Je vis actuellement en France (un pays que je n'ai jamais quitté d'ailleurs). Mon conjoint a eu une proposition interessante de travail aux Bahamas, et donc nous avons le projet de partir vivre là-bas.
Nous ne connaissons pas du tout les Bahamas, j'aurais vraiment besoin de conseils, de savoir comment est la vie là-bas, s'il y a du travail et surtout si la vie n'est pas trop décalée de la vie en France? 😕

J'ai eu l'occasion de passer 3 nuits à Nassau en août.
Quartier de Cable Beach, hotel Radisson.
Nous venions de Key West et de Miami...
Quelle déception !!!
Autant les Keys et Miami sont animés, cool, vivantes, intéressantes, avec beaucoup à visiter... autant Nassau est un TROU perdu....
Nassau, c'est un quai et une rue principale.
Le quai sert aux Bateaux de croisière qui accostent pour 3 ou 5 heures, pas plus... pas fou...
La rue abrite des bijouteries et un marché couvert avec comme produit principal les faux sacs Vuitton.
Les 2 ou 3 bars et le seul resto du centre ville ferment à 17h jusqu'au lendemain matin!!!... de toutes les façons les bus arrêtent leurs circuits à 19h... donc à partir de 17h tout le monde est confiné dans les hotels.
Cable Beach sont un quartier en perdition complète, il est prévu de tout abattre pour construire un nouvel Atlantis... donc en attendant, plus d'entretien...
Le Radisson est fermé à moitié...la démolition a commencé... l'horreur complète !!!
Atlantis, parlons-en:
un Disney bas de gamme, très bas de gamme dont on fait le tour en 2 heures... on ne peut pas faire autrement que d'y aller, c'est la SEULE attraction et visite de NASSAU!!!
Les halls sont superbes mais la partie hotellière (visitée grace à des touristes) est elle aussi bas de gamme... un 3* vieux de 15 ans !!!
Il reste la plongée mais apporter masques et tubas, car introuvables sur place, le seul magasin de Nassau qui en vendent était fermé les 3 jours de notre séjour. et pour l'hygiene j'aime pas les masques et tubas fournis par les hotels et jamais désinfectés... bonjour l'herpes!
Sympa de louer un scoot pour la journée et faire le tour de l'île... Y a rien à voir mais ca tue le temps!
La population locale est sympa, sans problème.
En conclusion, Nassau est un mauvais plan.
C'est en fin de compte bien fait pour nous, car nous n'avions pas préparé cette escapade de 3 jours, et pensions que Nassau était un petit Miami, ou News Orleans... une sorte de paradis pour milliardaires ou branchés...
Pour les touristes français...les portables Orange et SFR ne fonctionnent pas à Nassau...--
Sachant que Nasau est la capitale, je n'ose imaginer l'animation qu'il règne ailleurs...
Bien sur, ni cinéma, ni théatre...
Miami est à 1 heure d'avion et c'est 150€ l'AR... cela peut compenser...
Mais bien sur, ce n'était qu'un oeil de touriste, je ne connais pas vraiment les Bahamas.
Pour le job, en dehors des hotels et des casinos, je ne vois pas vraiment... sachant que les locaux se battent déjà pour ces jobs avec l'espoir de pouvoir partir aux USA..
J'espère que vous aurez d'autres contacts, mais sur ce forum, les Bahamas ne font pas le plein...
je me permet de m'incruster dans cette conversation car j'ai ete tres choque de la seule reponse que tu as eu en ce qui concerne la vie aux Bahamas, on ne connait pas un pays quand on y passe trois jours............. cela fait presque six que je vie a Nassau et ce n'est pas du tout le tableau que vous a peint la personne qui a repondu.
Oui la vie est completement differente qu'en France ca c'est sur, les gens y sont tres agreables et sympathique mais ils vivent un peu au ralenti.it
Quand on vient en tourriste et qu'on ne connait rien oui ca peut etre un peu decevant, mais quand on y vit c'est sympa, il faut vivre a l'ouest de l'ile l'est et le sud ne sont pas genial. Sur Cable beach comme la personne en parlait oui ils sont en train de realiser de gros travaux qui vont entrainer d'enorme changement positif en ce qui concerne le developpement de la vie sociale ainsi que l'architecture car ce sont sur cette avenue des hotels qui ont mal viellis tout va etre detruit et reconstruit vous pourrez voir les changement sur bahamar.com en ce qui concerne L'Atlantis, ce n'est pas un disney a deux francs etant donne que c'est n'est pas un disney du toutc'est juste un enorme hotel tres kitch certes mais rien avoir avec un parc d'attraction, ils ont terminer le deuxieme phase qui est beaucoup plus classique et plus jolie, quand on y vit on y va pas tres souvent parceque c'est vrai que c'est fait pour es americains mais il y a des restos et des bars sympa malgres tout.
Ensuite il y a environ 700 iles toutes ne sont pas habites mais il est tres sympa de se ballader d'ile en ile il a des endroit absolument sublimes encore sauvage et c'est vraiment magnifique, ensuite il y a biensur des endroit pour la plonge et tous les sport aqautiques puis des golfs superbes. Nassau et aussi situe a 50 minutes de la floride et deux heures de NYC, et encore bien d'autres destinations comme cuba la jamaique.......donc une facilite a voyager et l'opportunite d'aller voir plein de superbe chose, et d'aller s'aere car il est vrai que quand on vit sur une ile on a besoin d'en sortir de temps en temps mais tu verra que ce petit rocher te manquera vite.
en ce qui concerne le travail, c'est un peu le hic, si ton mari travaille tu n'auras qu'un permis de resider tant que ton mari a un permis de travail mais il y a la possibilite de trouver du travail et de faire des demande de permis.

J'ai vécu trois ans en Polynésie (Bora Bora) et je ne vous cache pas que la chaleur tropicale me manque quelque peu. Beaucoup de pays m'intéressent et les Bahamas plus particulièremement. After living for many years in the West (Belgium, Italy, Switzerland),
I’ve decided to return and settle in Cameroon, my home country.
Currently an entrepreneur in real estate and transport, I’m looking for a partner / partners / foundation to collaborate on an agriculture project, as I own 10 hectares of land.
The hectares have remained unused for years due to a lack of financial means, since the project requires what I’d call a considerable investment. As the main stakeholder, I have a minimal contribution to offer.
I believe it’s time to bring this space to life to meet pressing needs and serve the common good of society.
The project is simple:
1) Grow maize + build a processing plant to produce flour

If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
