voila ma situation j'ai 23 ans et on me propose du travail sur Mayotte, évidemment difficilement refusable à mon âge c'est une opportunité pour moi d'élargir mes horizons, ma culture, je ne suis absolument pas quelqu'un de fermé et même si j'ai un peu peur de l'inconnu j'ai hâte de démarrer cette aventure.
L'essentiel de mes questions se résumerais en fait que je voudrais savoir comment se passe la vie la bas, la vie est elle cher ? Je suis blanc on m'a parlé de racisme la bas mais pour ma part je ne pense pas que j'aurais de problème, je suis quelqu'un de sociable et de curieux très heureux de rencontrer de nouvelle façon de vivre et de nouvelle culture, et je ne suis surtout pas hypocrite alors bon, bien sur y'a des cons partout après ca je m'en doute. Quel loisir occupe t'on quand on a 23 ans à Mayotte et qu'on vient de la métropole, je n'ai pas énormément d'argent non plus. Fait t'on facilement de nouvelles connaissances ? Il y a aussi un dernier Hic disons, je suit un traitement depuis maintenant 7 mois pour une hépatite C, tout se passe correctement, je voulais savoir si éventuellement vous saviez si il est possible de se fournir les médicaments la bas (interféron et ribavirine), médicament qui coute très cher (environ 1500€) mais heureusement remboursé à 100%. Cette opportunité étant difficilement refusable (ça se présente pas tout les jours), si il n'était pas possible de me fournir la bas ou d'avoir le même régime de sécurité sociale, je pourrait l'arrêter sans problème.

Bonjour Je pense que tu devrais d'abord aller passer des vacances à Mayotte, car la vie est chère, chômage, et la mentalité rien à voir avec la métropole une Ile à 98% musulmane à toi de voir j'y ai passé 1 mois pour avoir un super salaire ok deux ou trois ans pas plus .mais tu peux aller voir à part deux ou trois plages les baleines rien d'autre.
ben disons que la personne qui m'emploie me paye le billet aller retour pour qu'au moins je voit, concernant la mentalité je ne pense pas qu'il y aura de problème la dessus, quand j'ai travaillé au Maroc au début j'avais eu un sacré choc, puis au bout d'un mois je m'était très bien adapté et je m'était fait beaucoup d'ami, et puis je crois qu'a mon âge c'est le moment de bouger, de tenter quoi
J'ai passé qqls jours à Mayotte récemment et c'est vrai la vie est tres chere, mais c'est une île magnifique ( qqls petites marches, ça vaut pas la Réunion mais bon!, de la plongée splendide, des gens acceuillants...) le gros inconvéniant ce sont les vols, il ne faut rien avoir de valeur chez toi, ne rien laisser qd tu vas à la plage...
Mais comme partout il faut s'insérer dans la population, préférer les villages mahorais plutot que les quartiers mouzoungous (= étranger blanc).
N'écoutes pas ceux qui disent qu'il n'y a rien à faire à Mayotte! Je suis arrivée il y a 4 mois, évidemment, gros choc au départ, et très vite, tu t'habitues... Pas de racisme en ce qui me concerne, mais les mzungus ne se mélangent pas trop avec les mahorais, question de langue, de religion, de niveau de vie, etc...
La vie est chère, bien sûr car nous sommes sur une île, mais en adaptant son alimentation, il y a moyen de s'en sortir. Tout dépend aussi si ton salaire est majoré...
Les loisirs à Mayotte : la mer, la mer, et encore la mer! Plongée, bateau, plage, bivouac, ... Les week ends, à part la mer, on a vite fait le tour. Sinon, tu peux aussi faire des randos, qqs visites (musée du sel, de la vanille par exemple), te reposer (car la chaleur te fatigue beaucoup au départ); il y a fréquemment des concerts le we, j'espère que tu aimes le reggae!
Je ne sais pas dans quel secteur tu vas travailler, mais en ce qui me concerne, à l'hopital, mais aussi d'une manière générale, on lie très vite connaisance, les gens te proposent spontanément de te dépanner quand tu es nouveau sur l'ile, et tu trouves toujours qqn pour te dépanner quand tu es en galère de voiture par exemple!
De quoi faut-il se méfier? De l'attitude coloniale de certains, des blancs qui sont blasés avant d'arriver, de l'envie de vivre comme en métropole, et des vols bien sûr. Personne n'est épargné malheureusement, alors n'emporte rien de valeur, et contente toi de te meubler avec un minimum d'affaires. D'ailleurs, pour le logement, la coloc est une bonne solution pour ne pas avoir un loyer trop élevé et pour éviter au maximum les cambriolages.
En ce qui concerne ton traitement, je ne peux malheureusement pas te renseigner, mais tu peux appeler une pharmacie au hasard avec les pages jaunes et leur demander. Pour la sécu, si tu n'es pas inscrit à la caisse de sécu de Mayotte (CSSM), tu devras avancer les frais, puis te faire rembourser. L'inscription prend qqs mois, le temps que ton employeur te fournisse une attestation, que tu dois ensuite joindre à ta demande d'inscription à la CSSM, ce qui fait que je ne suis toujours pas inscrite... De plus, les médicaments coutent 40% + chers qu'en métropole!!!
Voilà, si tu as d'autres questions, n'hésite pas.
Au fait, petit pense-bête : pense à faire débloquer ton téléphone portable pour l'international et pour éventuellement changer d'opérateur... Moi, j'ai oublié, ce n'est pas une grosse galère, mais ça peut servir.

Car tu donnes souvent des avis négatifs. J'ai pu voir que tu venais de la reunion tout comme moi, alors restes-y. Je suis déjà allé à mayotte et contrairement à toi j'ai adoré, car les gens sont super accueuillant, et ils veulent nous faire découvrir leur île. Il est vrai que la vie est cher à mayotte mais toi qui vit à la reunion tu dois savoir également que dans toutes les îles, la vie est aussi cher, avec un taux de chomâge important . Alors je pense que tu devrais t'abstenir de perdre ton temps à donner ton avis sur la question de mayotte.

I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
