Je suis actuellement jeune diplômée en architesture intérieur et design à Paris. J'ai eu une offre de stage à Genève que j'ai accepté car j'ai très envie de connaitre d'autre cultures, pays et de rencontrer des gens. J'ai commencé à chercher des logements, mais hélas comme vous devez le savoir c'est très compliqué car il y a peu d'offre et elle sont très chères. Je pensais vivre du côté français du coup car mon salaire (1600 CHF) ne me permettra pas de me loger sur genève et d'y vivre, à mon grand désespoir ! J'ai cherché des collocations, des hébergement spéciaux pour stagiaires et étudiants, mais cela reste au-dessus de mes moyens
Je cherche donc dans les villes frontalières comme Annemasse, Saint-Julien en Genevoix, etc. (Toutefois certain propriétaire ne veulent pas de frontaliers, pourquoi ?)
J'ai de plus, quelques questions (j'ai déjà fais des recherches, mais j'aimerais être en contact avec quelqu'un qui connait bien Genève et la Suisse aussi, car j'aimerais la visiter)
1 _ J'ai une voiture et un permis B, est-il valable en suisse et combien de temps ?
2 _ Je vais signer un contrat de travaille en tant que stagiaire salarié, j'aurais donc mon permis de travaille ? que dois-je avoir besoin d'autre pour être en règle ?
3 _ Je crois savoir que je peux garder ma sécurité sociale ? est-ce vrai ? idem mutuelle ? peut-être est-ce mieux d'adhérer à une sécu et/ou mutuelle pour frontalier ?
4 _ Avec un tel revenu je ne pense pas payer d'impôt, mais toutefois je devrais les déclarer, alors comment cela se passe-t-il ?
5 _ Dois-je avoir un compte bancaire Suisse ?
6 _ quelles sont les habitudes des Suisses sur leur lieu de travaille (c'est une question bizard mais je suis très curieuse de connaître les us et coutumes !), leurs horaires, leur rythme, leur pause déjeuner, la paye, etc... (pour les habitudes quotidiennes je me suis procurée un livre et suis donc incollable :D)

Pour ce qui est du logement c'est sur qu'avec 1600.- c'est assez difficile, peut-être regarder du côté des appart en colocation, voir peut être le site de l'université de Genève (www.unige.ch)
Concernant le permis de conduire je pense sûrement qu'il est valable en Suisse, toutefois si tu décides de t'établir ici il te faudra surement faire un permis suisse. Si tu as une voiture je pense qu'il est préférable de garder les plaques françaises.
Pour la sécurité sociale j'en ai aucune idée puisque nous n'avons pas ça ici. L'assurance maladie est obligatoire pour les résidents (sur Genève minimum 350.- pour les moins de 25 ans), pour les accidents tu es couverte par l'assurance accidents de ton employeur.
Pour ce qui est des impôts, nous remplissons la déclaration en début d'année. Je pense que si tu déposes tes papiers sur Genève tu en recevras une automatiquement.
Ouvrir un compte bancaire suisse serait sûrement une bonne idée, cela simplifierait le versement de ton salaire et les différents paiements à effectuer. Il y a bon nombre de banques à Genève, personnellement j'ai un compte courant à la Poste, je le gère en ligne et je n'ai aucun frais de gestion. Lorsque tu ouvres un compte à la Poste, tu reçois une postcard avec laquelle tu peux payer dans tous les magasins (très pratique!), stations essences, cabines téléphoniques, etc
Les habitudes des Suisses au travail.... pas trop d'idées vu que je suis encore étudiante.... La ponctualité est importante et sinon je pense que c'est pas tellement différent de la France. Sinon beaucoup de gens commencent le travail assez tôt (enfin tout dépend du secteur) et il y a beaucoup de pendulaires.
Voilà si tu as d'autres questions je suis dispo (quoique je parte au Cambodge pour un mois....)
Tout d'abord, je dois dire que ton salaire, que tu sois du côté français ou suisse est vraiment minime pour être "à l'aise". En effet, tu constateras que la vie est très chère très chère. Maintenant, voici certaines réponses à tes questions:
- Ton permis français est valable en suisse si tu habites du côté français. Sinon, tu dois faire le changement au bureau des automobiles: www.geneve.ch/ocan
- Normalement c'est à ton patron de faire les démarches pour l'obtention d'un permis "frontalier" ou de travail. Renseignes-toi auprès, il aura certainement besoins de certains papiers.
- En habitant en Suisse, tu es obligé de souscrire une assurance maladie de base. Le prix est très variable. Un bon site de comparaison: www.comparis.ch. Les mutuelles pour frontalier sont nettement plus abordables et elle te permettent de te faire soigner en Suisse ou en France.
- Si tu résides en Suisse tu devras déclarer tes impôts. Ne t'înquiêtes pas, lorsque tu t'annonces comme résident, il te trouveront 😉. En étant frontalier, tu es imposé à la source.
- La plupart des sociétés versent le salaire sur un compte bancaire/compte courant. Il faut regarder avec ton patron si tu peux conserver ton compte français. Sinon la Poste en Suisse offre de bonnes prestations et gratuitement.
Habitudes de travail
- ~42h de travail par semaine.
- En fonction du secteur, les heures supplémentaires sont payées mais dans la plupart des cas, il est possible de les reprendre.
- ~4 semaines de vacances payées par année
- En principe dans un bureau, les horaires ressemblent +/- à 08h00 - 12h00 - 13h00 - 17h30. Une pause 10 minutes le matin et 10 minutes l'après-midi est généralement accordé sur le temps de travail.
- La paie est en principe versée 1x par mois entre le 25 et le 30 sur un compte bancaire ou postal.
- Les grèves sont permises sous certaines conditions inscrites dans la constitution. Mais il est vraiment extrêment rare que cela arrive.

Je quitte le Burkina (Afrique) pour Genève très prochainement (en février) pour poursuivre une formation notamment un Master en études du développement. Je souhaite trouver un contrat de stage à l'issue de la formation. Outre le service carrière et emploi de l'institut qui nous donne des informations sur les offres de stage, j'aimerais savoir s'il existe d'autres moyens de trouver un stage payant de préférence pour subvenir à mes besoins minimum. Je sais déjà que la vie coûte très chere à Genève et que la colocation, pas évident d'en trouver. Mais pour commencer, il me faudrait trouver un contrat de stage payant.
Mais le problème c'est que mon permis de séjour couvre juste le temps de la formation. Je me demande s'il est possible d'obtenir un contrat de stage payant et prolonger mon séjour de trois à six mois. Je ne sais pas trop quelle est la démarche à suivre n'étant pas résidente Suisse, ni d'Europe d'ailleurs.

After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
