J'habite a Maurice depuis 3 ans, j'aime bien ce pays mais bon on a vite fait le tour, on me propose un CDI a Madagascar comme expat, j'entend pas mal d'histoires inquietantes a Maurice a propos de la vie comme expat a Tananarive, qu'est ce que vous en pensez? Cette decision est dure a prendre, l'offre est bonne pour la paye mais a Maurice c'est vraiment tranquille et il n'y a presque aucuns risques que ce soit au niveau securité, bestioles venimeuses ou aggressives, maladies ( a part le chikun qui est rare) ou stabilité de pays, en plus c'est assez moderne, les routes sont en bon etat, on trouve de tout a Maurice, derniers films, musique, lecture, quelques concerts, bonne bouffe et l'eau est en general potable...Je vais en reco en aout, la compagnie m'invite pour 4 jours a Tana pour voir le bureau et quelques maisons, j'ai entendu qu'il y a 20 000 Francais sur l'Ile donc j'imagine que cela doit etre assez correct! Est ce qu'il y a des associations d'expats? Quels sont les quartiers sympas et tranquilles pour avoir un logement a Tana? Est ce que les precautions d'usages au niveau de la bouffe et de l'eau sont vraiment restrictantes a Mada? apparement tous ceux que je rencontre ont des problemes d'estomac frequents et un employé d'ambassade me dit qu'il est malade souvent, et que la pollution a Tana est eprouvante pour les allergies...certains me disent qu'a Tana il y a rien a faire comme loisir une fois que la routine s'installe mais que les sejours en dehors de Tana rendent l'esperience inoubliable...si vous avez des infos je vous remercie de partager, je dois quitter mon boulot a Maurice, louer ma maison et vendre la voiture avant de partir donc j'ai pas envie de me planter, et de devoir revenir a Maurice comme chomeur! merci....

quand on travaille a Maurice il y a pas de grande difference avec les Mauriciens, d'ailleur je suis venu ici sans contrat de travail prealable donc j'ai pas le status d'expat, j'ai juste envoyé mon CV une fois sur place. ici on oublie vite qu'on est a Maurice, il y a tous les niveaux de vie comme partout mais rien de trop extreme. A Mada je serais dans ma bulle de privilegié, le salaire est disproportionné par rapport aux malgaches, mon futur patron qui lui aussi est francais expat me dit qu'il est la bas depuis 2 ans et qu'on est bien, la compagnie fournit maison, voiture et paye toutes les factures, j'imagine que dans ces conditions on est un peu isolé de la situation locale ce qui peut etre difficile a vivre ou tres facile dependant de la maniere de voir les choses, je me vois mal vivre dans le luxe au milieu de la misere extreme si c'est le cas a Tana, a Maurice il y a pas trop de misere a chaque coin de rues, donc je verrai pendant mon sejour a Mada si c'est vraiment la galere la bas. D'un autre coté l'appat du gain se fait sentir, les contrats expats sont allechants surtout a cause du niveau de vie local, tout le monde me dit c'est un bon moyen d'economiser des sous, d'ailleur ils proposent que la moitié du salaire soit viré sur un compte a l'etranger, donc un dilemne, si j'etais seul j'irai sans trop y penser, mais ma femme risque de pas aprecier...enfin, on verra, c'est ma premiere impression qui decidera durant ma courte visite en Aout je pense...

effectivement sur Tana ville les loisirs sont maigres, la pollution due à la circulation importante, et il faut boire de l'eau en bouteilles.
A présent, c vivable, il ne faut rien exagérer non plus, mais c vrai ce n'est pas le paradis.
Par exemple pour te baigner protégé par le récif corallien, il faut compter 11 h de voiture environ, c sûr ça te fera plus loin qu'à Maurice.
Tu gagneras plus mais ta qualité de vie va se dégrader.
Voilà ton dilemme à venir !

Merci pour les infos lecatalan ( j'ai de la famille a Ceret...).je vais en reco en aout pour quelques jours, la compagnie m'invite et j'ai deja demandé a une agence immobiliere de visiter quelques maisons a Tana, si la maison est chouette cela va jouer beaucoup dans ma decision...mon secteur c'est telecom/informatique. cela bouge un peu de ce coté dans l'ocean Indien, a Maurice c'est la chouchou du gouvernement, il y a plein de projets de faire une cyber Ile de Maurice, et pleins de projets de centre d'appels dans la region, donc les telecom et l'informatique jouent un role la dedans ( avis aux amateurs...)

pour ta future maison, 2 points incontournables : 1) pouvoir sécuriser son véhicule (garage ou jardin bien fermé)
2) il y a des délestages électriques de temps en temps, certains quartiers sont peu ou pas touchés, il faut te renseigner avant de signer.
nb : en dehors de l'hypercentre de Tana, il n'y a pas d'éclairage public, en outre aucun feu rouge ne fonctionne.
(le maire de céret est mon ancien prof de maths, le monde est petit)
A Maurice pour avoir du boulot legalement il y a pas trop le choix, il faut etre Mauricien ou resident ici ( marié a un/une mauricienne) ou trouver un boulot comme expat avec une compagnie locale, une ambassade, ONG ou une compagnie internationale qui a succursale sur place et s'occupe de justifier l'embauche d'un etranger aupres des autorités et s'occupe du visa, c'est faisable mais cela peut prendre quelques mois. La Reunion au point de vue legal c'est bien plus simple car un DOM bien sur, Par contre j'ai rencontré quelques jeunes qui bossaient au noir dans des discos ou autres petits boulot pendant leurs vacances pour des salaires de misere ou juste pour une chambre gratuite ( avec la roupie mauricienne on va pas loin!) le visa de touriste ici est de 3 mois donc cela devait etre pratique pour prolonger le sejour au moins et economiser... mais attention, si ils se font attraper par la police ( ou denoncer, ce qui est tres probable car sur un petite Ile les ragots vont vite faire le tour) ils se feront mechament deporter et la police ici n'est pas tendre, pareil pour ceux qui restent pour plus de 3 mois, c'est vraiment pas une bonne idée! je le conseille vraiment pas car Maurice n'est pas un pays facile de ce coté la, surtout pour des jeunes de 14 ou 16 ans, ils risquent de se faire arnaquer ou pire, si ils veulent travailler pendant un sejour a l'etranger ou des vacances je pense qu'ils devraient rester en europe, faire l'espagne ou la grece, ou bien aller a Ibiza ou Las palmas, c'est deja assez exotique, moins loin et bien moins dangeureux....par contre ma compagnie qui est dans l'informatique acceuille des stagiares francais parfois mais ils ne sont pas payés, ils doivent prendre en charge toutes leurs depenses.

Voila ce que l'agence me propose, tu connais ces quartiers un peu? mon boulot sera avenue Lenine, j'arrive meme pas a trouver cela sur ma carte de Tana ( qui est un peu limite fait dire...), c'est a Antanimena ( cela non plus je trouve pas!) grosse confusion au niveau des noms, est ce que ce sont des faubourgs? des quartiers? si tu as une opinion a propos du quartier ideal je te remerci d'avance...je veux essayer d'habiter dans le quartier ''correct'' le plus pres possible du boulot...Je vais visiter ces baraques le 26 aout donc j'aimerai deja me decide au niveau d'un quartier pour limiter un peu le choix...la j'ai pris le guide petit futé 2006-2007 pour mada, je reccomande vivement, super bien fait le guide, plein d'info aussi bien pour le routard, le touriste ou l'expat !!!

en général il n'y a pas de noms de rues. On désigne un lieu par son quartier (voilà la réponse à ton interrogation), puis on dit "prés de l'église une telle" ou autre point remarquable. Au début, c déroutant pour nous! puis on s'y fait ... faute de mieux !
Là où tu vas bosser c au nord du centre ville de Tana. Le quartier Antanimena, c'est à côté du marché chinois de Behoririka, proche du marché Pochard. C trés animé avec plein de boutiques de vêtements à trés bas prix.
Il y a un trés bon restaurant, " la villa vanille" et si tu aimes les jeux de hasard tu as aussi un casino tout proche.

Ivandry c un quartier au nord de l'avenue lénine. Talatamaty, c encore plus nord (nord -ouest en fait), là t'as besoin de prendre ta vouture pour aller au boulot . Amdrohibe, c l'hypercentre (palais présidentiel), 15 mn maxi à pieds pour aller avenue lénine. L'electricité ne coupe pas ici, SAUf en cas d'orage violent. Amboditsiry = ? ça ne me dit rien . Ce soir j'appelle ma femme qui est à Tana et je lui demande.
A Tana, j' habite chez ma femme qui est malgache, je n'ai jamais déménagé du lourd.

Alors voilà : au nord-est d'Antanimena, tu as le marché d'ANDRAVOAHANGY et le quartier d'Amboditsiry est tout proche. Si tu continues nord -est encore tu aboutis enfin à Androhibe.
Un peu + loin, tu as une zone commerciale à l'occidentale : un hyper (géant casino, rebatisé localement jumbo score) une galerie commerciale (le zoom) avec le seul magasin de sport que je connaisse à Mada, d'autres grandes surfaces (brico, electroménager), un leader price (normal: leader price est une chaîne qui appartient à Casino), des boutiques chics, et l'agence immobilière Guy Hoquet, le tout dans un quartier avec les sièges de Renault, Total, la TV etc.
Je te conseille là un hôtel ( ****) à l'excellent rapport qualité /prix : le Sunny gardens.
Je retrouve 2 photos + le tel et mail de l'hôtel et je t'envoies le tout cet aprem.

merci pour les infos, je vais voir sur ma carte si je m'y retrouve, ma femme me demandait justement a propos des magasins...aussi coincidence mais c'est bien avec cette agence que je visite des maisons, enfin c'est la seule qui a un site avec des photos, super sympa en plus, ils m'ont repondu tout de suite. j'ai deja fixé mon choix au Nord de Tana comme quartier de preference, cela semble logique, vivement que j'y soit pour voir un peu, pour l'hotel c'est la boite qui s'en charge, je sais pas encore ou il me logent mais je n'aurais pas le choix, je pense que ce sera pret du boulot. le petit futé dit beaucoup de bien du restau villa vanille!

Bon séjour à Tana, tu verras c'est très agréable point de vue humain.
J'ai séjouné 10 jours à Maurice pour mon voyage de noces début 2006 au-dessus de Grand Baie. Puis 15 jours à Mada, de Tana à Tuléar en voiture, de beaux paysages et de belles rencontres. Nous avons très apprécié avec mon épouse ce séjour à Mada, et de plus son père est né à Fianar, de quoi concrétiser un rêve.
Sinon nous cherchons à nous implanter là-bas depuis et je recherche dans le domaine dans lequel tu travailles. Saurais-tu si ton nouvel employeur a des opportunités de missions ou de postes ? Je suis administrateur réseaux/télécoms d'un groupe bancaire (40 sièges et 3000 agences), avec un passé en école de commerce et gestion, donc polyvalent.
N'hésites pas si tu veux 2 ou 3 infos sur Tana, j'ai visité qq quartiers en long et en large en Taxi-be (bus local).

I’ve heard about one in California, Diablo Valley College, and another in Florida, Valencia College. I know both states are super attractive for tourism, but my main criteria are teaching quality and price. I’m open to any advice, comments, or suggestions—thanks in advance!
