Je suis actuellement en train de planifier un voyage a travers 13 pays avec pour moyen de locomotion mes jambes, l'auto-stop et le train :)
Avec pour depart la Roumanie (ou j'habite actuellement), je pensais suivre le trace suivant :

7-Nepal
8-Inde
9-Bengladesh
10-Birmanie
11-Laos
12-Thailande
13-Cambodge
14-Vietnam
(pour aller plus vite, j'ai mis le la ou je n'ai pas besoin de visa .p)
Cela sera majoritairement du transit jusqu'en Inde (ou je souhaite faire le tour du pays)
puis au feeling (enfin dans la limite du visa quoi :_) pour le reste.
Le retour se fera sur le meme trace (meme si je prefererais passer par la Chine histoire d'en voir un peu plus.)
Difficile donc, dans la mesure ou mes entrees et mes sorties ne peuvent etre anticipees, de prendre le risque de faire des demarches avant depart; de peur de risquer un pepin ou une expiration de visa.
Seulement voila, certains visas me foutent foutrement les boules, notemment celui de la Chine, qui demande un correspondant (si j'ai bien compris..), un billet d'avion (...est-ce obligatoire!?..) et des trucs comme ca.
De plus, je souhaiterais savoir, selon vos experiences collectives, et si mes infos ne sont pas trop vagues, combien ca peut me couter tout ca :o (les visas, pas le voyage:_).
Bref, grosso-modo, est-il possible de vivre ce trace au jour le jour.

Alors voila, j'ai fait des recherches sur les documents a fournir, tout du moins, jusqu'en Inde (etant mon premier principal objectif).
Et je constate que tout ca est VRAIMENT un casse tete administratif, et commence a me dire qu'il est implicitement requis d'etre riche pour realiser un projet comme ca... :/
En effet; pour la Russie (le premier pays ou un visa sera necessaire) pour un visa de transit, en complementaire des habituels , il est aussi demande d'avoir des billets(de train? de bus? cela n'est pas specifie) pour la totalite du trace... comment donc faire de l'auto-stop, ou prendre le bus/train en fonction des opportunites, la etant le principe et le sens de mon voyage.. cepandant j'ai lu sur le forum que d'autres personnes ont traverse ce pays en auto-stop, donc si je precise tout simplement que c'est mon mode de transport principal, ca passe ?
pour le Khazakstan; apparament il n'y a besoin de rien d'exeptionel, mais traverser le pays en 5 jours et acquerir un visa pour la Chine sur ce court laps de temps me parait completement irrealisable, (ce qui suit est une question stupide) dois-je donc prendre un visa touristique..? il en va de meme en fait pour la russie; si je prends un visa transit, est-il humainement possible de traverser le pays et d'obtenir un visa transit pour le khazakstan en 5 jours ? cela depends des ambassades, mais en general cela prend plusieurs jours pour que la demande soit traitee, et je crois que le temps entre la reception du visa et l'entre sur le territoire concerne est compte dans la valabilite de ce dernier non ? cela veut donc dire si j'ai bien compris que si je recois un transit de 5j en russie pour le khazakstan, et que je met 1 jour a rejoindre la frontiere, la valabilite de mon visa transit sera de 4j au lieu de 5 pour la traversee du pays.. j'ai juste ou je suis completement a cote de la plaque ?
pour la chine c'est quasiment mission:impossible, en tout cas, c'est l'image qui s'en degage.. alors pour un transit chinois, j'imagine que c'est juste impossible, considerant que je souhaite passer par le tibet, et que la encore il me faut une autorisation, et meme faire le voyage en groupe ( ce qui veut implicitement dire que il va valoir se caller dans un schedule, et que ca peut prendre plusieurs jours ou semaines, enfin j'en sais rien mais je vais surment pas me caller dans un groupe le jour meme ou le lendemain, il me semble evident qu'il y aura des listes d'attente, ou des personnes a attendre pour completer un groupe..)
alors du coup la pour un visa touristique chinois c'est un cauchemard en soi, lettres d'invitation officielle (j'ai pas tres bien compris ce que cela veut dire en fait ca), reservation d'hotels (alors j'ai cru comprendre qu'il est possible pour certaines agences de voyage de tout organiser et d'en fournir de factices etc.. est-ce decelable ? mais bon ca risque quoi ? je veux dire on fait dla zonz pour une expiration de visa la-bas, alors pour du faux.. ca m'enchante pas trop de risquer les prisons chinoises..) EDIT: apparement, une chambre en dortoir a 1e fait l'affaire.
il me semble aussi que des billets d'avion sont obligatoire .. (alors la ca casse tout mon trace..) il est evident que si je fait ca en stop, en bus et en train, c'est bien parce que je ne suis pas cresus, mon pere c'est pas donald trump, et ca fout en l'air la philosophie meme du voyage.
Pour le Nepal, ca a l'air plutot asser simple, les delais sont courts (48h c'est ecrit), les documents requis sont rudimentaires et la duree est decomptee a partir de l'entree du territoire (c'est specifie sur leur site)
Pour l'Inde (qui va etre le dernier point de la premiere partie de la preparation), c'est un chouilla plus complique que ce que je pensais, mais cela reste un peu plus simple.
Alors pour la suite de mon voyage (chose que je n'aborderais pas pour l'instant) je pensais sortir du pays (je pensais au Bengladesh, mais le probleme c'est qu'on de peut absolument pas passer en birmanie par voie terrestre, et ce quel que soit le pays d'entree, (a part un endroit je crois, mais bon, c'est devenu optionel vu la dificulte d'y aller), du coup, est-il techniquement realisable d'embarquer sur un bateau et de me rendre en Thailande sans faire escale en Birmanie ? ou alors si escale il y a, suis-je en regle a partir du moment ou je ne quitte pas l'embarcation?
Effectivement j'ai pose deux questions sur la suite, pour en revenir au principal;
car si je prends un double entrees en inde , je dois obligatoirement passer 2 mois au Bengladesh sans pouvoir bouger, revenir en Inde et passer par la Chine (LOL) pour aller au Laos (de plus, je dois fournir des le depart un trace, avec une explication de la raison de cette double entree, et des "confirmed travel tickets" (pour les 6 mois lol ?). Si je peux prendre le bateau, je prendrais plutot une entree unique.
est-ce casse-tete d'obtenir un visa pour le Bengladesh a partir de l'Inde ?

merci de ta reponse :), alors au niveau des blogs, en aurais tu eventuellement quelques un a me conseiller ?; j'ai effectivement lu quelques blogs, tout du moins une partie, mais j'ai rarement trouver des precisions au niveau des visas, ou alors manque de chance, ca ne concerne pas les pays que je vise.. mais je suis sur qu'il devrais y en avoir, sur la Chine en tout cas c'est sur et vu la difficulte a ce niveau-la, le sujet doit forcement etre traite.

Alors oui j'ai fouille le site du ministere des AE, et j'y ai trouve il est vrai pas mal d'infos, mais la question du visa de transit est en general moins approfondie, et les problemes d'infos relative au timing quand a celles-ci (a savoir la possibilite de contracter un visa transit dans un pays dans lequel je voyage avec un visa transit aussi justement, et cela tout en restant dans les temps) n'est pas traitee.
Quand au passeport, justement, je pense pouvoir etre en possesion des 2 lors du voyage, et j'imagine que le prix des visas pourrais varier de meme que les papiers demandes, mais je dirais d'une maniere generale que le passeport francais serait utilise principalement, laissant place au roumain si ce dernier peut m'eviter d'attendre 2mois avant de rentrer par exemple en Inde)
j'avoue que j'y ai pense aussi.. :P mais je me suis dit que si je ne precise pas suffisament mes objectifs et intentions, cela pourrais jouer en ma defaveur :))

J'ai lu sur le site du MAE justement que
Passeport d’une validité minimale de 6 mois, et visa (3 mois maximum) délivré à l’ambassade du Kazakhstan à Paris sur justification d’une invitation ou d’un contrat de travail. Pour un séjour ne dépassant pas 30 jours, cette invitation n’est pas nécessaire pour l’obtention de visas de tourisme ou d’affaires.

Apparement il ne me faudrais rien d'exeptionel, a part le visa de destination finale, mais ils ne precisent pas si ils delivrent des visas de transit a la frontiere sur leur site; je pense appeler directement leur ambassade pour me renseigner.
Neanmoins, il est vrai que le visa touriste khazak me permetterais d'avoir le temps d'obtenir le visa de transit russe, tout en etant assure de l'entree en Chine :)
Je pense aussi prendre le visa Indien en avance, histoire de facilier le passage au Nepal par le Tibet.
Attention, le passage par le Népal via le Tibet n'est pas donné donné (c'est même hors de prix) vu que le passage par une agence est quasi incontournable. En outre, il te faudra un permis Chinois spécial et tu risques de cumuler les difficultés :
- voyage au Tibet
- voyage au Sinqiang (tu vas rentrer en train par Ürümqi je suppose)
- pas de billet d'avion...
ça va finir par faire beaucoup pour un consulat chinois... Je me demande si tu n'aurais pas intérêt à acheter un billet d'avion remboursable, genre Hong-Kong -> Hanoi, et voir sur place.
facile tu tapes blogs ou sites tour du monde à pieds, motos, voitures..... tu as des réponses intéressantes, des retours d'expérience, même sur ce site tu as des réponses, j'ai lu dernièrement un truc avec le vietnam et je crois un autre parlant du laos, un aussi sur l'iran (attention aux visas par le net d'iranianvisa...., possible arnaque) et en même temps ne t'inquiete pas trop avec un peu de temps à pieds tu t'en sors, il ne vont pas te refuser systématiquement..... ensuite au lieu d'aller voir l'administration francaise renseigne toi aux représentations des pays concernés et pour finir les guides enfin faudrait peut être que tu commences par là...🙂, par contre et là tu peux te renseigner à l'administration francaise, je sais pas si tu as le droit de voyager avec deux passeports de pays différents, puisque lorsque tu es double national tu es citoyen du pays dans lequel tu habites.... à voir avec l'europe?. Sur ce... il est vrai que c difficile de répondre à ta demande car les visas parfois......🤪 c pas toujours logique et parfois ce qui se faisait il y a 6 mois, un an n'est plus toujours d'actualité ... mais voilà c obligatoire....😉 je vais partir à motos, et ce n'est pas mon premier soucis..... be cool😎 et que ce ne soit pas un frein tu trouveras tjs une solution c ça qu'il faut te dire...all the best serge😉

I bought a one-way flight (Ryanair) and a return flight (EasyJet) to spend a week in Morocco in April.
My passport expires 3 weeks after the return date.
Some websites say the passport must be valid for 3 months at the time of entry.
However, it will still be valid both on entry and return, but its validity will only be 1 month at the time of entry (and 3 weeks on the return date, everything prepaid).
It's an individual family trip.
The consulate can't give me an answer—they're still looking into it (really!)
Last year, we stayed for 3 months in Thailand, north of Khao Lak, and were able to benefit from the 2-month visa exemption, renewable for one month by going to Takua Pa to validate a 1-month extension (1,900 baht).
This year, it’s a disaster for us—not only were we planning a 4-month stay, adding a visa run in between (which some say is quite risky), but the law is apparently changing in the coming months with the return of the 1-month exemption (plus the usual 1-month option). So, we looked into applying for a 6-month multiple-entry visa, allowing a maximum of 60 consecutive days in Thailand. However, I can’t find anywhere the minimum time required outside Thailand between two stays—do any of you have an idea?

As a French national, I need to obtain a short-stay visa that can be converted to a long-stay one. To do this, I have to send the required documents to the Madagascar embassy in Paris.
No issues with that procedure so far.
If I get this visa, once I arrive in Madagascar, I’ll need to provide the same documents to the Ministry of the Interior in Anosy. I’m trying to find an email address or website for the Ministry to check which documents I need to submit (I think they ask for additional ones).

I’d like to know if anyone has already applied for a private visa to Russia with an invitation from a Russian resident.
I traveled earlier this year with an e-visa, but since I want to stay longer, I’ll be visiting my friend who lives in eastern Russia.
For the visa application, does the invitation need to be on an official paper form issued by the Russian ministry? And most importantly, do I need to present the original for the application, or is there an electronic version that can be sent directly to the consulate in France?

I filled out the B2 form to apply for a visa, created an account on Atvis to pay the visa fees and schedule a meet-up, but every time I try to pay with my Boursobank Visa 1st card, they refuse the payment with a message telling me to check my details (address), even though everything is correct. Does anyone know why this is happening, or maybe they don’t accept Visa cards? Are you aware of this?

I’ve read that China may ask for proof of exit within 30 days (flight ticket or other reservation). Since we’d be leaving by land, I’m wondering how this works in practice.

On her ticket, it only has her maiden name (e.g., Martine DUPOND).
On her passport, it’s written as Martine DUPOND épouse AVRY.
No issues for travel, I hope I did the right thing with the ticket?
Then for the ESTA, is just Martine DUPOND enough, or do I need to include the "épouse AVRY" part like on the passport?

I saw on the French Embassy in Peru’s website and the Peruvian Consulate in Paris’s site that the rule is to have a passport valid for 6 months *after the arrival date* (not the return date).
I arrive in Peru on August 13, 2019 (for about twelve days), and my passport is valid until February 16, 2020.
That’s 6 months and 3 days after my arrival date in Peru. In my opinion, I’m good to go.
But could I still be denied entry if they say I don’t cover the return date or that I’m too close to the 6-month mark?

My departure is slowly approaching, and now that I’ve got my Russian visa sorted, I’m fine-tuning the rest of my trip to Tajikistan. Since the Tajik visa is no longer required for stays under 30 days (for French nationals), I’ll need to visit the Ministry of Interior (OVIR) to register within 10 days of entering the country. No big deal, though, since I had to go there anyway to apply for my GBAO permit. 😉 However, I’ve *seen* several reports from travelers (mostly motorized) mentioning that you need an entry permit for Kyrgyzstan, which has to be arranged in advance at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) in Dushanbe. Otherwise, you’re *stuck* at the Kyzyl-Art border (with no Wi-Fi, of course, to try and sort it out). The most recent report was from a year ago, so I’d love to know if this is still the case and if it’s indeed at the Kyrgyz Ministry (consulate?) where you need to go for this pre-authorization.

I’m leaving for almost 3 months in the Philippines (11 weeks total) starting in early May.
I already have my round-trip ticket.
The problem is, I don’t have time to get a 2-month visa because the process takes nearly a month.
From what I’ve read here and there, I need a return ticket valid for less than a month when I arrive in the Philippines to prove my good faith.
After that, I can apply for a 30-day extension at the immigration office.
I’m planning to either buy a fully refundable ticket to the nearest country or a fake ticket.
For 3 months, I’ll need to extend my visa two more times before my return date to France.
My question is this:
Will immigration ask me each time I extend my visa by one month to show proof of an exit ticket matching the new visa extension date?
Is it possible to extend directly by 2 months before the initial 30 days expire?

If during my stay I cross the border to spend a few days in Malaysia and then re-enter Thailand,
do I need to submit a new TDAC application?

My partner (Mexican) entered France on January 21st as a tourist. She was therefore entitled to stay for 90 days in the Schengen Area. She’ll be leaving for Mexico on April 16th, so she’ll have “used up” 86 days.
She plans to return to France on July 18th. According to the European Commission’s Schengen calculator, this new stay “may be authorized for a maximum of 90 days.” That’s not very clear ("may be," "for a maximum of").
The text of Article 6 of the European regulation (2016/399) states that for a stay planned in the territory of the Member States, not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period, one must examine "the 180-day period preceding each day of the stay." That’s not very clear either.
My partner wants to return to France for a 90-day period starting on July 18th. Is this possible?
There are two ways to look at it:
1) The first day she spent in the Schengen Area was January 21st. That day will drop out of the calculation 180 days later, on July 20th.
From July 20th, she’ll get back 1 day of possible stay; on July 22nd, 2 days; and so on. All the days from her previous stay (January 21st–April 16th) need to be outside the 180-day rolling window.
The last day of her stay was April 16th. Looking 180 days ahead, that brings us to October 13th. From that date, she’ll be able to return for a full 90 days.
2) The number of allowed days is calculated for each day of the new stay. In other words: the 180-day window is recalculated every day, not fixed at the entry date.
If she re-enters France on July 18th, she’ll only have a “credit” of 4 days. But with each day of her new stay, one day from the previous stay (January–April) will drop out of the calculation. The rolling window allows her to “replace” days from the previous stay with those of the new stay, without ever exceeding 90 days in any 180-day period.
In this case, my partner could stay in France for 90 days starting on July 18th.

We’re planning to travel to Indonesia (Sulawesi with family) next July and August for a stay longer than a month (about 6 weeks).
I’ve seen that it’s possible to get a 60-day visa before departure, but I’ve also read about people having a lot of trouble getting it (some even didn’t manage and had to leave without it).
We absolutely need to have these 4 visas BEFORE leaving because once we’re in Sulawesi, I’m not sure we’ll be able to go to an embassy to request a visa extension after 30 days.
In short, how can we **100% guarantee** that we’ll get our 4 60-day visas before our trip this summer?

We’re heading back in October for a trip through Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
I have a question: for our route, we’ll need to cross the Zambia and Zimbabwe borders twice each. From experience, I know we won’t have any issues with Botswana.
But for the other two countries, I can’t find a clear answer.

I’m currently a student on a gap year, and I don’t plan to go back to school right away. That said, traveling really interests me. But I’ve been wondering: does being a student come with any perks when you decide to go abroad? The real question is whether I should re-enroll in a program just to keep that status without actually attending.
