je suis étudiant en école d'ingénieur en france et je viens de trouver un stage de 6 mois à l'université d'adelaide. Le gros problème c'est qu'il commence normalement en février. Je suis donc en train de demander un occupational trainee visa. mon interlocuteur australien a déjà rempli le formulaire 913 et doit l'envoyer très rapidement au bureau d'immigration australien. On m'a dit qu'il fallait au moins un mois avant qu'il donne son accord, savez vous si il y un moyen d'accélérer le processus car après il me faudra encore demander mon visa à l'ambassade australienne à paris.
Et concernant le billet d'avion est ce que vous pensez que c'est raisonnable de l'acheter maintenant alors que je n'ai toujours pas le visa?
Dsl je ne peux pas t'aider puisque je suis exactement dans le meme cas que toi. Bon pour repondre a ta question, obtenir un visa pour un stage c'est un peu galere. Deja il faut trouver un stage, que le maitre de stage remplisse des papiers pour demander une autorisation de stage (il demande ca au departement de chez plus quoi en australie), ensuite et ca met un certain tps il aura une reponse avec un papier et un code et ensuite avec tt ca tu dois alle a l'embassade (ou par courrier) pour faire ton visa. moi je l'ai eu 3 jours avant le depart.
Mais ca vaut vraiment le coup, c tout simplement genial l'australie.

C'est vrai que moi aussi ca faisait longtemps que je n'étais pas venu sur ce site...
La situation de ton copain ressemble à la notre. Est-ce qu'il a trouvé un stage??? Je ne sais pas vers quoi il souhaite s'orienter mais les stages en entreprises sont assez dur à trouver. Le plus facile est de trouver un stage dans une université mais dans ce cas ça s'oriente souvent vers de la recherche. Personnellement, c'est ce que j'ai fais, comme beaucoup d'autre français en Australie d'ailleurs, et bien que la recherche ne m'attirait pas spécialement, je ne regrette vraiment pas mon choix. Par contre les conditions du stage ne sont pas toujours évidentes à négocier à distance. Il faut savoir que les universités sont payantes et ils te demandent dans certains cas de payer les frais d'inscription pour venir faire un stage!!!
En ce qui concerne l'obtention du visa, pedro à bien résumé notre situation. Moi j'ai reçu les papiers australiens quelques jours avant mon départ et j'ai fais mon visa à l'ambassade australienne à Paris la veille du départ.
Bon courage dans vos démarches et si tu as d'autres questions, n'hésites pas...

En ce qui concerne les modalité pour le visa, pedro59 les a un peu détaillées dans un message précédent. Mes souvenirs sont à peu près les mêmes que lui donc si ce n'est pas suffisamment clair je te conseil d'aller sur le site le l'ambassade australienne. Par contre c'est un peu galère de les avoir au telephone et tu risques d'y laisser un peu d'argent.
Pour le niveau d'anglais, à mon avis ca ne pose pas trop de souci. D'un point de vue professionnel, si tu fais du développement (tu veux bien parler de recherche et développement???) c'est l'anglais écrit qui est important et dans ce cas tu trouves tjs moyen de te débrouiller et d'un point de vue social, les gens sont assez compréhensifs et te diront que tu parles mieux anglais qu'eux parlent français! En plus, c'est un avis qui n'engage que moi, dans ce genre de périple on rencontre souvent d'autres expats et pas vraiment d'australiens donc le niveau d'anglais est bcp plus abordable.
Après, tout dépend de ce que tu veux dire quand tu dis :"sans BIEN maitriser l'Anglais". Si vraiment tu as un très mauvais niveau, le début risque d'être assez délicat mais c'est juste un mauvais moment à passer...
Pour répondre clairement à ta question, à mon avis il est tout à fait possible de partir sans bien maitriser l'anglais et au contraire ca te sera d'autant plus bénéfique. Par contre je te conseil d'éviter la solution de facilité lorsque tu arrives à savoir fréquenter que des français... n'est ce pas PEDRO?

I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
