Ca fait un moment que je me tate et voilà c'est fait, j'ai pris un billet open au départ de Paris pour le 1er Aout direction Bangkok. Je pense rester environ deux mois en Thailande, et bouger un peu, mais j'avoue que j'ai besoin de quelques conseils rapides, car pour le hôtels, les restos, je pourrais gérer sur place mais je veux rien oublier. Outre le visa (dont il faut que je m'occupe), quid des vaccinations? Vous les habitués, vous faites quoi?
Dernière chose, si une ame charitable et cool veut bien prendre un verre avec moi sur place, néhsitez pas !!!
Mis à part la petite pharmacie de base que tu devrais emmener avec toi, si tu penses bouger dans le nord, ce que je te conseille vivement si tu veux bien connaitre la Thailande, va voir ton médecin et demande lui un traitement contre le paludisme !!!
A part ça, laisse toi porter au fil de tes envies et de tes rencontres, la Thailande en baroudeur, est un pays très facile à aborder, va vers les thais, soient à leur écoute, découvre leur culture et respecte les, tu vas passer un séjour formidable !
Concernant le traitement antipalu en Thaïlande, les avis divergent car le palu est très peu présent dans ce pays.
Je suis allé plusieurs fois en Thaïlande, un peu partout et en famille et nous avons fait de le choix de ne pas prendre de traitement préventif.
En revanche, il convient de bien de protéger des piqûres surtout entre 18h et 7h.
D'autres maladies que le palu sont propagées par les moustiques. Il serait stupide de prendre un traitement antipalu et de choper la dengue.
Le sujet est largement traité dans le forum santé.
Si tu pars le 1er Aout pour le visa il ne faut pas tarder car n'oublis pas qu'en France c'est la période des grands départs donc si il y a beaucoup de demande auprès de l'ambassade Thaï cela risque d'être juste😉. Fais gaffe aussi avec ton billet open car selon la compagnie sans un visa adéquat tu risques d'avoir des problèmes pour embarquer à Paris (si c'est la Thaï ou Air France no soucies).
Tu pars deux mois donc tu as du temps pour découvrir la Thaïlande. Si tu ne connais pas l'Asie du Sud Est commence ton périple en suivant les autoroutes touristiques (suit un guide comme le LP ou le R🙂) cela te permettra de te "mettre dans le bain" et de comprendre un peu le fonctionnement du pays. Puis ensuite commence progressivement à aller dans des endroits peu ou pas touristiques (rassures toi même si il y a peu de Thaïs qui parlent Anglais tu arriveras toujours à te loger et à manger😎).
Moi je fais comme Lepiaf pas de traitement anti pallu et pourtant je reste souvent dans la campagne Issan. Ne t'encombre pas d'une "pharmacie ambulante" car en Thaïlande tu trouves très facilement des pharmacies.
Si tu vas dans le Nord Est (l'Issan) tu ne trouveras pas de Guesthouse dans les petits villages alors loges dans une ville assé importante (tu auras toujours soit une Guesthouse ou un petit hotel) et ensuite tu rayonnes à la journée à partir de celle-ci. Si tu loues une motobike n'oublies pas le permis international et n'oublies pas qu'en général tu n'as pas d'assurance (ne laisse jamais ton passeport au loueur et d'ailleur dans aucune circonstance ne laisse ton passeport à quelqu'un. Si on te demande de le laisser en caution dis de faire une photocopie ou vas faire une photocopie😉).
Lis bien les post dans la rubrique arnaques car en général les arnaqueurs repèrent assé facilement les novices de l'Asie du Sud Est et tout se passera bien😉.
Pour les Guesthouses demande toujours à visiter la chambre avant de régler et tu peux négocier les prix pour tout ce que tu achètes (ne va pas négocier le prix d'une bière à 40 bahts quand même ni même les produits que tu achètes dans les grandes surfaces ou au Seven/Eleven😉).
N'oublies pas que si tu respectes les gens tu seras respecté et donc tu passeras d'agréables vacances en Thaïlande.

Si tu pars avec AF pas de problèmes de visa et si tu veux sortir du pays vu que tu as du temps vas faire un tour à Angkor au Cambodge (très facile pour si rendre depuis la Thaïlande: la ville ou il faut loger pour Angkor est Siem Reap) comme ça tu n'as pas besoin de visa pour la Thaïlande.
N'oublies pas que le visa que tu reçois en arrivant en Thaïlande (le tampon sur le passeport🙂) n'est valide que 30 jours (et non pas un mois).
Te prends pas la tete pour le visa.
Quand tu arriveras tu auras un visa de 30 jours. A la fin va fair un tour a Luang prabang (laos) ou a Siem Reap (Cambodge) et reviens en thailande.
Bien sur si tu as la "sournoise" intention de rester plus de 2 mois alors cours faire ton visa ! Tu pourras rester 2 mois MAIS pas sortir du pays car cela P... donc tu auras 3 mois en tout.
Franchement, plusieurs séjours en thailande, ni vaccin ni contre le palu. Les médecins te conseille l'Hépatite A mais sans obligation. Achète toi un bon truc contre les moustiques et surtout... BON VOYAGE

We're about to go on an organized trip to South Africa, including Kruger Park. We were told that Malarone should preferably be taken in the evening at the same time during a meal. But it's hard to know what time we'll have dinner, especially since I've read that in South Africa, dinner is usually around 6 PM.
I'd love to hear from people who've been on organized trips to this destination and could share their experience. We were thinking of taking Malarone around 7:30 PM, assuming dinner would be closer to 7 PM than 6 PM. Also, if the meal ends up being earlier or later than when we take the pill, would a cookie or a piece of bread be enough to take with Malarone?
I’m planning to set off on a "round-the-world" trip/long journey at the start of next year, lasting between 4.5 and 6 months. For now, the itinerary looks like this: South Korea (2 weeks) -> Japan (1 month) -> New Zealand (1 month) -> Argentina (1 month) -> United States (1 month).
I’m on medication (paroxetine 20 mg/day) and was hoping to bring enough for the entire trip so I wouldn’t have to find a doctor on the spot, deal with a molecule that might be slightly different from what’s available in France, or wonder if that’s even a possibility. Basically, it seemed simpler on paper...
But after looking into the regulations for each country, it’s suddenly way less simple . Many seem to only allow the amount corresponding to the length of your "stay" in the country... Which is a problem if I arrive in Korea with 4.5 months’ worth of medication, for example.
After all that, and even though I’ll obviously contact the relevant authorities in each country (fingers crossed for a response 😛), here’s my question:

I have several chronic conditions (including asthma and related ones), and I’m planning to travel for a year across different countries.
Generally, I understand it’s possible to travel with approved medications (which should be my case), but often with a limit of 3 months’ worth of treatment.
Since I’m going for 12 months, that means for three-quarters of my trip, I’d have more than 3 months’ worth of medication.
I plan to bring my prescriptions with the INN (International Nonproprietary Name), as well as the original packaging (even though it’s a nightmare, but from what I understand, it’s necessary). But I’m not sure if that’s enough...

We, as parents, have been through it in Egypt with pretty bad cases, but we’d really like to avoid that for our daughter.
