Pour moi pas de soucis je partirais demain .

Est-il possible d'en savoir plus sur la vie dans ce pays en tant qu'étrangers "riches" ?
Je suis invalide celà posera-il des problèmes pour ma prise en charge médicale ?

Vivre dans la RD et y aller en vacances (déjà 4 fois, comme vous le dites) c' est différent. C' est très important pour vous de pouvoir communiquer avec les dominicains. Ma première question : parlez-vous l' espagnol? Vour aurez moins de problèmes et les dominicains vous respecterons plus si c' est le cas. Je connais des "résidents", surtout des américains, qui après avoir séjourné même 10 ans dans le pays sont incapables de parler plus de 10 mots d' espagnol!
Ma deuxième question : êtes-vous flexibles? Je veux dire par cela, êtes-vous capable de faire un effort de vous adapter et surtout de ne pas penser comme américain, canadien ou européen "riches"? Et surtout de ne pas montrer que vous riches ou supérieurs?
Si la réponse à mes 2 questions est positive, alors vous avez fait un grand pas en avant!
On dit souvent que les dominicains sont des voleurs, mais c' est souvent les gringos qui en sont la cause!
Alors non je ne parle pas le dominicain et je ne pourais malheureusement plus l'aprendre car j'ai une maladie neurologique et déja un suivit pour le français par une orthophoniste .
Si je suis flexible oui j'aime les gens quelques soient leur races leur appartenance religieuse j'adore rencontrer des personnes gaire leur connaissances mais il est certain que la langue sera un frein pour communiquer .
Mais je pense aussi que l'on peut comuniquer diferamment que par la langue , il y a le sourire les gestes l'intéret la compassion les regars ect ....
Je suis une personne simple sans prétentions je partage facilement je suis très souriante et accueillante .
Je n'ai jamais fermé ma porte a clé que je vive seule ou non absente ou présente ma porte est ouverte .
J'ai discuté avec des dominicains qui parlent le français et j'aime leur façon de vivre de partager de faire la fète sans trop se soucier du lendemain d'être heureux simplement sans chichis .
Donc oui je crois que malgré le problème de la langue j'aime la république dominicaine et j'espère de tout coeur qu'il sera un jour mon pays adoptif .

Habitant Las Terrenas depuis 3 ans en ne parlant aucun mots d'espagnol (maintenant oui) il est très facile d'y vivre au quotidien sans la langue du pays! Il est vrai que les dominicains apprécient quand les "étrangers" parlent leur langue mais ne nous en tiennent pas rigueur si nous faisons des efforts... gestes, sourires etc.... L'important je crois c'est d'avoir du respect envers les gens...avec ca, tout passe bien!!!
Pour les assurances, vous devriez peut être vous informer sur les assurances domincaines, il y en a de très bonne et le pays ne manque pas d'infrastuctures médicales de très bonne qualité (Saint Domingue, Santiago)

Permettez-moi de vous le dire : Las Terrenas, que je connais, est un "ghetto" français! Tous les français - pas tous, il y a des exceptions - s' y sentent bien parce que tout le monde parle français. Permettez-moi de vous le dire, beaucoup de français sont partout dans le monde et sont connus comme chauvinistes, la France c'est toujours superbe et le reste ... Vous ne parlez pas le français, c'est très dommage. Un peu comme à Sosua, le même "problème", où il y a beaucoup de résidents allemands qui ne parlent que l' allemand, ils boivent leur propre bière allemande, ont leurs restaurants allemands, etc... Moi-même je parle couramment 5 langues, je connais la différence, et je sais ce que c' est de pouvoir communiquer avec les autochtones partout dans le monde!
Après d' avoir voyagé partout dans le monde, surtout en Amérique Latine y compris les Caraïbes et grâce à cette riche expérience, je me sens très bien dans ce continent.
Je termine avec une phrase que j' ai noté quelque part en Egypte : "Paradise is not a place, but a moment in Time;" J' espère que vous avez compris... Bref, je me sens partout à la maison.😛
Je suis tout à fait d'accord avec vous... J'ai appris l'espagnol et je cotoie beaucoup plus de dominicains que de francais... La vie peut être belle et bien peut importe où l'on est... ça ne tient qu'à nous et non aux gens qui nous entourent...
J'ai cru comprendre que cette personne a des problèmes de santé qui l'empêche d'apprendre une autre langue... je dis simplement que pour elle, Las Terrenas serait peut être bien puisqu'on peut y vivre en francais....

Il y a partout des gens de bonne volonté, mais cette personne dont vous parlez n' a peut-être pas les possibilités ou les moyens. Il est vrai, moi particulièrement je m' adapte très facilement (langue, culture, cuisine, etc...), mais pas tout le monde est comme moi. Honnêtement, je crois que je suis un peu privilégié.
Passez un bon weekend dans le soleil de Las Terrenas. Pour le moment je suis en Belgique : neige, neige et encore de la neige ... sans soleil avec des températures de - 10 °C. Je retourne le 3 janvier.😎

Pour les allemand celà ne m'étonne pas j'habite à la frontière en Alsace .
Je suis impatience de venir passer 17 jours en RD encore 31 jours et 21 h et je serais enfin sous le soleil de Samana
Je serais heureuse de venir manger une glace italienne quand je serais à las terrenas .
Ici nous avons également froid en beaucoup de neige mais nous y sommes habituer car nous habitons en montagne .

Je connais pas mal de "gringos" (européens, canadiens ou américains) qui ont une boutique, un resto ou un bar en Rép. Dom. qui marche très bien. Ils se plaignent tous ou toutes. Je parle naturellement de Sosua/Cabarete. Beaucoup de ces "gringos" arrivent et pensent qu' ils vont y faire fortune. Hélas ce n' est pas le cas... Je connais quelques exceptions, par ex. à Cabarete "El Rincon Goloso" d' une amie belge, Christine. Elle vend des plats de jours à 100 pesos, fait des chocolats belges (pralines), etc... elle a une clientèle "gringo" et dominicaine, heureusement pas des touristes "all in", et elle s' amuse, comme moi d' ailleurs. Le reste des gringos : une catastrophe!
J' espère que la boutique "Pinguino de Alaska" marche bien, comme le resto de Christine à Cabarete, à Plaza Media Luna. Vas-y et dit lui que c' est Armando qui t'a recommandé!
A Sosua/Cabarete je connais pas mal de Canadiens sympa et même très sympa...mais la plupart viennent pour échaper à l'hiver... Max. 3 mois!
ca fait longtemps que j'ai compris qu'il était pratiquement impossible de faire fortune ici... je désire suelement bien gagner ma vie, cotoyer des gens intéressant et vivre "tranquilla"!! J'ai également une clientèle de gringos et de dominicains et c'est ce que je voulais, être accessible pour tout le monde! Beaucoup des gringos malheureusement, veulent et pensent pouvoir vivre comme en Europe ou en Amérique... c'est leurs première erreur à mon avis...
Si je passe à Sosua, j'arrête chez ton amie belge! Mais comme je suis très occupée, les occasions de partir de Las Terrenas sont plutot rares. Il y a un resto ici aussi qui marche très bien et qui fait lui aussi des plats à 100 pesos...

Nous viendrons il est sûr manger une glace , si vous acceptez les all inclusive qui sortent pour manger ailleur qu'à l'hotel 😉.
Nous avons manger en janvier à Las terrenas chez un français qui tennait un petit restau très sympa .
Nous avons très bien mangé , et y retournerons avec plaisir c'est d'ailleur avec eux que nous avons parlé de la vie en tant qu'étranger là bas .
Le taxi de Samana à Las terrenas n'est pas cher et le chauffeur très content d'avoir du boulot pour la journée .
Il me hâte de venir ce pays m'obsède, il me manque .

Our departure time is getting closer (we have less than 2 years left—it’s both a long time and so short!). To start preparing seriously, we’ll need quite a bit of info. If anyone knows the rates charged by movers for a crate to French Polynesia, or what pitfalls to avoid (I know you can get quotes directly from movers, but I’d love insights from actual customers😉).
