety. There are plenty of free trails, too—signs at the start detail their features. While not alarmist, the extreme and unpredictable weather is a key factor to consider before setting out.
- The wind’s strength really impressed me. The architecture, with doors and windows opening outward to prevent gusts from blowing roofs off, speaks to the harsh climate. Some days, relentless rain and squalls made going outside unappealing. I realized that in this country, it’s best to plan for flexible indoor days.
- Distances are relatively short. I was happy to be based near Tórshavn because it was easy to explore one or more places in a day. The roads are in great condition. In late March, diesel was 2 €. Tunnel tolls can add up (~26 € per crossing), making a fixed base less practical than I’d thought.
- Everyone agrees: the landscapes are breathtaking. Nature feels untamed here—except for the short grass, thanks to all the woolly sheep.
- The flight from Paris to the Faroe Islands (and back) was long in March—11 hours with three legs: Paris-Amsterdam, Amsterdam-Copenhagen, Copenhagen-Vágar. In bad weather, Vágar Airport can close, causing delays. During tourist season, Atlantic Airways offers a direct Paris-Faroe Islands flight, which is more comfortable and cheaper.
- I found a book recommendation in a guide that fascinated me after my trip: *Les collectionneurs d'images* by Joanes Nielsen. Through its sometimes caricatured characters, it offers a glimpse into Faroese mentalities from the 1950s to 1970s—attitudes that likely persist today.
In conclusion, I’ve traveled a lot and I’m tired of destinations that all start to look the same. The Faroe Islands were a delight—a country stunning in its landscape, climate, and culture, where tourism has barely altered its authenticity.

We’re heading to Bavaria from May 13 to 23, with a side trip to Austria.
Here’s our itinerary:
Day 1: Brussels-Munich
Day 2: Munich
Day 3: Munich and departure for Salzburg
We’ll be staying three nights in Salzburg.
Then we’ll head to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, where we’ll stay for five nights.
Visiting Munich and Salzburg isn’t too tricky.
Once in Garmisch, we’re planning a day in Innsbruck, a day for Neuschwanstein Castle, and the rest is still up in the air.
What’s really got me stumped is that we’d love to see Königssee Lake—everyone says it’s a must-see.
We’d also like to visit the Eagle’s Nest (Kehlsteinhaus), where the landscapes are supposedly stunning.
This would either be a round trip while we’re in Salzburg or on the way between Salzburg and Garmisch, but I’m guessing it’s impossible to do the drive from Salzburg to Garmisch, the Eagle’s Nest, *and* Königssee Lake all in one day.
Plus, the Alpine route between Salzburg and Garmisch seems prettier than the highway.
But honestly, I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the planning.
We should’ve added a stop between Salzburg and Garmisch, but the hotels are already booked.

We’re planning a trip to Finland and Norway this summer, starting in Oulu to explore Lapland, heading up to the North Cape, and then making our way down to Bergen.
This route means renting a car in Finland and dropping it off in Norway. My initial searches are showing rental rates that are... astronomical—about three times the price compared to returning it at the starting point.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one wanting to visit both countries. Are there any great tips to drastically reduce the cost of renting a car?

I’m sharing my draft itinerary with you because I just booked our flight tickets, and I feel like it’s quite late in the season. So, I’d like to be sure about my stops before reserving the hotels. I’ll be traveling alone with my two adult children. We want to prioritize outdoor walks, avoid too many indoor visits (both for budget and preference), and not spend too much time on the road.
D1: Arrival at 9 AM in Malaga, day in Malaga and overnight stay
D2: Head straight to Nerja (1-hour drive) and spend the night there
D3: Head straight to Granada (1.5-hour drive), spend the day and night there
D4: Granada. Visit the Alhambra (Nasrid Palaces tour at 5 PM) and spend the night
D5: Head to Ronda (2.5-hour drive) and spend the night
D6: White Villages and overnight in Ronda
D7: Head straight to the Costa del Sol (e.g., Estepona), spend the day and night there
D8: Return to Malaga to catch our flight
There you go! This itinerary takes into account that we’d like to do a circuit starting from Seville in a few years. That said, it’d be a shame to miss something doable from Malaga.
Questions:
Since the Alhambra visit is only at 5 PM, and we’d already have the day to explore Granada, would arriving the day before be a mistake? Or should we skip this day and dedicate it elsewhere (Costa del Sol? Head toward Tabernas?)? The old town appeals to me, but maybe the Sacromonte neighborhood isn’t essential...
Same question for Ronda: should we dedicate a full day to it, or combine Ronda and the White Villages in one day?
Note that we love wandering around villages outside, so that might answer my question! :)
Final question: Is it better to rent the car at Malaga Airport or in the city? If we rent at the airport, we’d need a hotel with parking, which doesn’t seem easy. Or stay outside the city and park for free near the center if possible? I’ve read comments about taking a taxi to Malaga and then picking up the rental car at the airport the next morning. The taxi would really need to be affordable...

We’ll be flying from Montreal to London, where we’ll spend three nights.
After that, we’ll head to Dublin for a few days and take trains to visit the main attractions.
Our ideal plan would be to choose hotels near train stations and take tours to the interesting spots.
Would 8 days in Ireland be enough for this kind of trip?

Can you share your experiences about Bilbao with us? We're planning to go during the last week of April, with our main goal being to visit the Guggenheim Museum. Despite our research, we're not sure if a week is too long or what there really is to see and do in Bilbao. Should we rent a car to explore the surrounding areas? For San Sebastián, it seems there are pretty convenient buses. Would a day trip there and back be doable?

My partner and I have experience in Norway (Dovrefjell and Jotunheimen) and would love to explore Sweden’s landscapes. Naturally, I’ve been considering the Sarek / Padjelanta / Stora Sjöfallet area. I haven’t decided on a specific destination yet, so I have a few questions and would love input from experienced travelers.
- Which region of Sweden should be a priority if we love mountains?
- Starting in mid-July, which summits in the Sarek / Padjelanta / Stora area are interesting and accessible without gear (crampons, rope, ice axe)? We have solid mountaineering experience and want to gain elevation without overloading our packs. Ideally, summits without crevassed glacier crossings and minimal technical climbing (easy scrambling).
- How many days does it take to complete the north-to-south traverse of Sarek?
